Toph vs Terra

Requested by PhoenixMason

Avatar vs DC comics, two girls who can manipulate the Earth goes out in an Earth Rumbling match of the century

<Cue: Invader Theme>

Toomi: Earth, the very element that acts as the very basis to all life on the planet.

Megumi: And these two control the very Earth around them.

Toomi: Like Toph, the Blind Bandit,

Megumi: And Terra, the half child of the Markovian royal bloodline. She's Sachi-san, Toomi-san and I'm Megumi-san

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win a Death battle

Toph Earthbends into What if Battles

<Cue: Do It Like A Dude by Jessie J>

Toomi: Born in the rich and royal family of the Beifongs, many would think Toph would have all she wanted in the world.

Megumi: But little do they know that Toph is leading anything but a happy life.

Sachi: Being born blind makes the Beifongs think their daughter is weak and helpless, which resulted in them not only keeping their daughter a secret to the world, but also keeping her under probation and curfew for twenty four seven.

Megumi: Damn that's harsh. And like many other kids who hates the way their parents raise them, Toph ran away, hiding in a cave until she met someone just like her, or rather, some Badger Mole.

Toomi: You see, like Toph, Badger Moles are  blind as well, leading them to see by sensing the seismic waves deep within the Earth. The badgermoles were also the first to master Earthbending and were the original instructors from which humans first learned the art.

Sachi: So Toph eventually began learning how to "see" by sensing the vibration in the ground which in turn allowed her to learn how to Earthbend.

Toomi: Sneaking out of the house every night, Toph took on the name "Blind Bandit" and became an undefeatable champion in Earth Rumble Six for many years

Megumi: Until a certain Airbending boy came in and took the title away from her.

<Shows footages of Aang eliminating Toph from the tournament.>

Toomi: After the little encounter and a little rescue mission, Toph ran away from her overprotective family in hopes of joining the team although things went off in a bad start.

Megumi: But regardless, Toph was an invaluable asset to the team, and she even had a wanted poster of herself with a sickass name, "The Runaway"

Sachi: Needless to say, Toph then helped Aang in his battle against the Fire Lord and in turn, saved the world from the tyranny of the Fire Nation.

Megumi: But if you think her adventure ends there, you're dead wrong.

Toomi: Indeed, after the great war, Toph eventually started a Metalbending school of her own and she became chief of the Metal Bending Police Force, helping Sokka and Aang take down Yakone and even had two daughters of her own.

Sachi: Many years after Aang died, the next Avatar Korra was suffering PTSD from her recent battle with Zaheer, which of course led her to getting stranded in the Swamp, which turns out to be the nesting place of a really really old Toph

Korra: Toph?

Toph: Hm hm hm! Nice to see you again Twinkle Toes.

Megumi: Damn, Toph just became Master Yoda here. After training the Avatar once again. Toph then heard of Kuvira capturing her family, prompting her to go on a rescue mission with her daughter and her granddaughter in which she succeeded before retreating back to retire as a hermit in the Swamps.

Toomi: Being an Earthbender, Toph has the ability to compress Earth, capable of growing rock walls, shifting boulders larger than her, erect stone platforms and even shape piles of Earth.

Sachi: But bending Earth isn't just what Toph is capable of, throughout the series, Toph has shown the ability to Mudbend and Sandbend but her greatest feat is learning how to Metalbend.

Toomi: You see, Metal itself is made of Earth as well with all it's Earthly molecules binded together. So using her Earthbending, Toph simply shifts the Atoms within it which of course enables her to give birth to something that was thought to be impossible, Metalbending.

<Toph thrusts out her hands, bending the metal prison she was in>

Toph: Whoo! Toph, you rule!

Megumi: Ooh. Did I mention that Toph is also capable of bending Meteorite as well? But there's just one question, if Toph can fight this well, are you really sure she's blind?

Toomi: Toph actually is blind. But she can sense through the seismic waves beneath the ground, using that to help her 'see'.

Toph: I was able to learn Earthbending, not just as a Martial Art, but as an extension of my senses.

Great Con Artist

Sachi: And Toph is also an expert con artist, capable of cheating and outscamming conmen with her abilities.

Toomi: Despite being just a small and blind girl, Toph's Earthbending is so great to the extend that she has fought King Bumi to a stalemate.

Megumi: And loony toons here took back his entire Kingdom all by himself during the Solar Eclipse.

Toomi: Toph has also defeated seven Earthbenders singlehandedly and even kept her title as a reigning champion of Earth Rumble Six, which is pretty impressive considering how most of the fighters are large heavyweights who outclasses her in size, stature and built.

Sachi: Toph is also the first person to invent Metalbending in which she used that as a mean to destroy several Fire Nation Blimps during Sozin's Comet.

Megumi: And also invent the Metalbending Police Force!

Feats

Reigning champ of Earth Rumble

Invented Metalbending

Dueled Bumi to a draw

Held up Wan Shi Tong's library

Trained the Avatar in Earthbending

Destroyed several Fire Nation Blimps

Created the Metalbending Police Force

Arrested Yakone alongside Aang

Reunited with her family

Trained the Avatar twice

Defeated Kuvira's squadron easily

Rescued Suzin and her family from Kuvira

Defeated seven Earthbenders despite them being larger, stronger and far more experienced than she is

Got plenty of money outscamming conmen with her bending

Sandbended an entire sculpture of Ba Sing Se

Sachi: Toph has also once held back the entire building of Wang Shi Tong's library, which is really impressive considering her size compare to the library's actual height and width.

Megumi: I mean, it has to be impressive enough for her to train two Avatars in her life. Damn. That is one strong girl.

Toomi: Unfortunately, Toph's greatest ability is also her greatest weakness. Since Toph heavily relies on her feet to see, which means if she is not standing on land, either airborne of underwater or her foot is injured, Toph is literally blind.

Sachi: And Toph is not able to see flying projectiles or anything that is airborne, limiting her senses to a great extend.

Megumi: And plus, she can't read or even look at pictures.

Katara: Well then, what's this?!

Toph: I don't know! I mean seriously, what's with you people?! I'm blind!

Megumi: Hah! I wonder if Daredevil ever have this kind of problem?

Weakness

Is blind. Her Seismic Sense normally compensates this but Toph's senses are still limited.

Is completely blind if she is not connected to Earth; like if she is airborne or in deep water.

Cannot detect airborne objects, animals or people (unless the airborne object is Earth or the person is standing on the aforementioned airborne Earth).

Cannot read or see drawings.

Earth-Bending requires Earth; meaning Toph cannot Bend if she is airborne, in deep water, etc...

Most of her Earth Bending and Seismic Sense require her feet. If her feet are injured or cannot be used; she cannot fight properly.

Metal Bending doesn't work on highly purified metals like Platinum.

No defenses against Blood-Benders.

Blood-Benders and Energy-Benders can disable her Earth-Bending permanently if they contact her.

Without her Bending powers; Toph is just an ordinary girl.

No superhuman strength, durability or running-speed; although her Earth-Bending compensates for this.

Rebellious, cocky, childish and rude.

Initially did not know how to properly Sand or Metal Bend; however she has quickly mastered these techniques.

A bad motherly figure

Toomi: It's also worth to note that Toph's Metalbending is also limited as Metalbending does not work on highly purified metal like Platinum

Sachi: And Toph lacks completely in strength, durability and speed although her Earthbending powers makes up for it.

Megumi: And she's a pretty bad motherly figure. But even with all these flaws, Toph will go around to prove that nobody calls her the Blind Bandit for nothing.

Toph: You give Metalbenders a bad name!

Terra sets the Earth for What if Battle

<Cue: Headcase by Kailee Morgue feat Hayley Kiyoko>

Toomi: Born from the royal family of Markovia, Tara Markov was sent to America at a young age due to being a scandal as an illegitimate daughter to the patriarch of the country's ruling family.

Megumi: But of course in America, nothing is ever sunshine and rainbows. Especially with a guy named Deathstroke under your wing.

Sachi: After being experimented on, Tara gained deep rooted psychological issues as she was taken under the wing of Deathstroke who taught her to better control her powers before sending her to Jump City to serve as his spy within the Teen Titans.

<Shows footages of the Teen Titans GO! intro>

Megumi: No! Not that Teen Titans.

<Shows footages of the original Teen Titans intro>

Megumi: Ah yes! That's more like it!

Toomi: After working alongside the Teen Titans, eventually, Tara gave Deathstroke all the information he needed to kidnap the Titans.

Sachi: Eventually, the captured Titans were held in a stronghold of Deathstroke's contractors, the H.I.V.E. Although Nightwing and Deathstroke's son, Jericho, raided the complex to rescue them, there were eventually captured as well.

Toomi:  When presented to Deathstroke and the organization in general, Jericho possessed his father and freed the Titans. who then attacked H.I.V.E. Not knowing of Jericho's powers, Terra believed Deathstroke to have turned against her, and thus she went berserk and fatally pulled the whole H.I.V.E. complex down upon herself.

Megumi: Truth to be told, her death did bring about the anger of her brother Geo-Force who he and Black Lightning are contemplating about murdering him. I mean why not? Deathstroke has done a lot of bad things.

Sachi: Things didn't just end there, during the Blackest Night series, several Black Lantern Rings were sent down onto Earth, resurrecting Terra and all the deceased into zombies.

Megumi: Using the resurrected Omen to disguise her grotesque appearance, she nearly seduces Beast Boy until he learns the truth.

Beats Boy: No! Terra would never

Deathstroke: Tonight, her orders were to strike But I guess she took pity on you. Perhaps she wanted to keep you, as a pet. However, despite this minor error in judgment, she was kind enough to deactivate the security at Titan's Tower. Your friends are being annihilated as we speak.

Beast Boy: Liar!

Terra: Beast Boy! It's the truth.

Sachi: It was being rejected by a heartbroken Beast Boy that a disillusioned Terra gradually ends up treading a dark path with the notion that super-powered people like herself should rule the world.

Megumi: That is until Halo managed to destroy all the Black Lantern Rings, thus severing her connection with it which allowed Geo-Force to destroy her once and for all.

Toomi: However, in 1991 another Terra appeared, almost identical to the first as part of the Team Titans from a possible 2001

Megumi: Yeah as it turns out, she was one of three people ostensibly from that future who were not wiped out in Zero Hour. I mean, her coffin itself is literally empty.

Sachi: Further evidence suggested she is the original Terra, but due to her horror at what she did, Geo-Force decided to spare her this knowledge, thinking she would rather not have a past than have that one.

Toomi: Being created have Geokinesis, Terra has the exceptionally strong elemental ability to create, control and manipulate earthly substances in all its forms from rock to sand.

Sachi: She can hurl and lift boulders, generate earthquakes, mudslides, avalanches, fissures, project spikes of stone from the ground and tunnel through the earth.

Megumi: And unlike her brother who has showed some geokinesis under stress, Terra can fully control the dirt and earth she controls and manipulates.

Toomi: Her geokinetic abilities also allow her to affect molten rock, giving her the ability to control the flow of magma, lava and to thermo-geokinetically control volcanic activity to a degree. Terra can also sense vibrations, even from any living thing moving across rooftops.

Sachi: Terra is also capable of flight, able to lift up rocks high enough to propel her up into the air.

Megumi: She can also use her powers to form a suit of armor from rock around her body, enabling her to easily break through doors of reinforced steel or concrete.

Toomi: After training with Slade in secret, she holds a much stronger control over her powers, and is seemingly able to avoid losing control altogether.

Megumi: Terra is strong enough to lift a rock bridge to crush a giant scorpion, cause massive Earthquakes and even punch right through solid concrete.

Sachi: She is also strong enough to throw down Beast Boy in the form of an Anklyosaurus and send Cyborg flying back. Not to mention, she even easily overpowers Raven's telekinesis and hits her with a rock hard enough to send her spinning around a lightpost.

Feats

Breaks off and lifts a rock bridge to crush a giant scorpion.

Creates a spire of rock to lift herself up.

Throws two massive boulders while flying a third.

Creates a large tendril of rock, punching through several layers of metal.

Casually slices one of Slade's robots in half with a stalagmite.

Causes a cave in.

When she loses control she can cause earthquakes, avalanches, and mudslides.

Losing control, she spins rocks around her fast enough to cause a tornado.

Shakes the ground underneath Robin to throw him off balance.

Creates a staircase of floating rocks.

Matches Raven's telekinesis.

Raven was able to move office buildings.

With help from Raven, pushes the island with Titan's Tower on it up and out of a sinkhole.

Splits the ground underneath a ferris wheel in order to sink it.

Manipulates and hardens mud.

Escapes being crushed by a bus by tunneling under the ground.

Hits the ground and makes a blast underneath Robin and Cyborg that sends both of them up to the roof of a nearby building.

Creates sentient monsters out of the ground.

One sends Cyborg flying back into a wall hard enough to break it.

Another does the same to Beast Boy transformed into an anklyosaurus.

Able to punch straight through the concrete.

Able to manipulate the shape of her rock constructs to make them pointed and lethal.

Easily overpowers Raven's telekinesis and hits her with a rock hard enough to send her spinning around a lightpost.

Creates building sized spires of rock.

Hits Beast Boy with a straight up energy blast.

Accidentally triggers a volcano then seals it back up, though sacrificing herself in the process.

Takes a hit from Starfire's eye beams that sends her flying back through several rock spires. Afterwards she only pretends to be knocked out.

Takes a punch from Slade that sends her flying back a dozen feet.

Perfects the art of flying with her rocks after training.

Reverses a grapple from Robin and pins him against a fence temporarily.

Became a Black Lantern

Sachi: Not only that but Terra has even once became a Black Lantern, one of the most powerful Lanterns in the DC Universe.

Megumi: Damn. Never knew that girl is so strong.

Toomi: However, Terra isn't without flaw. While Terra has helped the Titans in many occasions, she has constantly betrayed the team by passing information of them to Deathstroke, leading her loyalty to be questionable.

Megumi: And considering how she was sent away because she is an illegitimate child, it's no doubt that Terra grew up habouring deep hatred for her father.

Sachi: Not only that but while she is indeed skilled and powerful, Terra is still young and inexperienced, having a much more harder time controlling her powers as she grows more and more powerful each time, making it more difficult for her to master her new powers.

Weakness

Trust and daddy issues.

Tends to bare deep-seeded grudges with a murderous revenge obsession.

Terra initially lacked control of her newly increased abilities and strength, being unable to regulate how much earth she moved, and inadvertently triggering seismic tremors or even minor volcanoes. The more she used her powers over a period of time, the more she struggled to contain them.

Got imprisoned a few times in a dimension that serves Teen Titans' personal garbage dump.

Killed by Black Adam

Destroyed by Geo-Force

Crushed under the sheer weight of falling rubble

Sacrificed herself to save the Titans

Toomi: Not to mention, Terra has problems dealing with heavy hitters, especially her lost against Black Adam.

Sachi: And Terra's betraying has often led her to be imprisoned in a dimension where the Teen Titans used as their own personal garbage dump.

Megumi: But in the end, Terra will go all out to do the right thing in the end. Cause hey, who wouldn't wanna sacrifice yourself for Beast Boy. I know I would.

Terra: I was being studied! Like all the rest wasn't I?! You planned this right from the start!

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Sachi: Don't forget to vote, comment what you think of the fight.

Megumi: Yeah, but right now, it's time for a Death Battle!

Fight

Earth Empire Castle

Inside the chambers of Kuvira's quarters, Kuvira, a tall strong and beautiful woman stood with her hands behind her back, greeting the newcomer entering her room.

Kuvira: Ah. Glad to see you can join us Mr. Wilson.

Behind Kuvira, Deathstroke, a man cladded in orange and black armour steps in, speaking to her.

Deathstroke: Enough games, why do you summoned me here?

Kuvira: Oh nothing much, it's just that my troops are having a little problem near one of my factories in a village.

Deathstroke: What kind of problem?

Kuvira: This old woman, the people call her the Blind Bandit. She has been causing destructions at my factories across many of the Earth border.

Kuvira explains before turning around, facing the mercenary.

Kuvira: All I need from you Mr. Wilson, is to take her down and you can have everything you ever want.

Deathstroke sat back on his chair, casually saying.

Deathstroke: Don't worry, I already sent my greatest spy to deal with that little bandit of yours.

Metal Factory

Outside of a Metal Factory, Toph walks along the forest floor, a scowl forming on her face.

Toph: These Metalbenders, they never learn.

Toph speaks out.

However, right at that moment, Toph sensed a fast moment from behind, causing her to stretch out her arm, catching the projectile in midair.

Grip!

Toph then shouts out.

Toph: Shame on you! Attacking an old blind woman like that!

Toph shifts her head up, sensing a movement from behind.

A short young girl with long golden hair steps out of the trees, saying.

Terra: Well, I can see why this Kuvira own lackeys are having problems with you.

Toph: Whatever it is you're after girl, I don't want to hurt you. Leave.

Terra: Leave?!

Terra cackles out evily, lifting her hands up.

CRUMBLE!!!

Toph narrows her eyes, sensing several chunks of rocks rising from the ground.

The Blind Bandit listens just as Terra screams out.

Terra: Oh I'm gonna leave as soon as I drag your dead corpse back to Slade!

Announcer: Fight!

<Cue: Nikola Tesla vs Thomas Edison instrumental by ERB>

WHOOSH!!!

Terra thrusts her arms out, sending chunks of rocks flying towards Toph.

Toph jumps back, easily swerving her body to dodge the flying projectiles just as the crashes onto the floor.

CRASH!!!

Toph then raises her hand up, sending a large wall erecting out of the ground.

THOOM!!!

Toph then thrusts her arm out, sending the rock tumbling towards Terra.

BAM!!!

Terra thrusts out her fist, shattering the rock wall with a single punch.

CRACK!!!

Terra shifts her hand up, lifting several rocks before sending them flying towards Toph.

Twip! Twip! Twip!

Toph swerves around, easily deflecting the projectiles with her hand before thrusts out her fist, sending the rocks flying towards Terra.

WHOOM!!!

Terra's face contorts into that of agony just as a boulder slam hard into her stomach.

WHAM!!!

Terra: ARGHHHHH!!!

Toph swings her arm out, bringing up a rock wall from the ground before sending it flying with a single kick.

THOOM!!!

Terra leaps up into the air, dodging the projectile before raising her hand up.

RUMBLE!!!

Toph immediately jumps up, narrowingly avoiding the melting rocks.

PSSSHHHHHH!!!

Red hot magma burns through the boulders just as Toph lands feet first onto the roof of a building.

Thud!

Toph spins around, using her hands to pull a slab of metal from the roof before chucking it at Terra.

CLANG!!!

Terra swings her arns out, easily deflecting the projectile before lunging upwards towards Toph.

Toph swerves her body to the side, dodging a blow from Terra before thrusting her arm out, striking into the girl.

WHAM!!!

Angered, Terra thrusts her arm out, striking into Toph.

WHAM!!!

CLANG!!! CLANG!!!

Toph swerves her hand around, sending metallic projectiles flying towards Terra.

Terra ducks down, dodging the projectiles before thrusting her arm out.

Clak! Clak!

Several rocks flies across the air, sticking themselve onto Terra's skin, forming a makeshift armour around her body.

Toph swings her hands up, allowing the metal plating to encase her entire body, forming an armour around her.

Thud! Thud!

Terra lunges forward, throwing several punches, only for Toph to throw a punch, instantly cracking the armour around Terra.

BAM!!!

Terra thrusts out a leg, striking right into Toph.

BAM!!!

Toph grits her teeth just as she crashes backfirst through the roof, falling into the factory.

CRASH!!!

Not willing to give her opponent a chance to escape. Terra jumps down in pursuit of her opponent.

Iron Factory

Inside the scorching hot chamber of the molten iron, Terra hovers over the factory's interior on a floating piece of rock, surveying the ground for any signs of Toph.

Terra: Come out come out wherever you are!

Terra calls out, waving her hand out just as molten hot magma sprays across the metal grating of the floor.

SPLASH!!!

However, right at that moment, something struck onto the back of Terra's head.

Pak!

Terra: Ow!

Terra rubs the back of her head, looking back, only to find Toph standing below her.

Toph: Such brash behaviour, you really remind me of Twinkle Toes.

Terra: I don't know who that is but you sure talk too much for an old woman.

Toph: Please. You should have listen to the way Bumi speaks.

Terra lunges outwards, sending a spray of lava right towards Toph.

SPLASH!!!

CLANK!!!

Toph rears her arms back, pulling out a metallic wall in order to shield herself from the lava.

PSSSHHHHHH!!!

Terra jumps backwards, pulling her arms out just as several rocks raises from the bottom of the ground.

RUMBLE!!!

Toph narrows her eyes, sensing the entire building rumbling around her.

Terra: Take this!

WHOOSH!!!

Toph swings her hand back, forming a metallic armour around her body just as the rocks closes in onto her.

CLANK!!!

Clak! Clak! Clak!

The rocky projectiles bounces off Toph's armour just as the Blind Bandit closes in onto her, grabbing one of the boulders before throwing it across, striking Terra square in the eye.

Pak!

Terra: Ow!

Toph then spins her arms around, pulling a metal grating around Terra's body.

CLANK!!!

Terra: ARGHHHHH!!!

Terra lets out an agonizing scream of pain just as Toph thrusts out her hand, sending Terra flying downwards.

Just as Terra falls back, Toph raises up her hand, calling out.

Toph: Hey honey! Want some rocky road down at rock bottom?

CLAK!!!

Several sharp rocks erects from the ground, slamming down hard on top of Terra's body.

SHOK!!!

Terra: AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

Terra lets out a loud deafening scream just as the razor sharp end of the rocks pierces through her body.

Toph simply turns around and she swipes her hands up, immediately causing the entire building to shake.

RUMBLE!!!

Just as the ceilings began caving in, Toph casually steps outside, removing the metallic armour around her body just as the metallic platings fall down into the very pit where Terra is in.

CRUMBLE!!!

Outside

Standing right outside of the Iron Factory, Toph stretches her back, groaning out in agony.

Toph: Oh! My back! Ain't as active as I used to be in the old days.

KO!

<Cue: New Earth by Bruce Falconer>

Megumi: Damn, that was a little bit too far there wasn't it?

Toomi: Regardless to say, both Toph and Terra were surprisingly evenly matched in Earthbending with their abilities and strength nowhere too far apart from each other.

Sachi: But what gave Toph the advantage is her years of experience and better control over Earth.

Toomi: While Terra can sense seismic waves across the floor, Toph can literally do the same, and she can even sense the Earth even above ground which gave her a more all rounder sight than Terra's eyes could do.

Megumi: And while Terra can create Earthquakes and cause volcanic eruptions, Toph's Earthbending, Metalbending and even Earthquake creation helps her counter everything Terra throws at her. I mean considering how many elemental opponents Toph has faced, nothing Terra has ever thrown at her is even unique.

Sachi: And while Terra is strong enough to throw down dinosaur size opponents like Beast Boy, Toph has once held the entire Wang Shi Tong Library, which is thousand times larger than an Anklyosaurus.

Toomi: And Toph has better control over her Earthly powers, I mean Terra may have an advantage of raw power but she always has a problem controlling it, often times relying on Deathstroke to make a suit to help her maintain control over her powers whereas Toph is far more experienced, taking down guys that has many more years experience than she has.

Megumi: Looks like Terra here has reached Rock Bottom on Toph's Rocky Road!

Sachi: The winner is Toph

Toph: Toph. You rule!

Toomi: Hey guys, thank you so much for checking out our battle in What if Battles 2.

Sachi: If you want more content like this, don't forget to add this in your library and comment if you have any idea for a fight.

Megumi: Until then, next time on What if Battles....
