Rehearsal

'Thanks Roger. I would have drive but I can't with this injury'

'It's okay Miss. Koci. It's my pleasure to drive you'

Ava turned to me.

'We'll make a stop at the dancing studio. It will be a couple hours of rehearsing and I will introduce you to my dancers but you can play with your new NIntendo if you get bored' she smiled.

'Okay' she gave me a warm kiss on my forehead. Her kisses felt so good. She was a great mom.

We arrived at the dance studio and I saw a bunch of dancers stretching before the big dance with Ava.

'Girls! This is my daughter y/n'

They looked at me in astonishment.

'I'm adopted'

'Oooh! Ooookayy' They finally understood and I giggled.

'Y/n, these are the best dancers in the world, my backup dancers: Alyssa, Elyssa, Alex, Tiffany, Randi, Maggie and Kelsey'

'Hiiii!! Nice to meet you y/n' they said.

'You can wait there. You can either watch or play with your Nintendo. Or both' Ava pointed towards a chair in a corner of the room.

I took my nintendo and plugged it in so the battery charged as I watched them. They warmed up and started with some basic moves. I saw Ava wincing in pain a few times and I started to feel bad so I tried to distract myself with the Nintendo. I looked at the eStore and downloaded Fortnite because it was free.

I played a bit of Sonic while Fortnite downloaded but it was taking very long and I decided to leave the Nintendo before I spent all the battery. I looked again and they were dancing to some music.

Ava's POV

The wound hurt a lot but I closed my eyes and imagined myself on stage performing for my raging fans and that gave me enough strength to keep on dancing. My dancers were giving me worried looks too. They didn't know about the wound and I didn't want to worry them so I didn't say anything. When the song ended the girls approached me.

'Are you okay?'

'You didn't look as energetic as always...'

'Yes, did something happen?'

'I'm okay, girls. I think I didn't get enough sleep or something. Let's finish the rehearsal' I said.

We danced one last song and I gave them my best act pretending I was okay. It seemed to work because they didn't mention anything when we waved goodbye.

Your POV

Ava came towards me.

'Come on, we're leaving'

I unplugged the nintendo that had 100% battery and Fortnite now and put it in my purse.

Roger was still waiting outside. We got in the back seat and Ava gave Roger the directions before leaning on me.

'Have you figured out how that works?' she asked, pointing at the Nintendo in my purse.

'Yes. Do you want me to teach you? You will be so focused that you won't even feel the pain of your wound'

'Yes please'

I took the Nintendo out and started explaining.

'I downloaded Fortnite but it needs Wi-fi to work so instead we are going to play Sonic. You can play Sonic offline' I opened the app 'With this button you jump, you control the character with the joystick, you can run faster holding this...' I explained everything as I played and then handed the console to Ava.

'Now it's your turn'

Ava played really well! I had to remind her of a few things but she was very good. She won the final boss and gave me the Nintendo back.

'How did I do?' she asked.

'Are you kidding? You are the best player ever!'

'Thank you' she hugged me.

We arrived to the airport and walked through the paparazzi to then go through the security check. I was a bit scared of the scanner so Ava took my hand and we went through it together.

'See? It was nothing. I knew you could do it' she stroked my hand with her thumb while still holding my hand.

'Thanks mom' I gave her hand a light squeeze.
