Jungkook's POV

I woke up at around 7 in the morning and now it's 8:00 am.

I have to admit that since the moment I woke up, I've been waiting for a text message from my best friend.

I know that we are not in good terms but... how could she not greet me? aishh.

While resting on my bed, I heard eomma call my name.

"Jungkook! Since it's your birthday, we are going to the mall and I'll buy a gift of your choice. Dress up now. I'll be waiting for you in the car" she commanded as she continued fixing herself.

I nodded and said "Arasseo~"

I went back inside my room, took a shower and dressed up into a loose white tee, ripped jeans, and my favorite brown nike shoes.

I grabbed my snapback too as I left to head in the car.

"Im ready, eomma" I informed while I got inside the car and sat comfortably.

We are now on our way to the mall. I kept on glancing at my phone to check whether I already got a birthday greeting from her. Unfortunately, there was none.

Meanwhile, after a few minutes, my phone vibrated.

*1 new text message from Minah*

My eyes grew wider and wider as I smiled from ear to ear. I excitedly hit the read button and...

"HBD"

My wide smile suddenly turned to a frown.

How could she just greet me using three annoying letters? Just H and a B and a D?! This is silly. Is she really mad at me?

Usually when it's my birthday, Minah used to call me early in the morning right after she wake up.

I feel so glad whenever she calls me and I start to hear her just-woke-up-voice.

Aish. I should probably stop thinking of her now. I had enough. Im so done.

Few minutes more and we arrived at the mall. I started to look for shops that has good kinds of shoes. Yes. Shoes. I love shoes. I love shoes next to-

"Shoes again?! Our house's soon going to be full of shoes, Kookie." eomma said while she placed both of her hands on her waist.

Even if eomma informed me, I still asked her to buy me shoes as a present. And since Im the birthday boy, she was forced to buy me two pairs. Hah! lol.

After eomma paid, I asked her to go home now. Yes, I have this habit of wanting to go home right after I buy what I want. I don't want to walk around the mall for a few hours just to look at everything that I don't find interesting.

"Ani. We have to stay here because I'll shop for myself too" she quickly replied.

"Okay." I annoyingly answered back.

Sighs. Can I just drive myself home? Sighs.

Minah's POV

I woke up at 6:00 am.

I know it is my best friend's birthday today but I didn't greet him yet.

Usually when it is his birthday, I call him first thing when I wake up. Hmm.. Is he waiting for a text from me? Or?

Okay whatever! Enough now! I won't think of him first. I'll just print all the photos, buy all the food that he wants, buy him a present, and go to his house with Taehyung oppa to set-up the surprise in his room.

*after 4 hours*

I am finally in Jungkook's room with Oppa.

Since he is tall, I asked him to stick the banner on the wall. I also started to tie the photos on the end part of the balloon strings.

After a while, Oppa and I were so shocked to see that we're almost done setting up. We jumped like kids out of happiness haha!

When.....

*my phone suddenly rang*

"Hello?"

"Jungkook and I will be home in 30 minutes"

"Alright! Bye" my heart dropped as I started to panic.

Good thing I already called his friends to come over. wew.

"Oppaaaa!! What if he's mad at me? What if he will just walk away? What if he'll just pass through me without even saying thank you or whatsoever?!" I asked as I started to tear up a bit.

"Pabo! You worked so heart my princess. Every guy will surely like what you did. Calm down okay? I got you." my brother calmed me down.

I believed in my oppa's words although my heart started beating abnormally. Sighs.

Meanwhile.. *dingdong*

"AHHH-" oppa covered my mouth before I could shout louder.

My heart started beating faster and faster as I heard the door opening. I feel like I'm going to break into pieces if someone touches me.

"Where is jungkookie?!" his friends said in chorus.

I sighed as a sign of relief. I thought it's already him.. I thought I am screwed. *sobs*

"he's not here yet! But okay, go to your places now. hold the party poppers and i'll close the lights. And you, light the candle now, my princess. Im sure he's near." Taehyung oppa commanded us as he walked near the light switches.

Everyone did as my brother said. I feel my cheeks heating up. I can hear my heart beat faster than earlier. Oh my good Lord please help me.

After about a minute.. we heard the car engine and the door open. Taehyung oppa softly whispered "1... 2... 3... ready!"

He switched the lights on as Jungkook entered while the gang popped the party poppers.

Meanwhile.. I am inside his room sweating...

I can hear them laughing and teasing Jungkook while walking near the room..

I stepped back right after the door knob made such noise..

1...2...3 you can do it Minah! I told myself to gain some confidence..

The door was finally opened by Jungkook himself.

"Ha-hhh-hhaap-pp-yy bb-i-rr-thd-aay, Jungkook! I missed you. Saranghae!!" I shouted even though my voice was shaking.

I saw how he looked at me. I think I am going to melt any moment now. His facial expression was so confusing.

Did he like it? or did he not because I think I pissed him off? Huhu.

Awkward silence filled the room.

"Yah kookie!! make a wish blow the candle!!" Park Jimin broke the silence.

Thank God he did that.

"Ne." Jungkook replied as he blew the candle.

Everyone started to sing him a happy birthday then there's me.. staring at him when he's not even looking at me.

Oh my God he didn't even dare to look at the pictures?! How dare he?!

I started to hold back my tears as I decided to walk out the room. He won't notice anyway. I mean they are too busy talking so okay Im going.

Jungkook's POV

As we arrived home, I didn't notice that there is a surprise that awaits me inside. I didn't even notice that the lights were off. Maybe because I was still thinking of Minah and........... Xiumin. sighs.

Then I entered. The lights were on all of a sudden. Party poppers started popping while everyone came out greeting me a happy birthday.

I didn't see Minah anywhere. I tried looking for her because she might just be hiding somewhere else.

Taehyung Hyung started dragging me near the room. I still haven't gotten my senses back when I saw Minah holding a cake with a lighted candle.

I saw how she looked at me. I want to hug her because I missed her. I didn't even hear the words she said but there is one word that made me get my senses back.

"Saranghae"

Since we're best friends, I think she knows that I am not good at expressing myself. That is why I was just staring at her as if I could melt her.

I blew the candle right after Jimin Hyung asked me to blow it.

The rest of the boys talked to me. They were shouting as if I am deaf. It hurts my ears to be really honest.

Using my peripheral vision, I saw Minah walk away. Maybe she thought that I didn't see her or.. that I didn't like her surprise at all.

I felt the urge to follow her but the hyungs were surrounding me. I can't move.

"Excuse me please!" I shouted at them.

I ran after Minah. And when I found her, I back hugged her.

"Thank you. I missed you." I whispered to her ears.

She faced me crying.

I wiped her tears using my hands.
"Shh. Thank you for everything. Let's not fight again. Ne?" I tried to stop her from crying.

"I thought you didn't like my surprise" she shyly replied trying to avoid my eyes.

"Look at me" I told her as I raised her chin to face me.
"I will always like everything about you. Even if you just give me a candy for my birthday, it will do." I smiled and hugged her once more.

I didn't know what I told her anymore. Everything was so fast.

"Let's go back?" I asked her while I tried to escort her.
