M.O.G.U.E.R.A vs Striker Eureka

Toho vs Pacific Rim, which two robots built for killing monsters will emerge as the victorious monster killer

<Cue: Invader Theme>

Toomi: When the world is undergoing a monster apocalypse, mankind will try every way to exterminate the monsters

Megumi: And there is no better way to kill a Kaiju than building robots!

Toomi: Such as M.O.G.U.E.R.A, the U.N built anti-Godzilla Mecha,

Megumi: And Striker Eureka, the Jaeger of Australia, she's Sachi, Toomi and I'm Megumi

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle

Koji Shinjo and Kiyoshi Sato operates M.O.G.U.E.R.A for a What if Battle

<Cue: Hero by Skillet>

Toomi: Following the destruction of Mechagodzilla 2, the G-Force with the help from Russia used it's remains to create a new mecha with the same purpose, to kill Godzilla. Going by the name "Mobile Operation Godzilla Universal Expert Robot Aero-type."

Sachi: Or just M.O.G.U.E.R.A for short.

Megumi: There's just one thing though, why do they not want to just rebuild Mechagodzilla instead? I mean it did killed Godzilla and this time, there's no radioactive Pterodactly to bring him back to life.

Toomi: They actually thought of doing so but the state Mechagodzilla is in, is better to just build another robot instead. And fun fact, it was the idea of special effects director Koichi Kawakita to revive Moguera from The Mysterians, which was one of his favorite monsters, for the sixth entry in the Heisei series.

Megumi: Cool. Didn't know that.

Sachi: Anyway, when SpaceGodzilla is detected flying towards Earth, M.O.G.U.E.R.A was sent to take on the Kaiju, only to end up flying out of control by the Kaiju.

<Shows footages of M.O.G.U.E.R.A spiraling out of control in space>

Toomi: But miraculously, M.O.G.U.E.R.A made it back to Earth to undergo repairs, only for the pilot Akira Yuki, who held a grudge against Godzilla, redirected the mech and attacked Godzilla instead.

Megumi: The other pilots, Koji Shinjo and Kiyoshi Sato, knocked Yuki out and flew to Fukuoka where the Mecha fought SpaceGodzilla until Godzilla himself arrived to join the battle.

Sachi: And after destroying Fukuoka tower which is SpaceGodzilla's source of energy, both M.O.G.U.E.R.A and Godzilla began gaining the upper hand over the monster before SpaceGodzilla impaled the Mecha with his tail, sending it crashing into a building

Megumi: Shinjo and Sato escaped but Yuki then flew the damaged M.O.G.U.E.R.A into SpaceGodzilla, knocking the monster down before becoming completely disabled.

Sachi: Shinjo then rescued Yuki from the wreakage before Godzilla unleashes his Hyper Spiral Ray, completely destroying SpaceGodzilla for good. Leaving Godzilla victorious, but his success would never have come without M.O.G.U.E.R.A's help.

Toomi: As a robot built for the purpose of killing Godzilla, M.O.G.U.E.R.A is equipped with plasma laser cannons and anti-Godzilla missiles which can be used to harm Godzilla or any other Kaijus.

Megumi: It also has a jet booster which it can use for flight, and even a nose drilling for drilling into skin, literally.

<Shows footages of M.O.G.U.E.R.A's drill nose impaling SpaceGodzilla's shoulder>

M.O.G.U.E.R.A

Flight

Plasma Laser Cannons

Spiral Grenade Missiles

Has treads under feet for faster movement on land

Can fire a beam from its chest

Can fire two lasers from hands

Drill for nose

Can separate into the Star Falcon and Land Moguera

EMP Bomb

Sachi: But unlike it's predecessor, M.O.G.U.E.R.A is capable of splitting itself into two separate war machines, Star Falcon for air support and Land Moguera for ground assault.

<Shows footages of M.O.G.U.E.R.A splitting itself into two parts>

Toomi: Star Falcon is capable of flying at mach speeds and is equipped with plasma laser cannons used for aerial assault.

Megumi: And it's lower half Land Moguera, has a rotating drill for digging, cannons for firing beams and can travel at 120 kilometers per hour on land

Toomi: M.O.G.U.E.R.A is a force to be reckoned with, equipped with anti-Godzilla weapons, M.O.G.U.E.R.A is more than capable of damaging SpaceGodzilla's crystals and even keep up with him in space.

Megumi: And it also held the upper hand over the monster, the very same monster that defeated Godzilla in their first encounter.

Sachi: It has also held it's own against a huge mass of Kaiju Trilopods, fought against Gigan and Orga and in a manga, it even destroyed Mechagodzilla 2

Feats

Held the upper hand over SpaceGodzilla

Obliterated a Baragon Trilopod

Fought Gigan and Orga alongside Godzilla

Destroyed Mechagodzilla 2

Killed Biollante

Held it's own against an army of Trilopods

Was Godzilla's only ally in the entire Heisei era

Collapsed the Fukouka Tower

Toomi: That's not all, during the monster apocalypse in the Godzilla Netflix prequel novel, M.O.G.U.E.R.A was one of the weapons built by the Bilusaludo to combat the monsters and it came out victorious in it's battle against Biollante

Megumi: Damn. No wonder why they don't need Mechagodzilla.

Toomi: However, unlike Mechagodzilla, M.O.G.U.E.R.A is not programmed for close combat, usually relying on attacking it's opponents with range attacks.

Sachi: And while M.O.G.U.E.R.A's Synthetic Blue Diamond-Coated Armor granted it impressive resistance to Godzilla's atomic breath and allowed it to withstand repeated strikes from SpaceGodzilla's Corona Beam, its left arm was eventually blown off from a direct strike from the Corona Beam.

Weakness

At a disadvantage in close combat; as it's more powerful weapons are long-ranged.

Is considered to be a frail Glass-Cannon

Not designed with the same budget and armor as it's predecessor

Was highly susceptible to interference from SpaceGodzilla's electromagnetic waves but that weakness was removed

Completely immobile while SpaceGodzilla impaled it with his tail

Defeated by Orga and Gigan

Torn apart by an army of Trilopods

Destroyed by Godzilla's Hyper Spiral Ray

Toomi:  M.O.G.U.E.R.A's most critical weakness, however, was the design flaw involving the use of its Plasma Maser Cannon. When the port covering this weapon was open, the armor in M.O.G.U.E.R.A's midsection was compromised, allowing it to be critically damaged with an attack targeting the Cannon. One such example is when SpaceGodzilla impaled his tail into M.O.G.U.E.R.A's plasma maser cannon, disabling the robot completely

Sachi: And when Godzilla finished off SpaceGodzilla, M.O.G.U.E.R.A was destroyed along with him

<Shows footages of Godzilla destroying both SpaceGodzilla and M.O.G.U.E.R.A>

Megumi: But hey, if it wasn't for the help of that mech, Godzilla would never had won.

M.O.G.U.E.R.A: M.O.G.U.E.R.A

Herc and Chuck Hansen deploys Striker Eureka for a What if Battle

<Cue: Warrior by Havana Brown>

Toomi: Constructed five years before the closure of the Jaeger Program, Striker Eureka was launched on November 2, 2019.

Sachi: The Australian division of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps invested a reported $100 billion into the construction of Striker Eureka. Over the course of its career, Striker Eureka is accredited with over nine kills prior to 2025.

Megumi: And at January 2025, Sydney is attacked by a Category IV Kaiju, Mutavore. The Kaiju effortlessly breaks through the Anti-Kaiju Wall and invades the city. Until Striker Eureka came and finished the Kaiju off.

<Shows footages of Striker Eureka firing it's Anti-Kaiju Missiles at Mutavore, instantly killing it.>

Chuck: That's Striker Eureka's tenth kill today, a new record.

Toomi: Soon, relocated to Hong Kong's Shatterdome with Crimson Typhoon, Cherno Alpha and Gypsy Danger, where it would continue its service for the last eight months of funding available to Marshal Stacker Pentecost.

Sachi: The plan was to use Striker Eureka as a bomb to destroy the Breach with Gypsy Danger, Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha to act as it's defenders from Kaiju attacks.

Megumi: But unfortunately for them, Otachi emerged and attacked both Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha and when Leatherback arrived, Crimson Typhoon was destroyed and both Kaijus ended up double teaming over Cherno Alpha.

Toomi: Without any other options, Striker Eureka then went on to take on Otachi, getting the upperhand before an unexpected attack from Leatherback's EMP blast.

<Shows footages of Leatherback unleashing his EMP burst, disabling Striker Eureka completely>

Megumi: And just when all hope is lost, Gypsy Danger arrived and with it's help, both Otachi and Leatherback were defeated. But the plan ended up being compromised with the demise of Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha.

Sachi: On January 12, 2025, Striker Eureka is repaired and prepped for the mission to the portal. With Herc injured from the last battle, Pentecost takes his place as Chuck's co-pilot

Toomi: Gypsy Danger and Striker Eureka are airlifted to the breach's location and dropped down into the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean - the Challenger Deep. Where they were intercepted by Slattern, Scunner and Raiju

Megumi: In the battle against Slattern, Striker and the payload release are further damaged, preventing the pilots from deploying the bomb, leaving Pentecost and Chuck  unable to fire the payload manually.

Sachi: Attempting to buy both Raleigh and Mako time, Striker Eureka sets off the payload, killing Scunner and wounding Slattern at the cost of it's pilots life.

Toomi: The strongest and fastest of the Jaegers, Striker Eureka's fighting style is akin to that of a dirty boxer or brutal brawler. Said style stems primarily from its pilots, Chuck and Herc Hansen's fighting style.

Megumi: Striker Eureka's speed and agility allow it to combat and kill Kaiju far quicker than the previous Jaeger series produced, its T-16 Angel Wings acting as stabilizers to maintain aerodynamic balance during the turbulence of burst combat.

Sachi: In turn, they're backed by a pair of twin retractable Assault Mount 3.25 "Sting-Blades" laced with carbon nanotubes that channel thermal energy at temperatures over three-hundred degrees Fahrenheit, capable of wounding and cauterizing Kaiju in close combat.

Toomi: Striker's six-barreled WMB2x90 Anti-Kaiju Missile chest launcher is equipped with eighteen individual K-Stunner warheads that kill Kaiju with a direct hit

Megumi: All of that sure is useful as Striker Eureka held the highest number of Kaiju kills, killing 12 Kaijus before it's destruction.

Sachi: With it's agility and strength, Striker Eureka was able to beat down Otachi and even lift her up before throwing her down.

Megumi: And just to note, Otachi actually weighs about 2,690 tons so damn, that's one heavy girl, especially a pregnant one.

Sachi: Wait? Pregnant?

<Shows footages of a baby Otachi bursting out of it's mother's womb>

Feats

Killed 12 Kaijus

Striker Eureka's Anti-Kaiju missiles killed Mutavore instantly

Threw down Otachi

Wounded Slattern and killed Scunner at the same time

The only Jaeger with the highest number of Kaiju kills

One of the Jeagers aside from Gypsy Danger to last the longest during the war

Able to cut into Slattern despite being dwarfed completely by the Kaiju

Toomi: However, despite it's advantages, Striker Eureka is not perfect. Being a Jaeger, Striker Eureka needs two pilots with a special bond with each other otherwise activation would be impossible

Sachi: And knowing the edgy relationship between Herc and his son Chuck, it remains questionable their ability to hold a Neural Handshake.

Megumi: And it's not immune to EMP attacks

Weakness

Needs two pilots to form a Neural Handshake in order to function

Herc's relationship with Chuck leads to a rather questionable ability to hold a Neural Handshake

EMPs can disable Jaegers

Almost destroyed by Leatherback

Dominated by Slattern

Ultimately destroyed when Pentacost and Chuck activated the Payload, killing them both in the process

Toomi: And like most machines, Striker Eureka is also dependent on repairs an refuels which can be quite expensive during a crisis like this

Sachi: And it was destroyed in the end

<Shows footages of both Pentacost and Chuck activating the trigger, causing the Payload to go off>

Megumi: But with the highest kill count in the Pacific Rim history, gotta give respect to Striker Eureka there.

Chuck: Like my father always said, said if you had a shot, you take it. So let's do this!

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Sachi: Don't forget to vote, comment what you think of the fight.

Megumi: Yeah, but right now, it's time for a Death Battle!

Fight

Australian Causeway

<Cue: Robot Riot>

CRASH!!!

A loud crashing sound explodes across the causeway as Striker Eureka steps back, facing M.O.G.U.E.R.A in battle.

Seated inside M.O.G.U.E.R.A, Kiyoshi and Shinjo presses at the controls, speaking amongst themselves.

Kiyoshi: Alright, let's show that tin can what we can do.

Shinjo: Yeah, let's go!

However, right as M.O.G.U.E.R.A lunges forward, Striker Eureka swerves to the side before throwing up a left arm, striking the mecha under it's chin.

CLANK!!!

Herc: Hell yeah!

Both Herc and Chuck looks at each other, with Herc saying to his son.

Herc: Come on, let's show them what a father and son combo can do!

Chuck: No need to tell me twice!

Announcer: Fight!

<Cue: Yes! Ok! by Lisa>

Striker Eureka sprints forward, swerving to the side as M.O.G.U.E.R.A fires a torrent of eye beams at the oncoming Jeager.

VREEEE!!! VREEEE!!!

Striker Eureka jumps up into the air, throwing it's fist down into M.O.G.U.E.R.A.

CLANK!!!

CLANK!!! CLANK!!! CLANK!!!

Kiyoshi and Shinjo grits their teeth, grabbing onto the controls to regain the mecha's footing as Striker Eureka throws multiple strikes at the robot.

Herc: Take that!

Striker Eureka swings out it's arm, brandishing a long razor sharp blade from it's arm before swinging it outwards, slicing M.O.G.U.E.R.A square in the neck.

SLASH!!!

Kiyoshi: GAAAHHHH!!!

As sparks of electricity explodes within the cockpit of the mecha, Shinjo says to Kiyoshi,

Shinjo: Quickly, we need to strike back!

Without needing to be told twice, both Kiyoshi and Shinjo pushes the nozzle of the controls forward, sending MO.G.U.E.R.A lunging close towards Striker Eureka's chest.

Before either Herc or Chuck could react, M.O.G.U.E.R.A's drill nose began slamming itself into Striker Eureka's arm, spinning swiftly as the blade cuts into the Jeager's thick metal casing.

RRRRRR!!!!

Striker Eureka swings it's arm to the side, striking M.O.G.U.E.R.A in the cheek.

CLANK!!!

As M.O.G.U.E.R.A staggers backwards, Striker Eureka stood with it's arms outstretched, it's chest cavity opens up, revealing a set of launchers aiming straight at M.O.G.U.E.R.A.

Herc: Alright! Take this you rusted bucket of bolts!

Herc screams out as Striker Eureka unleashes a hail of anti-kaiju missiles at M.O.G.U.E.R.A.

FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!!

At the same time, M.O.G.U.E.R.A's drill hand opens up, firing a  couple of anti-Godzilla missiles at Striker Eureka.

FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!!

Missiles from both sides flew across the battlefield, striking right into both mechas.

KABOOM!!!

Herc and Chuck: ARGHHHHHH!!!

Both Father and son screams out in agony as Striker Eureka staggers back, it's armor damaged by the impact of the explosion.

At the same time, sparks explodes across M.O.G.U.E.R.A's torso as one of the mecha's eyes sparks out of life, leaving only one eye glowing.

Realizing the situation they are in, Shinjo turns to Kiyoshi, saying.

Shinjo: Kiyoshi, I'll attack from above, you cover me.

Kiyoshi: Got it.

VREEEE!!! VREEE!!!

Almost immediately, M.O.G.U.E.R.A's head slowly slides down into it's chest as it places it's arms, together, detaching itself from it's lower half.

Watching from the distance, Chuck turns to Herc, questioning his father.

Chuck: Oy. What the hell are they thinkin' they doin?

Herc: No idea but we've better be ready!

Striker Eureka raises up it's fists, only to find itself facing M.O.G.U.E.R.A, now split into two machines.

M.O.G.U.E.R.A has split itself into Star Falcon and Land Moguera.

WHOOSH!!!

Star Falcon swoops up into the air, opening fire at the Jaeger.

THOOM!!! THOOM!!!

KABOOM!!!

As Striker Eureka staggers backwards, Land Moguera drives across the floor, slamming itself nose first into Striker Eureka's leg.

BAM!!!

Chuck: ARGHHH!!! Crickey!

Chuck curses out as Striker Eureka swings it's blades across, slicing through the air aimlessly as it struggles to hold back the continuous onslaught from both Star Falcon and Land Moguera.

THOOM!!! THOOM!!!

Explosions booms across Striker Eureka as the Jeager stumbles back, crashing backfirst into the ground before it's arm goes off in a fiery explosion.

KABOOM!!!

As Striker Eureka struggles to rise, both Star Falcon and Land Moguera flies close to one another, both their infrastructure shifting and morphing as the two machines fuses themselves back into M.O.G.U.E.R.A once more.

M.O.G.U.E.R.A: M.O.G.U.E.R.A!

Both Kiyoshi and Shinjo then presses onto the controls of the mecha, instantly activating every weapon available down onto the helpless Jaeger.

THOOM!!! BZZZTTT!!!

A massive hail of lasers from both M.O.G.U.E.R.A's eyes and chest fires right onto Striker Eureka, sending it's body out into several rounds of explosions.

KABOOM!!! KABOOM!!!

Just as Striker Eureka drops down on it's knees, M.O.G.U.E.R.A's chest cavity opens, unleashing a powerful plasma blast right onto the Jeager.

THOOM!!!

KABOOM!!!

Upon collision, Striker Eureka's entire body went off in a massive fiery explosion, sending debris and fire raining across the causeway.

Laughing out in triumph, Kiyoshi turns to Shinjo and he cheers out.

Kiyoshi: Yes! We did it!

Shinjo: Yup.

Shinjo smiles as he twists the controls, driving M.O.G.U.E.R.A out of the causeway.

KO!

<Cue: Forever in Your Dreams by Really Slow Motion>

Megumi: So that pretty much ends Striker Eureka's Kaiju killing spree over there.

Toomi: This fight is surprisingly close with both combatants having many advantages to counter each others attacks but M.O.G.U.E.R.A's versatility won out in the end.

Sachi: Indeed, while Striker Eureka is armed with a decent amount of weaponry, that is nothing compared to the amount of weapons M.O.G.U.E.R.A has, ranging from chest cannons to eye beams to drill noses to jet boosters.

Megumi: And even if M.O.G.U.E.R.A is slower that Striker Eureka, it still has it's ability to split itself into Star Falcon and Land Moguera to make up for it's lack of speed.

Toomi: To be honest, both Herc and Chuck Hansen did held a massive advantage over Kiyoshi and Shinjo, having way better teamwork, better technique and way more experience fighting monsters but sometimes, technique and experience are nothing compared to raw power

Megumi: Yeah, when M.O.G.U.E.R.A was dominating SpaceGodzilla who was more than capable of beating the G-Man himself. And just to note, Striker Eureka was able to throw down Otachi which weighs at  2,690 tons but M.O.G.U.E.R.A went toe to toe with SpaceGodzilla who weighs at 72,000 tons.

Sachi: Even heavier than many of the Kaijus in the Pacific Rim universe

Toomi: And though Striker Eureka's combat abilities and Anti-Kaiju missiles certainly has allowed it to one shot Kaijus in the past, M.O.G.U.E.R.A's armor helps it to counter many of Striker Eureka's attacks, especially since it tanked Godzilla's Spiral Ray which has nuclear energy close enough to rival that of an atom bomb.

Sachi: And the same kind of explosion destroyed Striker Eureka in the end

Toomi: Having the advantage in power and armor, M.O.G.U.E.R.A has what it takes to take down the Australian Jaeger once and for all.

Megumi: Looks like M.O.G.U.E.R.A put Striker Eureka down in a land down under.

 Sachi: The winner is M.O.G.U.E.R.A

M.O.G.U.E.R.A: M.O.G.U.E.R.A.

Toomi: Hey guys, thank you so much for checking out our battle in What if Battles 2.

Sachi: If you want more content like this, don't forget to add this in your library and comment if you have any idea for a fight.

Megumi: Until then, next time on What if Battles....

Trivia

* The connections between M.O.G.U.E.R.A and Striker Eureka is that both combatants are robots equipped with a massive variety of weapons that are created with the purpose of killing monsters

* The two are also piloted by more than one pilot

* This is the first time a Toho character fights a Pacific Rim character

* This is the sixth time a Toho character won a What if Battle, the first being Heisei Kaiju Battle Royale, Burning Godzilla vs Super Godzilla, Shin Godzilla vs Legendary Godzilla, Pollution Kaiju Battle Royale and Legion vs Destoroyah

* This is the first time a Pacific Rim character loses a What if Battle

* This fight is most likely a reference to Kiryu vs Gypsy Danger back in Laura_Hollis' first What if Battle although the fight is not connected to it at all.

* When Megumi brought up rebuilding Mechagodzilla during M.O.G.U.E.R.A's analysis is based off the original concept to bring back Mechagodzilla to help Godzilla fight SpaceGodzilla, but was scraped due to how one-sided the entire battle would be

* Although that idea was later used in the comic Godzilla Half-Century War

* The interesting thing to note is that throughout the entire Heisei era, M.O.G.U.E.R.A is by far the only Kaiju to be an ally to Godzilla

* Striker Eureka was initially chosen to be the "Hero Jaeger" of the film, but Guillermo del Toro thought its appearance was "too cold" and "arrogant
