Inside the pharmacy, Henry Mills is reading a comic book when a girl approaches him, asking," Whatcha reading?"

" The Hulk versus Wolverine." Henry answers.

The girl introduces herself," I'm Ava. I think I've seen you around school. You're in Miss Blanchard's class, right?"

Henry smiles and nods. Just then, a boy approaches, asking Ava," Almost ready, Ava?"

Ava then introduces the boy to Henry," This is my brother Nicholas."

Nicholas greets Henry with a Hi before turning to Ava, urging her," Come on, let's go."

Ava says to Henry," You wanna come hang out?"" Sure." Henry smiles as he picks up his backpack, following Nicholas and Ava.

Nicholas prepares to pull the handle of the door to leave as Sneezy, known in this world as the pharmacy's owner, Mr. Clark, holds the door closed.

" Where the hell do you think you're going? Ah choo!" He sneezes, and points at Henry, demanding out," Open up your bag."

" What?" Henry asks as Mr. Clark snarls," Don't think I didn't see you rob me. Open your bag."

Ava and Nicholas exchange a glance as Henry denies worriedly," But, I didn't take anything."

Mr. Clark grabs Henry's bag, taking out several candy bars and he states," And a liar, too."

Feeling betrayed, Henry turns to Ava, realization dawns on him as he accuses Ava," That's why you were talking to me. So your brother could put that stuff in there."

Mr. Clark shakes his head at the boy," Henry, I'm shocked." He turns to the siblings and he asks," And you two, just who do you think you are?"

The Enchanted Forest. Past.

A woodcutter chops down a tree as he says turn to a girl resembling Ava, but is known as Gretel in the Enchanted Forest.

He explains to his daughter ," A fine specimen, the wood it provides will keep our family's hearth for warm this winter."

" Can't I have an axe" Gretel asks, shocking the Woodcutter

" You did say you wanted me here so I could help." Gretal explains. Nodding, the Woodcutter instructs," That I did. So, here's your task: take the cart, go fill it with kindling. The drier, the better."

"Okay." Gretel nods and she walks away.

However, before she left, the Woodcutter adds," And, have your brother accompany you."

" Okay." Gretel turns to Nicholas, known as Hansel in the Enchanted Forest, and she ushers her brother," Come on."

" Wait!"

Both Hansel and Gretel halts as the Woodcutter approaches his children, putting a compass around Gretel's neck," Take this."

" Your compass?" Gretel asks as the Woodcutter explains," So you don't get lost. A family always needs to be able to find one another."" Yeah."" Okay. " The Woodcutter pats Gretel and he instructs his two children," Go. Be safe."

Hansel and Gretel then set off to complete their task.

Later

Soon, at another part of the forest, Gretel carries some wood to the cart while Hansel is practicing with his sling.

Gretel then says to Hansel," It's getting late. We should go."

However, Handel is still playing with his sling so Gretel takes it away, causing him to scream out,
" Hey! Give it back! Come on, Gretel, give it back."

Gretel however, refuses," No, Hansel, we need to get back to Father."

" Fine." Hansel relents as Gretel looks at the compass," Follow me."

Hansel pushes the cart and follows Gretel where the pair return to the area of the forest where they left their father.

" This is where we left him." Gretel states as Hansel asks frantically," So why isn't he here?"

Both brother and sister began calling out for their father.

Just then, the two heard a voice in the distance, prompting them to run toward the sound.

The two ended up on the nearby road where the Woocutter is nowhere to be found.

" Father! Father!" Both Hansel and Gretel,

Turning around, Gretel gasps as she leaps to the side, nearly run down by the lead rider of the Evil Queen's carriage.

Looking at the compass in her hand, Gretel realizes it is broken.

One of the Queen's knights approaches them, demanding out," Get up."

He grabs the children and brings them to the door of the carriage.

The children watches the door swings opens and the Evil Queen steps out, asking," What are you doing in my forest?"

Storybrooke. Present. Dark Star Pharmacy.

Henry stood there silently as Mr. Clark is talking to Regina Mills about her son's action

" I'm sorry, madam mayor, but your son was shoplifting." Mr. Clark says as Regina turns to Henry. asking him," Were you?"

Henry shakes his head.

Not convinced, Mr. Clark points to a bench, on which are Henry's backpack and some goods taken from it and he haughtly puffs out," Well, look for yourself."

Regina takes a look at the goods and she snaps," My son doesn't eat candy. And he knows better than to steal." She then takes the backpack, zipping it up and she points at Ava and Nicholas, saying," It was obviously those two. We're going."

Regina and Henry leaves the pharmacy as both Zatanna and Emma Swan enters, with the latter asking him," Henry. What happened?"

Regina then snaps at Emma," Miss Swan, must I remind you that genetics mean nothing? You are not his mother and it's all taken care of."

" I'm here because I'm the sheriff." Emma strongly states, only for Regina to sneer," Oh, that's right. Go on, do your job. Take care of those miscreants."

Emma walks pass Regina and she asks Mr. Clark," Did you call their parents?"

Mr. Clark shurgs as he answers," Uh, the number they gave me was disconnected."

Mr. Clark walks away to leave Emma to talk with Ava and Nicholas. As Mr. Clark sneezes, Zatanna comments to herself," Boy, Sneezy ain't he."

She then listens as Emma interrogates the two children," Did you guys give Mr. Clark a fake number?"

Ava and Nicholas shake their heads, prompting Emma to question further," Then why is it disconnected?"

" Cause our parents couldn't pay the bill." Ava explains.

Zatanna holds up a box of toothpaste they planned to steal, showing Emma as she asks," You guys are just trying to help out, huh?"

Ava nods," Please, please don't arrest us. It will just make things worse for our parents."

The Enchanted Forest. Past.

On the road. Hansel and Gretel were answering to the Evil Queen

Gretel then explains," Please forgive us. We didn't mean to bother you. We're just, we just lost our father."

Evil Queen shakes her head as she tsks," Two helpless children, lost and alone, a family torn asunder. Such a sad and moving story."

She turns away, addressing her knights," Guards, seize them."

Gretel quickly takes out the sling, shouting to her brother," Hansel, run!"

Hansel quickly runs away while Gretel throws a stone at a guard with the sling, distracting him as the two flees.

Another guard draws his sword but the Evil Queen raises up her hand, stopping him.

The Enchanted Forest. Past.

In the forest, Hansel and Gretel continues running, looking back as they attempt to keep some distance away from The Evil Queen.

However, right at that moment, The Evil Queen appears with some purple smoke, blocking Hansel and Gretel's way.

Cackling The Evil Queen sayss," Running from me is foolish."

Hansel and Gretel continue to run but found themselves caught by some tree roots controlled by the Evil Queen's magic. The two falls onto the ground, unable to them

The Evil Queen walks towards them shaking her head," Foolish, but also brave. And that bravery, may just have saved you and your family's lives."\

She waves her hand, using her magic to remove the tree roots, freeing the siblings.

Confused, Gretel asks," You're, you're letting us go?"

" Oh I am doing so much more than that." As Hansel and Gretel get up, the Evil Queen says," I am going to find your father."

" You are?" Hansel asks and Gretel adds," Why?"

The Evil Queen answers," Because you two, are going to do something for me."

" And then, you'll take us home." Gretel states.

Storybrooke. Present.

In Emma's car in front of a house. Emma has driven Ava and Nicholas home.

Emma stares at the house and she asks," This it?"

Ava nods.

The two unfasten their seat belts as Emma asks," Are you sure you two don't need us to follow you?"

" Please, no." Ava begs," If our parents see you, they'll be so embarrassed."

" Did Henry tell you about my superpower?" Emma asks, prompting Ava to shake her head," We just met him."

Emma then explains," I have the ability to tell when anybody is lying. Tell me the truth, money problems aside, is very thing okay at home?"

Ava nods," Yeah, we're great. Can we go?"

" Alright."

Ava and Nicholas get off the car. Emma starts the engine and watches Hansel and Gretel goes up the stairs.

Ava and Nicholas stops at the door seeing that Emma has driven off before she turns to Nicholas, saying," She's gone. We're good."

The two goes down the stairs, go to the backyard climbing over a fence and get into the house's storeroom, which they have been living in.

Nicholas sits on a bed and Ava puts the food they got onto a cupboard.

Suddenly, they hear some noise coming from the house, prompting them to follow the noise and get into the house through a trapdoor.

Right at that moment, the two heard a voice from behind, startling them," Why did you guys lie to us?"

Startled, they turn to face Emma and Zatanna who are behind them, whom the latter asks," Where are your parents?"

Knowing that it is no use lying anymore, Ava answers," We don't have any."

Storybrooke. Present. The Blanchard loft

Ava and Nicholas are seated down, having meal while Emma, Zatanna and Mary Margaret are having a conversation.

Emma then asks," Do you know them? Do they go to your school?"

Mary Margaret answes," I've seen them, but I had no idea, none of us did."

Emma then reads from their file," Ava and Nicholas Zimmer. So their mother was a woman named Dory Zimmer. She died a few years ago. No one seems to know her or remember her."

Mary Margaret asks," And the father?" To which Emma answers," There isn't one, at least not one that they know."

Zatanna looks at them and she comments out," Interesting, two kids with no parents have been studying at your school for this long and you didn't know?"

Mary Margaret shakes her head and she says to Zatanna," Well, information are hazy but all I know is that they have been in my class for as long as I could remember. And speaking of this..."

Mary Margaret asks Emma," What does, uh, what does social services say?"

Emma didn't answer, causing Mary Margaret to ask," You didn't report them."

Emma looks at them before whispering to her," I report them, I can't help them. They go into the system."

Mary Margaret then say," The system that's supposed to help." To which Emma disagree haughtily," Yeah, says the woman who wasn't in it for sixteen years. Do you know what happens? They get thrown into homes where they earn meal ticket, nothing more. These families get paid for these kids and as soon as they're too much work, they get tossed out and all starts over again."

" But then not all are like that." Emma shakes her head at Mary Margaret's statement," All the ones I was in."

Zatanna then says to Mary Margaret," I don't know about you but Emma has a point. These kids were not like Bruce Wayne from Wayne Enterprise who inherited his parents money after a family tragedy."

Mary Margaret sighs out and she asks her," What, we're just gonna adopt them?"

Zatanna then says to Emma, " If you don't mind Emma, I want to look for their father. They don't know him. He may not know they exist."

Mary Margaret then asks Zatanna," And you think if he knows, he'll want them."

Zatanna shrugs," I don't know. But what I do know is that it's hard enough finding foster families to take one kid that isn't theirs, let alone two. It's the best shot, or..."

Just Ava suddenly comes up behind Emma, tears welling in her eyes as she tearfully asks the women," ...we're gonna be separated?"

Emma kneels down and she assures the girl," No, that's not gonna happen."

Ava then begs," Please, please don't let it"

Storybrooke. Present. Hall of records.

A middle-aged male is working behind his desk, staring at a newspaper clipping of LexCorp when he notices Zatanna and Emma approaching him.

Zatanna greets him," Excuse me, Mr..."

Zatanna stares at the name plate, struggling to read his name," Ku-sas-ki?"

Mr. Krzyszkowski then answers," It's Krzyszkowski. Everyone calls me "K"."

Emma then greets him," Mr. K, I am Sheriff Swan and this is my sister Zatanna. We're hoping to look at the birth certificates of Ava and Nicholas Zimmer.

" Well, just," Mr. Krzyszkowski takes out three forms and he instructs," Fill out these forms, in triplicate." He stamps all three forms as Emma takes the forms cautiously," Okay."

Mr. Krzyszkowski searches through a drawer before he shakes he head said to the two," I am so sorry. Those documents have been recently removed."

Zatanna demands," By who?"

Storybrooke. Present. Regina's office

Inside the office in the town hall. Emma and Zatanna stood as they questions Regina about the birth certificates to which the mayor assures the two," Don't worry, Miss Swan, Miss Zatara, you can relax. I've contacted the social services. Turns out these kids are on their own. They need help."

Emma then states," Which is exactly what we are trying to do. We're trying to find their father."

Regina haughtly said," Well, he doesn't exist."

" He has to." Zatanna insists to which Regina surprisingly agrees," Of course, biologically, he exists. But there's no record of him, which means we have no choice. These children need a home, so they will be put in the foster system."

" Storybrooke has a foster system?" Emma questions.

Regina shakes her head," No, but I have contacted the state. Maine's group homes unfortunately are filled. But they put us in touch in two homes in Boston. Boy's home and a girl's."

Horrified, Zatanna gasps," They're separating them?"

" I don't like it either. But we've got no choice." Regina turns to Emma and she says to her," You need to have them in Boston tonight."

"Me?" Emma ask?

Regina explains," Well, you wanted to be sheriff. This is what sheriffs do. Yes, you're taking them."

Zatanna, however, refuses," No, I promised them they wouldn't be separated.

Regina simply shrugs," Well Miss Zatara, then you should stop making promises you can't keep. These children need a home. I'm just trying to find the best one."

Regina folds up her arms as both Zatanna and Emma looks at each other.

The Enchanted Forest. Past.

In the forest, The Evil Queen leads Hansel and Gretel through the forest. She notices Gretel's compass and she asks the girl," What is that?"

Gretel answers," My father's compass. He gave it to me so I can find him. But now it's broken."

Hansel then asks The Evil Queen," When are you gonna tell us where we're going?" However, as if to answer his question, The Evil Queen suddenly slows down, and she states," This is close enough."

" Close enough to what?" Gretel asked as The Evil Queen answers," The home of the Blind Witch."

Hansel and Gretel exchanged a glance before Gretel comments out pessimistically," That doesn't sound good."

The Evil Queen then instructs the two," She has something of mine and I need you to get it back."

" What is it?" Gretel asks to which The Evil Queen replies," Something I need to defeat a very wicked and powerful enemy. It's kept in a black leather satchel inside her house."

" Well, why don't you get it yourself? How come you need us?" The Evil Queen then explains the situation to Gretel," Because the house is protected by magic. I can't enter. But luckily the spell doesn't work on children. You'll have to wait here until nightfall, and then once the witch is asleep, you can sneak in."

" And if we do this, you promise you'll find our father." Gretel asks.

Evil Queen vows," Oh, indeed I will." Gretel nods, however, The Evil Queen still has something to add," But there's one more thing. The witch's house is, unique. And because of this, you have to take special precaution once you're inside."

" Like what?"

The Evil Queen warns," No matter what you do, no matter how you're tempted, don't eat anything."

The Evil Queen pushes away a leafy branch, showcasing a giant gingerbread house decorated with candy and sugary treats of all kinds.

Storybrooke. Present. Storybrooke Sheriff Department.

Henry enters while Emma is searching for information about Ava and Nicholas's father to which Zatanna greets him," Hey Henry."

" Any luck?" Henry ask to which his mother shakes his head," No."

Henry however, had an answer," I know who they are. Brother and sister, lost, no parents. Hansel and Gretel."

Zatanna then whispers," No wonder why I thought those kids look familiar."

" What was that?" Zatanna jumps by Emma's question before she quickly changes the topic," Uh nothing. So uh Henry, do you know anything about their dad?"

Henry simply answers," Just that he abandoned them."

Emma scoffs," Right, sounds like a familiar story. Whoever this guy is, he could be in somewhere like Fawcett City by now."

" No, he's here." Henry states to which Emma questioned," Just how do you know that?"

Henry then explains," Cause no one leaves Storybrooke. No one comes here, no one goes. It's just the way it is." Emma looks at Zatanna and she says to Henry," But we came here."

" Because you're special. You two are the first stranger here, ever." Henry replies.

Emma then takes out a file from a drawer, understanding his words," Right, I forgot. Well, if he's around here anywhere, I'm gonna find him."

As she and Zatanna sat next to each other at a desk, Henry sat on the desk and he asks his mother," Can, you tell me about him?"

" I don't know anything yet." Emma quickly replies only for Henry to clarify his question," Not their father, mine."

Emma looks up as Henry spoke," I told you about your parents, now you're even living with your mum."

" Mary Margaret isn't... she's... never mind."

" Please." Henry pleads.

Zatanna agrees, you know Emma, during those days, you never told me about any flings or anything so care to share?"

Emma sighs as she tells the pair her story," I was pretty young. after a few years living with Zatanna and her dad, I stay back while the two went for a year long tour. So I went to work at this 24-hour diner, just off the interstate."

Henry then asks," So what was my dad working as? Was he a scientist in Central City or a News Reporter like that famous reporter, Kara Danvers?"

" Um no," Emma shakes her head," Your dad was training to be a fireman. He always got the worse shifts. So he'd come in and order coffee and pie, and sit at the counter and always complain that we didn't sell pumpkin pie. But he always come back the next day anyway."

Henry then asks," Did you get married?"

" No, nothing like that. We just, we hung out a few times outside of work, and life happened. His got better and mine, got worse. I got into some trouble." Emma continues.

Henry then adds," And went to jail."

Emma nods," Yeah. And before I went, I found out I was pregnant with you." Henry smiles as Emma continues," And after your grandpa bailed me out, I tried to contact him. And I found out, that he died saving a family from a burning department building. So, you think I am the savior, Henry. He was. Your father was a real hero."

Henry then questions," Do you have anything of his? Something you can remember him by. Something I can see."

Emma stutters," Uh...no.. I..I don't."

Upon realizing something, Emma says to her son," Henry, I'm sorry. I gotta go. I may know how to find this guy."

Henry gets off the desk and he watches as his mother ushers to his step-aunt," Come on Zee, I think I got an idea."

Storybrooke. Present. Blanchard Apartment.

Back at the Blanchard loft, Ava and Nicholas are eating cookies when Emma comes in, holding a box.

" I want to show you guys something." Emma then takes out a blanket from the box, prompting Nicholas to ask," What's that?"

Emma answers," It's my baby blanket, something I've held onto my whole life. It's the only thing that I have, from my parents. I've spent a lot of time with a lot of kids in your situation. And all of them, all of us, we hold onto stuffs. I want to find your father, but I need your help. Is there anything of his, you've hold onto?"

" I might have something." Ava spoke before she cautiously says," But if I give it to you, you'll make sure we stay together, right?"

" Right." Emma vows as she puts away her baby blanket, watching Ava take out a compass and then handing it to her, prompting Emma to question out," A compass?"

" Our mom kept it. She said it was our dad's." Ava explains.

Upon noticing it, Zatanna takes it from Emma and she stares at it, a feeling of deja vu overwhelms her as she promises Ava," Don't worry kid, we are gonna find your father if it's the last thing I do."

Before both Emma and Zatanna leaves, Ava asks Emma," Did you find them?"

Emma pauses," Who?"

" Your parents." Ava answers.

Emma smiles and she answers," Not yet. But I already have my family here." She wraps her arms around Zatanna before she says to her," Now let's go."

The Enchanted Forest. Past. Gingerbread House

At the Gingerbread House. Hansel and Gretel slowly approaches the house, cautiously approaching it.

Gretel puts her compass inside her clothes.

Hansel gets some cream from the wall with his finger and he pulls his hand close, wanting to taste it only to be stopped by Gretel.

The two climbed inside through a window and enters a room with a table full of candies and cakes.

Hansel whispers," Can you be sure she's sleeping?"" I can't. And remember what the Queen said? Not even a lick." Gretel whispers back.

Hansel then notices a sleeping figure on a chair near the fireplace, and he points at her, saying," You're right, look."

Gretel stares at the sleeping figure to which she knows is the Blind Witch before pointing towards something near the Blind Witch, saying," And there's the satchel"

As the two slowly creeps towards it, Hansel asks his sister," What do you think is inside it?"

Gretel shrugs off his answer," Doesn't matter. All that matters is getting it to the Queen so she can find father."

Gretel walks pass the Blind Witch to get the satchel unaware that at the same time, Hansel picks up a cupcake and looks back to Gretel before closing in to take a bite.

Gretel stops when she heard the Blind Witch suddenly snores but carries on after that.

She finally succeeds in getting the satchel.

However, right as she returns to Hansel, he takes a bite of the cupcake, causing her to gasp out in horror.

Gretel quickly stops Hansel from taking another bite, but by then, the Blind Witch has already awakened, her unmoving eyes snaps open as she sniffs out.

Hansel and Gretel widens their eyes upon noticing many human bones in front of the fireplace, causing them to turn towards the door in an attempt to escape.

But the door is locked shut by magic, sealing off their escape.

As they run towards the windows, the windows are also closed before they reach them.

" I smell dinner." The Blind Witch cackles as both Hansel and Gretel look at each other in fright.

Storybrooke. Present. Mr. Gold Pawnbroker & Antiquities Dealer|

At Mr. Gold's pawnshop. Emma and Zatanna enters while Mr. Gold is cleaning an oil lamp, to which he looks up and he greets them," Ah, Emma, Zatanna, how lovely to see you two."

He then puts down the lamp and asks," I'm flattered to take time off your busy schedule for me. What can I do for you, sheriff?"

Zatanna puts the compass on the table in front of Mr. Gold as Emma drops right to the point," I'm looking for information on this old compass. Any idea where it could've come from?"

Mr. Gold takes up the compass, studying the detail of it as he remarks," Well, well, look at the detail. You know, this is crystal. This jewelled setting. Despite the rather unfortunate shape it's in, this is actually quite an unusual piece."

He then puts the compass down to the table, expressing out," The person who owned this obviously had great taste."

" And where would someone like that buy it?" Zatanna questios only for Mr. Gold to answer," Right here, of course."

" You know it?" Zatanna ask,
Mr. Gold replies," Indeed. Piece like this is difficult to forget."

Emma then probes further," Do you happen to remember who bought it?"

Mr. Gold answers as he walks to another part of his shop," Well, I'm good with names, Miss Swan, but...maybe not that good. However, As luck would have it, I do keep quite extensive records."

He then opens a drawer and searches in it before taking out a white card and exclaims," And, yes, here we are."

He then holds the card and say to the pair," The compass was purchased by Mr. Michael Tillman."

Emma asks," Anything else?"

" Just a name. But I generally find that's all one needs." Mr. Gold replies.

Emma and Zatanna nods at each other before turning around, walking towards the door as Mr. Gold wishes them luck," Good luck with your investigation."

Storybrooke. Present. Michael's automobile repair shop.

The Woodcutter, known as Michael in this world, is reading the file about Ava and Nicholas that Emma gave him

He then gives the file back to Emma before denying the information written on it," Not possible."

" Actually it is." Emma insists

Michael shakes his head," Sorry. But Dory, she wasn't my, my... It was just once."

He then turns back and walks to continue tending a car as Emma says," Sometimes that's all it takes."

"I met her when I was camping. And, we um... No, it's not possible. I don't have twins." Micheal told the two only for Zatanna to express out," Yes, you do. You have twins that have been homeless ever since their mother passed away. Your twins have been living in an abandoned house because they don't want to be separated from each other. Your twins are about to be shipped off to Boston and separated forever, but only you can stop that from happening."

Michael suddenly hits his hand by accident before he nurses it, looking back and telling off the two women," Look, I can barely manage this garage. I can't manage two kids. Why are you so sure they are mine?"

Zatanna then takes the compass and shows it to Micheal, asking him," Have you ever seen this?"

Michael stares at the compass and he whispers out," I lost this."

" Well if those kids have it, then it definitely wouldn't be a coincidence." Micheal listens as Emma adds," I know it's a lot, believe me, I know. A month ago, a kid showed up on my doorstep, I gave up for adoption, asking for help with... something, I ended up moving here for him."

Michael nods," I heard about that. It's the mayor's son. But staying in town is, a lot different from taking him in."

" I don't have my kid, because I don't have a choice. You do." Emma strongly states," Those kids did not ask to be brought to this world. You brought them into this world, you and their mother. And they need you. If you choose not to take them, you are going to have to answer for that every day of your life. And sooner or later when they find you, because believe me they will find you, you are going to have to answer to them."

Michael pauses for a while before apologizing to the two," I'm really sorry, I am," He then puts the compass back into Emma's hand and he continues," I don't know anything about being a dad. If it's a good home you're looking for, it's not with me." He then leaves, entering a room before closing the door.

Both Emma and Zatanna stood there and Emma asks Zatanna," So what should we do now? Should we go back and tell them?"

Zatanna shakes her head," I can't. Because all I'll be telling them is that false hope I gave them is exactly that."

Emma shrugs," The truth can be painful, Zatanna but it can also be cathartic."

Zatanna then told Emma, " Easy for you to say, you told Henry the truth that his father is dead and he's handling it great."

However, Emma's nexts words shocks Zatanna," I didn't tell him the truth."

" Huh?" Zatanna looks at her sister and she asks," What do you mean?"

" Henry's father was no hero and trust me, he does not need to know the real story. Maybe we can hide the kids, just until we can find a family for them, someone to take care of them." Emma suggests.

Zatanna then adds," Or we can adopt the kids ourselves except we don't really have a place to stay in Storybrooke nor the money to take care of them."

" And plus with Regina probably wouldn't be happy about it and..."

" Won't be happy about what?" Both Emma and Zatanna jumps and the two turns, seeing Regina suddenly appearing from behind.

" Whoa. Regina" Zatanna gasps as Regina looks to Emma, asking," Sheriff, shouldn't you be on the interstate?"

" What are you doing here?" Emma questioned only for Regina to retaliate," Seeing to it that you do your job. Because those kids are supposed to be in Boston tonight."

Upon hearing that, both Emma and Zatanna can only look at each other.

The Enchanted Forest. Past. Gingerbread House

Back at the Gingerbread House. Hansel and Gretel are put behind a metal cage, cowering as the Blind Witch locks the gate and attempts to grab a child with her hand between the metal bars, tapping as she calls out," Where are you?"

Upon touching Hansel's arm, the Blind Witch sneers," Oh, yes, nice and tender. Succulent roast you'll make."

As she walks to the oven to inspect the temperature, the now terrified Hansel turns to Gretel and he screams," God, she's going to cook me. We gotta do something quick!"

Gretel tries to calm her brother down," Stay calm. I'll think of something."

Just then, both Hansel and Gretel heard a sound from inside, causing them to jump.

" Uhhhhh..." Gretel closes in on the figure inside the cage, tapping at the figure.

" Um, hello? Are you okay?" Gretel asked just as the figure open her eyes, pushing herself up and revealing herself to be a young girl around the same age as Gretel.

" Where am I?" The girl asks as Gretel answerss," You're locked in a cage set by the Blind Witch."

The girl then realizes and she curses," Oh god, I can't believe I ate those candy?"" What happened?" Hansel questions as the girl explains," I was sent on a mission by my father when I found this house in the woods. I got hungry so I knocked on the door and asked for food and the Blind Witch tricked me by giving me a cupcake cursed with a sleeping curse."

" So how did you wake up from a sleeping curse?" Gretel asks as the girl explains," Luckily my body is capable of resisting the effect of the curse so while the sleeping curse puts normal people in an eternal slumber and can potentially kill them, on us, the sleeping curse only cures my insomia which I got to admit was a nice nap but there's the issue on getting out."

Hansel then question," Do you have an idea?" The girl smiles and she nods," I do. My name is Zatanna, daughter of Zatara and I promise I will get us you two out of here."

Zatanna waits just as the Blind Witch puts down a knife after cutting some ingredients before walking back, hissing out," Gravy or butter? Which shall it be?"

Just as the Blind Witch unlocks the cage, Zatanna loudly declares out," How about neither!"

Without warning, Zatanna unleashes a powerful blast of magic right into the Blind Witch, sending her crashing into a nearby table.

" Run!" Without needing to be told twice, both Hansel and Gretel rushes past as the Blind Witch pushes herself up, growling," Oh, hot oil for you then!"

" Sorry, trying to cut down." Zatanna smirks as the Blind Witch fires a blast of magic at Zatanna only for the girl to deflect the projectile with her wand.

Hansel then grabs the satchel and he calls out to Zatanna," Zatanna I got it! Let's go!"

" No! You won't escape!" The Blind Witch thrusts her hand out, attempting to use her magic to grab Hansel only to be held up by Zatanna's own magic.

Zatanna then thrusts her hand out, sending the Blind Witch flying right into her oven.

Zatanna then swings her wand, using her magic to lock the Blind Witch in, trapping her within her oven.

Slamming at the door of the oven, the Blind Witch frantically screams as the trio quickly runs out of the door," Let me out! Let me out! You come back right now! Let me out! Don't leave me here. Let me out!"

The Enchanted Forest. Past. Evil Queen's palace.

Back in her palace, The Evil Queen watches the Blind Witch through the Magic Mirror before throwing a ball of fire through the magic mirror, heating up the oven.

The Evil Queen smirks as she listens to the agonizing screams of the Blind Witch watching the witch ironically getting cooked alive before remarking out humorously," I would've gone gravy."

The Enchanted Forest. Past. Dark Palace.

Inside the palace, Hansel and Gretel walks in with the satchel as Zatanna asks them," Say who is that satchel for?"

However, as if on cue, Zatanna heard a familiar voice calling out to the two children," My dear children, were you successful in your task?"

" Wait." Zatanna widens her eyes and just as The Evil Queen appears, her eyes widens too as she growls," You!"

The Evil Queen signals to the guard behind Hansel and Gretel who then pull the children back before questioning Zatanna," What are you doing here? Where is your father?"

" I could say the same about you? What were you doing sending the kids into that witch's house?" Zatanna questioned back only for The Evil Queen to casually reply," I did what I had to do to get what I want. You have my thanks for making sure those children didn't become dinner. Now guards."

The guard takes the satchel from Gretel before walking past Zatanna, who watches as the guard hands it to the Evil Queen.

" I've waited for a very long time for this. Let's hope they didn't let me down." The Evil Queen puts her hand in the satchel, pulling out what reveals to be an apple and she smiles," Oh, they did it.

" Yeah, we did." Gretel nods as The Evil Queen compliments her," You've got a strong heart, girl. You remind me of myself at your age."

Hansel stares at the apple in confusion," We did all that, for an apple?"

The Evil Queen examines her apple and she walks to her chest, placing the apple inside as she explains to the children," Oh, trust me, dear, this is not just an apple. It's a weapon, a weapon for a particular and devious enemy. One who still under the delusion, that she's safe."

Zatanna then says to the Evil Queen," Whatever your plan is, you got what you want. You can keep me here but please send these kids back to where they come from."

" Yeah." Gretel walks up and she adds," And help us find our father."

However, the Evil Queen had other plans," Of course, to reunite your family so you can live happily ever after. You were left alone in the woods. You deserve better than a father who'd abandon you. So as a reward for surviving and getting me what I want, I've decided to invite the two of you to live with me, here."

Hansel widens his eyes at her offer," You mean, that we get to live in a castle?"

The Evil Queen nods," Yes, you would have your own rooms of course, personal carriages, valets, too. All of your dreams could come true."

However, Gretel refuses," No. We want our father back. He would never abandon us. And even if he did, we would never want to live with someone as terrible as you."

Angered by the girl's defiance, The Evil Queen growls," Is that so?"

Gretel nods in determination," Yes. We're going to find him, with or without your help. And when we do, we're going to prove you wrong."

The Evil Queen sneers at the girl," We'll see about that. Guards!"

Several guards rushes in only for Zatanna to thrust her arms out, sending a powerful force across the room.

The Evil Queen raises up her arm, shielding herself from the force as the same magnitude sends her guards sprawling onto the floor.

Angered, The Evil Queen thrusts her hand out, firing a blast of fireball at Zatanna, which ends up striking right into the girl.

" ARGHHHH!!!" Zatanna crashes onto the floor, knocked back by the attack just as The Evil Queen steps towards her.

Zatanna looks back at Hansel and Gretel before she urges the two," Run! Get out of there!"

Both Hansel and Gretel quickly runs down the stairs as The Evil Queen stood over Zatanna, fire blazing from her hand as she sneers," Not bad for a Daddy's little girl. Looks like that magician won't be here to save you."

However, before The Evil Queen could finish Zatanna off, suddenly, there was a flash of lightning and a sound of thunder, sending The Evil Queen reeling back.

The Evil Queen looks up, seething in anger as Zatara stood in front of Zatanna, shouting at her," That's enough your majesty!"" You!"

The Evil Queen growls as she summons another ball of flames," What is it this time magician? Ready to settle the score right here right now?"

" No." Zatara strongly states and he picks up his injured daughter, saying to Regina," I'm only here to take my daughter. I'll leave you to whatever you want to do but..."

Zatara narrows his eyes and he warns The Evil Queen," You better stay away from Snow White."

The Evil Queen growls," This isn't the last you will see of me Zatara, soon, everything you know and love will be taken from you."

Zatara doesn't reply, he just summons a puff of smoke before disappearing, leaving The Evil Queen alone in her room.

Storybrooke. Present. Street

Back on the streets, Emma tells Ava and Nicholas to get into her car while Regina and Henry watches them.

" Come on. It's gonna be..." Emma takes out the compass and she gives it back to Ava. saying to her," Here. I'm sorry. We gotta go."

Ava and Nicholas get into the car in silence as Emma shuts the door with anger.

Regina then looks down at Henry, saying to him," Let's go, Henry."

Henry shakes Regina's hand off his shoulder and runs up to the car window at the driver seat.

The boy clasps onto the window and he desperately begs his mother," No, you can't take them. They can't leave Storybrooke, Emma, they can't. Something bad will happen."

Emma looks at him and she says to him in a passive aggressive tone," Something bad has already happened."

Emma starts the engine and drives off while Regina watches with a mischievous smile on her face

Storybrooke. Present. Roadside

In Emma's car on the way to town border. Emma is driving while Ava and Nicholas sits at the back of her car.

Ava notices that Zatanna is missing and she asks Emma," Where's Zatanna?"

" She went home, she's far too upset to handle this right now." Emma explains to Ava.

Nicholas then adds," I like her, she's nice." Emma sadly agrees," Yeah, kid. She's cool. The coolest sister I could have."

However, right at that moment, the car suddenly becomes shaky and eventually stopping in the middle of the road.

" You gotta be kidding me." Emma curses out as Ava looks over, asking," What happened? What's wrong?"

" Engine stalled." Emma replies as she takes out her cellphone, dialing in the number while Ava asked," Who're you calling?"

" Help."

The Enchanted Forest. Past. Dark Palace.

The Evil Queen is looking at the magic mirror, watching Snow White as she fixes her hair after her scuffle with Zatara, questioning out in frustration," Now she's cavorting with dwarves? When did that happen?"

Just then, a guard enter the room and he informs her," Your majesty, the prisoner you requested is here."

" Bring him in." The Evil Queen clears the image on the mirror just as the guard brings in the prisoner, revealing to be the Woodcutter.

The Woodcutter struggles as he demands," I demand to be released. My children are in that forest that you took me from, alone. They could be in great danger."

The Evil Queen nods," Yes, I know all about your children. That compass you gave sweet little Gretel. Well, I'm afraid it didn't help her find you though now, did it?"

" Tell me where they are!" The Woodcutter shouts, moving forward in an attempt to get close to the Queen only to be stopped by a guard.

The Evil Queen sadistically tells the Woodcutter," Gone. I told them you abandoned them, leaving nothing but a compass to find their way. But I didn't bring you here to answer your questions. You're here to answer mine. I offered your children everything, whatever their hearts desire, and they still chose uncertainty because of their blind faith in you. Tell me why. Why did your children refuse me?"

Woodcutter strongly states," Because we're a family. And a families always finds one another."

The Evil Queen pauses, pondering his words for a while before she instructs her guards," Release him."

Dumbfounded, the Woodcutter asks her," You're letting me go?"

The Evil Queen however, tells him," You can all be together as a family as soon as you all find one another."

The Enchanted Forest. Past. The Infinite Forest .

In the Infinite Forest, both Hansel and Gretel stops as the two drops onto the floor, panting as Gretel says to her brother," I think we're safe."

Hansel looks around the forest and he cries out to his sister," I'm scared."

Gretel comforts him in an optimistic manner," Don't be. Everything will be fine."

(retel holds up her compass and smiles. Then she holds Hansel's hand and they find their way together, walking into a very large and vast forest.

The Enchanted Forest. Past. Zatara's Castle

Back in Zatara's castle, Zatara is tending to Zatanna's wound as he asks her," Where were you? Did you know I was worried sick?"

Zatanna looks down in shame as she apologizes to her father," I'm sorry father. I was careless in dealing with the blind witch."

Zatara places a hand on her shoulder and he smiles," It's okay, As long as you are safe, everything's fine. Now...do you have what I need."

Zatanna smiles and she holds up the bark of the enchanted tree, causing Zatara to smile, rubbing his hand over her hair as he praises her," Good job."

" Why do we need that bark father?" Zatanna asks and Zatara answers," Because there is a world I want to visit. A place where I can meet my hero."

Zatanna then looks out the window and she asks Zatara," Those kids, do you think they will be okay?"

Zatara answers," I do not know Zatanna. Though their future is uncertain, I still believe in due time, they will find their father."

Storybrooke. Present. Roadside

Back at the roadside, Emma's car on the way to town border Emma stood outside of the car while Ava and Nicholas sits inside.

Just then, Ava notices that the compass' needle began moving, prompting her to exclaim out," Nicholas, look!"

The needle points to the back of the car so they turn and look through the back window and sees a car approaching.

The car stops and the children sees Zatanna stepping out followed by Micheal.

Michael approaches the car and he asks Zatanna while pointing at the pair," Those are them?"

Zatanna nods as Micheal walks up to Emma, asking her," And the car? It's fine?"

Emma explains," The car's never really broken. I just wanted you to see them, just once. I didn't think I could do it either. I gave up Henry 'cause I wanted to give him his best chance. When I saw that he didn't have it, I couldn't leave. I was just as scared, more, probably. But once I saw him, got to know him, I couldn't go back."

Michael walks near the car to his children, asking her," You're taking them? To Boston?"

Emma shrugs," I don't have to."

Michael looks back to Ava and Nicholas, smiling at them as he made his decision," No, you don't have to."

Michael gets to the car and Ava lowers the window, greeting his children.

Emma smiles with joy while Zatanna began covering her eyes, sobbing out uncontrollably.

Emma looks to her sister and she pats her shoulder to comfort her, unaware of the real reason to Zatanna's outburst.

Micheal looks back as he takes both Ava and Nicholas, father, daughter and son reunited as they head towards his car.

Wiping away her tears, Zatanna then calls out to Micheal," Hey Micheal."

Micheal looks back as Zatanna tells him," If you ever need help with finances or anything, just let me know and I will help you. But for now, enjoy your time with your kids."

" Will do." Micheal nods as he takes Ava and Nicholas, walking back to his car.

Storybrooke. Present. Blanchard Apartment.

Mary Margaret is folding her clothes on her bed when Emma enters, prompting her to greet the blonde woman," Hey, what happened?"

" Their dad, he showed up, changed his mind." Emma explains as she lies on the bed.

" Changed his mind? Just like that?" Mary Margaret asked and Emma adds," It might had a little nudge. Zatanna made sure of it."

Mary Margaret smiles and she remarks," They found their father. That's great."

" I wonder what that would be like."

Mary Margaret looks at her and she asks," But what about the days with Zatanna's father?"

" I know and as much as I loved him, it's just not the same..." Emma feel a bit teary eyed as she expresses out," I kind of want to know how it would be to find my birth parents."

Mary Margaret optimistically says," Maybe you'll find out. You can't give up."

"I don't know." Emma comments out," I kinda think giving up might be the best plan. I think I need to let go."

" No, you don't."

" Really? If they wanted to know me, they wouldn't make it so hard to look." Emma pessimistically states.

Mary Margaret shrugs," Maybe. But maybe there's other reasons, maybe there's an explanation."

" There is something crazy, something even crazier than Henry's theory." Emma says, prompting Mary Margaret to ask," Yeah, what's Henry's theory?"

Emma explains," Well, that my parents put me in a magical wardrobe, and sent me to this world to save them."

Mary Margaret chuckles, finding this whole thing ridiculous," Ohhh, and who does he think they are?"

" Well, for one, you." Emma's answer instantly shocks Mary Margaret," Me?"

" Well, Snow White." Emma clarrifies which shocks Mary Margaret even further," Snow White has a kid?"

Emma then explains to Mary Margaret the difference the book had with both the original Snow White story and the Disney movie," Apparently that book you gave him, not exactly the stories in the most traditional sense."

Mary Margaret then comments out," If I have a kid. I'd think I remember that."" Yeah, you'd think." Emma comments out.

Mary Margaret studies Emma's features and she points out in a joking fashion," You do kind of have my chin."

The two both smile before Mary Margaret asks," Speaking of Zatanna, where is she?"

" Oh just hanging around Granny's. She's feeling rather emotional about this whole episode so I went home first."

" I hope she will be okay." Mary Margaret comments out and Emma agrees," Yeah, speaking of which..."

Emma gets off the bead and she told Mary Margaret," I think I need to go get some air. I'm gonna go think."

As Emma takes a manila envelope from the box that contains her baby blanket, Mary Margaret offers," If you're gonna be back late, I can wait to eat with you."

" No, don't do that." Emma refuses only for Mary Margaret to insist," I'll leave you leftovers."

Just as Emma is getting the keys, Mary Margaret catches sight of Emma's baby blanket before commenting out," What a pretty blanket!"

" Thanks, goodnight."

Just as Emma closes the door, Mary Margaret picks up the blanket and sniffs it.

A strange feeling of deja vu hits her but she doesn't know what it means. After a while, she puts it back in embarrassment.

Storybrooke. Present.

Inside her car, Emma is reading news cuts about her as a baby when she heard a familiar voice asking her," What's that?"

Emma looks, seeing Henry and Zatanna standing outside her car with Henry holding a white box

"Just an old file. What's up?" Emma replies as Henry answers," Pumpkin pie. I thought you'd like some."

" It was pumpkin, right?" Emma asks before she spoke," Henry, about your father."

Henry asks," Yeah."

Emma stares at her son's smiling and hopeful face, then looks up from Henry, staring at her sister before changing her mind of telling Henry the truth of his father," I'm glad that I told you."

" Me too." Henry then hugs Emma and both mother and son embraces while Zatanna adjusts her hat, not saying anything.

Quickly changing the subject, Emma grabs the box on Henry's hand," Give me that."

She then opens the box, takes out the pumpkin pie and bites down into it.

Henry turns to both his mother and aunt and he compliments them," What you did, with Ava and Nicholas, you really are changing things."

Both Emma and Zatanna smiles at him, proud that their presence has helped changed Storybrooke for the better.

However, right at this time, some sounds of a motorbike can be heard and a stranger on a motorbike drives forward.

He pulls off at the curb and he dismounts, approaching Emma, Zatanna and Henry, greeting them," Hey."

" Hey." Emma greets back

The stranger looks around and he questions further," Is this Storybrooke?"

" Yeah." Emma nods and the Stranger asks them," Any place to get a room around here?"

Henry stares at him in confusion," Uh, you're staying?" To which the man nods," That's the plan. I'm just looking for a bed."

Zatanna then points as she directs the man," Granny's Bed and Breakfast is just off the road, another two blocks."

The man smiles as he thanks her," Thank you."

As the stranger walks back to his bike, he turns to Zatanna and he greets her," By the way, nice to meet you Zatanna."

" Huh?" Confused, Zatanna stares at the man as Emma calls out to him," Hey, I didn't catch your name!"

" That's 'cause I didn't give it." The man answers as he gets on the bike before driving off.

Emma looks to Henry, saying," I thought you said strangers don't come to Storybrooke."

" They don't."

Confused, Emma and Henry then looks at Zatanna as Emma asks," Hey Zatanna, you know him?"" No." Zatanna answers only for Henry to add," But he seems to know you."

" That's the thing." Zatanna addresses," I don't know or recongnise him but something about him just feel familiar."
