Toomi: Dragons, some of the most powerful fire breathing mythical creature to be featured in the medieval age. And like Game of Thrones has shown, the best advantage against your enemies is to have the power of a dragon.

Megumi: And what goes well with dragons? Hordes and hordes of hot sexy women of course!

Toomi: Like Tatsumi, the wielder of Incursio,

Megumi: And Issei Hyoudou, the wielder of the Boosted Gear, she's Sachi, Toomi and I'm Megumi.

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle

Toomi: Growing up in a small and poor village, Tatsumi decided to become a soldier for the Empire and earn some money.

Megumi: So after separating with his two friends, having his money cheated by a hot blonde chick and rejected by the military, he was then taken in by an upper class girl named Aria

Sachi: But everything changed on the night when a group of mercenaries known as Night Raid invaded the household, and that was where Tatsumi found out that Aria and her family have been torturing people, including his friends.

Megumi: So as the typical do gooder, you would think Tatsumi would just forgive and forget? Teach those guys that sometimes a little mercy wouldn't hurt right? Well he did told them to spare her... just to kill that bitch himself.

Megumi: Ah, a young man who actually acts like a man and kills people who don't deserve mercy, I'm sure he would fit in nicely.

Toomi: And he did. After learning about the truth of the empire, Tatsumi was recruited into joining Night Raid, aiding them in battle in hopes of overthrowing the child emperor and Minister Honest, the corrupt officials running the empire.

Sachi: Before becoming a Night Raid member himself, Tatsumi was taught in the arts of sword fighting, martial arts, weapons forging and cooking in order for him to get a job in the empire.

Megumi: And he's not a novice with a sword, even before his crazy power ups, he was able hold his own against Akame, a school girl with a sword that kills with one hit. And did I mentioned that he even killed a Dragon with ease?

Toomi: And speaking of Dragons, this is where things gets better. After Bulat, the original host was killed, Tatsumi gained his very own Imperial Arm by using Incursio, an armor-type Imperial Arm created long ago by the first emperor of the Empire. It was crafted from the living body of the Tyrant, a dragon of the north that can adapt its body against any threat to itself.

Tatsumi: I'll learn to use Incursio.

Sachi: As a result, known as the Demon Dragon Armor and changing its appearance with each user, Incuriso is near indestructible with the ability to adapt to almost any situation and evolve accordingly. It greatly enhances the users strength, speed, and agility, along with the halberd Neuntote that can easily cleave through giant Danger Beasts

Megumi: And plus it can turn invisible. Now considering how Tatsumi is often surrounded by cute girls, why doesn't he just use that armor to peak at them in the showers?

Toomi: Incuriso was previously owned by Master Gensei and then Bulat, until he passed it to Tatsumi, whom he trained as an ideal successor to unleash the armor's full potential.

Sachi: That reasoning eventually came to pass when Tatsumi pushed the armor to its limits during his fight with Esdeath when was being rescued from his execution by Night Raid.

Megumi: But even without Incursio, Tatsumi is a pretty powerful warrior, being able to hold his own against Akame in a sword fight and took down Master Gensei's men, the same kind who matched against Leone.

Toomi: He has also held his own against Imperial Arm users prior to getting Incursio and without it, he even won a tournament, which ended up winning the heart of Esdeath, the ice cold general of the Jeagers.

Tatsumi: Esdeath, you like me don't you?

<Esdeath simply replied with a kiss>

Megumi: Damn lucky guy he is. When you are so charming that even a seemingly cold hearted killer can have the hots for you.

Toomi: But with Incursio, Tatsumi's powers increases a lot, making him capable of dodging Seryu's missiles while carrying mine, now considering that a normal missile can travel up to Mach-2 and Mach-3, which is up to 2,300 mph. Tatsumi must be moving several times faster than that in order to dodge them

Megumi: And speaking of speed, Tatsumi dodged lightning and resisted Esdeath's Marahadma.

Sachi: And just to note, when Esdeath uses Marahadma, she literally freezes time in it's place for a short period of time.

Toomi: However, even with Incursio, Tatsumi is not immune to weaknesses as he tends to rush into battle without much strategy, usually solving every conflict with battle

Sachi: And plus he often times puts himself at risk in order to protect the innocent which does affect his way of battle.

Was very naive and arrogant (though he learns to overcomes this and becoming wiser and more serious throughout the manga)

Toomi: And though he is not as experienced in using Incursio as Bulat is, he was able to use the armor to it's fullest potential, for a price. As often times, Tatsumi forces Incursio to evolve, allowing the armor to consume him in every use which in turns transforms Tatsumi into a dragon-like creature called a Tyrant

Sachi: Or if you prefer the anime, he died after sacrificing his life to destroy Shikoutazer

Megumi: But whether he would be man or beast, Tatsumi will do everything he can to take down the evil of the Empire and bring hope back to his homeland.

Toomi: Thousands of years ago, all manner of creatures joined one of three factions: Angels, Fallen Angels and Devils. Those that didn't choose were ultimately left on the sidelines.

Megumi: But during this worldwide war, two dragons clashed against each other. Not because they were on opposite sides, but because of how they provoked each other.

Sachi: The Heavenly Dragons had interrupted the Great War and even attacked anyone who tried to intervene in the fight. However, they were eventually defeated by the combined might of the three factions and sealed into Sacred Gears, objects of immense power created by God.

Megumi: They appeared on humans and left them once they had died, transferring themselves to a new host in the process.

Toomi: It was the destiny of the pair to clash with new hosts, but it didn't achieve anything, just like when they first clashed.

Megumi: The owner of Divine Dividing is Vali Lucifer, a descendant of the original Great Satan Lucifer. His Sacred Gear contains the Heavenly Dragon Albion.

Toomi: And the owner of the Boosted Gear and, in turn, the Heavenly Dragon Ddraig was a perverted young man by the name of...Issei Hyoudou.

Issei: I happen to be a man.

Megumi: Seriously? Him? I thought he would be cooler.

Sachi: Issei grew up as a reasonably ordinary kid, excluding the fact he met a man that essentially made him perverted.

Toomi: This lead him and his two friends Matsuda and Motohama being easily identified as the Perverted Trio when they joined the former girls only school, Kuoh Academy.

Megumi: But his normal days changed when he met a girl by the name of Yuuma and went on a date with her.

Toomi: Near the end of the date, Yuuma turned out to be the Fallen Angel Raynare that was assigned to kill Issei. On the brink of death, a Devil called Rias Gremory struck a deal with him: by saving his life and reincarnating him as a Devil, Issei would become part of her peerage.

Sachi: It was only then that he discovered that he had the Boosted Gear, which is the one and only reason why Raynare killed him in the first place.

Toomi: The Boosted Gear takes the form of a gauntlet on Issei's left arm, and is one of the most powerful Sacred Gears in existence, categorized as one of the thirteen Longinus Gears, capable of killing a god.

Megumi: Since it is host to the Heavenly Dragon Ddraig he is able to talk to Issei, giving him support whenever necessary.

Sachi: Its natural ability is to double the users power every ten seconds indefinitely, though once he is hit by a significantly powerful enemy attack, the counter resets. He can also transfer multiplied power to allies. It can also amplifying the strength of attacks that requires demonic energy.

Toomi: He also has a familiar known as Ryuuteimaru, which is designed to give him mobility and flight while he's not in Balance Breaker, since he can't fly with his Devil wing

Sachi: Incidentally, he got the techniques Dragon Shot and Flame Blaze, by training with former Dragon King, Tannin. As a result, he gained a high resistance to fire based attacks. Only strong flames such as those from the Phoenix Clan and extremely powerful dragons are able to do damage.

Megumi: And here comes my unfavourite part. Those rather pervertic abilities.

Toomi: It's sad, yet true. Due to his lecherous nature, Issei has created techniques that make him a great counter against females, such as his Dress Break and Bilingual.

Issei: Dress Break!

Sachi: Uh hum! Dress Break destroys the tagged foe's clothes and Bilingual is a form of mind reading that target's the females breasts.

Megumi: But that won't matter since those abilities works against female opponents so unless Tatsumi is getting a gender change or something like that, yeah, that ability won't be used anytime soon.

Toomi: With his ability, Issei is surprisingly strong, by beating Sairaorg, the strongest Young Devil in a fist fight while Sairaorg was using Regulus Nemea's Balance Breaker

Megumi: And he easily overpowered Shalba Beelzebub, who had his strength increased by Ophis' snake and is the descendant of the original Beelzebub, man Satan's not gonna be happy to hear about that.

Sachi: He's battled against powerful Devils and Dragons and even against his counterpart Vali Lucifer, the wielder of the Longinus Divine Dividing, who's capable of flying at light-speeds.

Toomi: Issei's also gained a large boost in power, to the point where he was able to complete obliterate a mountain. This feat would have required 5 gigatons of TNT. Also considering this calculation took into account further power boosting with Boosted Gear, then this is a pretty good place to put Issei's own natural power sans increases.

Megumi: And he's broken free from Gasper's Time Stopping ability. Plus the fact he even defeated Vidar, the new leader of the Norse pantheon, who is more powerful than Thor, you know, the Thunder God that defeated the World Serpent.

Toomi: And befitting a pervert, Issei can get distracted by attractive women and will work towards using his more perverted techniques on them rather than outright defeating them.

Sachi: And the fact that he is not a demon means that he is not able to manipulate demonic energy.

Megumi: But hey, if you want to attract some anime fans, sometimes you need a protagonist who can get a power up and also provide some good fan service in the mean time.

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Tatsumi rushes forward, swinging his sword across only for Issei to move back, blocking every swing with his Boosted Gear.

CLANG!!! CLANG!!! CLANG!!!

Issei: Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost!

Issei then throws an uppercut, sending Tatsumi flying with a single strike.

WHAM!!!

As Tatsumi lands back, Issei points his Boosted Gear at Issei, launching a ball of fire right at him.

FWOOSH!!!

Tatsumi then screams out.

Tatsumi: Incursio!

SHING!!!

At that moment, Tatsumi's entire body engulfs itself into a metallic armor, instantly quelling the fire.

FWOOM!!!

Issei: What?!

Now donning Incursio, Tatsumi questions out.

Tatsumi: What's wrong? Surprised? Well, don't be.

WHOOSH!!!

Tatsumi rushes forward, flying up just as Issei thrusts his mouth out, spewing fire at him.

FWOOM!!!

Tatsumi swings his sword downwards, cutting into Issei.

SLASH!!!

Issei: ARGHHHHH!!!

Angered by the attack, Issei then screams out.

Issei: Boosted Gear!

FWOOSH!!!

At that moment, Issei's entire body is now cladded in red metallic armor, his head hidden beneath a reptilian faceplate.

Issei listens as Ddraig's voice speaks to him.

Ddraig: Issei! Let's go!

Issei: Right! Mode Change, Welsh Sonic Boost Knight!

FWOOM!!!

Losing parts of his armor, Issei and Tatsumi rushes forward, their two swords clashing into each other as they take off into the air.

CLANK!!! CLANK!!! CLANK!!!

As Tatsumi brought his staff out, Issei jumps up, spinning around the air before swinging his leg across, striking Tatsumi across the cheek.

BAM!!!

Right as Tatsumi is sent flying, Issei points his hands out, launching several spheres of fire right at him.

FWOOM!!! FWOOM!!! FWOOM!!!

Tatsumi spins his staff across, deflecting the balls of flames.

Issei: Mode Change, Welsh Sonic Boost Bishop!

CLANG!!!

This time, Issei points his Dragon Blaster at Tatsumi, screaming out.

Issei: Dragon Boost!

THOOM!!!

The powerful blast of magic struck right into Tatsumi, causing him to go off in a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

As the dust clears, Tatsumi pushes himself up, feeling pieces of his armor falling out of his body.

Issei smirks beneath his helmet, saying.

Issei: Is that the best you can do?

Tatsumi: Hardly. AAAHHHHHH!!!

Tatsumi lets out a loud scream as Incursio began sprouting out wings from his back. This time, his entire face is shrouded beneath his helmet with a pair of reptilian looking eyes glaring back at Issei.

Issei narrows his eyes, watching as Tatsumi swoops forward, his blade shoving right into Issei.

SHOK!!!

Issei: ARRRGHHHH!!!

Although wounded, Issei looks up and he said.

Issei: Not yet.

WHAM!!!

Issei throws a single punch, sending Tatsumi flying up before throwing swinging his blade across his body.

SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!!

As Tatsumi is sent flying up, Issei attacks by screaming out.

Issei: Welsh Dragon Flare.

THOOM!!!

A powerful blast struck into Tatsumi, sending even more pieces of metal flying across the air.

SHOOM!!!

Now evolving into his Juggernaut Drive, Issei lunges up, his bladed wings slashes across Tatsumi's body.

SLASH!!!

Tatsumi: Ngn!

Not willing to give up, Tatsumi swoops down, slashing wildly at Issei.

SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!!

As the last blow sends Issei back, Ddraig remarks out to Issei.

Ddraig: Ha! That's the best he can do? Let's show him what true strength is!

Issei, now empowered with Ddraig's strength swoops forward, slashing across Tatsumi's body, this time, his attacks having even more visible effects.

SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!!

Issei: Dragon Blaster!

THOOM!!!

Issei launches a powerful blast of energy right onto Tatsumi, sending the Night Raid member crashing into the ground.

CRASH!!!

Tatsumi: ARGHHHHH!!! ARGHHHH!!!

Tatsumi groans out in agony, pushing himself up as he listens to Issei landing in front of him.

Issei: Had enough? You should give up before something bad happens to you.

<Cue: The Last Dragon by Immediate Music>

Tatsumi: No...it's not over yet! Incursio!

THOOM!!!

Issei: What?!

Issei stares at Tatsumi, his eyes widens in horror at Tatsumi's appearance.

This time, Tatsumi stood with Incursio, now golden and winged in appearance.

Tatsumi has reached Final Evolution.

Now empowered, Tatsumi lunges forward at blinding speed, striking Issei hard in the face.

BAM!!!

Issei: ARRRGHHHH!!!

Issei screams out, feeling pieces of armor falling off as Tatsumi flies after him, striking onto him repeatly.

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Tatsumi: This ends now!

Tatsumi rears up his fist, preparing to finish the battle once and for all.

However, right at that moment...

Issei's body instantly changes, this time donning a much larger armor with green spheres around his body.

Issei in now in the Pseudo Diabolos Dragon God form!

Issei: Yes, this ends here.

Issei swings his fist out, sending Tatsumi flying with a single punch.

WHAM!!!

Tatsumi then crashes onto the ground, causing the rock hard ground to go off in a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

As Tatsumi struggles to rise, Issei points his hand down, unleashing a powerful burst of flames down onto the injured Teigu user.

FWOOOM!!!

Tatsumi's entire body slowly burns out before going off in a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

As the smoke clears, Issei lands onto the ground, reverting back into his human form and he wipes the sweat off his brows, saying.

Issei: Whew! I could use a drink.

KO!

<Cue: Forever In My Dreams by Really Slow Motion>

Megumi: Man, that fight was hot! Literally!

Toomi: Tatsumi's skills with martial arts certainly gave him the edge over Issei but Issei held the upper hand over strength, speed and power.

Sachi: Tatsumi may have destroyed Shikoutazer which is the size of a skyscrapper but that is nothing compared to Issei destroying Vidar, who is stronger than Thor, the very Norse God who fought Jörmungandr, a serpent so large it literally wrapped itself around Midgard or Earth.

Megumi: And the difference between them is their speed, Issei was able to keep up with Vali, who did mentioned to be capable of moving faster than light. Especially since he scales to Crocell, who could react to light while Tatsumi's greatest speed was dodging lightning.

Toomi: Just to note, lightning moves at about 300,000,000 meters per second while light itself moves at about 299,792 kilometers per second which kind of puts them at almost equal level of speed. But the biggest game changer is their opponents.

Sachi: Esdeath's Marahadma enables her to stop time, only for a short while while characters like Gasper can stop time at indefinite amounts of time as long as they are within his view. But the difference between Esdeath and Gasper is that Esdeath's time stopping ability is basically ice freezing which Tatsumi is immune to it while Gasper's is magic, which is a completely different level from Esdeath's.

Toomi: Then there are tactics, Tatsumi is known for rushing head first into most of his battles and have been outsmarted by more experienced fighters whilst Issei has outsmarted tacticians like Cao Cao

Sachi: And not to mention, Issei has shown to be strong enough to fight against Godly beings like Tartarus, Vidar, Crom Cruach and Apophis, beings capable of destroying mountains to planets. While Tatsumi was shown struggling against weaker opponents and the fact that the opponents he defeated have yet to shown feats of those levels.

Toomi: And the fact that Issei has way better control over his armor and can retain his humanity in the process does put his armor superior over Tatsumi, who loses his humanity to the point Incursio ends up consuming him, turning him into a Tyrant.

Megumi: I know what some of you are thinking, what about Tatsumi's Tyrant form? Isn't our rules say to use our characters at the current state they are in so why is Tyrant Tatsumi not in there.

Toomi: A few things to note, firstly Tatsumi completely losted his humanity in that stage which is ruins the point of this matchup as this battle is a comparison between their skills and their armors, and plus according to the Akame Ga Kill wiki, Tyrant is a Dragon-like Danger Beast, something that Boosted Gear is designed for killing.

Megumi: Pitting a dragon against something that kills dragons, yeah, I can see where this goes.

Toomi: Having the complete advantage in strength, armor, speed and power, this what gives Issei the victory of this match.

Megumi: At least this fight ended before it can Drag-on.

Sachi: The winner is Issei Hyoudou

* The connections between Tatsumi and Issei Hyoudou is that both combatants are young male protagonists in their late teens who possesses great power and dons dragonic armor in order to fight against the forces of evil, the two also becoming more dragon-like in appearance as their powers increases

* The two are apparently also known as Harem Kings due to being surrounded and their especially popularity with girls. Being some of the only or sole male members of their own teams and fighting against female opponents a lot.

* The two also had an encounter with an evil psychotic woman, Esdeath for Tatsumi and Raynare for Issei

* Their armors were also originally from dragons, with Incursio being from Tyrant, a dragon-like Danger Beast and Boosted Gear coming from Ddraig, a Heavenly Dragon

* But the only difference between them is that Tatsumi is born poor and an orphan, wanting to become a Captain to earn money for his village while Issei pretty much grew up a normal childhood. Tatsumi though surrounded by beautiful women has a very decent attitude around them while Issei mostly acts rather pervertic around them, even going far enough to create attacks of perverted nature to use them on female opponents.

* This is the first time an Akame Ga Kill character fights a Highschool DxD character

* This is the first time a Highschool DxD character wins a What if Battle

* This is the fourth time an Akame ga Kill character loses a What if Battle, the first being Genos vs Seryu, Night Raid vs Seven Deadly Sins and Lubbock vs Walter

* This fight also featured a returning combatant as Tatsumi previously participated in Night Raid vs Seven Deadly Sins which he previously lost.

* The Cathedral where Tatsumi and Issei faced off is the same cathedral used for the Death Battle She-Ra vs Wonder Woman

* To fit the theme of the battle, many of the music playing are all dragon themed
