badass
bad•ass - a tough, uncompromising, or intimidating person.
"He had the audacity to talk about my parents too." Poppy and I were taking a walk through the park, it was actually pretty nice out. "What a dickhead," she rolled her eyes. We sat down on a bench that was under a magnolia stellata. The breeze swayed through Poppy's short and slightly curly pink hair. It made her look even more radiant. "Thanks for sticking up for me like that. I never knew you were such a badass," she said. I smiled and blushed a bit, but not enough for her to notice. "I'm a certified badass, stick with me kid." I wrapped my arm around her neck.
*poppy*
Is it weird that his badassery turns me on? I don't think so. I felt safe in Branch's arms, plus he smelled good. I had a bit of a sudden sweet tooth, I needed ice cream. "Wanna get ice cream?" I asked looking up at his blue eyes. "Sure, let's go." We walked to McDonald's and I got a phone call, it was Suki. "Can I take this?" Branch nodded. I walked back out the door of the restaurant and answered. "Hey girl. Where are you?" Suki asked on the other line. "McDonald's, with Branch." I heard her laugh on the other line. "Branch should win a fucking grammy for being the most badass." Couldn't agree more. "Do you think he likes me?" There was silence for a few seconds. "Hell yeah he does," she said finally. "I'm gonna leave you two be, text me later, okay?" I looked back in McDonald's at Branch. He swept his hair off to the side like most boys do and it's so fucking hot. "Okay, bye." I hung up and walked back in the slightly old restaurant. Branch handed me a chocolate ice cream and two chocolate chip cookies, he knew me so well. "I'm impressed, Timberlake." I nudged his arm. "I'm impressive, Kendrick." We walked out and ate our ice cream. I had never been alone with a boy before so I had no clue what to say. "Excited for New York next week?" Was the first thing that popped up in my mind. He nodded his head kind of hesitantly. "We can't even get along." He has a point. "True." I was getting a little tired of walking around, it was getting pretty boring. Then I saw a fountain, it looked like a wishing well, it was so pretty. The fountain had the most beautiful water lilies ever. "Can we go sit by the fountain over there?" Branch nodded. We walked over to the now lit fountain and sat down next to each other. It was starting to get dark, and I had a good view of the stars. "What do you think the stars represent?" I asked looking at the attractive boy. "Infinity, maybe." He replied. He sighed deeply and purposely plopped on the stone ground, I laid next to him. "It's funny how we have a word for that and yet no one can describe it," I said with a bit of sarcasm. "Love?" When he said this I looked longingly into his eyes. Branch noticed my actions and I quickly turned away, he chuckled. "Do you like me?" God no, I wasn't ready to tell him yet. "What do you mean?" He turnt over and smiled. "You know exactly what I mean." After that comment, silence filled the air. "I like you, a lot. Is that okay?" "Yes!" I covered my mouth realizing I answered too quickly. Branch laughed. "I like you too, Branch." It felt so good to get that off my chest. As he was about to kiss me I felt a rain drop on my head. An eco was in the background. "Poppy? Poppy?! POPPY!!!! Wake up!!" I opened my eyes and I was soaking wet, it was raining, hard. Was it all a dream? Did we kiss or not? Branch took my hand and we ran to the nearest roof. When we were under the roof he noticed we were still holding hands and separated us. I really wanted to know what did and didn't happen. "What just happened?" Branch took an umbrella from a cart and grabbed me by the shoulder as we walked home. "You said you wanted to sit by the fountain, so we did. Then we laid on the ground for some weird reason, and you fell asleep on my shoulder." Dammit! "That's all?" I asked in disappointment. "That's all."
WHO ELSE WATCHED THE KISSING BOOTH????
