Back at the Sheriff's Station on the night the festival ended, Emma sat David down, handing him a mug of tea to which he thanks her," Thank you. I hope Kathryn's somewhere warm, not out in the cold."

Emma however, has a much more pessimistic news for him," David. I think you need to start worrying about yourself a little bit more here. Your wife is missing. You are in love with another woman. There's this... Unexplained phone call."

" I know, I know. I just... I can't explain why it says that." David looks up, his eyes full of sadness as he says to Emma," I didn't do anything to my wife."

Emma gets up, saying to him," I'm pretty good at spotting a liar. And, honestly, liars have better material. Now, go home."

" I can go?" David asks and Emma says," We don't even know if there was a crime yet. So, get some sleep."

" Thank you." David stands up, thanking her before turning around, as he is about to leave, Emma quickly calls out to him," And, David?"

David looks back as Emma suggest to him," Maybe... Get a lawyer."

Granny's Diner

At the same time in Granny's Diner, Zatanna is sitting on a booth, sipping her tea.

Across her, Ruby is flirting with August, who is seated at a table opposite her.

Ruby widens her eyes in awe, exclaiming out after listening to August's tale," You can't be serious. A whole year without a roof over your head?"

August shrugs," Well, you get used to it. Plus, I had the motorcycle. So, if I didn't like a place after a while...Shuuu"

He makes a sound, amusing Ruby as she giggles.

" Ruby?" Granny calls for Ruby, but Ruby ignores her, continuing her conversation with August," I've never even been out of Storybrooke. What was your favourite place?"

August answers," Nepal. Best people. They have these prayer temples carved into mountains that are overrun with lemurs."

" What's a Lemur?" Ruby asks in awe.

" Ruby!" Granny yells and Ruby yells back at her," Just give me a sec!"

August explains," They're little animals. And they have these eyes that reflect light. So, at night, it looks like they glow."

Granny, again, calls Ruby over to the counter," Ruby! Stop flirting and get over here!"

Past, Enchanted Forest, Lucas Cottage

Outside of the cottage, a young man named Peter knocks on the shutter of the door, listening as a frail voice calls out from the other side of the door," Who's there?"

Peter says," Let me in."

" I'm just a poor, old widow. Spare me!" The frail voice calls from behind the door.

" Let me in, or I'll..." Peter demands as the voice asks," Yes?"

Peter continues," I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow the..."

The shutter opens, revealing to be Red Riding Hood and she questions the boy's choice of words," You'll huff and puff?"

Peter puts his hands out," I couldn't think of nothing."

" Oh, so you thought that you'd level the house with the power of your breath? Well, a case could be made..." Red Riding Hood says to him flirtatiously,

" Oh, ho ho..." Peter chuckles.

Red Riding Hood however, shushes him," Shh! Granny's in the other room. You know she doesn't like me opening the shutters."

Peter agrees," No, she doesn't like me."

" That's what I meant." Little Red Riding Hood states as Peter urges her," You got to get out of here."

" I know. Anywhere." Red Riding Hood agrees.

" Well, a blacksmith's boy can get work all over." Peter offers, causing Red Riding Hood to ask," You'd leave everyone you know? You'd do that for me?"

Peter nods," I'd do anything for you."

" Peter, watch out. Your air of danger is slipping." Red Riding Hood warns but Peter simply brushes her off," Come out...just for a minute."

Red Riding Hood refuses," It's already dark. She'd never let me."

At that moment, the pair heard Granny's voice yelling out," Red! Where are you? What are you doing?"

Red tries to go back in, but Peter holds onto her wrist, causing her to demand," Let go."

" Pay the price. One kiss." Peter persuades, as the pair hears Granny's voice getting closer and louder," Red, get in here!"

Red quickly kisses Peter and shuts the shutters.

She goes into the main room, where several men with torches are talking to Granny before asking her grandmother," What's going on?"

" Nothing that concerns you. Just a bunch of fools trying to get themselves killed over a few dead sheep." Granny answers her granddaughter's question as she refers to the hunting party outside the door.

" Wolf took out a dozen last night." One of the men states.

Red Riding Hood then questions her grandmother," So, you called me in here to what? Just to keep me in sight?"

One of the men notices Red Riding Hood and he greets her," Good evening, Red. We're just forming up a hunting party."

" You're hunting the wolf?" Ruby then begs her grandmother," Can I go with them, please? I'll be safe in a big group."

" Don't be ludicrous." Granny objects," You are staying inside and you're keeping that hood on. You know red repels wolves."

Despite what her grandmother says, Red Riding Hood looks at the lack of red on the men's clothing and she points out," They're not wearing red."

" They're damn fools, too." Granny says before turning back to the men," There's only two more nights left in Wolfstime...let it take a few sheep. Now, go home."

Granny shuts the door in their faces as Red Riding Hood complains," If only that magician was here. Then, we can have lives again."

" You just want to roam around the woods with that wastrel Peter." Granny says.

" He's not a wastrel. He works hard. He has plans." Red Riding Hood argues only for Granny to scoff," Oh, I am sure he does. Now, come on. You know what to do."

Granny and Red prepare the cottage for defense against the wolf.

They barricade and lock the doors and windows, as well as barring the fireplace.

With the work done, Granny instructs Red Riding Hood," Now, go to sleep, girl."

" Yes, Granny." Red Riding Hood nods.

" I hope I don't see that boy mooning around here tomorrow. And wear the hood!" Granny calls out as Red Riding Hood nods," Yes, Granny."

Red goes into her room, while Granny sits facing the door with a crossbow, guarding the house for any signs of the wolf.

Present, Storybrooke, Granny's Diner

At the diner, Ruby finally goes to meet Granny at the counter and she angrily whispers at her grandmother," I can't believe you did that. That was humiliating."

Zatanna listens in, sipping her tea as she hears Granny saying to Ruby," I want you to start working Saturday nights."

Upon hearing that, Ruby argues," Come on...we have an agreement about Saturday night."

Granny explains," I want to start training you to do the books and the reorders. Business is booming lately, and, with more money, comes more paperwork."

" Yeah. None of that sounds good." Ruby scoffs as Granny tries to convince her," It's got to be done."

" Is this a punishment for talking to that guy?" Ruby sulks.

" If I wanted to punish you, I'd have better reasons." Granny scolds Ruby," For one thing, you were late. For another thing, Liza, you dress like a drag queen during Fleet Week."

" And you dress like Norman Bates when he dresses like Norman Bates' mother." Ruby retorts.

" Ruby, you're a grown woman. You can't keep acting like some kid." Granny says and

Ruby argues," You just want me to act like you until I turn into you. Well, I am not a fossil yet, Granny. I should be out there having adventures with lemurs!"

" Well, as long as you work here, you are going to listen to me." Granny strongly states only for Ruby to talk back," I didn't ask to work here."

" Well, then what's keeping ya?" Granny challenges and Ruby shouts," Nothing! I quit!"

Ruby storms out of the diner as Zatanna watches in shock, turning to Granny as she asks her," What was that all about?"

" How should I know? Ask her!" Granny simply answers before getting back to her work.

Past, Enchanted Forest, Lucas Home

In the morning, Ruby exits her room and finds Granny still guarding the front door.

She asks Granny," Did you get any sleep at all last night?"

Granny simply dismisses her granddaughter's concern," I'll sleep with the trolls in the afterlife. I'll get the shutters. You go check if that wolf left the chickens alone."

" Yes, Granny." As Ruby leaves, Granny yells to her another reminder," Wear your hood!"

Chicken Coop

Red Riding Hood is busy collecting eggs in the chicken coop. When she goes to leave, right at that moment, she hears a noise coming from the corner.

She turns around, seeing Snow White, who is holding two eggs, revealing herself as she quickly apologizes to Red Riding Hood," I'm sorry. I can go."

Red Riding Hood approaches her, asking," Are you...stealing our eggs?"

Snow White looks down and she attempts to lie," No." She pauses before admitting out," Not a lot."

" Hey, hey. It's... It's all right." Red Riding Hood smiles, assuring Snow White as she smiles at her with that of gratitude," Thank you. It was just that, um, last night... There was something out there. There was howling, and... I heard it. And it was so cold, so..."

" Hey. Come on – come with me." Red Riding Hood invites Snow White as she introduces herself,
" Everyone calls me Red."

" I'm Sn- Frosty." Snow White lies but Red Riding Hood isn't convinced," Frosty? Really?"

Snow White shakes her head," No." She then explains," It's just that someone's looking for me, so..."

" You don't know or trust me yet. Hey, I-I get it. I just need something to call you." Red Riding Hood assures Snow White as she then creates a new name for herself," Uh, Margaret. Oh, no. Uh, Mary."

" Mary. Well, then, Mary...come on." Red Riding Hood beckons Snow White as the girl follows her out of the chicken coop.

Red Riding Hood leads Snow White into the forest, heading towards a well as Red Riding Hood says to her," I just got to bring in some water before we go in. It'll just take a second."

Snow White heard the sound of wolf howling and she asks Red Riding Hood,

" It's Wolfstime. Killer wolf out there. As big as a pony, but a lot more bloodthirsty. It's been stalking the area pretty regular." Red Riding Hood explains as she prepares to draw water from the well," It kills cattle and... Hang on." Red grabs the rope of the bucket in the well. realizing it is stuck.

" It sticks sometimes. Could you just..." Snow White grabs onto the rope, helping Red Riding Hood pull up the bucket. When she turns around, her eyes widens in horror, in shock at what she see.

The water inside the bucket is red.

" Look. Look at that. Mary, look at the water." Red Riding says, only to not get a respond from Snow White," Mary. Mary. Mary?"

Red Riding Hood turns around and sees what Snow White is staring at. Behind them in the clearing, there are several bloodied bodies.

Present, Storybrooke, Street

At night, Mary Margaret runs to catch up with Emma on the street.

The two of them walk together as Mary Margaret inquires," Is he okay? David?"

" Oh, yeah. He's a little shaken up, but he's headed home. He's fine." Emma nods, assuring Mary Margaret as she asks," Any word from Kathryn?"

" Nothing new." Emma shakes her head.

" Did you check with Boston again?" Mary Margaret inquires and Emma answers," She's not there, Mary Margaret."

" So, we have no idea what happened to her?" Mary Margaret questions as Emma simply answers," All we know, is that she found out about you two, gave you a well-deserved slap, and then disappeared."

Mary Margaret stares at Emma for her remark," Well-deserved? Do you really believe that?"

" No." Emma denies and she explains the reality of this situation," I'm just preparing you for what everyone else is going to think. You two are going to look bad until we figure the truth out."

" You mean David?" Mary Margaret looks worried and she expresses out," Th-That people are going to think in order to... Be free with me..."

" Some are." Emma says to her frankly," And, he's not doing himself any favours. So, if there's anything you could think of to pin down his whereabouts that night..."

" He wasn't with me. We really are through." Mary Margaret quickly denies.

The two of them come across Ruby, who is waiting at a bus stop, and Zatanna who is talking to her.

" Really Ruby, are you sure you don't need help?" Zatanna asks as Ruby nods," I'm fine."

Zatanna notices the two and she greets them,
" Mary Margaret. Emma. Hi."

" Hey." Mary Margaret greets Zatanna and she questions," What's going on?"

" Ruby has a falling out with Granny and she intends to leave town." Zatanna says which causes Emma to ask Ruby," You're leaving?"

Ruby nods," Like she said. I even quit my job."

" Where you going?" Mary Margaret asks and Ruby answers while holding back her tears," I don't know. Away."

Emma looks around and she says to her," Yeah, well, buses out of town don't really happen. And, you might want a destination first."

However, Mary Margaret offers," Hey, if you need a place to figure things out, you could always come home with us."

Emma was about to protest only for Zatanna to nudge her, prompting her to nod quickly," Yeah, uh. Yeah. Just for a little while."

Ruby smiles, grateful to the offer as Mary Margaret beckons her," Come on."

Past, Storybrooke, Tavern

At a local tavern, all of the village's citizens are gathered, buzzing with discussion over the matter. One of the men who was with the hunting party speaks to the group," The one thing I know, is that last night, was the very last massacre."

The cheers out, agreeing and outraged over the man's story as he continues," You know, if I had stayed with that party for another ten minutes, I, too, would be among the dead."

While he is talking, Granny, Red, and Snow White, donning a hood to hide her face enter as he spoke," And, when I think if I'd only doubled back, maybe...I could've caught it in the act. Maybe, I would've been able to slay the creature."

" You would not." Granny spoke up, causing the citizens to turn as the man acknowledges her by her real name," Widow Lucas."

" This creature is more powerful than you can imagine. You wouldn't have a chance. Stay inside, hide your children, forget your livestock." Granny warns the villagers.

However, the man dismisses her," You said all this before."

" But, I haven't said how I know." The villagers listens as Granny explains," Nearly threescore years ago, I was a child with six older brothers. Big as oak trees, all of them veterans of the Second Ogres War. And my father, the biggest of them all. Come one Wolfstime, he decided to go out and take on the wolf. A different wolf back then, of course, but just as fearsome. They went out there to protect me. I was supposed to be asleep, but I crawled out on the roof to watch and lay down in the thatch. They had the beast surrounded, the seven of them, with spears all pointed in at it. And then it started. It was lunging – not at the men, at the spears. Grabbing with its teeth, breaking the shafts. They stabbed it with the splintered end, but it didn't matter. It tore their throats so fast, that not a one of them got a chance to scream... Or pray... Or say goodbye. When my father died, I tumbled from the roof, and I landed in the blood in front of the wolf. I felt its breath on my face. Then, it clamped its hot jaw on my arm, and I rolled away."

She pulls back her sleeve, revealing several large, parallel scars.

The villagers stares in shock as they silently listens as Granny finishes her tale," Then, it looked at me with eyes so black, they weren't even there. Then, it walked away. You ever see a wild animal just turn its back and walk away like you don't matter? If this wolf is like that one, there is no defeating it. It's already won just by existing in our world. You don't kill it – you just hide."

As the old woman continues to tell the villagers about the wold, Red Riding Hood and Snow White are sitting by the fireplace at the cottage as Snow White comments to Red Riding Hood about her grandmother," So, your Granny's kind of intense."

"Yeah, a bit. I feel like a rat in a trap." Red Riding Hood agrees and Snow White asks," Is this trap keeping you from...being with someone?"

Red Riding Hood looks at her and she questions," How did you know?"

" Well, I saw some looks exchanged back there, and, I hate to break it to you, but it wasn't subtle." Snow White explains and

Red Riding Hood agrees," Yes. Peter. We've been friends forever, but... Now things are... Well, changing."

" That must be nice." Snow White remarks and Red Riding Hood asks her," Do you have someone?"

Snow White quickly shakes her head," Oh, no. I'm not sure that's in my future. You're lucky, Red."

Red Riding Hood sighs out pessimistically," I know. And we're talking about going away together. But I don't even get any time with him. Granny's too afraid of the wolf to let me out alone. You saw what the wolf did. Sometimes, I wonder if she's right."

" Oh, she's right about the wolf. But, she's wrong to use it to keep you from love." Snow White says.

An idea struck Red Riding Hood as she suggests," You think that's what she's doing? Let's kill the wolf."

" Hang on." Snow White tries to stop Red Riding Hood but she continues," We'd be heroes."

" Red, teams of trained hunters have been killed." Snow White tries to convince Red Riding Hood but she refuses to listen," But they go at night when it's got the advantage. If we went now, we could find it slumbering in its den and kill it in its sleep. Come on."

Snow White stares at her, unsure," Red, I don't know."

" I'm going – with or without you. But, you're right – I can't let her keep me trapped forever." Red Riding Hood declares out.

Present, Storybrooke, Exit

Mary Margaret drives her car along the road out of Storybrooke and pulls over just before she reaches the sign.

She gets out and goes into the woods. A short ways into the woods, she hears a rustling sound, causing her to turn.

Suddenly, David appears through the brush, startling Mary Margaret," I...it's you. You okay? You're looking for Kathryn, too?"

David says," I'm looking."

" She knows you didn't do anything. Emma, I mean. She can tell when people are lying, so... She knows. And I'll stand with you. I'll tell everyone this isn't possible. She's going to turn up somewhere. That's why we're out here, right?" Mary Margaret asks.

" I'm looking." That was all David says, causing Mary Margaret to stare at him in concern," David?"

David begins to wander back into the woods, causing Mary Margaret to call out to him," David? David!"

She yells to him, but he doesn't seem to hear her before disappearing deeper into the woods.

Past, Enchanted Forest, Woods

Deep in the forest,,Snow White and Red are searching for tracks. Snow White notices some and she asks," What about that?"

Red Riding Hood explains," That's a dog. See how small that is? Don't look where the snow's drifted – it covers tracks."

Snow White then notices another print and she points out," Hey. Over here."

Red Riding Hood looks at it and she says,
" That...is a rabbit. What we're looking for will be huge. Like a dog print, but big. Like, eight inches across with big, long claws."

" Like these?" Snow White points, directing Red Riding Hood towards a trail of massive paw prints leading through the forest.

" Yes. And those. Oh, my gods. How big is this thing?" Red Riding Hood gasps out, in shock at the size of the wolf paw prints.

Snow White looks across the ground, observing the creature's movement through its footwork," This was one stride? From here... To there?"

Red Riding Hood then beckons Snow White," Come on – over there. Through the brush, and off towards the hill."

" You're good at this." Snow White compliments Red Riding Hood as she smiles," When there's something I want, I'm good at tracking it down."

Present, Storybrooke, Sheriff's Station

At the station, Zatanna is searching the internet for a job for Ruby while Henry sits next to the two.

The phone on the desk continuously rings as Zatanna asks," Want to be a bike messenger?"

" Bike messenger?" Ruby asks as Zatanna explains," That's about taking things to people in a little basket."

Ruby shakes her head, declining the offer," Nope. Yeah, see, I'm not so great at bike riding."

Zatanna then suggests," You know, if you want a job out of town, I heard the Daily Planet is looking for a clerk."

" Yeah, I'm not sure I can handle that job." Ruby declines.

Zatanna search the computer again, and she suggest another place,

" How about cheerleading tryouts in Detroit, I heard they are looking for one for the Hayward Football match."

" Cheerleading? Hm..."

As Ruby thinks about it, considering Zatanna's offer, the phone rings again, prompting Ruby to ask," Why do the phones keep doing that?"

" Oh, the non-emergency calls go to a machine when Emma's busy." Zatanna answers her question as she searches the computer for more job opportunities for Ruby.

The phone rings, again, but this time, Ruby answers it," Sheriff's station. How can I help you? Mmhmm. I'll get her to return. Thank you, too."

She answers the next call," Sheriff's station. Hey, Miss Ginger. Uh, no, that's not a prowler. That's Archie's dog – Pongo. Throw him a vanilla wafer. He'll quiet down. Did you still want to talk to Emma? Great. Glad I could help."

Right at that moment, Emma, who has overheard Ruby on the phone, walks in and she asks," How's it going guys?"

" Great. Except I can't do anything." Ruby sighs out only for Emma to disagree with her," I'm sure that's not true. I just saw you on the phone. That was good."

" That? That's nothing." Ruby shrugs off what happened but Emma disagrees," No. No, it isn't."

She then offers," You know, I actually have some money in the budget if you want to help out around here."

Ruby's eyes brightens as she accepts Emma's offer,
" Yes! Thank you! Yes. Um, I could answer phones and help out. Um, is there anything else that you need done? Organize files, cleaning up? Please – I want to be useful."

Emma then says to Ruby," I'm swamped with the Kathryn Nolan thing. If you maybe want to grab us lunch, I would never say no to a grilled cheese."

" Get me a cheeseburger." Zatanna adds.

" Done." Ruby turns to Henry and she asks," You want anything?

" Um, two chocolate chip cookies, an apple pie, and a hot dog." Henry says only Emma to chuckle and tell Ruby to ignore his order," He ate at school."

As Ruby goes to leave, Mary Margaret enters, causing Ruby to stop her," Hey! Lunch, Mary Margaret? I'm getting for everyone."

" Uh, no. I'm not hungry." Mary Margaret refuses and Ruby simply leaves to pick up food for the sisters.

Zatanna then notices Mary Margaret's concerned expression and she asks, " Hey Mary Margaret, what happened?"

" David's in the woods. There's something wrong with him. He looked right through me. It's like... It's like he was a different person." Mary Margaret answers, causing both Emma and Zatanna to look at each other in concern.

Past, Enchanted Forest, Woods

Red and Snow White are still tracking the wolf through the forest as Snow White points at the tracks," Here's another one."

" Right. And then here's..." What Red Riding Hood saw causes her to trail off.

Red Riding Hood looks down, and notices that the tracks no longer resemble just paw prints causing

Snow White to exclaim out in shock and confusion," What?"

Red Riding Hood looks and she points out,
" This print...it looks like it's... Half-wolf and half-boot. See?"

" Wolves don't wear boots." Snow White points out and Red Riding Hood agrees," No, they don't."

" Then it just continues like it was a man?" Snow White asks Red Riding Hood continues," Like it was a man and a wolf."

Snow White stares at Red Riding Hood in concern and she asks her," Red, what kind of monster is this?"

The two of them continue to follow the tracks as
Red Riding Hood spoke up," So..."

" Yeah?" Snow White nods as

Red Riding Hood explains," Wolfstime is once a month on the full moon. There's a story I heard once about a creature..."

" Hey. Aren't we awfully close to the cottage?" Snow White quickly interrupts Red Riding Hood.

The pair stops and notices the tracks lead to the side window of Red and Granny's cottage, causing
Snow White to ask," Who's gone to your window, Red? Is it Peter? Red, has he been at your window?"

Red Riding Hood thinks and she answers,
" Last night – before the killings. And he never joined the guys to hunt the wolf."

" But I'm sure he wouldn't have killed them." Snow White says as Red Riding Hood tells her," He wouldn't. But when the wolf takes over..."

Snow White then asks," What about tonight's hunting party?"

Red Riding Hood gasps, realising what is going to happen," They're going to kill him. Or he's going to kill them."

" It doesn't have to be that way." Snow White assures
Red Riding Hood as she asks her," What can we do?"

" Tell him. If he doesn't know, tell him. Stop him. If he'll listen to anyone, if he'll believe anyone, it's you." Snow White answers.

Red Riding Hood looks at Snow White," You think I can save him?"

" I think you can save everyone." Snow White says with her eyes filled with hope.

Red Riding Hood then tells Snow White," It's going to be dark soon. Granny will be out of her mind with worry if we're not home. She'll go out there. Mary, this is so bad."

" So do something." Snow White tells her.

Red Riding Hood nods, understanding what she needs to do," You're right. I have to."

Present, Storybrooke, Granny's Diner

Outside of Granny's Diner, Ruby stood outside, contemplating and knowing about facing her grandmother once more.

After composing herself, she enters the diner, where Granny, the staff and the customers are all directing their attention towards Ruby.

Ruby enters Granny's Diner and walks up to the counter to order.

" I need a couple of grilled cheeses and a cheeseburger. I'm working over at the sheriff's station now." She says as Granny nods," Ah."

" Sort of like a... Like a Deputy, you know? I guess sometimes, your fate finds you." Ruby says as
Granny replies," Seems kind of like you're doing the same thing you always done."

Ruby adds," Plus so much more."

" Those will be right up." Granny says, passing the order ticket to the kitchen staff as Ruby nods," Yeah."

" Tony has to unwrap the cheese slices." Granny explains awkwardly.

" I help solve crimes." Ruby informs as Granny nods," I'm sure you do. I hope you're finding what you're looking for."

" I am." Ruby says.

Past, Enchanted Forest, Woods

Red Riding Hood and Peter are sitting by a fire in the forest and Peter stares at his girlfriend, shocked by her accusation," You think this wolfman is me? Red, you know me."

Red Riding Hood says," I know it's not you, really, but I think it's using your body."

" Wouldn't I know? I mean, wouldn't I wake up in the woods? Wouldn't I remember something?" Peter asks, confused.

" Maybe. Maybe, it makes you forget." Red Riding Hood theorises.

Peter sat back, his face full of horror as he stutters,
" Oh, my gods. Those men – they died. If I did that..."

" Forget the past. Think of the future. We can go now, Peter. Have lives. All we need to do is tie you up during the Wolfstime, and I know where to get rope." Red Riding Hood says.

But Peter shakes his head," No. Not rope."

He picks up a chain off of the ground, offering it to her," Chains. Just in case... Just in case you're right. I'll show you how to rig it up so that I can't get out. And then you need to get away from me."

Red Riding Hood refuses," No. I'm staying with you. I'll stay with you all night, and for all the nights to come."

" You'd do that for me?" Peter asks, smiling as
Red Riding Hood assures the boy," I'd do anything for you."

Present, Storybrooke, Sheriff's Station

Back at the station, Emma and Zatanna are getting ready to leave, while Henry is hiding his book.

Emma then says to Henry," Okay, kid. Don't mean to kick you out, but we got to go see if David's in some kind of trouble out there."

" It's okay. I'm supposed to meet my mom." Henry says.

He locks his book in one of the desk drawers and he smiles at how securely it is locked," There."

" Nice." Emma compliments him.

Henry then says to Emma," You know, you can let Ruby do more. She's Little Red Riding Hood."

Emma looks at him, eyebrow raised as she chuckles,
" With the little basket? Yeah, she seems like a badass."

" She is. She just doesn't remember how cool she is or what she's capable of. But it's true." Henry says.

" The kid's got a point Emma. We could do more than just let Ruby do simple tasks." Zatanna agrees with Henry as Emma ponders.

At that moment, Ruby returns with the food as Henry leaves, greeting her," Hey, Ruby."

" Hey, Henry." Ruby greets Henry before handing the food to Emma," Got your grilled cheese and cheeseburger"

" Thank you." As Emma takes the food, she asks Ruby," You all right?"

" I guess. I mean, this is something I know how to do. So, yay." Ruby cheers out sarcastically as she takes a sip of her shake.

This is where Zatanna steps in," Okay, let's pack these back up, and we can eat it in the car. We need to do a little wilderness search, and we could use your help."

Ruby however, seems doubtful," I'm pretty sure I'm just going to screw it up. I mean, I'll screw it up with flair, but..."

Emma however, disagrees," No, you won't. Come on – you can do this."

Forest

In the woods, Zatanna Emma and Ruby are searching through the woods in search of David.

Ruby pushes a tree branch aside and she questions out," This place is massive. How are we supposed to find one guy?"

" Hey, shh. We might be able to hear him." Zatanna says as Ruby remarks over the forest size," It's massive."

Emma says to Ruby," We're following the path because there are boot prints, so just stay close."

Ruby continues to complain,

" I shouldn't even be here. I'm just going to screw everything up. Oh, wait."

What Ruby saw causes her to stop walking, causing to Emma bump into her.

" Ruby?" Emma asks as Ruby says to the two women," I hear him."

" Really?" Zatanna asks as Emma adds," How?"

" Yeah, really. I hear him or...something. I... I know where he is. Don't you?" Ruby says before taking off through the woods, causing Emma to yell out to her," No. What are you doing?"

" He's over here!" Ruby calls out, prompting Zatanna and Emma to run after her.

" Ruby! Ruby?" Emma calls out and the two stops, seeing Ruby standing over a bleeding and unconscious David.

Emma kneels next to him, and tries to shake him awake," David? Oh, god. Come on! David, come on! Wake up! David, wake up!"

David wakes up, groggily looking up to see Emma, Ruby and Zatanna looking down at him in concern," Emma? What? Ruby? Zatanna?"

Zatanna asks," Do you remember where you are?"

David shakes his head," No, I... What the hell? I was..."

He looks at Emma and he says to her," I was in your office. Did you bring me here?"

Emma stares at him, confused and concern as she asks," You don't remember anything since you were in my office? Last night?"

David simply shakes his head," No, I don't."

Hospital

At the hospital, Zatanna and Emma stood in front of Dr. Whale while David is seated down, being treated.

Dr. Whale briefs to the two women about David's condition," Well, he's bruised, scratched up, a little dehydrated. What'd you expect."

" He's got a cut on his head." Zatanna states only for Dr. Whale to brush it off," It's superficial. I can refer him to Dr. Hopper for a mental health eval, but, it's my opinion, that whatever caused this blackout, is the same phenomenon we observed when he came out of his coma. Moving around, acting out, not remembering it later."

" We will figure it out." Emma assures him as David mutters," It's so strange. I can't even believe it happened."

Emma: How functional could he be during one of these episodes? I mean, he talked to someone.

Dr. Whale: Well, people in similar states, even under sleep medication, do all sorts of things. Cooking, talking, driving a car.

David: You want to know if I could've made that call. Or more. You... You want to know if I could've... What, kidnapped her? Killed her?

Dr. Whale: Now, take it easy there. No one's saying you did anything bad, David.

David: No, but it would explain why it didn't seem like I was lying. I wouldn't know.

While the four are busy in conversation, Regina quickly storms into the room, telling David,

" Stop talking, David."

She then turns to Emma and Zatanna, questioning out in outrage," What are you doing here? Why doesn't this man have a lawyer present? Have you even read him his rights?"

Emma shakes her head," No, because he's not under arrest. We're just talking."" Right. Just talking." Regina replies sarcastically.

" What are you doing here?" Zatanna questions Regina's involvement and Dr. Whale answers her question," Mayor Mills is still Mr. Nolan's emergency contact."

" You have to be kidding me." Zatanna groans out in annoyance as David questions," I thought that changed to Kathryn?"

" Well, Kathryn's currently unavailable. Some people haven't found her yet. Stop trying to place blame and just find her." Regina spat

" There's a whole lot of Maine to search, Regina." Emma says to Regina only for the Mayor to command," Well, you covered this room. I suggest you branch out."

Sheriff's Office

Back at the Sheriff's Office, the phone rings and Ruby promptly answers the phone," Sheriff's station, thank you for calling. How may I direct your..."

The voice across the phone interrupts Ruby, revealing to be Emma as she instructs Ruby," Hey, stop. It's me. Here's the thing – the last time David went for a dream walk, he went to the Toll Bridge. You know the one? It's a crazy hunch, but I want you to take my bug and go and see if he was there."

Not feeling confident in herself, Ruby refuses," No, why don't you send Zatanna instead? Or maybe I could get somebody else to."

" Ruby, you were great out there. I still don't know how you found him. You can do this." Emma assures her.

" I don't know." Ruby says pessimistically only for Emma to state strongly," It's going to be dark out soon. David's going to be let out. If there is something there, we've got to get there first. We don't have time to argue. Can you do this?"

Zatanna could only listen in, feeling concerned for Ruby.

Toll Bridge

Soon, the bug stops at the toll bridge, revealing to be Ruby who was the one who drove the car.

She gets out, while still on the phone with Emma," I mean, what am I even looking for?"

" Anything out of the ordinary. Something that doesn't belong there." Emma answers through the phone.

Ruby heads toward the bank of the river flowing under the bridge, asking Emma," And...if I find something?"

" Just follow your instincts." That was all Emma instructs.

Ruby finds a board near the water. She flips in over, revealing a patch of sand underneath it. Ruby puts Emma on speaker and places the phone on a nearby rock.

She grabs a stick and begins to dig, until she hits something hard. Ruby brushes the sand away with her hand. The object turns out to be a small jewelry box.

Ruby then asks Emma," You...can't give me a clue what I'm looking for?"

"  Anything of Kathryn's." Emma answers.

Ruby lifts up the jewelry box as Emma questions through the phone," Ruby? What's going on? Did you find something?"

Ruby opens the box, but what she saw causes her drop it, letting out a bloodcurling scream," AAAHHHHHHHH!!!"

" Ruby? Ruby?" Emma's concerned voice calls out through the phone while Zatanna's voice could also be heard asking," What? What's going on? What happened to Ruby?"

Past, Enchanted Forest, Lucas's Cottage

In Red Room, Snow White, who is wearing Red's hood, pretends to be asleep in Red Riding Hood's room.

At that moment, Granny enters and approaches the bed, calling out," Where's Mary? Come on, girl – wake up. We best bar the door. If Mary's not back by now, she'll have to take her chances."

Granny pulls back the hood and discovers it's Snow White as she declares out to Granny," She's in no danger."

Granny questions," What have you done?"

" No, it's okay. It's alright. It's fine." Snow White tries to calm Granny down but the old lady continue to interrogate her," Where is she?"

" She's... Well, she's with Peter. And I know that you don't like him, but that's really beside the point." Snow White confesses as

Granny angrily spat," You stupid, careless, ridiculous girl."

Snow White shakes her head," No. You don't understand. Peter isn't... This is going to be difficult to accept. You just have to trust me. He's the wolf."

Granny simply stares at her, shocked at what she heard from Snow White," You think Peter is the wolf?"

Snow White: Yes. This terrible creature is also human. It's okay, though. He won't hurt her. She's got him tied up.

" He's tied up? Oh, that poor boy." Granny shakes her head, her filled with worry and fear.

Woods

Back in the woods, Peter is chained to a tree in the woods.

He struggles against the chains, while growling is heard in the background

" Red, no. Red! It's me. Don't! Don't!" Peter begs as Red Riding Hood,  who has transformed into a large snarling wolf, approaches him,

" Please! Red! No! Red! No! Red! Red, No!"

The wolf lunges at Peter as the boy's cries echoes into the night.

Present, Storybrooke, Sheriff's Station

At the station, Emma, Zatanna and Ruby stare at the opened jewelry box sitting on the desk as

Ruby asks, apparently shaken by her discovery, " Is... Is that what I think it is?"

Zatanna nods," Yeah."

" I can't look." Ruby turns around and Emma shuts the lid of the box, asking the girl in concern," You okay?"

Ruby sobs and she gasps," I don't know what I am."

Emma places her hands on her shoulders and she comforts Ruby," It's going to be all right. We can figure out what happened now. Ruby, you did good."

" This, is doing good?" Ruby turns, asking as Emma nods," Yeah. It's amazing. First, you found David, and now, this. I know you say you don't know what you are, but, whatever it is, I got to say, I'm impressed."

Ruby however, doesn't feel proud of what she has done," Don't be. I'm... I'm scared out of my mind."

" But you did it anyway." Emma says.

Zatanna then gives Ruby a cup of coffee and she says," You know what, have a coffee and take the night off. You deserve it."

Ruby nods and she takes the coffee, leaving the sheriff's office as Zatanna asks Emma,

" This is disturbing beyond belief. Just who could have done this?"

" I don't know," Emma says," Just go take care of David I will bring this to forensic team tomorrow. Don't tell anybody about this."

" You got it sis." Zatanna nods.

Past, Enchanted Forest, Woods

In the woods, Granny and Snow White are walking through the forest to find Peter and Red as Snow White asks Granny," You knew?"

Granny spills the tea to the girl," Of course I knew. Her mother was one, too, before a hunting party killed her. I thought maybe Red didn't get it, but when she was thirteen, it started. I paid a wizard for that cloak – keeps her from turning. But, she doesn't wear it, and she's found some way out of the house."

" Why didn't you tell her?" Snow White asks and Granny answers," I didn't want her to have that burden. It's a terrible burden."

Snow White remembered the story Granny told back at the tavern and she gasps," That story you told..."

" That was her grandfather. He marked me that night. Then came back, found me, turned me." Granny explains, causing Snow White to freeze upon realizing what Granny is," Turned you... You're... Granny? How are you tracking her?"

" By smell. I still have that, even though the rest of it has faded away." Granny answers, revealing herself to be a werewolf before blaming herself," Gods, I was a fool to think I could keep this from her. I am a fool and I have cost so many lives."

" But you didn't mean to. That's the main thing." Snow White says as

Granny questions," Is it?"

Granny hands the lantern to Snow White, and then takes out a crossbow, saying to Snow White," Here – a silver-tipped arrow will drop her."

" Oh." Snow White gasps as Granny shushes her," Shh! Follow me. We're approaching from downwind, so we have a chance."

The two of them slowly edge their way down the incline, until they reach the location where Red Riding Hood and Peter are located.

Red Riding Hood is munching on Peter's corpse, her wolf form towering over the pair.

As Granny sneaks past, she accidentally steps on a stick, creating a cracking sound that attracts the wolf's attention.

The wolf turns around, not recognizing her grandmother and friend before lunging at them.

Granny opens fire but the wolf swings her paws out, smashing through the arrow as Granny curses out,

" Dang it!"

Granny and Snow White ducks as the wolf pounces, dodging the creature as it recoils across the snow, it's body smashing through a tree with ease.

As the tree falls, Snow White remarks out, horrified at the creature's strength," Holy Cow!"

GRRROWWW!!!

The wolf growls and she lunges.

However right at that moment, a blast of magic struck the wolf, sending her flying back.

Granny and Snow White turns around and Snow White immediately recognizes the man," It's you!"

Zatara and Zatanna stood over the two as the magician asks," Are you two alright?"

" Yeah but don't hurt her, that's my granddaughter!" Granny yells as Zatanna assures her," Don't worry, we won't."

The wolf recovers and she lunges, snapping her jaws as Zatanna approaches her.

The wolf bites down, causing Snow White and Granny to gasp out in horror," No!"

However, the wolf widens her eyes as she looks down, noticing that her prey is nowhere to be seen.

Apparently, Zatanna used an illusion to trick her.

The wolf turns, revealing Zatanna to be standing behind her as she yells out to her father," Now!"

" Sniahc!" Zatara chants as he unleashes a coil of chains, wrapping around the wolf as it growls and thrashes.

Using his magic, Zatanna and Zatara holds the wolf up as Zatara shouts to Granny," It's now or never!"

" Cloak!" Granny commands.

Snow White hands Granny the cloak, which she then throws over the wolf, covering it.

A wave of magic surges through the cloak, reverting Red Riding Hood back to her human form as the thrashing movement slows down and the size of the creature began shrinking.

While Zatara and Zatanna lowers Red Riding Hood down, Snow White went to check on Peter, gasping as she realizes that Peter is dead.

" It's too late. He's gone." Granny says to Snow White sadly as Red Riding Hood, now back in human form, arises but is disorientated as she asks," Who's gone?"

" Get up, girl. Get ready to run." Granny commands while Red Riding Hood questions, confused," What's going on?"

Snow White tugs at her, pulling her up," Come on, Red."

Zatara and Zatanna looks up, hearing the angry shouts of the the hunting party from a far as Granny asks Red Riding Hood," Don't you hear them?"

" We have to go." Snow White urges as Red Riding Hood questions out, still confused," Go? I don't understand."

Zatara says to her," She'll tell you everything. You better leave now."

Red Riding Hood looks at Zatara, confused as she questions," What? I'm confused. What's happened? Who are they? Where's Peter?"

" He wasn't the wolf." Snow White simply says, her voice filled with sadness as Red Riding Hood turns to her grandmother," Granny?"

Granny says to Red Riding Hood, her voice full of self-blame and regret," I was wrong to keep it from you. But, now, you have to go. Red. Go."

The shouting gets louder, and the torches of the hunting party shine through the trees as realization suddenly dawns on Red Riding Hood, causing her to gasp out in horror," It's me? Oh, gods, it's... It's me."

" Red, go." Granny commands only for Red Riding Hood to shake her head," I don't want to go like this."

" You have to." Granny says as Red Riding Hood shakes her head, horrified at the truth and finding out she had just eaten her boyfriend," No, no, no, no..."

Snow White places her hands on Red Riding Hood's shoulder, comforting the horrified Red Riding Hood," It's okay. It's going to be okay."

" Mary, there's no time." Granny urges Snow White as she nods," I know. I'll get her out of here."

Zatara looks as he greets Snow White," Don't worry, we will help her. It's nice to see you again though I wished it were through better circumstances."

" Yeah, for sure." Snow White agrees as Zatanna adds," Now get out of here, they're coming."

Supporting Red on her shoulder, Snow White leads the two of them to the woods. Granny stays behind alongside Zatara and Zatanna as the hunting party arrives.

Present, Storybrooke, Granny's Diner

The next day, Ruby enters the diner through the front door.

Granny is at the counter and upon noticing what she is wearing, she compliments her," You look good."

" Thanks." Ruby thanks her as Granny asks," Want something for the Sheriff and her sister?"

" No." Ruby declines as Granny groans out in agony," Ah!"

Granny grabs her arm in pain, revealing to be the same scars as she got from the Enchanted Forest as Ruby asks in concern," Your arm okay?"

" Same as it is every full moon." Granny answers before questioning Ruby," What are you doing here, Ruby? You here to tell me more about your fine new job?"

" I want to come back." Ruby declares only for Granny to scoff," Why? You were pretty mad."

" I wasn't mad." Ruby denies but Granny says," Looked like mad from here."

" Mmhmm, yeah. Here's the thing – um... You were talking about having me do all this stuff, and I...wasn't sure. I-I said that, you wanted me to turn into you, but... What I meant was," Ruby admits," I don't know how to be you. You're a tough act to follow."

" Oh." Granny expresses out as Ruby confesses," And then you wanted me to take on all this extra responsibility, and I... Guess I just got scared."

Granny says to her," Don't be. You shouldn't be."

" Well, I am. But, it's okay. I can do it anyway. I sort of found someone in myself that was more than I expected." Ruby smiles.

Granny then asks," What about adventure? What about lemurs?"

" Emma was my lemur. Heck, so was Zatanna. Did that, found out I could do that, and also that I don't want to. I don't want a job where a good day means ruining someone's life. I want to do something that makes me happy. Somewhere I love." Ruby says.

Granny sighs out and she then reveals the truth," Look – just so you know, I wanted you to do the books and everything, so you could take over when I retire. Own the whole place."

" Own it?" Ruby eyes widens as Granny nods," Sure. I mean, who else would I give it to but someone who loves me back?"

With that, Granny and Ruby embraces each other, reconciling their relationship as Granny remarks out to Ruby," Proud of you."

" What was that?" Ruby grins as Granny chuckles," You heard me."

Animal Shelter

Meanwhile at the animal shelter Mary Margaret and David are together while Zatanna sat on the chair listening in as Mary Margaret assures David," David, it's going to be okay."

David however, isn't convinced," Really? How do you know that? Because, I honestly can't say anything about my actions anymore."

" Well, there has to be an explanation." Mary Margaret says and David agrees," You're right. But the problem is, I don't think it's a good one."

Zatanna then says to David," Look, I get that you are scared but worrying about it right now is not going to fix it. We'll just wait for Emma to come and we will see what we can do from here."

At that moment, Emma steps in, causing David to stand up and he asks," What is it? Did you find her?"

" We found a box." Emma reveals and David gasps," Wait... Wait... What does that mean?"

Emma stutters, not sure how she is going to tell David,"We think it... We think that she..."

" What?" David questions, unable to endure the suspense any further.

Emma breaths in and she reveals the truth to David," There was a human heart inside it."

" Oh, my god." Mary Margaret gasps out in horror as David breaks down in tears, sobbing," No. No."

" We ran some tests and it was confirmed to be Kathryn's." Emma says, not improving the situation any further as Mary Margaret says to both Emma and Zatanna," Maybe you should go. Both of you."

" There's more." Emma says, causing

David to look up," What?"

Emma explains," There were fingerprints inside the lid of the box. I ran them through the records of everyone in town, and there was a match."

Without wasting any time, David begs Emma," Arrest me."

" No. David!" Mary Margaret tries to stop David as urges," Arrest me, Emma. Do it!"

" David, the fingerprints weren't yours." Emma says, causing David to gasp out in shock," What?"

Emma's face is filled with worry as she reveals her discovery," They were Mary Margaret's."

Emma answers, causing Zatanna and David to look at Mary Margaret who has a shock expression on her face.
