Chapter 34: Tiny

Storybrooke, Present, The Blanchard Loft

Mr. Gold knocks on the door with his cane.

Emma Swan opens the door as Mr. Gold asks," Ready to go, Miss Swan?"

" Almost." Emma answers as she turns, seeing Henry Mills and Zatanna approaching.

Henry then asks Zatanna," Do you think it will be cold where we're going or warm?

" I think layers are always a good idea." Zatanna answers.

As Zatanna helps Henry with his jacket, Mr. Gold says to Emma," I thought the terms of our agreement were quite clear. You owe me a favor - you alone."

" I'm not leaving Henry here with Cora lurking about." Emma says.

" Well don't you have Zatanna here? Surely she can handle Cora." Mr. Gold asks but Emma shakes her head.

" I trust Zatanna but for Henry's safety, I'm not leaving him behind. She doesn't trust you so either all of us go or we both stay." Emma threatens.

Mr. Gold thinks and he sighs," Then we'll have to purchase two more plane tickets, won't we?"

" Wait. We're flying?" Emma questions out, taken aback as Mr. Gold assures her," Don't worry, I'm covering expenses, even the new ones."

Mary Margaret Blanchard approaches, giving Henry and Zatanna some sandwiches she prepared as David comes down the stairs, saying to Mr. Gold," You're a real gentleman, aren't you?"

David gives a bag to Emma and walks over to Mr. Gold, saying to him," All right, Gold. You're going out there with my family. Just know if anything happens to them..."

" Then you'll what? Cross the town line? And David Nolan will hunt me down in his animal rescue van?" Mr. Gold questions only for David to say," I'll be devastated. This isn't a threat. It's a request. Take care of them."

Mr. Gold assures him," I promise no harm will come to your family. After all...we have a deal."

Mr. Gold's Cadillac

Mr. Gold is driving out of town as Zatanna sits next to him while Emma and Henry sits at the back.

Henry then asks," So where are we going?"

" Logan International Airport." Mr. Gold answers only for Emma to clarify his question," I think he meant the one after that."

" Let's just take things one step at a time shall we?" Mr. Gold says as the car is approaching the town line.

Zatanna looks at Mr. Gold and she asks," Do you really think that shawl's gonna work?"

Mr. Gold shrugs, preparing to accept whatever his fate lies," Well, if it doesn't, and I revert to my cursed self, we're all gonna have some problems. It'll work.

Mr. Gold's car crosses the town line, and a blue light shimmers over him.

Emma and Henry silently looks as Zatanna then asks Mr. Gold to test out the magic," So? Who are you?"

Mr. Gold looks at her, remembering everything about himself and his mission and he answers," My name is Rumplestiltskin. And we're gonna find my son."

Blanchard's Loft

Right after Emma, Henry and Zatanna left the house, David is putting on a gun holster.

Mary Margaret stares at him and she asks," You like the holster, huh?"

David looks at it and he chuckles," I miss carrying a sword."

" Well it looks good on you." Mary Margaret smiles as she compliments how the holster looks on her husband.

" Come on. Leroy has the dwarves on Cora watch. Without Zatanna around, they could use our help." David says as he helps Mary Margaret put on her coat.

" Really? How hard can it be to find a powerful sorceress in a small town?" Mary Margaret as David opens the door, only to find Regina is standing outside it just nearly about to knock.

" Apparently not very hard." David remarks as Mary Margaret says to Regina," Regina, you're back."

" I know you think I'm responsible for poor Dr. Hopper's death." Regina says only for David to tell her," He's...alive."

" What?" Regina exclaims, surprised as Mary Margaret adds," You were framed."

" Who would do that?" Regina questions out, pretending to be surprised as Mary Margaret answers," Your mother. She's here."

" Well, that's...that's not possible." Regina says and Mary Margaret explains," When we found a way back, so did she."

Regina sighs and Mary Margaret apologizes to her," We were wrong, and we're so sorry."

" I know. But if Cora's here, then we're all in danger. Please, you have to let me see my son. I can protect him." Regina requests only for Mary Margaret to tell her," He's not here."

" What?" Regina questions out in shock and David explains to her," Mr. Gold asked Emma to help him find his son. They left town about an hour ago with Henry."

" And no one told me?" Regina questions out in outrage and Mary Margaret states," We didn't know where you were. And to be honest, Regina, I don't think Emma has to run anything by you."

Regina shakes her head in agreement," No, I suppose she doesn't."

Regina then turns, leaving the apartment.

Mary Margaret shuts the door and she remarks out to David," That went well."

" For her, it doesn't get much better. Come on. Let's go find Cora." David says, and Mary Margaret asks," Where?"

" No idea." David admits as he hands Mary Margaret her bow and arrows before answering," But I know who to ask."

Storybrooke Dock

David, Mary Margaret and Leroy have just released Captain Hook from the hospital and leading him to the docks to find his ship.

" You didn't even ask me about my recovery." Captain Hook says, prompting Mary Margaret to ask him," How are you feeling, Hook?"

" Come closer and feel for yourself." Captain Hook says but David pushes Captain Hook back, growling," You wanna lose the other hand? Where's the ship? Come on. Archie told us; it's shielded somehow, isn't it... mate?"

Captain Hook nods," Aye. That it is. Follow me. I don't know what you expect to find. Cora won't be there."

" Maybe she left something behind that will tell us where she went. Let's go." David commands as he pushes Captain Hook forward.

Leroy steps next to Captain Hook and he growls," No funny business. I'm watching you, pirate."

" Yes, dwarf. That should deter me from any malfeasance." Captain Hook sarcastically remarks to Leroy.

" Oh, don't worry, Leroy. He'll help us." Mary Margaret assures Leroy which causes Captain Hook to ask," What makes you so sure?"

Mary Margaret answers," Because you're a pirate. You know which way the wind blows, and right now, it is gusting towards us."

" Oh, I see where your daughter got her gumption." Captain Hook comments out as he looks at David and smirks," Follow me."

He pushes Leroy aside and climbs the invisible stairs that lead to his ship.

Jolly Roger

David is climbing down the stairs that lead onto the main deck.

Leroy looks around the Jolly Roger and he asks Captain Hook," You sailed this ship from our land. Can you sail it back?"

Captain Hook stares at Leroy," My ship? She's a marvel. Made from enchanted wood. We weathered many a storm together, seeing many strange glittering shores. But to travel between lands, she must go through a portal."

" Yeah. What do you know about Cora's plans?" David questions.

" Cora's not the most communicative of lasses. But let me tell you this: whatever malice she has in mind, her weapon of choice is in here." Captain Hook explains.

He taps on something that is covered by a cloth. Leroy and David remove the cloth from the object to reveal a cage.

Leroy looks inside to see the Giant now human sized, sitting inside as Mary Margaret asks Captain Hook," Who's that?"

The Enchanted Forest, Giants' Lair, Past

Anton runs to the dinner table as a bell rings.

One of the Giants named Arlo notices Anton and he says to him," Ah, you're late, Tiny."

" Missed you out in the fields, Tiny." Another Giant by the name of Abraham says.

As all the giants begin to snatch food from the center of the table, Anton corrects Abraham," It's Anton."

Abraham simply laughs," But you're just so damn tiny, Tiny."

Arlo quickly stops the two,"  All right, enough squabbling. Now today we celebrate. After a century of hard labor, the time of the bean harvest has finally arrived."

All the giants cheer, except for Anton who simply lets out an unenthusiastic," Yay."

" But is a blossom more than its root? Is a harvest more important than a hard day's work? No. Each has value... just as each of us has value. Hear, hear." Arlo concludes his speech and all the giants toast except for Anton.

" Hear, hear." Abraham toasts and all the giants repeats," Hear, hear. Hear, hear. "

As Anton rises for the toast, a musical clang is heard. A golden harp has dropped from Anton's sleeve.

Arlo notices it and he questions Anton," You've been spending time in the treasure room again, haven't you?"

" No." Anton denies only for Arlo to stares at him with a look of disbelief.

" Maybe. So say that I was. So what?" Anton questions out and Arlo reprimands," Your fascination with humans and their artifacts is misguided. No good can come of it."

" How can you say that, when you've never even been to their world? And you won't even let any of us go down there." Anton argues, prompting Arlo to question him," Have you forgotten what the humans did? Why we no longer trade beans with them? They weren't content merely traveling between the realms. They had to conquer and pillage."

" Because a few humans did some bad stuff doesn't make them all evil." Anton says.

Arlo explains," They don't abide by the same laws that we do, Anton. We giants foster life. They destroy it. That is why they must never know that we still exist or that we still grow the beans."

" But why do we keep growing them... if nobody ever uses 'em?" Anton questions.

Anton's question causes all the Giants to quieten down, silently pondering what Anton asked.

Arlo then gives an answer," It's what we do."

" We don't do anything with them." Anton expresses out and Arlo explains," It is the labor that makes us who we are, not the fruit that it yields."

Abraham picks up the harp. Anton reaches to get it back, but fails as his brother questions out," What is this? A human toy?"

" Put it down." Anton demands only for Abraham to crush the harp with his hand, expressing out in a mocking tone," Oh. Not much fun, is it?"

" Abraham, that is enough." Arlo scolds his brother but an angry Anton runs off, ignoring another giant calling out to him," Tiny, come on."

Upset, Anton runs towards the beanstalk.

He begins to climb down it, descending into the human world.

Storybrooke, Present, Jolly Roger

Leroy, Mary Margaret, David, and Hook stare at the caged Anton and Leroy theorizes over why the Giant is so small." So Cora used magic to make him travel-sized."

" Whatever she intends to do with him, it's important." Captain Hook says and David looks at him," Oh, I think you know exactly what she intends. You're holding out."

" Well, either have your lovely wife torture it out of me, which I promise will be fun for both..." Captain Hook wasn't able to conclude his comment as David grabs him by the throat, growling," Why don't you and I have some fun?"

" I don't know what she's planning. Why don't you wake the bloody giant and ask him yourself?" Captain Hook suggest and

Mary Margaret takes the key to the cage from him.

She opens the cage, shaking Anton awake," Hey."

Anton wakes up, jumping back, startled as Mary Margaret assures him," It's all right. You're safe now."

As Anton climbs out of the cage, Mary Margaret asks," What's your name?"

" Anton." Anton introduces himself and he looks around for any sign of Cora," Where's that witch?"

" She's gone." Mary Margaret asks as Anton looks at himself, realizing he's not gigantic anymore," What did she do? She made me small."

David grabs Anton's shoulder to turn him around, saying to him," Come on. Let's get you outta here."

However, upon laying eyes on David, Anton's eyes widens in recognition and he growls," You."

" Me?" David questions, confused as Anton shouts," You! Uhh!"

He throws an uppercut, sending David flying backwards over a railing on deck.

" David!" Mary Margaret cries out and Leroy dashes toward Anton," Hey! Hey, over here, you big..."

" Aah!" Anton screams as he throws Leroy down the stairs of the ship. causing him to hit his head.

Anton walks down the stairs to continue his attack on David.

David pulls a gun from his holster, but Anton kicks it away.

At that moment, an arrow whooshes by Anton's shoulder, grabbing his attention.

He turns to see Mary Margaret pointing a loaded bow at him.

" Step away from my husband." Mary Margaret commands.

" You may have me outnumbered, but this isn't over." Anton says to Mary Margaret before turning back to David," You think I forgot what you did? I didn't. You'll pay for your evil. I promise you'll pay!"

With that, Anton dashes out of the ship.

Storybrooke General Hospital

Belle is sitting in a chair watching television in the day room, listening as Bill Godwin says on the television," Hey there, folks. Bill Godwin here. Be sure to tune in to "Good Morning, Storybrooke" every day at 7:00 AM. And now back to "Expose.""

At that moment, Ruby enters, carrying a basket and she greets Belle," Hey."

Belle turns toward Ruby. There's a period of silence as Belle wonders what she wants.

" You don't remember me, do you?" Ruby asks and Belle awkwardly shakes her head," Um... sorry, no I... I don't."

Ruby sets down her basket and sits in a chair next to Belle and she introduces herself," I'm Ruby."

She turns off the TV and she explains to Belle," You used to come into my granny's diner a lot before. Anyway, I... thought you could use some comforts from home."

She reaches into her basket and pulls out a book, continuing," You were always telling me about Jules Verne, so I brought you my favorite—"The Mysterious Island.""

Belle takes the book, warily asking," Thank you. Well... were we really friends?"

" Yeah, we were." Ruby nods.

" Then tell me the truth. Before I was brought here, I was hurt. I was bleeding, and then this man came. And he... he healed me. Then I saw him hold a ball of fire in his hands. How? How is that possible?" Belle questions and Ruby simply says," The nurse said that the tranquilizers can give you wicked nightmares."

Belle shakes her head, panicking," No, I know what I saw. And I don't need any more tranquilizers or..."

" Belle..." Ruby calls but Belle lashes at her," Don't call me that. Why does everyone keep calling me that? I don't..."

Belle is grabbed by the severe nurse who tries to restrain her as she thrashes her body to free herself," I'm fine, I don't..."

As the commotion took place, Greg steps out, standing silently watching the conflict happen as the Severe Nurse tries to calm Belle down," Take it easy. Take it easy."

As she finally gets Belle back in her chair, Ruby asks her," Has she been like this the whole time?"

The Severe Nurse injects Belle with a tranquilizer and she replies," More or less. We've had to keep her heavily sedated."

" Okay, let's get you back to bed. Now here we go." The Severe Nurse says as she gets Belle to stand, saying to her," There."

As the Severe Nurse begins to lead Belle back to her room, Greg then approaches Ruby, questioning about the commotion that took place," Everything okay in here?"

" Everything's fine, Mr. Mendell. She's all right. How are you?" Ruby asks and Greg smiles, replying back," Much improved."

" Well, then rest up. The sooner you're better, the sooner you can be out of our quiet little town." Ruby states.

Granny's Diner

After the situation at the Jolly Roger, Mary Margaret, David, and Leroy sits at a booth, discussing the events that happened.

" David. Did that giant just say he'll make you pay? For what?" Mary Margaret questions and David replies, as confused as all of them are," I have no idea. I've never seen that guy before."

" Well, he sure knows you." Leroy points out.

David thinks for a moment, remembering about a twin brother he used to have and he says," No. It's not about me. He just thinks it is."

The Enchanted Forest, Past, King George's Castle

Prince James sits in his room, having a girl on his lap where they are busy kissing each other.

Prince James pulls away and he smiles at the girl," You are a true wonder."

" I know." The girl replies, causing Prince James to chuckle.

He picks her up and carries her to his bed to continue their make out session when

King George enters the room, stunned upon seeing the girl," I didn't know you had company, James."

" Father." Prince James exclaims, startled before he quickly introduces King George to the girl," This is my father, the king. Father, this is..."

King George however, isn't concern about his son's affairs," I don't care. The kingdom is teetering on bankruptcy. The name of your latest dalliance is of little concern to me."

" Pleasure to meet you, too, your majesty." The girl greets King George who greets her back," Good day."

" Care for a drink, Father?" Prince James offer and King George says," There'll be time for that later. Right now there's trouble afoot. I just received word that there's a giant running amok in the outer village."

Prince James narrows his eyes upon hearing what his father said," I thought giants were extinct."

" I'd love the chance to battle one." The girl expresses out excitedly and King George stops her," No. No killing. Not yet, anyway. This giant could be of use to us."

Prince James then tell King George," Just tell me what needs to be done."

Storybrooke, Present, Granny's Diner

Mary Margaret and David are sitting the booth as Leroy has gone to the bathroom for a cold towel for his head.

Mary Margaret then remembers about James and she says," Your brother. That's who he thinks you are."

David nods," It's the only thing that makes sense."

Mary Margaret sighs and David gets up from the booth," Come on."

" Where are we going?" Mary Margaret as David answers," To find out just what kind of trouble my brother got himself into."

Leroy returns with a towel over his head, David instructs him," Leroy, get your head looked at and gather the dwarves. You need to keep an eye out for this giant."

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Pub

The giant Anton crouches down, looking through the window of a pub, watching as the pub's patrons are laughing and having a good time.

Feeling very alone, he starts to walk away.

Just as he is walking,  Anton heard a voice calling out to him," If you want some ale, you should ask! They'll serve anyone who can pay, my friend."

Anton turned, seeing Prince James accompanied with a girl and he introduces himself," I'm James, Prince of this realm. I wanted to make sure you received a warm welcome."

Anton looks down and he introduces himself," I'm Anton. I'm a Giant."

Prince James laughs, amused by Anton," Now I can see that. What brings you to our land?"

Anton explains," I've always been fascinated with your customs. I just wanted to see it for myself."

" Well, we would be... more than happy to show you around. Of course, there's the matter of your size." Prince James points out and Anton shrugs, knowing about how massive he is compared to everything around him," I'm too small for back home. I'm too big for here."

" Don't despair, Anton. I have something that may help you." The girl offers, causing Anton to ask," What is it?"

She pulls out a magic mushroom, showing it to Anton and she answers," Magic. A piece of mushroom from a far-off land. I once slayed a jabberwock that was terrorizing a village, and they...they couldn't pay me in gold, so they paid me with this instead. If you eat it, it will change your size. Its effects are temporary, but we have more."

She drops the mushroom into Anton's hand and she says," I'm pretty sure this one makes you smaller."

Anton stares at her, warily," Pretty sure?"

The girl shrugs," Well, I haven't had the occasion to try it, but the wise woman who gave it to me swore by its power."

" Go on, Anton. Give it a try." Prince James asks.

" I have no way to repay you for your kindness." Anton says and the girl simply smiles," No need. If it makes you happy, that's all the payment that we desire."

" Well, then at least tell me your name." Anton asks the girl introduces herself,"Jacqueline. But... most people call me "Jack.""

Anton smiles back at her," Nice to meet you, Jack."

The Land Without Magic. Boston, Logan International Airport

Emma, Zatanna, Henry, and Mr. Gold are going through security.

Henry then asks Mr. Gold," Have you ever been outside of Storybrooke before, Mr. Gold?"

" No." Mr. Gold answers.

" Are you nervous?" Henry asks and Mr. Gold replies, visibly holding back his anger," No."

" Are you worried about meeting you son?" Henry asks which causes

Mr. Gold to explode in anger," No, Henry, I'm fine."

Emma quickly tries to calm the situation down," How about we talk about this later, kid? We're next."

" It must be really hard not to use magic, being like everyone else." Henry says to Mr. Gold.

Emma then says to Mr. Gold," You've gotta put your shoes in."

" How terribly uncivilized." Mr. Gold remarks out in disgust.

As Zatanna and Henry goes through the metal detector. Mr. Gold puts his shoes in the x-ray machine bin.

However, the Security Officer stops Mr. Gold, saying to him," Uh, scarf and the cane go in the basket."

Mr. Gold froze upon hearing that," What?"

" Scarf and cane go in the basket." The Security Officer repeats.

Mr. Gold turns to Emma, saying to her in a worried tone," I can't."

" You have to." Emma says.

" It ain't rocket science, buddy. You ever been on a plane before?" A man from behind them questions out, causing Mr. Gold to turn back and question the man rudely," Have you ever been impaled upon a cane before?"

Emma quickly tries to calm the situation down by lying to the man," My... father's a little nervous. We're headed to a family reunion. Sorry."

Mr. Gold stares at Emma, weirded out by her choice of words," Your father?"

Emma says to Mr. Gold in a lowered voice," Just put your shawl in the bin. I'll help you get through."

Mr. Gold says, worried about what will happen without his magical shawl," If I let this go, I could forget who I am."

" I'm not gonna let that happen." Emma assures him.

Mr. Gold pauses for a moment to consider what Emma has just said, before letting out a sigh," Okay."

He puts his cane and shawl in the bin.

Immediately, he feels pounding in his head and becomes physically unstable, feeling the effect of The Land Without Magic affecting him.

He manages to make it through the metal detector with Emma close behind.

She quickly pulls the shawl from Mr. Gold's bin and places it back around his neck.

Emma stares at him with a concerned look; seeking reassurance that he is all right. Though winded, Mr. Gold nods.

Both Emma and Mr. Gold were interrupted by Henry shouting to them, unaware of what has happened," Guys, there's a Cinnabon's here!"

Storybrooke Docks

Hook places a Queen of Hearts playing card on the ground. He begins looking around for Cora only for Regina to appear behind Hook, surprising him.

" Hello, Hook." Regina greets him and Captain Hook acknowledges her," Regina."

Regina sneers as she asks Captain Hook while asking," Expecting my mother? The one you were supposed to kill?"

" Oh, that. Well, I didn't want to deprive you of a happy reunion." Captain Hook says but Regina tells him," Well, it's your lucky day. She and I have made amends."

" And you're here to thank me? How sweet." Captain Hook remarks out sarcastically.

"She wants to know if they've found the ship." Regina asks and Captain Hook states," Well, you can tell her she can ask me herself."

Regina explains to Captain Hook," She decided it wouldn't be prudent for her to be out and about."

" Well, then it is my lucky day." Captain Hook comments out," And you can tell her they found the ship."

" Did you get her things off it?" Regina questions.

" I've been tied up in bed, and not in the good way." Captain Hook says and Regina states," She needs her things."

" Oh, I'll bet she does. Oh, that's good news then. A giant got loose from the hold."

What Captain Hook says cause Regina to look at him, incredulously questioning," You lost a giant?"

" Well, a shrunken giant." Captain Hook clarifies.

" How is that good news?" Regina questions out and Captain Hook explains, remembering what he saw," Because... when he got free, he took one look at the Prince and became extremely murderous."

Regina thought for a while, finding the logic in letting a giant on the loose," Hmm. A giant in town who wants to kill the Prince. This is just the distraction we need."

" That it is, dear." Captain Hook nods.

Street

Anton is walking in the middle of the street.

Cars are beeping and swerving around him as he looks around, panicking at the discovery of this new world he found himself in.

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Tavern

Prince James, Jack and a now human sized Anton enters the Tavern.

The sound of laughter and drunkenness of the pub's patrons filling the room.

" Much better to be on the inside, huh?" Prince James asks Anton. He pulls up a chair at a vacant table, offering it to the Giant," Please. You're the guest of honor."

Anton sits down, surprised by the notion," No fighting for a seat at the table. If my brothers could see me now."

" I'm not so sure about this family of yours, Anton. It doesn't sound like they appreciate you." Jack comments out and Anton shrugs," They're not so bad. Except for the... making fun of me. And the pushing me around. And the harsh words."

Anton thought for a while before he admits," Well, yeah, it's sorta bad."

Prince James places a hand on Anton's shoulder and he says to him," Sometimes you have to leave home to find the people you... truly belong with. Your real family."

" It's like you were always meant to be here, Anton." Jack adds.

Prince James pats Anton on the shoulder, saying to Jack," Now... make sure our Anton has all that he needs."

Prince James leaves the table.

Anton sees a harp being played and upon hearing the melody, he says to Jack," I had one of those once. I never knew it made such beautiful music. My brothers are so wrong about humans."

Prince James spoke to a man far off at the bar," It's unacceptable. Go back there and tell him what I said. Promise him anything. I don't care."

Anton notices the commotion and asks Jack," Is there a problem?"

Jack answers," He didn't tell you, did he? The royal coffers are empty. James and his father are deeply in debt to a neighboring kingdom."

" I don't understand." Anton says and Jack simplifies Prince James' predicament," If James can't pay back what he owes, they'll plunder this realm and burn it to the ground."

Anton's eyes widens in horror, now understanding how dire the Prince's situation is," Now I understand."'

Jack nods," It's bad."

" Will the other kingdom only accept gold coins?" Anton asks and Jack answers," Well, it depends. A magic bean, for instance, would be worth a thousand coins, but you don't have any of those back home... do you?"

Anton shakes his head," No. No beans. We do have treasure. Enough to pay off your debts, I bet."

Jack's expression brightens as she asks Anton," You'd help us?"

Anton nods," Without question. If I'm gonna stay here for good, might as well make sure it's a nice kingdom and not, you know... burned to the ground."

Jack chuckles and gives Anton a kiss on the cheek, smiling as she says to him appreciatively," You are our hero."

Storybrooke Wilderness Park, Present, Pond

Anton is sitting down listlessly over a pond.

Regina approaches the giant and upon seeing her, he stands up quickly and shouts."Get away from me!"

" I'm here to help you." Regina says but Anton doesn't believe her," No. You're human. I hate humans."

Regina takes two steps forward and Anton shouts at her threateningly," Don't come any closer! Or I'll kill you."

Regina chuckles out, unintimidated by Anton's threats," Look, I hear you're in town 'cause you wanna kill someone. I can help. I have no love for this prince either, and if you wanna destroy this town to get to him, well, I'm happy to do my part."

She pulls a piece of a mushroom out of her pocket, offering it to Anton," This will make you bigger. It will return you to your former glory."

Anton hesitantly takes the mushroom from her and takes a bite.

Blue smoke swirls around him, causing Regina to let out a wicket laugh.

Anton grew back into his original gigantic proportions and Regina commands," Now get to work! As I'm sure you're aware, that mushroom won't last forever."

Anton thuds away to wreck havoc across Storybrooke.

Logan International Airport

Meanwhile at the Airport, Mr. Gold is pacing as Emma, Zatanna and Henry sit waiting for their flight.

Emma then asks Mr. Gold," Do you want something to eat?"

Mr. Gold turns her down," No."

" Something wrong?" Emma asks and Mr. Gold angrily states," Stop asking me that. I'll be right back."

Mr. Gold stands up and heads to the restroom, leaving Emma and Zatanna looking at each other.

Mr. Gold enters the mens room and looks into the mirror.

He then proceeds to a stall locking the door to the stall and begins to pace around.

When Mr. Gold stops pacing, he takes his anxiety out on a metal dispenser, punching it repeatedly until it is thoroughly dented and his hand is bleeding.

He puts his hand over his wound, attempting to heal his hand with magic like he usually does in Storybrooke, but it doesn't work.

Mr. Gold looks worried, realizing he does not have magic outside the borders of Storybrooke.

At that moment, Henry enters the bathroom, unaware of what has happened and he calls out for Mr. Gold in a singsongy fasion," Mr. Gold? Mr. Gold? We're boarding soon. Are you comin'?"

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Giant's Lair

Anton is filling a giant-sized bag with treasure when Arlo walks up from behind him, asking him," Anton. Anton, where have you been? We were worried."

" I needed to get away for a little while. So... I went down below to see things for myself." Anton said, which causes Arlo to exclaim out in shock," You went to the human world? Do you have any idea how dangerous that could be?"

" I met friends there—friends who understand me, who like me. And I plan to go back for good." Anton says angrily.

Arlo sighs out," Anton... I know we tease you. But we love you. You're our brother. You know that. You expect these humans to just welcome you with open arms? You could crush them."

Anton says to Arlo defensively," There's magic that can change me to their size. And with this treasure, we can all be happy."

All of a sudden, birds can be heard cawing, causing Arlo to gasp," Sentry birds. Someone has trespassed on our land. You told the humans you were coming here, didn't you? You showed them the beanstalk."

Storybrooke, Present, Street

On the streets, Mary Margaret and David are searching for Anton, who can be heard terrorizing residents of Storybrooke.

" That's right! Run!" Anton roars, picking up a car as he shouts," RUN!"

He throws the car, sending it flying across the air.

" Ohh!" Mary Margaret exclaims out as the car crashes behind her and David.

As Anton walks off, Mary Margaret and David follow him.

David calls out to the residents of Storybrooke," Head to the town hall! Bring anyone you find on the way. Somebody get Leroy."

Mary Margaret turns to David and she says," Guess we found our giant. I just didn't think he would be so..."

" ...giant?" David asks and Mary Margaret remarks," My mistake."

" Ever stop one before?" David questions only for Mary Margaret to simply answer honestly," Nope."

" Well... here's to new firsts." David states before he turns to Anton, calling out to him," Wait!"

Anton hears him and turns around, seeing David telling him," You don't have to do this!"

Anton disagrees," Yeah, I do. You destroyed everything in my life. Now you're gonna know what that feels like."

David then reveals the truth to Anton," The man who hurt you...that wasn't me. That was my twin brother James. We were separated at birth. He was raised by a... a ruthless king."

Leroy runs up beside Mary Margaret, the pair watching as Anton looks at David in confusion," You're not James?"

" No!" David says and Anton looks around, questioning out," Then where is he?"

" He paid the ultimate price for his arrogance. He's dead! There is nothing more you can do to him." David answers.

Mary Margaret goes up and she adds," We're on your side, Anton! We're good! We're here because of you. You know our friend Zatanna. You gave her the magic compass."

" Zatanna?" Anton gasps, remembering her.

He lowers himself down and he requests," Let me talk to her. She says you're okay, then I'll stop."

Mary Margaret realizes there is one problem and she answers," She's kind of out of town!"

" Really?" Anton questions back, unconvinced.

" But when she gets back, I know she'll really wanna talk to you." Mary Margaret tries to convince

Anton but his expression darkens," How convenient. Everyone I'm looking for isn't around! All you humans do is lie and cheat and kill, and I'm sick of it!"

He starts running toward Mary Margaret and David, causing her to scream out in terror," Aah!"

The trio then began running from the thundering giant.

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Giant's Lair

Prince James and Jack have just finished climbing the beanstalk.

Arlo comes rushing out of the castle in the clouds with Anton right behind him where he points at the pair," Humans. Let's kill them."

" It's not like that." Anton protests as he gets in front of Arlo to slow him down., saying to him," Arlo, these are my friends, James and Jack."

Anton then turns to Prince James and Jack and he says to them," Guys, you didn't have to come up here. The treasure's ready to go."

Prince James laughs out maliciously,

" Oh, we're not here for the treasure. We're here for the beans—all of them."

Anton gasp, horrified at this sudden betrayal," But... you're my friends. How..."

" No," Jack interrupts him as she draws her sword, stating," We're not. If you and your people wanna save your lives, take us to the beans."

Arlo refuses, not surrendering to the woman's threats," No. We may live in peace, but we will fight to protect what is ours."

" Then a fight is what you shall have." Prince James states as he too draws his sword.

Storybrooke, Present, Streets

Leroy, Mary Margaret, and David are running from Anton as he chases the trio.

While running, Leroy asks David," So let me get this straight. You got a twin brother?"

" Yeah." David answers and Leroy asks further," His name is James?"

" Right." David nods and Leroy says," Well, your name is James."

David looks at him, correcting him," No, actually, it's not."

Anton suddenly gets tangled in a set of power lines, causing him to grunt out," Uhh!"

" It's "Charming," then?" Leroy asks only for Mary Margaret to clarify," No, that's the nickname I gave him!"

Confused, Leroy then asks David," Hey, hold on. What the hell is your name?"

" David."

" Your curse name?" Leroy questions and David replies," My real name."

" What, you're David, James, and Charming? Is David like a middle name?" Leroy questions, more confused than ever and

David shakes his head," No! It's my name name!"

Leroy stops and he exclaims out, having enough of this mind game," You know what? Whatever, I'm gonna call you whatever I damn well please! Is that okay?"

David notices Anton frees himself from the power lines and he quickly agree to Leroy's terms," Sure, Leroy."

Mary Margaret asks," So what's the plan?"

" Lead the giant away from here so he can't hurt anyone." David instructs and Mary Margaret protests," But if we keep heading in this direction, we're gonna hit the town line!"

" Okay, new plan." David says as he, Leroy and Mary Margaret stop running.

They have reached the docks.

As Anton approaches, David turns and starts walking toward Anton, causing Mary Margaret to question out," What are you doing?"

" Giving him what he wants." David answers before turning to face Anton, " Anton! How about we make a deal?"

" I don't make deals with humans." Anton refuses and David says to him," Just hear me out. I'll surrender myself to you if you spare the lives of everyone in Storybrooke."

Mary Margaret rushes to his side, protesting the notion," David, you can't do this."

David turns to Mary Margaret, saying to her," If I don't, the whole town will suffer. I can't allow that."

He then turns back to Anton," Well, what do you say?"

Anton thinks it over before accepting his offer," Deal."

Anton runs at him, leaping up as he tries to jump on David when Mary Margaret moves in, pulling David out of the way.

Anton misses and the force he created with his landing creates a large hole that Anton gets stuck in.

All of a sudden, the effect of the magic mushroom wears off and in a swirl of blue smoke, Anton disappears from sight.

Mary Margaret looks around, confused by the sudden disappearance of the Giant," Where did he go?"

" I'm not sure." David says as he, Mary Margaret, and Leroy peer inside the hole.

Anton, now shrunken back to human size is hanging onto a broken pipe to keep himself from falling.

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Giant's Lair

Anton runs in carrying a giant-sized ax and sword while Arlo runs in behind him.

Arlo says to Anton," Anton. The human armies are overrunning us. Abraham and Andre have fallen. The human swords are poison."

Anton looks down, feeling guilty for trusting the humans," This is all because of me. I've ruined everything."

Arlo however, states," No, you still have a chance to save us."

" How?" Anton asks and Arlo instructs him," The beans, Anton. You must raze the fields."

Upon hearing that, Anton refuses the notion of destroying his brother's work," No."

Arlo grabs him and he says to him urgently," If the humans take the beans, they will bring their violence to every realm. It is your birthright to protect the beans. Right now that means destroying them."

Storybrooke, Present, Parking Lot

Anton is hanging from a broken pipe in the hole he created.

David backs a truck up next to the hole.

Residents of Storybrooke are there to assist with the rescue, including Leroy, Granny, and Mary Margaret.

" That better hold." David says as Leroy holds onto a rope, assuring him," It'll hold."

Granny grabs one end of the rope, saying," I got this."

She attaches it to the truck's hitch.

Leroy drops the rope down the hole and residents of Storybrooke take hold of the rope.

Mary Margaret kisses David, proud of his willingness to help Anton despite the rampage he caused," Most people would let that giant die after what he's done."

" You wouldn't." David smiles back.

He picks up the rope, declaring out," All right."

He wraps some slack rope around his waist, saying to Anton," All right, Anton! I'm coming down!"

With that, he repels down the hole.

Once he is at the same level as Anton, David reaches out his hand," Take my hand."

" No!" Anton refuses, surprising David," No?"

" I don't want to go back up there! I should just let go!" Anton cries out and David tells him," You'll die!"

Anton simply says," Maybe death hurts less than life."

David isn't convinced," If you really wanted to die, you would have let go already. Now take my hand."

Anton grabs David's hand and Leroy commands to the residents of Storybrooke," Come on."

The residents start pulling the rope, pulling both Anton and David up.

Mary Margaret watches, encouraging the residents," Almost! A little more!"

With one more pull, the residents finally get Anton and David out of the hole.

Panting, Anton looks at Mary Margaret, saying to her," You saved my life."

Mary Margaret smiles," That's what we do."

" Thank you." Anton thanks the residents and Leroy accepts his gratitude," You're welcome."

David then says to Anton," We're not all the same, Anton. I don't know what my brother did to you, but... that's not us."

Anton exhales out, remembering the traumatizing things Prince James did to him in the past,
" You have no idea."

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Giant's Lair

Arlo and Jack are locked in battle as Arlo swings his blade as Jack slides underneath it.

Meanwhile, Prince James is filling a sack full with treasure.

Jack thrusts her sword into Arlo's heel, causing him to cry out in pain," Aah! Ha!"

Arlo pulls the sword out from his heel.

He lunges forward and grabs Jack, causing her to scream out," AAH! James! Aah!"

James turns and sees she needs help, but he just stands there.

She grunts as she tries to free herself.

Arlo takes the same sword Jack used on him and he brings it down, stabbring her with her own sword.

" UHH!" Jack grunts out in pain and Arlo drops her onto the floor.

With his companion dead, Prince James goes back to filling his sack at a faster rate than before.

But despite his victory over Jack, Arlo felt the poison of the sword beginning to take effect, causing him to lose his balance and collapses.

At that moment, Anton enters after performing his task, calling out for his brother," Arlo?"

Anton looks around, only to see Arlo lying on the ground.

" No." Anton falls to his knees next to Arlo, crying out to his brother," No, no, no, no!"

As Anton mourns his dying brother, Prince James finishes filling his sack and starts to run toward the beanstalk.

Jack looks up, barely alive and she calls out to Prince James," James!"

Prince James stops and he looks, seeing Jack putting her hand up as she begs for him to help," Please."

Prince James doesn't help, instead, apologising in a rather unguilty tone," I'm sorry, Jack. But I have a kingdom to run. I'm sure you understand."

Prince James runs off and Jack lets out a weak groan before lying flat, dead.

Arlo looks up to Anton, using his last dying breath to ask," Anton... the poison. It's in my blood. Did you..."

Anton quickly answers," All destroyed. The fields and every last bean."

Arlo nods," Oh, good. Good. That's what's important."

Anton shakes his head, not willing to let the only family he has left to die," No. Everyone else is dead. You can't die, too, please."

Arlo holds onto Anton and he wheezes," I know your path is hard. But someday you will know which road to choose. And when you do..."

He pulls out a vial, finishing his sentence," You will need this. A preserved cutting from the stalk."

As Anton takes the vial, Arlo instructs him," Plant it. New beans will grow."

Anton looks at his brother in doubt," But you had me salt the land. Nothing can grow here."

" Then someday you will find... new land." That was all the words Arlo could muster before his head

" How? Arlo? Arlo?!" Anton whispers, crying as he realizes that his brother is dead," No."

Storybrooke, Present, Granny's Diner

Leroy, Granny, Anton, Mary Margaret, Ruby, and David enter and Leroy introduces the establishment to Anton," This is Granny's. She makes a mean lasagna and runs an inn, so I'm sure we can set you up with a room till you find a place."

Anton smiles, turning down the offer," Thanks, but I think I'll set up camp in the woods."

" The woods?" Leroy questions out and Anton nods," Yeah, I'm better off alone. I'm not too good at fitting in."

" You're in the right place. Storybrooke's got all kinds—dwarves, fairies, werewolves, you name it." Leroy says before he places his order to Ruby," Ruby, beers all around."

Mary Margaret says to Anton," We all miss our land, Anton. But this is our home now.

" You never think about going back?" Anton questions and Mary Margaret admits," Of course we do. It's just not possible."

" We have no way to get there." David adds to his wife's statement.

Anton thought for a while and he asks David," How's the farmland here?"

" Pretty good. Why?" David questions, confused.

Anton reaches for his pocket, taking out the vial Arlo gave him.

" The stem is from a beanstalk. If I plant it, it should be able to grow some magic beans. And then you just may have a way. " Anton states.

Field

David, and Mary Margaret are standing in a field.

Anton is examining the dirt and David asks," Well, what's the verdict?"

Anton pats his hands clean and he answers," Soil's got a nice loamy feel. Lot of minerals. The beans should grow well here. Only one problem."

Leroy and the other dwarves approach, except for Mr. Clark who is absent as Mary Margaret questions," What's that?"

Anton answers," Cora. This is why she brought me. She wanted me to grow beans. So whatever she plans to do with them... can't be good."

" Then we won't let her get to them." Mary Margaret assures him and Leroy agrees," No one touches our crop."

Anton stares at Leroy in confusion," Your crop? I thought you guys were miners."

Leroy explains," Work is work. It's what we do. So what do you say? You up for some help?"

" Okay." Anton accepts the work offer and Leroy calls out to Happy," Happy!"

As if one cue, Happy hands Anton a pickax as Leroy introduces Anton to his new tool," Here. To help break up the earth."

Anton takes the pickax and he notices that the word "Tiny" appears on it.

" "Tiny." My brothers used to call me that." Anton smiles and Leroy shrugs," Ax never lies."

David then questions out," Wait a second. I did my time in the mines. How come I didn't get one of those?"

" 'Cause you ain't a dwarf." Leroy answers as he rubs Anton on the back, welcoming their newest member," Welcome aboard, brother."

Leroy starts whistling "Heigh-Ho." and the six dwarves and Anton start breaking ground with their pickaxes.

Storybrooke General Hospital

At night in the General Hospital, Belle is in her bed reading Ruby's copy of Jules Verne's "The Mysterious Island."

She sets it down on her nightstand just as Greg enters her room, greeting her," Hey."

Belle looks, startled by his appearances as he calms her down," It's okay."

" Who, uh... who are you?" Belle questions and Greg quickly answers," My name's Greg, okay? I...I'm a patient here, just like you. I...I'm really sorry to bother you, but... I'm the one that was driving the car in...in the accident.

" Oh. Are you okay?" Bell asks and Greg nods," Yeah. Yeah, they, um... they patched me up pretty good."

He takes a seat at the foot of her bed, saying to her," Look, I...I overheard you talking about how you saw a guy with a ball of fire."

Belle chuckles out," And you think I'm crazy, too. Well, I did see it. I did see it actually..."

However, Greg says to her," Hey, I know that you're not crazy."

" You do?" Belle looks at him as he says," Cause I saw it, too."

Granny's Dinner

Mary Margaret is waiting for David as he exits Granny's Diner with two cups of coffee.

He hands one to Mary Margaret who lets out a grunt," Mmm."

David hold up his coffee cup for a toast," Here's to not getting squashed by a giant."

" I'll drink to that." Mary Margaret toasts as well.

As Mary Margaret and David begin to walk along the street, David then expresses out to her," You know, sometimes I wonder how things would've turned out if I had been the one raised by King George instead of my brother, you know, would I have been... corrupt like him?"

Mary Margaret shakes her head," Never."

David toasts her cup, reminding her," Same blood ran through our veins."

" Mm-hmm, but your hearts are different." Mary Margaret says.

David looks unconvinced and Mary Margaret tells her," You may not believe it, but trust me. I know you, Charming. I had a lot of fun today."

David looks at her," Fun?"

Mary Margaret nods," Uh-huh."

" Almost getting killed is fun?" David questions out, surprised and Mary Margaret admits with a hint of guilt in her voice," Yeah. I missed our adventures."

" Me too." David chuckles in agreement," I was kinds fun. You know, we could do this all the time. When the beans grow, we could go back. Everyone could go home."

Mary Margaret however, looks doubtful," I don't know."

" What don't you know?" David asks.

Mary Margaret says," Home is where our family is. And that's here. I don't know if Emma would come with us, and I am not going to be separated from her again."

David points out," You're worried about her.

Mary Margaret looks at him," Aren't you?"

" Of course, but..." David sighs out and he says," Emma...Emma can take care of herself, and I'm sure wherever she and Henry are, they're safe."

Ajira Airlines Regional Flight 53

Mr. Gold, Zatanna, Emma, and Henry are sitting in their seats waiting for take off.

Henry is eating baked goods from Cinnabon's.

" You good, kid?" Emma asks and Henry expresses out excitedly," You kidding? A trip with you, first plane ride, and we're going on a quest like in the book. The only thing that could make this day better... is more frosting."

Zatanna then notices that Mr. Gold seems jumpy and she assures him," It's going to be all right. We're gonna find your son."

" I know." Mr. Gold agrees, worried about what will happen as the stewardess lets out an announcement over the P.A," Welcome, folks, to Ajira Airlines regional flight 53, with nonstop service to New York City. Our flight time tonight is 42 minutes. Please sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride."

Mr. Gold sits back, but he felt even more nervous than ever.
