The Enchanted Forest, Present, Woods

Zatanna, Emma, Mary Margaret, Mulan, Princess Aurora, Milo and Kanna are walking back to the Safe Haven.

Princess Aurora shares to Mary Margaret with a worried expression,"  I don't know if I can do this. I'm not a very good liar."

" Well, it's not really a lie, Aurora. Lancelot did die an honorable death and Cora did escape. All true. Just... leave the particulars to us. There's no reason to cause unnecessary panic amongst your people." Mary Margaret says but Princess Aurora still remains doubtful," I'm not so sure it's unnecessary..."

However, Mulan noticed the tower is deserted and she stops the group," Wait. The tower. We always have sentries guarding the entrance."

She draws her sword and orders the group," Stay close."

Zatanna opens her palms, conjuring magic as the group cautiously goes into the Safe Haven.

But what they saw causes their eyes to widen in horror.

" Oh my God." Emma gasps as she found herself surrounded by corpses.

Milo drops down to his knees to inspect a dead man while Kanna looks down next to him as Mulan questions out," This can't be. Our land, we were protected here, hidden. How did the ogres find us?"

Milo however, tells her," Ogres didn't do this."

" What?" Mulan questions.

Mary Margaret inspects a woman's corpse and she agrees," Milo is right. And I know Cora did this. Their hearts... they were ripped out. This was her magic... twisted and evil. We have to stop her."

Mulan shakes her head," Too late. She killed them. She killed them all."

Mary Margaret then states," We have to stop her before she hurts anyone else."

Zatanna then volunteers," I'll scout around to look out for any signs of her."

" I'll go too." Kanna says," You could use the back up."

Mulan nods and she says to the pair," Alright. But be careful."

" You too." Kanna says.

As Zatanna and Kanna leaves, at that moment, Emma notices something and she calls out to the group," Hey. Hey. Look."

Princess Aurora also notices it and she points out," There's someone under there. He's alive."

Princess Aurora pushes past the bodies, revealing the person to be Captain Hook who is begging," Please."

" It's okay." Princess Aurora says as Captain Hook begs," Please help me."

" It's okay. You're safe now we won't hurt you." Mary Margaret assures him as Captain Hook frantically thanks her," Thank you. Thank you."

Storybrooke, Present, Granny's Diner

David Nolan is standing outside Granny's Diner, shaking the hand of a Storybrooke resident, thanking him," Thank you very much for caring. See you."

At that moment, Dr. Whale approaches him from behind, saying to David," You. We need to talk."

David turns around and he threw a punch, striking Dr. Whale across the cheek.

Dr. Whale winces in pain and he questions David," Oh! What the hell was that for?"

" Sleeping with my wife." David answers and Dr. Whale questions," Kathryn?"

" Snow." David says and Dr. Whale tells David," Look, I didn't know. All right? I was cursed."

" Yeah, I got it. What do you want?" David ask and

Dr. Whale question him," So... is it true? People are saying that you're trying to find a way to build a portal back to your land because that's where you think Emma and Mary Margaret are, that they're alive."

David says frankly," Well, the whispers can stop. I have no secrets from this town. That's exactly what I'm doing."

Dr. Whale stumbles back and he stammers," But the land... it's... it's gone, destroyed by the curse."

" Apparently not." David states and Dr. Whale probes," Well, you're having any luck?"

David shakes his head," Not yet. We're working on it."

" Does that mean that all the lands still exist?" Dr. Whale questions and David replies," Possibly."

" So the Queen lied to us. Again. Are you sure?" Dr. Whale questions again and David looks at him," Remember who we're talking about."

Storybrooke, Present, Dr. Archie Hopper's Office.

In his office, Dr. Hopper hears a knock, prompting him to get up and open the door, only to find Regina standing outside.

" Regina. Are you here to see me?" Dr. Hopper ask and Regina admits," I've been trying to keep my promise to Henry, but it's been difficult."

" To not use magic." Dr. Hopper says and

Regina admits," It's been two days."

" That's an excellent start. Come on in." Dr. Hopper invites Regina in and as she enters, she explains," It's just that... magic is the way I've always gotten everything."

Dr. Hopper nods and he says to Regina," It sounds like it's also the way you've lost everything. Regina, this is your chance to start over, to earn Henry."

At that moment, the door opens. Dr. Whale rushes in, causing Dr. Hopper to reprimand him," Dr. Whale, this is highly inappropriate."

Dr. Whale ignores Dr. Hopper and he demands Regina," Send me back."

" Excuse me?" Regina questions, not knowing what he means and Dr. Whale clarifies," To my land. Send me back to my brother."

" Why don't you check the "Missing" board like everyone else?" Regina suggests to him dismissively and Dr. Whale growls," Your curse only brought the living."

" Well, then I'm sorry for your loss. But I'm afraid I can't send anyone anywhere." Regina haughtily states and Dr. Whale questions her angrily," Can't or won't?"

Before Dr. Whale could argue, Dr. Hopper sternly tells him to leave," Dr. Whale, I have to insist. Please. Go."

Dr. Whale then turns around, leaving the office as Dr. Hopper closes the door.

Dr. Hopper then asks Regina," Sorry. What you said isn't entirely true, is it?"

" I'm sorry?" Regina questions, not knowing what Dr. Hopper means as he explains," About the curse only taking the living. The grave of your father's here, right?"

" I don't care about Whale or his brother. I brought who I wanted." Regina states and

Dr. Hopper questions further," Anyone else? If you want help, you have to try and trust me. Stopping magic is a lot harder than starting."

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Forest

In the forest, Rumplestiltskin is teaching Regina how to use magic by using a black unicorn as test subject.

" Now show me what you've learned. Immobilize it." Rumplestiltskin commands.

Regina uses her magic and with it, she froze the unicorn in place, causing Rumplestiltskin to giggle out in delight, as Regina says to him," There, I did it."

" Excellent work, my apprentice." Rumplestiltskin praises her before giving her the next set of instructions,

" Now there's just one last, tiny, tiny, teeny, little detail. Take its heart."

" Like my mother did to..." Regina gasps before Rumplestiltskin finishes her sentence," Oh, to your true love. Indeed. Then you already know how it's done."

Regina approaches the unicorn as Rumplestiltskin says to her," Gentle. If you do it right, no harm will befall it, unless of course, you will it."

" I can't. It's innocent." Regina shakes her head as

Rumplestiltskin disagrees," Nothing is innocent."

He takes the unicorn's heart, giggling out," Now, it belongs to me. You see, when you take a heart, it becomes enchanted. Stronger than a normal heart. You're not hurting the beast. You're controlling it. Now show me you know what to do with that power. Kill it."

Regina stares at him in shock," What?"

Rumplestiltskin commands her," You've seen it done. Now do it yourself. Show me you can take the next step in your training. Crush it."

Regina stood there, unwilling to do so and Rumplestiltskin shakes his head in disappointment," Dearie, dearie, dearie. And I had such high hopes."

" And I didn't sign up to kill unicorns." Regina cries out.

" Magic is power. Until you can take power, you're not learning anything. Do you want me to teach you or not?" Rumplestiltskin asks and Regina nods," Yes."

Rumplestiltskin then says to her," Then there's one simple question for you to ponder."" I'll tell you anything." Regina desperately tells him and the sorcerer simply giggles," I don't need the answer. You do. What's holding you back?"

Storybrooke, Present, Dr. Hopper's Office

" His name was Daniel. I preserved his body with an enchantment spell. He's dead, but frozen, and I've kept him in my family mausoleum." Regina unwinds to Dr. Hopper as he nods, saying to her," Because you couldn't let go of him. If you can't let go of the past, Regina, it's doomed to haunt you."

Feeling invaded and hurt, Regina simply chooses to end the session right there," You know what? I think this has been quite enough."

Dr. Hopper watches Regina standing up and he tries to stop her," Regina, wait. I... I can help you."

" I doubt it." Regina coldly says before leaving.

Later

Soon, Regina is driving in the rain.

But Regina notices a car and she quickly steps on the brakes to stop the car, narrowingly avoiding hitting another car.

Regina looks up, seeing a familiar figure in the distance.

" Danial?" Regina asks.

She closes her eyes, as she opens them, she notices that Daniel is gone.

Storybrooke Stables, Morning

David and Henry pull up to the Storybrooke Stables in a car, very early in the morning.

" All right." David notices Henry letting out a yawn and he asks the boy," Come on. What's with the yawn? This isn't school. It should be fun."

" I couldn't sleep." Henry explains.

David sighs and he says to Henry," Hey. I know. I miss 'em, too. Now just think how happy Emma and Snow will be when they come home to find that you've become... a proper knight."

David shows Henry a horse and he introduces him to the stallion," Say hello to your steed."

Henry eyes lits up in excitement and he asks David," Is he mine?"

David shows Henry to another horse and he says to him," This one's yours."

Henry looks at him and he asks," Really? So... how do I get on him?"

David however, shakes his head," Oh, you're not riding today."

" I'm not?" Henry asks and David says," No. There's much to learn before you hop in the saddle."

" Like what?" Henry questions.

David then explains," Well, every morning, you'll have to muck out his stall. Then you'll brush him and feed him. After school, you'll do it again. Every day, twice a day."

Upon hearing that, Henry began to pout," That's not riding. That's babysitting."

David corrects him," Ah. Horse-sitting. It builds an essential bond... the trust between knight and steed."

" Okay. But when will I ride him?" Henry asks.

David then answers," When the horse tells you. I'm gonna go check in on the dwarves, see how the mining's coming. I'll pick you up later."

As David leaves, Henry goes up to his horse and he asks the animal," So... anything you wanna tell me?"

Mills Family Mausoleum

Meanwhile, Regina goes to her family's mausoleum.

She is shocked to see Daniel's body missing from its glass coffin.

The Enchanted Forest, Past, The Dark Castle

Rumplestiltskin is spinning straw into gold as Regina is waiting patiently.

Regina then clears throat and she asks," Are you ready to begin?"

Rumplestiltskin doesn't stop spinning and he says to Regina," Oh, I've been ready. The question is, are you?"

" Yes, I am." Regina nods and Rumplestiltskin interrogates her," Tell me why you're really here."

" For power..." Regina answers but Rumplestiltskin isn't convinced," Stop wasting my time! What is it you want? Come on. You've done all your soul-searching. Now tell me."

Regina then asks," Can you teach me, how to use magic to bring back the dead?"

Rumplestiltskin stops spinning and he understands Regina's words," That's what this is about? The stable boy?"

" I want true happiness." Regina says but Rumplestiltskin rejects her, idea" Then find it elsewhere, dearie. Magic can do much, but not that. Dead is dead."

Regina stares at him in distraught and she cries out," Then I am lost."

" And I've had my time wasted. I'm sorry, but, uh, transcending death is beyond even my reach." Rumplestiltskin admits and he spat," Try looking for that Magician. If you can even find him."

" I thought nothing was beyond your reach." Regina turns, seeing Jefferson enter the chambers and as the Hatter sees Regina, he says, " Ah. Busy. Should I..."

However, Rumplestiltskin quickly brushes Regina off," No. No. Nothing important going on here."

" Rumplestiltskin..."

" Ignore her." Rumplestiltskin brushes Regina away as Jefferson pulls a glass ball from his bag and he says," I got what you wanted."

Rumplestiltskin looks at the glass ball and he asks him," What about the slippers?"

Jefferson shakes his head," Oh. Couldn't find 'em. Heard talk they'd already been moved to another land."

Rumplestiltskin stares at him and he says," That's what I needed to get to that other land."

Jefferson then offers," Well, come with me in my hat. I'm sure we can work something out."

Rumplestiltskin however, shakes his head," No, no. Your hat only transports between magical realms. I need to get to a land without magic."

" Why would anyone want that?" Jefferson asks but Rumplestiltskin simply answers with," My business."

" You want the ball or not?" Jefferson questions impatiently and Rumplestiltskin simply nods before directing Jefferson to the pile of gold he has spun," Mmm... yes. Help yourself to as much gold as you deem appropriate."

As Jefferson goes to collect his payment, Rumplestiltskin turns to Regina and he says to her," Oh, and, you. You can let yourself out. Our work is done."

Regina looks at Rumplestiltskin and she questions out," Wait. So that's it? You're not going to teach me anymore?"

" So long as you harbor foolish notions of bringing back the dead, so long as you live in the past, you'll never find your future. Teaching you is a waste of time." Rumplestiltskin states before he walks away.

At that moment, Jefferson approaches Regina and he asks her," Pardon me... for eavesdropping, but I think you need to look elsewhere for assistance."

" What do you know about it?" Regina asks.

Jefferson explains," I hear things. Jefferson's the name, and I'm a man who travels and sees much, and I know the man who can do what you want... bring back the dead. He's, um, you might say...a wizard. I...I can bring him to you."

" Is it Zatara?" Regina asks and Jefferson shakes his head," No. Not him."

" What's the price?" Regina asks and Jefferson answers," Always a price indeed. So here's mine. Like I said, I'm a man of travels, and I've made many enemies along the way, and I'd like a royal passport so I can have free reign to traverse your kingdom."

" How would I do that?" Regina questions.

Jefferson then replies with another question," Well, you're the queen... aren't you?"

Regina nods," That's right. I am. And this wizard... can he really bring someone back from the dead?"

" Well... If he can't, no one can." Jefferson states.

The Enchanted Forest, Present, Safe Haven

Emma, Mary Margaret, Milo, Princess Aurora and Mulan stands over Mulan

Emma turns to Mulan and she asks her," You have seen him before?"

Mulan nods," Yes, I've seen him around. He's a blacksmith. Came to our camp a couple of months ago. Said he lost his hand in an ogre attack."

" Why would Cora leave a survivor? It's messy, it doesn't make sense." Emma questions out suspiciously.

" Wait. You think he's lying?" Milo questions and Emma tells him," I think Cora tricked us before. I don't want that to happen again."

Emma hands a cup of water to Captain Hook, offering it to him," Here you go."

Captain Hook takes it and he thanks Emma," I can't thank you enough for your kindness. Fortune it seems has seen fit to show me favor."

" An island full of corpses... you're the only one to escape. How exactly did that happen?" Emma asks and Captain Hook replies," She attacked at night... slaughtered everyone in one fell swoop. When she started ripping out peoples' hearts, I hid under the bodies of those who had already been killed. Pretended to be dead myself. Must be the ruse worked."

" So much for fortune favoring the brave." Emma comments out in disgust at Captain Hook's cowardice and Captain Hook could only admit," It was all I could do to survive."

Emma however, is not convinced," I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. I am pretty good at knowing when someone is lying to me."

" I am telling you the truth." Captain Hook exclaims.

At that moment, Kanna and Zatanna returns and Milo greets them," Oh, Kanna, Zatanna, you're back."

" Did you find Cora?" Princess Aurora asks and Zatanna shakes her head," No. I couldn't sense her anywhere. Looks like she left a long time ago."

Kanna then notices Captain Hook and she smiles," Oh, glad to see you're safe."

" Likewise." Captain Hook nods.

Milo then asks Kanna," Wait, you two know each other?"

Kanna nods," Yes, in fact, he was the one who brought me to this land."

Mulan looks around and she says," We should leave here, Cora may be gone but with the barrier destroyed, there will be ogres coming soon."

Mary Margaret then adds," We should start searching for a new portal back to Storybrooke. I only got about five minutes with my husband, not to mention my grandson."

Captain Hook stares at Mary Margaret's youthful appearance and he questions her in shock," You have a grandson?"

" Long story." Mary Margaret says.

Captain Hook stands up and he offers to the group," Well, I know this land well, I can guide you..."

However, Emma draws a knife and holds it over Captain Hook's throat, stopping him in his tracks," You're not gonna guide us anywhere until you tell us who you really are."

Storybrooke General Hospital

Meanwhile back in Storybrooke, Regina storms through the hospital, calling out to Dr. Whale,"  Dr. Whale? Where are you?"

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Train Station

Jefferson is taking Queen Regina to meet the man who bring back the dead.

Regina looks around and she asks Jefferson," Where is he... this wizard? You promised to bring him to me."

" Indeed, and off we shall go to see him, but I warn you, be cautious." Jefferson warns, causing Regina to ask him," Why? Is he dangerous?"

Jefferson shakes his head," Not to us. But bear in mind, he's never been to a world like this before. He's unfamiliar with our ways, with our magic."

" All I care about are his ways, and if they will do what I require." Regina states and Jefferson then says to her," Well, there's only one way to find out. May I present to you... your salvation."

They turn a corner and see a man seated, sketching flowers.

Regina approaches him and she asks him," You're the wizard?"

The man turns toward her," I prefer "doctor", but you're welcome to call me whatever makes you comfortable."

" Very well... doctor. You understand why you've been brought here?" Regina asks and the Doctor nods," Of course. Now..."

He clears throat and he says to her," Show me the patient."

Soon

Regina brings him to where she is keeping Daniel's preserved body. The Doctor examines the body, gasping out in amazement," It's remarkable. It's as if his last breath was drawn just moments ago."

" A preservation spell." Regina explains before she asks him," Can you bring him back?"

" Perhaps. Let's take a look." Regina looks as the Doctor continues his examination," It's wonderful. His condition is ideal... apart from being dead, that is."

" Just how many times have you done this, doctor?" Regina asks only for The Doctor to direct his gaze at Jefferson before he asks him," You didn't tell her?"

" Tell... tell me? Tell me what?" Regina questions.

The Doctor then explains to her," The procedure is experimental. Success is yet to occur. But if certain conditions are met, I'm optimistic."

Regina stares at him," Optimistic?"

" Just hear him out." Jefferson pleads but Regina is not having it," What kind of charlatan are you?"

" I am no such thing." The Doctor retorts, offended by the insult," I was told the last crucial piece of the puzzle exists in this land."

" What else do you need?" Regina asks and The Doctor answers," A heart. It's a fragile organ, and I need a strong one. I've searched the far reaches of my realm for one with the fortitude to stand the shock of my procedure. None have survived. But they say in your land, there are hearts transformed by magic. Hearts made so powerful, they glow."

Regina then questions him," That's why you've come here?"

The Doctor nods," I need this for my work. So tell me... how do you change these hearts? How do you enchant them?"

" Those who practice the dark arts do it by ripping the organ out of the living while it still beats." Jefferson explains to The Doctor who then asks Regina," Mm-hmm. And you can do this?"

Regina shakes her head," No."

" Huh."

The Doctor turns to the Mad Hatter and he comments out in disappointment," You assured me that this queen was some powerful sorceress."

" I will not use magic for evil." Regina states and the Mad Hatter tells her," Well, if you want your fiancé back, then you're gonna have to find someone who will."

" Have I wasted my time here?" The Doctor ask and Regina shakes her head," No. I know exactly who can help us. I know where to get a heart."

Storybrooke,  Present, Storybrooke General Hospital

" Dr. Whale?" Regina calls out as she walks around the room, then walks to the operating table and sees Whale's severed arm laying on the table.

She gasps out in shock, stepping back and bumps into a hanging light behind her,"Oh."

She moves the operating table and sees Dr. Whale injured on the ground, Regina quickly kneels next to him and she exclaims out," Whale. Whale. I know you took Daniel's body, and you took one of my hearts. Why? Why?! Did you bring him back?"

Dr. Whale gasps out," I did it."

Regina widens her eyes in shock and she asks him," He's alive?"

Dr. Whale nods," Yes. I brought him back, but...he's not Daniel."

" What?"

Dr. Whale looks up at Regina and he stutters," He's... he's a monster."

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Mills Palace

Queen Regina, the Doctor, and Jefferson are in Regina's palace, standing in front of a fireplace where Regina says to the pair," This... was my mother's."

" How sweet, but I'm not interested in heirlooms." The Doctor sneakily remarks only for Regina to tell him," Oh, I believe you will be. Listen."

" To a fireplace?" The Doctor questions and Regina instructs him in annoyance," Just listen."

The Doctor and Jefferson listens and they can hear the sounds of what sound like...Heartbeats.

" Where is that coming from?" Jefferson asks and Regina answers," Her vault."

Regina pulls a level, causing the fireplace to disappear, revealing a hidden flight of stairs.

The trio descend down a set of steps and enter a chamber.

Inside the chamber, the wall is filled with glowing, beating hearts, each in its own box.

Regina then directs the Doctor to the entire collection of hearts and she says," Take your pick."

Doctor looks at it in disbelief," These are... all... hearts?"

" My mother was a collector." Regina explains and Jefferson questions her," Whose hearts are these?"

Regina shrugs," I have no idea. She took so many, caused so much pain. It was impossible to keep track. She was a monster."

The Doctor approaches the wall of hearts and pulls out one of the boxes, one labelled Cyrus Gold.

Doctor opens the box, seeing a still beating heart in there and he gasps out in delight," Finally. After all this time. It's perfect."

Storybrooke, Present, Storybrooke General Hospital

Dr. Whale is lying in a bed, sleeping.

Regina is watching him when David enters, questioning out," What's going on? I just got a call that Dr. Whale was attacked."

" You'll have to ask his doctors." Regina states.

" No. I am asking you." David states and Regina explains," I came here to speak with him and discovered he was hurt."

Not believing her, David gives her a look of disbelief which causes Regina to tell him," It's the truth."

David questions her further," What else? What did you come here to speak with him about?"

" Someone from my past. I believe he's come back. Daniel. His name is Daniel." Regina says and David remembers," The man you were supposed to marry. Snow told me what happened, and...how it was her fault that he died."

Regina sadly nods," Yes. He did."

David then asks her, confused by what has happened," Well, then how could he be back?"

Regina suddenly remembers what Dr. Whale was capable of back in the Enchanted Forest and she says," Whale. He believed he could bring him back from the grave, and... I don't know how... but he has."

" You don't know how? Guess." David orders and Regina explains what she knows," He practices something more powerful than magic... or so I was told. All he needed was a heart, and he took one of mine."

David looks at her and he questions," You have hearts here?"

Regina nods," In my vault. From our land."

" Whose heart did he take?" David asks and Regina answers," I have no idea. I took so many, it was impossible to keep track. I need to go. I have to help him."

David however, refuses," No. Where is he? Look what he did. He's dangerous."

" Not to me. He won't hurt anyone else, David, I promise." Regina disagrees.

David then states," You know I can't take that chance. You have two choices, Regina... tell me where he is, or jail."

Regina recalls and she says," I think it's like when...you awoke from your coma. He's following his final thoughts to where he last met me... the stables."

Upon hearing that, David gasps as it dawns on him," No. Henry. Henry's at the stables."

Stables

Meanwhile at the Stables, Henry is brushing his horse's mane as he spoke to it," Gramps says that you'll tell me when I'm ready to ride you. So... anytime. Like, soon?"

Suddenly, all the horses get startled. Henry's horse takes off, knocking Henry to the ground.

" Aah!" Henry screams out as he drops to the ground.

When Henry opens his eyes, he looks up, seeing Daniel standing over him as he hears a low growl coming out," Grundy..."

The Enchanted Forest, Present, Safe Haven

Back in the Enchanted Forest, Zatanna uses her magic to bind Captain Hook as Mulan, Milo, Kanna, Emma, Mary Margaret, and Princess Aurora interrogate him.

Captain Hook says to the group," I already told you. I'm just a blacksmith."

" No you aren't." Kanna says," I remembered you bringing me to this land, you can't just be a blacksmith

Captain Hook stares at her and he says," Well that doesn't ring no bells love."

Emma then lets out a whistle and she says to Captain Hook," You don't want to talk to us? Maybe you'll talk to the ogres while they rip you limb from limb. Come on.:

As the group start to leave, Captain Hook began protesting out," What? You... you can't just leave me here like this!"

Princess Aurora looks back at him and she asks Emma," What if he's telling the truth?"

Emma disagrees," He's not."

Captain Hook then began exclaiming out," Good for you! You bested me. I can count the amount of people who've done that on one hand."

" That supposed to be funny? Who are you?" Emma asks and Captain Hook began introducing himself," Killian Jones, but most people have taken to call me by my more colorful moniker... Hook."

Mary Margaret stares at him," Hook."

" Check my satchel." Captain Hook instructs and Mary Margaret goes to check his satchel.

" As in Captain Hook?" Emma ask and Captain Hook glances at her," Ah, so you've heard of me."

At the same time, Mary Margaret removes his hook from the satchel and she gasps in shock.

The sounds of Ogres could be heard and Emma tells the pirate," You better hurry up. They're getting closer. So unless you wanna be dinner, you better start talking."

Captain Hook quickly explains," Cora wanted me to gain your trust so I could learn everything there is to know about your Storybrooke. She didn't want any surprises when she finally got over there."

Mary Margaret looks at him in confusion," She can't get there. We destroyed the wardrobe."

Captain Hook however, states," Ah, but the enchantment remains. Cora gathered the ashes. She's gonna use them to open up a portal."

As the group can hear Ogre sounds get louder, Captain Hook says to Emma," Now if you'll kindly cut me loose."

Mulan however, refuses," No. We should leave him here to die to pay for all the lives that he took."

Captain Hook states," That was Cora, not me."

" Let's go." Emma ushers.

As the group turns to leave, Captain Hook quickly stops them," Wait. Wait! You need me alive."

" Why?" Zatanna questions and Captain Hook answers," Because we both want the same thing, to get back to your land."

" You would say anything to save yourself. Why are we supposed to believe you now?" Kanna asks and Captain Hook explains," I arranged for transport with Cora, but, seeing how resourceful you are, I'll offer you the same deal, I'll help you if you promise to take me along."

" How are you going to help us get home?" Mary Margaret asks and Captain Hook reveals," The ashes will open a portal, but to find your land, she needs more. There's an enchanted compass. Cora seeks it. I'll help you obtain it before she does."

Emma then concludes," So Cora won't make it to Storybrooke, and we'll be one step closer to getting home."

Captain Hook nods but Mary Margaret is not convinced," Sounds too good to be true."

Captain Hook shrugs," There's only one way to find out."

As the sounds of the Ogres get closer and louder, Zatanna uses her magic to conjure a firecracker before throwing it further away from where they are.

Milo sees the firecracker explode and he says to the group," This should buy us some time."

Emma then interrogates Captain Hook," You tell me one thing, and whatever you say I better believe it. Why does Captain Hook want to go to Storybrooke?"

Captain Hook eyes narrows as he gives her his answer," To exact revenge on the man who took my hand, Rumplestiltskin."

Storybrooke, Present, Stables

Henry is still on the ground of the stables with Daniel standing over him.

Daniel grunts out," Grundy confused."

Henry then coaxes Daniel," You... you gotta stop. Listen, you're...you're scaring the horses."

" Eh, Grundy scaring horses." Daniel grumbles.

Henry then notices Dr. Whale's blood on Daniel's hands and he asks him," Are... are... are you hurt? Can I help you?"

Henry raises his hand to help. Daniel sees Henry's hand coming toward him and has a flashback to Cora ripping his heart out.

" Let me help you." Henry offers.

However, Daniel began screaming out," Grundy scared! Grundy no like scary lady!" Daniel then grabs Henry by the neck and proceeds to strangle him as the boy chokes out," Please."

At that moment, Regina runs in with David and she screams out," Daniel! Let him go!"

Daniel notices Regina and he obeys her, by letting him go.

David pulls Henry away from Daniel and he asks him," Are you okay?"

" Yeah." Henry nods, still shaken by what has happened.

David then urges Henry to run," Go. Go!"

Meanwhile, Regina approaches Daniel, tears flowing from her eyes as she gasps out,
" It's true. You're really here."

" Grundy not Daniel! Grundy smash!" Daniel roars out as he lunges for Regina, but David pushes her out of the way and locks the stable door.

As the sound of Daniel pounding the door could be heard,

David says to Regina," It won't hold for long. Can you cast a spell to subdue him?"

Regina however, refuses to do so," No. I won't use magic on him."

Regina notices David draws his gun and she questions him," What do you think you're doing?"

" Did you hear him? He's a monster, Regina! If you won't put him down, I will!" David declares out only for Regina plead to him," David, please! Just let me talk to him."

David shakes his head," It's too big of a risk. There's no telling what he'll do."

" You have to at least give me a chance!" Regina begs but David is not having it and he pushes her away," Out of the way, Regina! Now!"

" No!" Regina pushes David back and she pleads to him hysterically," I won't let you hurt him! He'll listen to me! Please! Let me talk to my fiancé."

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Medical Tent

The Doctor prepares for the procedure inside a medical tent. Queen Regina and Jefferson stand outside the tent waiting.

The Doctor exits the tent and he requests Regina," The heart, your majesty."

Regina hands him the box with the heart in it

" Thank you. Now please, wait here. The procedure is one I must perform alone." The Doctor instructs before reentering his tent.

Regina goes to Jefferson and he asks," What's he doing back there? Magic?"

Jefferson simply answers," He says he wields power greater than magic."

" Really? Why won't he let us see?" Regina asks.

Jefferson then explains to her," In his land, there's much we don't understand, or can't. If he can't achieve what you seek, Rumplestiltskin was right. It can't be done."

The Doctor's silhouette is seen plunging the heart into Daniel's chest. A bolt of lightning strikes the tent. The Doctor exits the tent to update Regina on the outcome of the procedure.

Regina goes up and she asks him expectingly," Well?"

The Doctor shakes his head and he apologizes to her," I'm sorry. I failed. The heart wasn't strong enough. It couldn't withstand the procedure."

The Doctor could stand there as Regina enters the tent.

She goes up to Daniel's lifeless body and she begins to cry on Daniel's chest, having lost hope completely.

Storybrooke, Present, Stables

Once David has left, Regina unlocks the stall. Daniel is standing there. He starts to walk toward her. It appears Daniel is about to stroke Regina's cheek, but at the last moment, grabs her by the neck and slams her against the wall outside the stall and proceeds to strangle her.

" Grundy no like you!" Daniel growls and Regina chokes," Daniel. Please. Stop. It's me. I love you."

Upon hearing her voice, something changes in Daniel, causing him to release her as his voice goes back to normal, reverting from Solomon Grundy to Daniel," Regina."

" Daniel." Regina cries out and she embraces him," Oh. I can't believe it's really you."

However, Daniel pulls away from her, griping his chest in pain," Oh!"

" Daniel?" Regina asks in concern as Daniel winces," Oh. Stop. Just stop the pain."

" How?" Regina asks and Daniel groans," Just... let me go."

Upon hearing that, Regina shakes her head, refusing to put Daniel down," No. No, I won't lose you again."

Distraught, Regina cries," Without you, I'm lost."

Regina grabs Daniel's shoulder as he fights to maintain control of himself," Daniel. Daniel, come back to me."

" Can't. Can't." Daniel growls and Regina cries out," But I love you."

Daniel uses the last bit of his humanity to say these words," Then love again....RAGHHHH!!!"

Daniel swings his arm out, smacking Regina back.

Regina looks up as Daniel, now back as Solomon Grundy, roars out," Grundy SMASH!!!"

Daniel launches forward to attack Regina but she immobilizes him with magic.

As Daniel is frozen in place, a devastated Regina waves her hand, turning Daniel to dust as she tearfully whispers out," Good-bye, Daniel."

The Enchanted Forest, Present, Forest

Emma, Zatanna, Mary Margaret, Mulan, Princess Aurora, Milo and Kanna are walking through the forest guided by Captain Hook.

Captain Hook points forward and he directs the group ahead," Up ahead. We'll find the compass just over the ridge."

Mary Margaret then asks Emma and Zatanna," Do you get the feeling he's leading us exactly where Cora wants us, that this whole thing's a trap?"

Emma says," It's definitely a trap. As long as we know they're trying to play us, we can..."

" ...stay one step ahead of them." Mary Margaret finishes Emma's sentence as the blonde woman nods," Exactly."

Zatanna then assures the group," Don't worry, he wouldn't dare to do anything with me around. But we will be ready in case Cora does show up."

Milo then asks Kanna," So this is the Pirate that brought you to this land?"

" Yes but I never knew he was in the Safe Haven. Guess he must have joined when I wasn't around." Kanna says.

" Can he be trusted?" Milo ask and Kanna answers," Well other than trying to flirt with me a few times, he hasn't displayed any malicious intends though we cannot be trusted, I also never suspected that Lancelot was an imposter this whole time."

Milo agrees," Yeah. I have met my fair share of liars."

" I have solved mysteries in my land but the only difference between the ones here and the ones in my land is that most of the ones here tend to use magic for evil." Kanna says.

In the distance, Emma sees a beanstalk standing in the middle of a field and she asks Captain Hook," Let me guess... the compass is up there?"

" Oh, yeah." Captain Hook nods and Emma asks as she saw how high the beanstalk is," So how do we... get to it?"

Captain Hook simply warns," It's not the climb you need to worry about. It's the giant at the top."

The eight of them then proceed onward.

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Rumplestiltskin's Castle

In his castle, Rumplestiltskin is training another girl in the same location that he trained Regina.

At that moment, Queen Regina approaches the pair.

She notices the girl and she asks Rumplestiltskin," Who is this?"

Rumplestiltskin looks at the girl and he answers," Ah, your replacement, of course. I needed someone more dedicated."

" Dedicated?" Regina angrily plunges her hand into the girl's chest.

The girl gasps out in shock as Regina rips her heart out and crushes it with ease.

Rumplestiltskin giggles in delight as the girl collapses onto the ground, dead.

Regina looks at Rumplestiltskin, now having lost everything, is now willing to continue her lesson," Now... where were we?"

Storybrooke, Present. Dr. Hopper's Office.

Regina knocks on Dr. Hopper's door.

The door opens as Dr. Hopper sees a tearful Regina outside his office," You're back!"

Regina began crying as she sobs to Dr. Hopper," I used magic."

Dr. Hopper then invites Regina in for a counselling session," Why don't you come in and tell me what happened?"

The Enchanted Forest, Past, Hill

The Doctor and Jefferson are walking up a hill in the forest.

They reach the top and the Doctor says to Jefferson," Enough. I need to be taken home. Now. I have work to do, and I believe our deal is done."

Jefferson says to him," The deal isn't done until he says it's done."

At that moment, the two men notices Rumplestiltskin walking up the other side of the hill, saying to them," Now, now. Patience, please. Our transaction is, uh, nearly complete."

" And are you satisfied with the results?" The Doctor asks and Rumplestiltskin points out," She did seem rather... heartbroken."

The Doctor nods," She is. She bought my failure."

" You should've seen her tears." Jefferson laughs and Rumplestiltskin compliments the Doctor, remembering how merciless a heartbroken Regina is," I've seen the aftermath. Impressive."

The Doctor then says to Jefferson," Now... my property."

" Yeah, here it is." Jefferson hands the Doctor a box who he then proceeds to take it.

" You'll excuse me if I check."

The Doctor opens box to find a beating enchanted heart before closing it, thanking Rumplestiltskin," It's been a pleasure doing business with you."

Rumplestiltskin smiles," Oh, the pleasure was mine. Thanks to your efforts, I've made my monster. Now I do hope, you'll be able to make yours."

The Doctor frowns at those words and he says to Rumplestiltskin," I'm not making a monster."

" Sure you're not. Good luck." Rumplestiltskin wishes him luck only for The Doctor to reply," If these hearts are as strong as you say, I won't need luck."

" Oh, just magic." Rumplestiltskin pipes but TheDoctor contradicts him," No. What I'm going to accomplish goes far beyond magic."

" And yet you need a magical heart to do it." Rumplestiltskin sneers.

" So small-minded. I need my powers to transcend the limitations of your magic." The Doctor argues and Rumplestiltskin frowns," This must be quite a land you hail from if you think your abilities are more powerful."

The Doctor retorts," They are."

Rumplestiltskin bets," Care to wager? I suspect someday you'll see it my way."

" I doubt it. Now may we go?" The Doctor asks impatiently.

Rumplestiltskin gives the Jefferson the okay, prompting the Mad Hatter to open a portal using his hat.

As The Doctor prepares to leave, Rumplestiltskin gives him a warning," Careful, dearie. Just remember, whatever it is you traffic in, it comes with a price."

" We'll see." That was all The Doctor says before and Jefferson jump into the portal, the two men disappears, leaving Rumplestiltskin standing on the hill top alone.

Rumplestiltskin then chuckles, remembering how he got the heart.

Years ago.

In a town, the monster Solomon Grundy charges through the town like an angry bull, smashing through buildings." RAAAHHHHH!!! Grundy SMASH!!!"

At that moment, several archers fires arrows at Solomon Grundy, causing the undead monster to feel pain.

" RGNNN!!! Grundy no like arrows in back!" Solomon Grundy roars as he throws a horse at the archers, instantly taking them down.

" RARGHHHHHH!!!" Solomon Grundy roars out as a young Zatanna helps an old man up.

Zatara then instructs his daughter, " Get the civilians out of here, I'll deal with this monster myself."

" Will you be okay?" Zatanna asks and Zatara simply smiles," Oh please. Undead monsters are my specialties."

Zatanna then brings the old man and a bunch of villagers to safety as Zatara steps out to face Solomon Grundy.

Solomon Grundy stares at Zatara and he growls," Grundy makes wizard head disappear!"

" Oh this wizard can do more than that." Zatara retorts.

Solomon Grundy throws a barrel at Zatara who simply freezes in it place before launching it back.

Solomon Grundy raises his hand, shielding himself as the barrel shattered upon making contact with his hide.

" Grrrr..." Angered, Solomon Grundy growls as he steps towards Zatara.

Zatara approaches the monster, the magician and the undead monster glaring at each other.

Solomon Grundy swings his arm but Zatara ducks, charging up magic in his hand as he blasts it onto his head.

Solomon Grundy thrusts his foot out, forcing Zatara to create a magic barrier as the impact of the blow sends him skidding back.

Zatara recovers as Solomon Grundy rushes forward.

Solomon Grundy slams both fists down but Zatara rolls aside before he jumps up, kicking Solomon Grundy across the face.

Solomon Grundy throws his fist but Zatara teleports himself out of the way, disappearing in a nick of time.

Zatara reappears on the roof of a building as Solomon Grundy grabs a crate of fruits, throwing it at the magician.

Zatara flies up, dodging the projectile before opening his coat.

Zatara throws some yarn at Solomon Grundy which with magic, transforms into a python.

" HISSSSS" The python hisses as it wraps itself around Solomon Grundy who simply grabs the snake before throwing it aside.

Zatara lands in front of Solomon Grundy, rushing forward as he throws several knives at him.

Solomon Grundy swings his arm out, deflecting the projectiles.

As Zatara jumps up, Solomon Grundy throws a punch, striking the magician.

As Zatara grunts in pain, Solomon Grundy then throws a hook, sending him flying upwards.

Zatara flies through the air before crashing through the roof of a house.

The magician shakes his head, recovering from the attack as Solomon Grundy smashes body first through the wall.

Zatara looks up before rolling across the floor, narrowingly dodging Grundy's foot as the monster stomps onto the ground.

Solomon Grundy stomps after Zatara, attempting to crush the magician.

Zatara then grabs a kitchen knife, using his magic to light it in flames before he slides underneath Solomon Grundy.

Zatara then plunges the blade into Grundy' thigh, causing the monster to roar out in pain," RAAAHHHHH!!!"

Zatara then charges up a powerful spark of magic, putting his hand on Solomon Grundy's face before emitting a powerful boom.

The explosion sends Solomon Grundy crashing through the wall before landing back first onto the floor.

Solomon Grundy pushes himself up to recover as Zatara steps out of the house.

Zatara narrows his eyes as Solomon Grundy growls.

" This is your last warning, leave or else what comes next is something you're gonna regret." Zatara warns only for Solomon Grundy to roar," RAH!!! Grundy no listen to magic man!"

Solomon Grundy throws a rock at Zatara who simply dodges it.

The magician sighs and he says," Then you leave me no choice."

Zatara conjures up a whip and he swings it, wrapping it around Solomon Grundy's wrist.

The monster couldn't react as Zatara gives the whip a tug, pulling Solomon Grundy towards him.

Solomon Grundy attempts to punch Zatara only for the magician to throw an uppercut across his face.

Zatara's gloved hand charges up electricity as he puts his hand close to Solomon Grundy's chest, charging up a powerful burst of lightning through the undead monster.

" RAAAAHHHHHH!!!" Solomon Grundy lets out an agonizing roar of pain as Zatara then charges up further, increasing the level of voltage.

Soon, Zatara stops as Solomon Grundy drops down to his knees, weakened by the attack.

Zatara stands over Solomon Grundy and he says," Now this is for your own good."

Using his magic, Zatara plunges his hand into Solomon Grundy's chest before pulling his hand back, ripping out the monster's heart.

Solomon Grundy groans before he collapses to the side, dead.

Panting, Zatara throws the heart next to Solomon Grundy before turning to leave.

As Zatara walks away, Rumplestiltskin appears, chuckling to himself as he takes the heart, storing it into a box before disappearing from sight.

Storybrooke, Present, Mr. Gold's Pawn Shop

Dr. Whale walks in with a cooler and sets it on the counter. He opens it, revealing his severed left arm to Mr. Gold.

Mr. Gold stares at the arm and he says to Dr. Whale," When they say I charge an arm and a leg, that's meant as a figure of speech."

" Put it back." Dr. Whale says, causing Mr. Gold to look at him," You want me to reattach your arm?"

Dr. Whale probes," Can you do it?"

" Of course. But first, tell me why." Mr. Gold asks and Dr. Whale simply answers," Because I want to use it again."

" Obviously. I meant why bring that stable boy back from the dead? Why now?" Mr. Gold clarifies his question and

Dr. Whale answers," I thought... I thought that if I helped her, she would return me to my world. I want to see my brother, to try to bring him back again."

" Again?" Mr. Gold asks in confusion and Dr. Whale explains," The first time ended badly. I need to return and try it once more."

Mr. Gold simply shrugs," Well, it seems that's rather beyond her abilities. My condolences."

" Now my arm. You said you can do it." Dr. Whale says and Mr. Gold agrees," Oh, yes. But there's a difference between "can" and "will.""

Not wasting any time, Dr. Whale says," Name your price."

" Say it." Mr. Gold orders and Dr. Whale looks at him in confusion," Say what?"

Mr. Gold simply points out Dr. Whale's decision to visit him instead of going to a medical professional," You know what. You came here, not the hospital. So say it."

Dr. Whale sighs and he says," I need magic."

Mr. Gold smirks," That's all I needed to hear."

With that, Mr. Gold uses his magic to magically reattach Dr. Whale's arm before saying to him," Always a pleasure doing business with you, uh, Victor."

Land Without Colour, Past, Victor Frankenstein's Lab

In a world of black-and-white. The Doctor is revealed to be Dr. Victor Frankenstein. He enters his lab where his assistant is at work.

The Assistant looks and upon noticing that The Doctor has returned, he greets him," Doctor. You've returned. Did you find what you were looking for?"

Dr. Frankenstein nods," Yes."

He reveals the heart of Solomon Grundy, which has retained its red glow despite being in a colorless world.

" Look at it. It's remarkable, isn't it?" Dr. Frankenstein says and his Assistant nods," The final piece to the puzzle."

" I believe so. Let's begin." With that, Dr. Frankenstein performs the experiment and it appears to be successful.

The subject on the table raises its hand, causing Dr. Frankenstein lets out a loud scream of happiness," It's alive!"

Victor's Assistant smiles as he compliments Dr. Frankenstein," You did it. Victor, you did it."

" Yes... I believe I have." Dr. Frankenstein smiles at the resurrected monster and he greets him," Welcome back, brother."

The Assistant watches the figure rising up and he gasps out in amazement," It's magic, Dr. Frankenstein."

Only for Dr. Frankenstein to correct him," No. Not magic. Science."
