Tutors and Suits

Hriel's POV

"I don't want her to teach me!" Sam protested as Gabriel shut the door to the room he had dragged the taller boy into. Currently, Sam was pouting, his hands crossed over his chest, as he whined piteously, and Gabriel couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

He knew that Sam didn't like being around people other Gabriel and Castiel, and he hadn't seen Gabriel's brother since his visit - which was almost a week ago. Gabriel wasn't sure why, but he figured it had something to do with his past, so he didn't push to try and make him interact....until today.

"Sam! Please listen to me, okay?" Gabriel said, a small whine threading through his voice. For the past hour, he had been struggling to get Sam to listen. "She's only here to teach you the things I can't. If I didn't have to work, and had all the time in the world to teach you, I would do it, but this is the only option at the time." He said, watching as Sam's defenses began to break down. Gabriel had figured out, especially when Sam wanted to be stubborn, that when he became desperate, it always got his attention.

After several minutes of silence, Gabriel was in turmoil. This was the third tutor he had tried to get Sam, and if this didn't work, he didn't know if he could find another one. Finally, his nerves were put to rest as Sam reluctantly nodded, a sigh of relief escaping Gabriel's lips.

"Thank you" Gabriel said, giving Sam a quick hug and kiss on his forehead, which of course required him to stand on his toes -he still hadn't figured out how the giant had gotten that tall - and opened the door, leading the boy back out. At first, Sam didn't follow, and it wasn't until Gabriel took his hand and urged him out that he finally did.

The girl that was waiting in the living room was rather pretty, her bouncy dark brown hair in delicate curl and deep brown eyes. Her angular face only contrasted with the softness in her eyes, though it only added to her beauty. She stood as they both came out, smiling softly at Sam who was attempting to hide behind Gabriel.

"This is Sam." Gabriel introduced, motioning to the boy standing behind him and taking a step to the side. Sam looked at him, then the tutor, shifting on his feet shyly as he held his hand out, as Gabriel had taught him. The tutor took it, either not or pretending to not notice the way the giant flinched.

"Hello Sam, my name is Madison." She said gently, and Sam looked at her, a little bit of tenseness fading from his shoulders. Gabriel relaxed as well. Maybe Sam would warm up to her and they could actually get work done.

"Okay, I'll be back around seven tonight. Do you think you can stay until then?" Gabriel asked, pulling on his coat as he talked. Madison nodded and he smiled again, leaning up and pressing a chaste kiss onto Sam's forehead, a habit he had picked up.

"I'll see you later then." He said softly, smiling at both of them before walking out the door.

Gabriel wiped the thin film of sweat off his forehead as he changed out of his scribe and into his normal clothes. He shut his locker, not bothering to spare Jessica a look as he brushed past her. It was no secret in the hospital that they haven't spoke since the incedent. Most were actually shocked at their coldness towards each other, as they used to be very good friends.

So Gabriel ignored the whispers as he walked out of the changing room and towards his car. In all honesty, he just wanted to get home to Sam. He was hoping that Madison had managed to teach him something, unlike the other tutors. He hoped that maybe even the giant boy would become friends with the girl, as she was rather sweet. Gabriel couldn't help but feel a little jealous at the thought though.

Lost in thought, he didn't realize he was at his car until he bumped into the door. He shook his head, clearing his mind, and got into, turning the car on and backing out of his parking spot. He drove towards him home, singing along softly to the songs that drifted from the radio.

When he got home, he was a bit worried when he saw that Madison's car wasn't there and got out quickly, racing up the steps to his home. He fumbled with his keys for a moment, finally finding the right one before unlocking it and rushing in. When he saw Sam laying on the couch, he let out a sigh of relief, leaning against the door frame to the hallway.

He took a deep breath and walked over to the sleeping figure, and crouching in front of his face, running his hands over his hair. "Sam. Wake up." Gabriel said gently, shaking Sam's shoulder just a bit. Sam groaned and flinched from Gabriel's touch, though childbearing his voice, he leaned back into it. Gabriel shook him a bit harder, a yelp escaping his lips when Sam wrapped his arms around him and dragged him onto the couch.

"Warm." Sam mumbled, sounding strangely unlike Sam. Gabriel furrowed his eyebrows. His voice was slightly deeper, and filled with knowledge. Gabriel decided that he didn't like this voice. He hated to hear his Sammy sounding like that.

"Sammy." He said, shaking his shoulders a bit harder. Sam's eyes snapped open,though they were still flash from sleep. Gabriel tipped his head as the boy rubbed his eyes, stretching.

"I told you Dean, don't call me Sammy. That's for a chubby twelve year old." Sam said, finishing his stretch. After a second of stunned silence, Sam blinked, his eyes clearing. He looked at Gabriel, his eyebrows furrowing.

"Gabriel? I had the weirdest dream that Madison was a werewolf and I had to kill her. It was terrible. Then, I saw you and you were surrounded by a ring of fire. You told me that you were an angel."Sam said, his voice once again normal. Gabriel listened, but his mind was distracted.

Sam had mentioned Dean. That didn't mean much, as there were a lot of Deans in the world, but since they both had the same last name, it made only more suspicious. In his pondering, he almost forgot to answer back."That's a strange dream, but it's a good thing that it's not real. I prefer not being an angel surrounded by flames." Gabriel said, smiling as a laugh left Sam. He was so adorable.

"How about we go lay down? Since tomorrow Friday, I was thinking of getting somethings were need for the wedding." Gabriel suggested, running his hand through Sam's hair again as he saZzzzz,lowly nodded, a yawn coming through as if on cue. Gabriel helped him off the couch and down the hallway. He didn't get to Sam's door before Sam stopped, making Gabriel look over at him.

"Can I sleep with you tonight?" Sam asked, his puppy dog eyes coming through. Gabriel knew he would never be able to say no to that look, even if he had wanted to. Gabriel nodded, opening the door and leading Sam by the hand into the room. Sam followed and they both climbed on the bed, Sam automatically curling up against the shorter male.

Gabriel wrapped his arms around Sam, kissing the top of his head as Sam drifted to sleep. Gabriel didn't sleep much that night, threading his fingers through Sam's hair and thinking about the family that Sam might have if he was right with his theory.

Gabriel woke up to someone's breath mixing with his. He slowly opened his eyes, Sam's forehead pressed against his own. Gabriel smiled, filling so comfortable with the boy near him. He eventually had to move though, especially since the alarm had started to go off.

"Sam, time to get up." Gabriel said, brushing his hand over Sam's face before getting up. He walked over to the dresser, pulling out clothes for both of them to wear as he heard shuffling behind him. He turned, smiling at the giant as he yawned and go up. Gabriel tossed some clothes beside him, before he started getting dressed from his clothes he had worn home.

"Get ready! We have a busy day ahead of us!"

~~~~~~~~~
Sam looked at Gabriel in confusion as they go out of the car, the store in front of him very sleek and intimidating. Gabriel smiled encouragingly, taking his hand and leading him. "We need to get suits for the wedding, but we'll go get something to eat afterwards, okay?" Gabriel encouraged.
Sam nodded and looked around in wonder at all the suits that lined along the wall. Most of hem anger from blue to gray to black, though there were some that were maroon, and even a pink color. Gabriel led him over to the woman behind the counter, whose was typing away on a computer
"Can I help you? The woman asked, not looking up from what she was doing. Gabriel leaned on the counter, his charming smile coming into place. Sam, However, held onto Gabriel's hand like it was a life line.
"Yeah, I was wondering if you had any suits that would fit him." Gabriel said, imprisoning to the boy behind him. The woman looked up, her eyes widening at the pure size of Sam. Her voice obviously caught in her throat as she tried to answer, making her cough.
"Let's get some measurements. We might." The woman said meekly, her cheeks tinted pink as she fiddled with her hair, looking over Sam, that is until she saw his and Gabriel's hands entwined. Her smile dropped from her face, but neither Gabriel or Sam seemed to notice, as the shorter male was explaining what measurements were.
~~~~~~~~~~

Sam let out a groan as they finally walked out of the shop, Making Gabriel chuckle as he set the suits they had just bought in the back seat. Turned out that they did have a suit to fit Sam, but just barely, and you could yell if you paid attention to the way the pants clung to his body.

"Let's just leave the car parked here. We can get some food in the restaurant down the street." Gabriel suggested, once again taking Sam's hand and leading him down the street. Despite the city not being that big, there were still plenty of people on the streets, and Gabriel could tell was getting uncomfortable by the way his hand clutched harder to Gabriel's.

Gabriel eventually saw the restaurant come into view and pulled Sam in, glad to see it almost empty. He looked back at the boy and frowned, seeing him glancing around wildly. Gabriel sighed and pulled him close, hugging him and whispering comforting words.

"I don't know if I can fit in around so many people." Sam whispered, a shiver traveling over his body. Gabriel felt a well of sadness. Sam was such a kind young man, and this predicament he was in just made it so hard on him.

"Don't worry. I'll be here to help you every step of the way." Gabriel murmured before pulling away and seeing hat the giant had calmed down a little. Ignoring looks they had gotten, Gabriel lead him over to the counter, ordering some cheeseburgers before heading into an empty booth. Sam flinched as a girl let out a scoff as they passed, muttering about how they ruined her meal. Gabriel could feel his anger starting to brew, though he pushed it down. He wouldn't explode in front of Sam.

They took a seat, and smiled at each other, pushing the woman out of their minds. They ere just here to enjoy each other's company. "So what did you learn from Madison yesterday?" Gabriel asked.

"I learned how to read numbers and some words. I also did...math." Sam said, only pausing a second to remember the word. Gabriel grinned and patted Sam's head, chuckling. Sam automatically leaned into the touch.

"Good job! You sure learn quick. Are you sure you aren't a genius?" Gabriel asked, genuinely surprised about the boy's progress. He never imagined that Sam would up things this quickly. Sam didn't seem to find anything strange about his quick learning progress, as he was too distracted by his own curiosity.

"What's a genius?" Sam asked, tipping his head as he furrowed his eyebrows. Gabriel pondered for a moment, trying to find the best way to explain it.

"It's someone who is really smart, and can learn anything fast." Gabriel attempted to explain, though he felt like he didn't do that good of a job. Sam seemed to understand though, because he nodded.

They didn't get to talk much after that, just a few words exchanged here and there as their food came and they began eating. Afterwards, they left, heading back into the crowded street, though it was finally beginning to thin out, and towards the car.

Gabriel was shivering by the time they reached, and he got in, blowing into his hands to warm them up. Sam had fared better than he did, having much more body heat, and only had to deal with a cold nose. But, being the kind wall that he was, Sam took Gabriel's hands in his own, letting his warmth wash over them, and Gabriel had to do all he could to hide his blush.
