Silverstream followed Willowbreeze to the bank of the river, as they reached the shore, the feeling of apprehension in Silverstream's stomach only grew.

Willowbreeze stopped by a bramble bush and turned to face Silverstream.
"There are some cats who I want you to meet Silverstream."

Silverstream's mother turned back to the bush and said: "You can come out now!" 2 small kits appeared from behind the bramble bush.

"Silverstream, meet you siblings, Minnowkit and Willowkit "
Willowkit, a smoky-black she-cat, padded up to her bigger sister. "Hi!" She purred.

Silverstream started in astonishment, Crookedstar had told her she had had two sisters whom had died from greencough but she never thought she would meet them!

"Badger got you tongue?" Minnowkit, a dark gray she-cat, meowed playfully. Silverstream purred in response, overwhelmed with emotions.

Willowbreeze, who had been watching her kits with affection, interrupted. "As much as I hate to interrupt we do have something to do today."

The two small kits nodded and followed their mother into the undergrowth. Silverstream also started walking along with her two siblings. She was puzzled, what had her mother meant with 'We have something to do today?'

They kept walking for a short time until they reached a cave. Willowbreeze motioned for Silverstream to enter the cave. As she stepped in, she felt the air shifting around her.

It felt different somehow, Silverstream couldn't quite describe it. Willowbreeze led her to a pool of water that glowed unnaturally. To Silverstream's growing amazement she even spoke to it.

"Silverstream, Sunningrocks"

The pool of water rippled and an image of her lying down, blood matting her fur, took place. Only it was as  if something had changed...

"I'm not breathing!"

Silverstream suddenly gasped, horror coursing through her. "What about Graystripe? What about my kits? How will they live without me?!"

Willowbreeze gently stroked her daughter's back with her tail. "Silverstream, I'm so sorry but I'm afraid your kits didn't make it."

Silverstream let out a wail and threw herself on the cold stone floor, her sisters pressed close to her on both sides.

"Why did you bring me here? To see me torn apart with grief?" The heart-broken queen yowled.

Willowbreeze's eyes hardened, "I would never do that to one of my kits! Never! I went through exactly the same Silverstream! I died along with Willowkit and Minnowkit and left Crookedstar alone!" The pale gray tabby hissed.

"I love you, Silverstream. I was heart-broken when I left you to fight the world on your own! I will not see my only surviving kit face the same fate!"
