Mad Max vs Dominic Toretto

Requested by Hemilock

Mad Max vs Fast and Furious, Rockatansky vs Toretto, Pursuit Special vs Dodge Charger, Tom Hardy vs Vin Diesel, Road Warrior vs Street Racer, when two high adrenaline drivers clashes in a street race of death, it takes high amount of muscle, fuel, drive, power, bloodlust and survival instinct to reach the finish line of life.

<Cue: Invader Theme>

Toomi: Max Rockatansky, aka Mad Max or the Road Warrior,

Megumi: And Dominic Toretto, the elite street racer,

Toomi: In a world of action films, there are many situations that requires large amount of muscles and testosterone to survive.

Megumi: And what's better way to fight than using cars? She's Sachi, Toomi and I'm Megumi.

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Mad Max Rides into What if Battles

<Cue: Mad Max by Lil Durk and Future>

Toomi: In a near-future, a dystopian Australia is facing a breakdown of civil order primarily due to widespread oil shortages and ecocide.

Megumi: The berserk motorbike gang member Crawford "Nightrider" Montazano kills a rookie officer of the poorly-funded Main Force Patrol (MFP)—one of the last remaining law enforcement agencies—and escapes with his girlfriend in the dead officer's Pursuit Special.

Sachi: But his plans was ruined by a man named Max Rockatansky who manages to break his concentration and steer him into a roadblock, resulting in a fiery crash that kills both Nightrider and his girlfriend.

Toomi: In recent history, Max Rockatansky was a mysterious road warrior struggling to survive in a desolate wasteland while at the same time finding a purpose to live in peace after the death of his family had driven him mad, hence the "Mad" sobriquet before his forename.

Megumi: A former patrol officer with unpararelled driving and fierce hand-to-hand combat skill, Max has since then been a wanderer and mercenary, living off of what he can get his hands on as a survivor, even if it means eating canned dog food.

Sachi: But on the way, Max has encountered people as like-minded as he is, and has cooperated with them out of empathy for their plight.

Toomi: Without any doubt, Max's natural skill is driving. He was once considered the "top pursuit man" in the MFP. These abilities later lend themselves to driving off-road, evading gangs and wrecks easily and out-driving or ramming them off the road.

Megumi: He is a very capable hand to hand combatant in good physical condition. By Fury Road, he is a very experienced survivor, able to fight Furiosa and the Five Wives pretty much on his own after being almost drained of blood and dehydrated for several days.

Sachi: Max's reflexes are lightning quick by the second film as he manages to capture a snake before it bites him. In the third film, Aunty Entity chose him to kill Master Blaster due to being the only one surviving her "audition".

Toomi: During the first two films, Max makes use of a V8 Interceptor: a limited 351cu version of a 1973 Ford XB GT Falcon Hardtop, though he drives a different vehicle (an MFP Interceptor) earlier in the first film which is a 4-door version of the XB Ford Falcon.

Megumi: Max is armed with a Smith & Wesson model 28 .357 magnum revolver (as his main sidearm, which he never uses or even draws), which is the standard issue sidearm of the Main Force Patrol. Once Jessie and Sprog are killed he favours a sawed-off double barrel shotgun.

Sachi: A different model of shotgun appears in each of the three movies, however, they all seem to be modified pre-1950 hammerless boxlock-action shotguns. In the second film, he is also armed with a Vietnam War-era Gerber combat knife, which he pulls several times, once on the Gyro Captain. Max is also briefly seen carrying a model 1912 Winchester early in the film.

Toomi: Max is also very resistant to pain, having taken a crossbow to the hand, fought and defeated an opponent while having it in his hand before pulling it out.

Sachi: He also has defeated scores of War Boys in the arena, completed the Thunder Dome and held his ground against Scarborus Scrotus and Rictus Erectus, opponents much stronger than he is.

Megumi: And considering how the movie takes place in deserts, Max has withstood sandstorms.

Feats

Held his ground against physically superior foes such as Scarborus Scrotus and Rictus Erectus

Manuevered his way back to Furiosa around a moving convoy of vehicles.

Defeated Imperator Furiosa despite suffering from blood loss from Nux.

Defeated scores of War Boys in an arena

Completed the Thunderdome

Defeated Immortan Joe, Blaster, the Marauders.

Withstood the intense speeds of a raging sandstorm

Survived being in car crashes... a lot.

Survived wandering the Wasteland after torture.

Took on Furiosa and the Five Wives despite being drained on blood and severely dehydrated

After getting beat down by half a dozen War Boys, still managed to climb his way on top of Scrotus's Land Mover and do battle with him

Shrugged off a Thunderstick exploding right behind him

Can still put up a fight even while his hands are chained together, or when he was chained to a war boy

Uses the environment to his advantage, such as using a car door as a shield, throwing sand in enemies' faces, tossing them over cliffs, and even at one point using a fruit bowl as a melee weapon

Toomi: Max has even took on Furiosa and the Five Wives despite being drained on blood and even survived wandering the Wasteland after torture.

Megumi: Damn, I guess Max is as hardy as his actor Tom Hardy is.

Toomi: However, despite how tough he is, Max isn't invincible. He can still get hurt and for someone who is a loner, there are many instances where he would have died had it not been for outside interference

Sachi: Which is ironic when he refuses to form connections with anyone else.

Megumi: For a guy who uses shotguns, he has bad luck using it. With them firing duds many times in the series.

Weakness

Despite Max's loner nature, there are many instances where he would've died had others not intervened to help him

Obviously has to reload

Given the name, is obviously not mentally stable, as he has audio and visual hallucinations from time to time

His leg brace shows his knee never fully healed

Prefers being a loner most of the time and refuses the concept of having friends

Has a lack of luck half the time he uses his shotgun, with it firing duds many times through the series

As he becomes enraged, he seems to become more reckless, such as when he rammed Scrotus's Land Mover with the Magnum Opus, sacrificing the car in an attempt to kill the warlord

His canteen only holds so much water

Toomi: And like his name suggests, Max is well...mad. Having hallucinations from time to time, it's a miracle how he survives in such a post apocalyptic world while not being mentally stable

Sachi: And he's completely reckless when he gets angry

Megumi: Though the alliances he share does not last forever, as he frequently parts ways with them, out of the sense of need to wander alone to find the very peace he seeks.

Max: My name is Max. My world is fire. And blood.

Dominic Toretto Fights for Family in What if Battles

<Cue: Family by David Guetta feat Bebe Rexha, Ty Dolla $ign and A Googie Wit da Hoodie>

Toomi: Street racing, typically seen as an unsanctioned and illegal form of auto racing that occurs on a public road.

Megumi: But come on Toomi, the thrill, the adrenaline rush, where's all that just driving safely on roads?

Sachi: Well, such concepts along with a Vibe magazine article "Racer X" by Ken Li, ends up birthing one of the longest running movie franchises ever. Fast and Furious.

Toomi: And the main character, Dominic Toretto was born August 29, 1976. His father was a professional stock car driver who earned a reputation on the track and his family owned and ran a market and cafe shop, while his brother Jakob was a future assassin striving to become stronger and better than he is.

Megumi: During the last stock car race of the season of an unknown year, Dominic watched as his father was run off the track by another racer, Kenny Linder, when Linder's car clipped his bumper.

Sachi: Dominic's father was killed instantly when his stock car crashed into the wall at 120 miles per hour and burst into flames. Dominic remembered hearing his father screaming, but the people who witnessed the accident explained that his father had died before his car exploded. Dominic had been the one screaming.

Toomi: A week following the accident, Dominic encountered Linder and when given the opportunity, Dominic attacked Linder, beating him with a wrench.

Megumi: Dominic only intended to hit him once but lost control and kept attacking Linder it until he couldn't lift his arm anymore. The result of Linder injuries rendered him unable to race, Dominic was banned for life from the tracks.

Sachi: Dominic was sent to Lompoc Prison for assaulting Linder, whilst believing that Jakob was responsible for his father's death.

Megumi: In addition to keeping up his family's business, Dominic also engaged in major crimes with his friends, such as stealing major appliances from transporting trucks using their cars. Even participating in illegal street racing for money and to sustain his passion for racing

Toomi: According to the God's Eye, Dominic is 6'1" and weighs 215 pounds, with a muscular build. He has proven himself to wield immense strength and durability in addition to being surprisingly fast and agile, being quite athletic due to his extensive life as an outlaw and his stint in prison

Sachi: Dominic possesses practically low-level superhuman strength. He is able to easily overpower weaker opponents, even quite a few of those that included extensively trained fighters, surpassing the likes of Brian O'Conner, who he could easily toss aside and quickly break out of his grip and slam him to the ground with a simple motion, Owen Shaw, who he was able to knock back with his blows and even throw him to a concrete box with enough force to break it, and Deckard Shaw, who he easily uppercut off his feet and several feet away and could pick up by the collar and slam him with enough force to cause him visible pain.

Toomi: But what makes Dom well known are his driving skills, capable of driving any vehicles, he's skilled at cornering, drifting and making sharp turns and street racing also gives him the courage to drive at full gear to full speed in high speed chases.

Megumi: And he has driven lots and lots of cars over the years.

Toomi: For simplicity sake, we will allow him to use his 1970 Dodge Charger R/T

Sachi: Dominic is a very strong and skilled street fighter, has been able to easily defeat Arturo Braga's men, henchmen in a pawn shop, as well as fight against highly-trained opponents, including Brian O'Conner who was a former cop and federal officer, Luke Hobbs, a former DSS agent, Owen Shaw, a former British SAS special operations soldier, Deckard Shaw, a British Special Forces assassin and Connor Rhodes who is an enforcer

Feats

Undefeated in street racing

He is the most skilled racer out from his crew

Captured Jakob with help from his crew

Survived crashing into a train while drag racing with Brian

Won one street race with a banged up car whilst the engine was about to explode

Outfoxed Cypher by negociating with the Deckards

Jumped through two buildings with just a car

Pulled off some ridiculous heists

Lift the front of a Lykan HyperSport

Overturned a crashed car with one arm.

Lift Connor Rhodes by the throat and off the ground

Drove his Dodge Charger R/T off the cliff and smashed it in order to escape from Mose Jakande and his men

Can English, Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish.

Heisted the 2004 truck hijackings, and the 2009 fuel thefts

Devised a plan to hijack 100 million dollars in Rio from Hernan Reyes, a Brazilian drug lord

Aided Luke Hobbs to capture Owen Shaw

Escaped capture and left the US after hijacking cars

Remain in hiding for five years from the U.S government, travelling across Central and South America, such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama, Ecuador and Brasil

Toomi: Dominic also managed to lift the front of a Lykan HyperSport, which weighed 3,042 pounds (1,386 kilograms/1.52 tons). When he returned to Rio de Janeiro in 2021, he overturned a crashed car with one arm.

Megumi: Damn, I mean look at his guns, those biceps are just made for lifting.

Toomi: However, despite his feats, Dom's weakness is his own recklessness, usually prefers using extreme measures to resolve equally extreme situations.

Sachi: And being a guy who cares about family, he can be manipulated when his family are put in danger.

Megumi: And he has a nasty temper, lashing out at even his own family members if they lie to him.

Weakness

Massive Papa Wolf (look it up on TV Tropes), both with his actual and metaphorical family, so can be manipulated when they are put in danger, like with what international hacker Cypher did.

Ill-tempered at times, even against his own family if they kept secrets from or lied to him.

His skill in racing is rivaled by Brian himself

Did most of the heists with other people, making the feat worthless.

As reckless as street racers usually are, but thankfully hasn't ended up killing himself. Yet.

Uses extreme measures to resolve equally extreme situations.

Toomi: While Dom is skilled in racing, he's not always the best as Brian has matched him, even surpassing him sometimes.

Sachi: And to add on to Toomi's point of recklessness, Dom has gotten himself in so many situations that it's sometimes a miracle how he survives

Megumi: Simple Sachi, he got family. And being the family guy he is, Dom will never turn his back on those he sees as family, even when they do.

Dom: I don't have friends, I got family.

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Sachi: Don't forget to vote, comment what you think of the fight.

Megumi: Yeah, but right now, it's time for a Death Battle!

Fight

Desert

In the hot blazing afternoon, the desert seems to be peaceful. Max lies on the sand, drinking water from his canteen as he looks up at the sun.

Max then listens as a bald headed muscular man says to him.

Dom: You know Max, I've heard a lot about you. About how you survived the Thunderdome, how you went through the desert for days without water and how you bested the Marauders.

Max looks at Dom and he asks.

Max: What's it to you pal?

Dom: This,

Dom then shows Max a wanted poster of him and he says.

Dom: Got a bunch of people willing to pay good money for your shit.

Max: Funny...

Max tosses a piece of paper onto the floor, causing Dom to look at what seems to be a picture of him on a wanted poster.

Max: I also got people wanting to pay good money for your head on a pike.

Both Max and Dom simply sat there before the two gets, moving across each other as Dom proposes

Dom: I win, your ass is mine.

Max: Your call.

Both Dom and Max sprints towards each other before throwing a punch.

Announcer: Fight!

<Cue: Demons by Fez Williamz>

WHAM!!!

Both their fists collides into each other faces as Max throws multiple punches, prompting Dom to block before countering with an elbow to his cheek.

WHAM!!!

As Max recovers, Dom rushes forward, tackling into him.

Max slams his elbows down onto Dom repeatly as the street racer rams Max hard into a rock.

CRACK!!!

As Max groans in pain, he looks up as Dom attempt to throw a punch, prompting him to duck, with Dom punching the rock instead.

CRACK!!!

Dom: ARGHHHH!!!

Dom screams out in agony as he clutches his hand, giving Max an opening to deliver a hard jump kick into his opponent.

POW!!!

Dom drops onto the sand as Max rushes to his car.

Dom looks up, noticing that Max draws out his shotgun before aiming it at him, opening fire.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

Dom rolls across the floor, dodging shots after shots before hiding behind a rock.

Dom then picks up his own shotgun, before firing back at Max.

BANG!!!

The gunshot forces Max to drop onto the floor before firing back.

BANG!!!

The shot misses but it gives Dom the opportunity to rush forward.

Max tosses his shotgun aside before pulling out Gerber combat knife, facing off before swinging it at Dom, forcing the street racer back.

Dom moves back, not wanting to get too close to end up getting cut by his opponent.

As Max thrusts his knife out, Dom catches him by the arm, pulling him close before swinging his elbow down at Max.

Max blocks the attack before swinging his knee up, kneeing Dom in the ribs.

WHAM!!!

Dom grunts in pain as Max slams his elbow down on his head.

BAM!!!

As Dom is down, Max then swings his knife, successfully cutting into Dom.

SLASH!!!

Dom: ARGHHHH!!!

Dom screams out in pain as he felt the blade cut into chest.

Blood pours from his wound, staining his shirt as Dom looks at Max.

As Max thrusts his knife in order to stab Dom, Dom swerves his body to the side, dodging the fatal blow before pulling out his revolver, shooting Max in the side.

BANG!!!

Max: ARGHHHHH!!!

Max screams out in pain as he felt the bullet tear through his side.

Dom points his gun at Max before opening fire.

BANG!!!

At the same time, Max throws the knife at Dom just as the bullet strikes him in the shoulder.

Max: ARGHHHHH!!!

The knife hits Dom in the chest area, causing him to drop his gun in agony.

Dom: ARGHHHHHH!!!

Realising just how dangerous their opponents is, both Max and Dom stares down at each other before the two races off towards their cars.

Dom opens the door of his 1970 Dodge Charger R/T while Max reaches into his V8 Interceptor

VROOM!!!

Both drivers steps onto the accelerator before turning to first gear, driving off.

The two cars first drives into each other, with Max and Dom peering from the window of their cars before opening fire at each other.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

Bullets hits the car's bumper, with one cracking the Dodge Charger's window while the other took out the V8 Interceptor's side mirror.

CRASH!!!

The two cars bumps into each other before Max drives off, prompting Dom to follow hot in pursuit.

VROOM!!!

<Cue: Comin' Home by Cheeseburger>

Both men drives across the sands, pedal onto the metal as they accelerates their vehicles further.

Dust kicks up from their engines as both cars closes in, slamming into each other.

CRASH!!! CRASH!!!

Dom notices a crevice and he drives away from Max, driving up the slope.

Max continues driving, not knowing what his opponent is doing but nonetheless, cautious.

At that moment, Dom drives over the cliff, flying through the air before the car began descending, closing in onto Max' car.

CRASH!!!

The car crashes down onto Max's car, causing Max to fly out of his seat and hit back first onto the roof of his car.

At that moment, both Max and Dom takes out their grenades, pulling the safety pin out before the it goes off in a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

As the two cars blows up from the explosion, Dom rolls across the floor, his body injured from the blast.

The same could be said with Max who lands into the sand.

Though wounded, both Dom and Max gets up, blood dripping from their wounds as they faces off one last time.

Max: Last chance. Give up.

Dom: No, you give up.

Max: Give up? Look at you! All alone here, you don't have your friends to back you up.

Dom: I don't have friends.

Dom then swipes out his double barrel shotgun and he says.

Dom: I got family.

Both Dom and Max opens fire at each other.

BANG!!!

The two man stood their ground, neither moving a muscle before Dom drops onto his knees, wincing as he felt the bullet pierce his side.

At the same time, Max looks down, noticing the bullet in his chest before muttering out.

Max: What..the...hell...

Max then collapses onto the floor, dead.

<Cue: See You Again by Wiz Khalifa feat Charlie Puth>

Dom looks back at the burning wreckage before turning around, what he saw causes his eyes to widen.

Standing above him is a tall colosseum.

Dom stares at it in shock, speechless.

He looks at the door in front of him, not knowing what to do.

But yet, something beckons him, as if the colosseum wants him to enter.

Though cautious, Dom picks up the knife from his dead opponent and he enters, entering his room unaware he is gonna need a bigger knife for what is about to come.

KO!

<Cue: Island Song by Ashley Erikkson>

Megumi: Damn, never underestimate the power of Family.

Toomi: Both action heroes are certainly skilled in driving, surviving explosions and besting physically stronger opponents, there are definitely certain scenarios where Mad Max can beat Dominic Toretto.

Sachi: However, in terms of their fighting skills, while both are known for their incredible of strength and endurance, Dominic holds the better experience, having fought many many opponents in his time, enemies ranging from mercenaries, assassins and even trained soldiers whereas Max only fought other mercenaries.

Megumi: Not to mention Dom has done many incredible kind of stunts, especially the one time he jumped through two buildings with a car and survived literal plane crashes, though he has cover a car, it's way more better than Max's more grounded feats.

Toomi: While both have bested strong opponents, Dom is more independent when it comes to fighting. Sure, Max is more of a loner than Dom but Max has went through many situations where he would died had it not been for the help of others whereas while Dom does depend on his family and friends for help, there are many times he does things by himself and does things good.

Sachi: Then there is weaponary, while both men are skilled with knives and guns, Dom often times relies more on hand to hand combat which gives Max the advantage in weapons though that's not saying Dom isn't skilled with weapons considering he knows how to use them.

Megumi: While you can argue that Max is tougher since the man has survived a long time in the desert suffering hunger, dehydration and blood loss, sadly, that is not really a factor in a who would win fight.

Toomi: Though Max sure is tough and his reputation in the post apocalyptic world precedes him, Dom's experience, strength, skills in martial arts and driving along with his endurance is what earn him the victory of this match.

Megumi: If you think Max is Mad, by the end of this fight, he should be really Furious right now

Sachi: The winner is Dominic Toretto

Dom: Money will come and go. We know that. But the most important thing in life will always be the people in this room, right here, right now. Salute, mi familia.

Toomi: Hey guys, thank you so much for checking out our battle in What if Battles 2.

Sachi: If you want more content like this, don't forget to add this in your library and comment if you have any idea for a fight.

Megumi: Until then, next time on What if Battles...

Trivia

* The connections between Mad Max and Dominic Toretto is that both combatants are muscular men skilled in driving, usually involved in fighting enemies fist to fist and high speed chases involving cars while going through explosions, and stunts that would have killed most humans. The two also learn the values of friendship throughout their adventures as they tries to survive in their dangerous world

* The two are also skilled in hand to hand combat and are capable of using anything they can get their hands on in their fight but they mostly relies on driving recklessly and killing their opponents to solve their problems

* This battle can be seen as a battle of opposites as Mad Max was a former cop before turning into a mercenary while Dominic Toretto was an ex-convict who becomes an illegal street racer that also performs criminal acts. Mad Max is also a loner who doesn't have lasting relationships with anyone while Dominic Toretto is a family man that prioritises family over everything else.

* Interestingly, both character actors have acted as characters in Marvel movies, with Tom Hardy playing Eddie Brock in Venom and Vin Diesel playing Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy

* This is the first time a Mad Max character fights a Fast and Furious character

* This is the first time a Fast and Furious character wins a What if Battle

* This is the first time a Mad Max character loses a What if Battle

* Megumi's quote at the end of Dominic Toretto's analysis is a reference to a line from the movie Fast and Furious 6

* During the fight, Garou and Kenshiro could be seen fighting in the background, making this fight connected Garou vs Kenshiro

* Interestingly, Mad Max was the inspiration to Fist of the North Star with Kenshiro's design being very similar to Max.

* Dominic's line " I don't have friends, I got family" is a reference to his quote from the Movie Fast and Furious 7

* At the end of the fight, Dominic finds the Colosseum at the end before entering it, making this the fourth battle to tease the final episode, the first being Time Travel Battle Royale, John Cena vs Rick Astley and Raiden vs Raiden

* Megumi's pun at the end references the name of both their series with the word "Mad" from Mad Max and "Furious" from Fast and Furious with both words associating with anger
