You Exist in My Song
"You exist, deep in my mind, in my dreams, in my heart, and in my song."

Your POV
Connor insisted that we take the taxi to the karaoke place even though it was a couple block away from the movie theater.
"There's still a little bit of snow left on the floor. You might slip and twist your ankle again." Connor said
"I was wearing boots yesterday, that's why I slipped. I'm wearing something a lot more suitable for snow, so I won't slip again." I reassure him. After a small amount of bickering and a little learning session about my chances of twisting my ankle again from Connor, I gave up and we took the taxi.
As we were on the taxi, I could see Connor blinking his eyes.
Did he get a new case?
"Connor, why are you blinking?" I ask him.
"I was...downloading something..." He replies.
"What are you downloading?"
He pauses for a moment. "...Something important."
I knew he was trying to hide something from me, but I didn't push him further for an answer.
After a minute or two, the taxi stopped and we went into the karaoke bar.
"Welcome to Eden's Karaoke Bar. How can I help you today?" An android said as we went in.
Is it a coincidence that this Karaoke place is called Eden's Karaoke Bar?
"Um, we would like to get a room please?" I tell the android.
The android nods and then its LED turns yellow.
"Room 69 is avail—"
"R-room 69?!" I yell out. Both the Android and Connor looks at me weirdly.
"(F/N), is there a problem with the number 69? We can change it." Connor said.
"N-no, it's fine."
Oh my god, did I have to actually say that? Come on, you're not a kid anymore...
"I will have your Android guide you there." The android looks at Connor. Connor starts to twitch his eyes.
"I got the map of this place. (F/N), let's go." Connor says as he guides me to the room.
"Alright."
Connor's POV
(F/N) sounded really uncomfortable when she heard the number 69. Maybe it's a number she doesn't want to remember? Or maybe the number represents something from the past that she doesn't remember? I'll ask her about it later...
I lead (F/N) to the room and close the door behind us. When she first got into the room, she looked amazed.
It took some time for her to get used to some of the things around the room and how to use them.
"So... where's the screen?" She asked
"What screen?"
"You know, the one where you select the songs?" She said.
"It's by voice command. If you wish to select a song, you just say the name of the song and the artist or the album it's from." I explained.
I then proceeded to go to the other side of the room and grabbed the microphone for (F/N), hoping that she won't ask me to sing.
"Okay, let's see..." She says as she thinks of a song to sing.
"Oh! I want to sing (your current lyrical song) by (the artist/s)." The Screen in front of us flickered and a music video with lyrics appears on the screen. I scanned the song for information and found out that this song was pretty old.
She likes older songs... maybe I should sing an old song too.
(F/N) opens her mouth to sing the song. Her voice resonated in the room as she sang each word. The bicomponent inside of me started to beat faster and faster as time went by. My system wanted to reject this, but something inside me wanted to do the opposite.
Before long, (F/N) reached the end of the song. She looked at me with a big smile on her face.
"Wow, it's been a long time since I have sung a song." She proceeded to hand me the microphone.
"Connor, why don't you try singing?"
The one thing I wanted to avoid...
"I don't think it's necessary, you seem to enjoy singing. You should conti—"
She pouted her lips as I spoke. Instantly, my heart pounded crazy.
"C'mon, it won't be as fun if I don't share that enjoyment..." she pleaded.
"Fine..." I quickly do a search of some old song and played the whatever was on the first one. The screen switched and the name of the song I have picked was displayed.
(F/N)'s eyes widened when she saw the title of the song.
She must know this song.
The lyrics show up and I proceeded to sing.
"What is love? Baby, don't hurt me Don't hurt, me no more
Baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt, me no more
What is love? Yeah~"
From the corner of my eye, I thought I saw (F/N) take a pillow and hide her face. Before I got to ask her why she was doing that, the next verse was up already.
"No, I don't know why you're not there
I give you my love but you don't care
So what is right and what is wrong?
Give me a sign"
As I was singing, I heard soft giggles coming from (F/N). Slowly, the volume of the giggles started to increase.
I decided to ignore them since if she is giggling, she must be happy. The thought about (F/N) being happy makes my heart pump faster and faster as I was singing.
After I finished singing, (F/N) burst out laughing. She started rolling on the couch with tears starting to form in her eyes.
"What's so funny?" I asked her.
(F/N) tried talking to me, but every time she opened up her mouth, she started to laugh again.
Three minutes and twenty-four seconds later, she finally stopped and was able to speak to me again.
"Connor, what was your question again?" she asked me.
"I asked you what was so funny."
"Oh, right...It was funny because it's a meme and you sounded just like the dude that sang the song." She said.
"I sound like the artist because I copied his voice and..."
I tried to search up the word 'meme', but nothing showed up. "What... what is a meme?"
She looks at me as if I went haywire. "You don't know what's a meme?"
"No...no, I don't," I tell her.
Her mouth dropped wide open. "You're saying that memes don't exist?"
"I guess not since I did not get information when I searched it up."
(F/N) seemed really sad about what I said. I tried to think up of ways I could cheer her up again.
"Um... How about I sing another song?" I tell her.
She instantly snapped out of her thoughts and turned to me. "Sure!"
I search up another song, hoping that it won't make (F/N) sad again.
This time, when the song came up, she looked at the title curiously.
"I saw you on a Sunday in a–" I started to sing before (F/N) cut me off.
"Is...there something wrong?" I ask her.
"Connor, singing is not about copying other people's voices; it's about singing from here:" she says as she reaches her hand and places it onto of my heart. I flinched at it a little bit, making (F/N) take her hand back.
"I'm so sorry! I did that without thinking..." she exclaimed.
"No, it's my fault for not understanding what you mean," I tell her, trying to lift the blame out of her head.
"I mean that you should sing based off of what you like or want. Feel the music and let the melody flow."
"But androids can not feel. We can emulate emotions, but we can not feel them." I tell her.
"Just...try, Connor. Use something like a moment in the past that you liked and relate to it by music."
A moment in the past that I liked and relate it to music...
"I... think I understand now." I rewind the music video and sing from the beginning.
Your POV
"I saw you on a Sunday in a café
And all you did was look my way..." Connor sang. He looked at me before he continued to sing again.
"And my heart started to race
And my hands started to shake, yeah"
Every second Connor was singing made my heart race faster and faster.
"I heard you asked about me through a friend
My adrenaline kicked in
'Cause I've been askin' 'bout you too
And now we're out here in this room"
This feels too familiar...
Connor turned around, facing me and smiled as he sang.
"I get a little bit nervous around you
Get a little bit stressed out when I think about you
Get a little excited
Baby, when I think about you, yeah"
~Time skip to the end of the song
"Talk a little too much around you (I talk a little too much, yeah)
Get a little self-conscious (I get a little self-conscious)
When I think about you
Get a little excited (I get a little excited)
Baby, when I think about you
Yeah, when I think about you, babe"
I immediately clap for Connor like a proud mother during their kid's graduation.
"So, did you like it?" Connor asked.
"I don't like it," Connor instantly looked like a sad puppy." I LOVE IT!" I screamed (a little bit too loud...).
"Oh, you got me worried there for a second..." Connor said as he loosened up a bit.
"What did you think about when you were singing?" I asked Connor.
He was silent for a few seconds. "I was thinking about you." He said.
My whole body went crazy and my face turned really hot. "M–Me?!"
"Yeah, I was thinking about yesterday when we went to the cafe with you." He explained.
"O–Oh, I see..." I said, trying to keep my composure and calm myself.
Connor looked at me curiously. "(F/N), my sensors detect that your heart rate has gone up pretty high for the last couple seconds. Is there something wrong?"
"N–No, I just got...excited about your song, that's all." I said, looking away from his brown eyes.
He looks at me suspiciously, but he decided not to question me about it.
Both of us sat on the couch silently for a few minutes.
"Do you want to get something to eat?" Connor asked me, attempting to break the awkward silence.
"I'm not that hungry since I just had popcorn and slushy," I said. "But let me see what's on the menu."
Connor nods at me and hands me a tablet. The tablet displayed the menu.
I hummed as I looked through the menu. "I'll get (whatever you want to eat right now)."
"Okay." Connor's LED turned yellow and his eyes twitched.
"I just ordered it." Connor said after his LED turned back blue.
"Great. I'm going to go to the restroom." I said as I got up and walked out of the room.
As I was walking to the restroom, I heard someone behind me. I tried walking faster, but the footsteps kept getting louder and louder.
Before I was able to reach to the restroom, I felt someone grab me by the back and pulled me. A white cloth was on top of my mouth and nose. I tried to get out of the person's grip and yell for help, but the piece of cloth muffled my voice.
Connor...help me...
A/N: I know it's been like 6 days since I have updated this book and I am super sorry for making you guys wait so long. 😓 The reason why it took so long was that I was trying to make this chapter as good as possible and I got a four-day opportunity, therefore slowing down the production of this chapter. I hope you guys understand and I really appreciate each and one of you guys for being patient with me. I don't know when the next chapter might upload because I am going to China in a couple days and I'm going to be there for a month, but I am hoping that I will have some time to write!
PS: The song at the beginning of the book is called You Exist in My Song, which is a Mandarin song. I recommend checking it out! If anyone wanted to know what song Connor sing the second time, it's Nervous by Shawn Mendes. This song did inspire me to write the chapter Nervous if you didn't figure out. Some people did recognize it 😏.
