Toomi: Pure, unadulterated rage. Usually, in a stressful situation, you'd want to avoid this sort of emotion, in order to keep yourself focused.

Megumi: Unless you're a giant, rampaging pile of muscles, like these two.

Toomi: Like Immortal Hulk, the Devil Hulk

Megumi: And Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan, she's Sachi, Toomi and I'm Megumi.

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Hulk hulks up for a What if Battle

Toomi: Robert Bruce Banner was born to Brian and Rebecca Banner. His father was a well-known physisist and researcher of atomic energy.

Megumi: Which sounds like a pretty good upside... except Brian was an alcoholic, abusive, and all-around angry a-hole.

Sachi: Hating his only son, jealous of him being an object of his wife's love, and convinced that his work with radiation had given him a mutant son, Brian abused him verbally and physically.

Megumi: So after some daddy issues settled out with him killing his own father, Bruce eventually was approached by General Ross to develop the gamma bomb. Funny to note that Bruce wanted to create a weapon that could destroy weapons and buildings, but spare lives... because that's not how those things work

Sachi: When the gamma bomb was about to be tested, some teenager walked into the test area and Bruce ran out to save the guy, pushing him into a protective trench, but was too late to save himself as it went off.

Megumi: And what simply began as a man trying to run from the military would soon become one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe. While originally grey and only turning into the Hulk at night, he eventually turned green and transformed due to adrenaline... and anger

Captain America: Dr. Banner, now might be a pretty good time to get angry.

Bruce Banner: That's my secret Cap, I'm always angry.

<Bruce then transform into the Hulk and he throws one powerful punch, instantly killing the Leviathan>

Sachi: And since then, Bruce Banner ends up joining the Avengers, helping the likes of Captain America, Iron Man and Thor in saving the world from evil.

Megumi: Yeah, sad to say, the current Hulk right now is just not as lovable as this song would say.

Toomi: Totally agree with you on that one Megumi, after going through many deaths and rebirths, this resulted in Bruce Banner unleashing an alter ego so powerful he sealed all the other incarnations of the Hulk away to become Bruce's dominant persona.

Sachi: Unlike the other Hulk incarnations, Immortal Hulk is content with waiting inside Banner. If Banner is injured by sunset, the Immortal Hulk will emerge with his transformation being limited to night-time.

Megumi: And if you guys think Savage Hulk and World Breaker is bad, trust me, Immortal Hulk is on a way different level, with him even deeming those two to be no stronger than children.

Toomi: Immortal Hulk being a Hulk has the same powers as any other Hulks, super strength, super speed and Gamma absorption but on a much higher level.

Megumi: He has a gamma burst ability capable of leveling a mountain. Regeneration that can result in something that looks like a scene from a horror movie and surprisingly, great intelligence.

Toomi: Indeed, shocking as it may sound but unlike the man child Savage Hulk is, Immortal Hulk is surprisingly smart, being aware of Captain America being Captain Hydra in another Earth, knowing the name of a murder victim without meeting her and even guiding Bruce Banner's actions, which mean that this is the one time where Hulk is smarter than Bruce

Megumi: Wait, the big brute that loves punching and throwing temper tantrums is holding back?

Sachi: Yup.

Megumi: Damn! I definitely don't want to know what else can this Hulk do.

Toomi: Oh it's gonna get much worst Megumi. This Hulk is not considered to be the most powerful for nothing, he has defeated many of the heavy hitters in the Marvel Universe, took down the Silver Surfer and even bested Galactus is battle

Sachi: Hulk has also survived a lot from getting cut to getting his flesh burned by acid and he somehow finds a way to regenerate himself into some abomination.

Megumi: And to all MCU fans, do you remember the Strongest Avenger rivalry between Hulk and Thor in the movies? Well in the comic Avengers No Road Home, Voyager mentions about seeking the Avengers, starting with the strongest, and guess who was the first one she approached.

Megumi: Holy shit! Can't believe that Hulk used to be the same Hulk who lost to Darkseid back in one of our battles in 2019.

Toomi: However, Immortal Hulk still have weaknesses. The Avengers have a powerful weapon known as the Helios Cannon which was powerful enough to tear Hulk apart, and then keeping all his body parts in separate jars to prevent him from regenerating back.

Sachi: And Hulk is not the only one who got a power up. In the recent comics, Thor after killing the Godbutcher Gorr and gaining the powers of Galactus, Thor got his sweet revenge on Hulk. defeating him and almost killing him.

Megumi: I'm sure you OG Dragon Ball fans remember the raging Legendary Super Saiyan that blew up South Galaxy and loves screaming

Broly: Kakarot!

Toomi: But unlike this original Broly, this version of Broly had a way less tragic story. But like his original counterpart, he was sent away in space to die due to having a much higher power level than the Royal Family.

Sachi: After stealing a ship, Paragus races to rescue his son, only for the ship to be badly damaged though he was reunited with his son on the planet Vampa.

Megumi: And so, father and son spent years together, training, sparring and eating giant bugs to gain all those thick ass muscles until the arrival of Cheelai and Lemo. Who then contacted Frieza whom the latter then recruited into his army for his mission to Earth.

Toomi: And when the ship landed on Earth, it was then where Broly met Goku and Vegeta for the first time.

Sachi: Broly has a wide assortment of different Ki techniques. He an charge fast enough to break your rib-cage with the Gigantic Charge, slam you into the ground with the Gigantic Rage, blast you into oblivion with Eraser Canon, Powered Shell, and Gigantic Cluster.

And, much like his original counterpart, this new Broly seems to constantly grow in power as he fights. Although this is less due to infinitely raising power and more because he's a natural warrior and a quick study, in Vegeta's own words, learning as he fights. This lead to him harnessing a Saiyan's primal power to form an all new transformation.

Sachi: The "Wrath State" if you will harness's the power of the Saiyan Oozaru for a, likely, times ten power boost. This form is powerful, but does cause Broly to enter a state of berserker's rage, granting incredible power at the cost of self-control.

Paragus: It looks as though he managed to transform somehow. Attaining the incredible strength the Saiyans have everytime they become Great Apes only he's remaining in his human form, pertaining his speed and agility

Megumi: However, when Broly seemed to be against the wall, Frieza fired a blast straight through Paragus's chest. And that's where you see the best acting of the year.

Frieza: Broly look! It's such a tragedy! It's your father! He was killed by a stray energy blast!

Toomi: Yeah and that's when Broly unleashes the power of the Super Saiyan. In this form, he can keep up with Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, the same Goku and Vegeta who defeated a huge number of Tournament of Power fighters in the previous arc.

Sachi: Especially when you realize that they are the same Goku who resisted the black hole from the 2nd Universe warriors, the same Goku who fought evenly with Kefla, the same Vegeta who defeated Top and the same Goku who defeated Jiren.

Megumi: And Frieza did got his just desserts cause Broly ended up beating the living crap out of him for one whole hour

Sachi: Broly's ability to grow and learn is seemingly limitless. While Broly forces Gogeta to use Super Saiyan and is able to match him in terms of power, he is steadily overwhelmed by the fused Saiyan's superior skill until Broly's Super Saiyan form ends up dominating Gogeta.

Megumi: Man, I can see why Akira Toriyama wants to bring him into canon, he's too awesome of a character to pass out.

Toomi: However, due to aggressive training by Paragus, Broly lacks any other form of combat techniques, mostly relying on straightforward punching tactics which is not really wise against the likes of Goku and Vegeta who have years of battle experience

Sachi: I mean who can blame him? When the only people Broly has ever fought are his own father and the monsters, he has no one stronger to challenge him so it's not really possible to improve fighting the same kind of opponents all the time.

Toomi: And remember when we said about Broly fighting on par with Gogeta? Well when Gogeta decided to transform into a Super Saiyan Blue, Broly ended up losing to him. Forcing Cheelai to use one of the wishes with the Dragon Balls to bring Broly back to planet Vampa to save him from Gogeta.

Sachi: But to be honest, it's nice to see a change of Broly's character. To see him friendly, caring and even having friends who shows actual care and concern for him. Heck, even Goku ended up respecting him instead of wanting to kill him.

Megumi: But it still doesn't make us like his non-canon counterpart any less.

Paragus: This is our chance my son! Attack!

Broly: HHHUUUAUARRRGGHHHH!!!

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Desert, night

<Cue: Toxic by First to Eleven>

In the cold breezing night of the desert, Bruce Banner sat on the sand, leaning his head back before closing his eyes, falling into a deep slumber.

However, right at that moment, something falls down from the sky, crashing right on top of Banner.

KABOOM!!!

As the smoke clears, a large muscular being stumbles out of the crater, surveying the area around him.

He is Broly, one of the last surviving Saiyans of the 7th Universe.

As Broly stares at the wide array of sand around him, he was unaware of a small humanoid hand growing, turning larger and greener.

Just as Broly looks down, all of a sudden, he felt one powerful blow strike him hard in the head.

BAM!!!

Broly: ARRRRGGGHHH!!!

Broly screams out in agony, falling back first into the sand.

As Broly recovers from the blow, he looks up, his eyes widens at the large hulking figure stepping towards him.

Bruce Banner has transformed into the Hulk, but not the same Hulk.

Hulk narrows his eyes, sniffing Broly's scent before speaking to him in a low devilish growl.

Hulk: Interesting. I seem to remember having an encounter with you that is similar but yet different. Am I right to assume that you are the Legendary Super Saiyan my weaker form fought?

Broly: L...Legendary Super Saiyan?

Broly questions, confused by the Hulk's words.

However, Hulk simply reacted to Broly's confusion with a smirk.

Hulk: No matter, if words won't be enough, then I'll just have to beat it right into you.

Announcer: Fight!

<Cue: My Fight by Ashes to New>

WHOOSH!!!

Hulk lunges forward, rearing his arm before throwing it forward, only for Broly to raise up his arms, shielding himself from the blow.

BAM!!!

Hulk: Hm?

Broly grits his teeth, seething with anger as he throws his elbows up, striking Hulk under the chin.

WHAM!!!

Broly then launches himself up into the air, throwing multiple blows onto the Hulk.

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Broly: EEAARRRGHHHH!!!

Broly then throws a single punch, sending Hulk crashing into the sand.

CRASH!!!

However, Hulk simply reacted with a smirk.

Hulk: Not bad. Actually felt that.

Just as Broly lunges forward, Hulk spun around before slamming his palms together.

BOOM!!!

The sheer power of the impact sends a massive shockwave across, forcing Broly back.

Just as Broly is sent flying, Hulk jumps up into the sky, throwing several hard punches across Broly's entire body.

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Hulk then grabs onto Broly before tossing him far across the desert.

As Broly is sent flying, Hulk lands feet first onto the ground and he runs, persuing his opponent.

Nearby Town

At a nearby town, onlookers screams out in terror just as Broly came crashing down right into a gas station, the impact of the blow causes the fuel to ignite in a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

As people were running away from the fires, Hulk sprints forward, punching through any cars unfortunate enough to be in his way.

CRASH!!! CRASH!!! CRASH!!!

Hulk then rears his arm back, preparing to throw a single punch right down onto Broly when all of a sudden...

Broly: HUUUAAARRRGHHHH!!!

BUUUSSSHHHH!!!

A powerful aura began emitting from Broly, causing Hulk to freeze in his tracks.

Hulk: What?

Before Hulk could react, Broly, now in his Wrath form lunges forward, grabbing Hulk by the face before slamming him repeatly onto the ground.

THOOM!!! THOOM!!! THOOM!!!

Broly: HUUUAAARRRGHHHH!!!

BAM!!!

Broly throws a single punch, sending Hulk flying before he lunges forward.

Hulk shakes his head, his eyes narrows as he turns around, throwing a kick right into Broly's gut.

WHAM!!!

Broly emits a small sphere of energy in his palm before throwing it forward, firing a ki blast right into the Hulk's face.

PIU!!! BOOM!!!

Hulk: ARRRGGHHHH!!!

Hulk lets out a bloodcurling scream, blood splattering all across the floor as he felt the ki blast tearing apart half his face.

As the meat and tissues began regrowing, Hulk throws an uppercut, striking Broly under the chin.

WHAM!!!

Broly then retaliates with a downward punch.

WHAM!!!

Hulk then throws a kick, striking Broly in the gut.

WHAM!!!

Broly struck back by sending his foot down into the Hulk's groin.

WHAM!!!

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Blow by blow, shockwave after shockwave, both goliaths continues exchanging blows, neither willing to give their opponent the upper hand.

THOOM!!!

Both Hulk's and Broly's punches strikes into each other, causing the entire ground around them to shake.

Hulk throws a punch, only for Broly to swerve to the side, dodging the blow before throwing a single kick right into his face.

BAM!!!

Hulk: RRAAAGGGHHH!!!

As the Hulk staggers back, Broly opens his jaws, launching a powerful ki blast right into the Hulk.

THOOM!!!

The sheer power of the blow instantly tore a hole right in the middle of the Hulk's chest, causing him to fall onto the ground.

Hulk lay on the ground, his eyes wide in shock.

Hulk: Incredible. He seems to have adapted to my powers. But no matter.

SLURCH!!! SLURCH!!!

As Hulk's wounds began healing, Hulk pushes himself up, speaking to himself.

Hulk: His powers are nothing compared to mine!

Hulk rose from the ground, striking Broly in the jaw with a single headbutt.

BAM!!!

Broly: Ngn!

As Broly staggers back, Hulk then grabs onto Broly before slamming him hard into the ground, causing the entire town to go off in a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

However, right at that moment, something inside of Broly snapped, causing him to turn once more.

Broly: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

BUUUSSSHHHH!!!

Hulk: What?!

Hulk watches with bewilderment as Broly's muscles expands, a surging green aura emitting around him as the Saiyan's powers continues to grow.

Broly has transformed into a Super Saiyan!

WUUUSSSHHHH!!!

Broly lunges forward, throwing several wild punches down onto the Hulk

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Moving what seems to be the speed of light itself, Broly throws Hulk up into the air before letting out a loud scream.

Broly: YYYAAAAAHHHHH!!!

BUSSSHHHH!!!

Broly's energy continues to grow and grow before setting off a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

But what happens next causes Broly's eyes to widen.

Broly: Ngn?!

Deep within the powerful blast of ki, Hulk simply flies downwards, his entire body glowing green, absorbing the ki blast around him.

WHOOM!!!

Hulk then lunges forward, throwing a single punch right into Broly's face.

BAM!!!

Staggering from the impact, Hulk smirks as he throws another punch.

WHAM!!!

Hulk: Pathetic. I have fought Gods, Celestials and even demons far stronger than you. You may have talent, but Hulk strongest there is!

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Hulk began throwing a flurry of punches down onto Broly, sending blood spilling everywhere blow after blow.

Broly: NNNAAARRRGGGHHHH!!

Severely injured from the blow, Broly launches himself up into the air, determine to escape and regroup.

However, Hulk raises his arms out before screaming out.

Hulk: There is only Hulk!

Hulk then slams his palms together, creating a powerful shockwave with a single clap.

THOOM!!!

The sheer blow instantly causes Broly's entire body to rip apart, exploding into a splash of blood and gore.

As Broly's remains falls onto the ground in a crimson bloody rain, the sun began to rise as the Hulk's entire body slowly shrinks, reverting himself back into Banner.

KO!

<Cue: Forever In My Dreams by Really Slow Motion>

Megumi: Ho ho ho! Looks like Broly had just lost against the same guy twice!

Toomi: Broly's ability to adapt and his sheer strength is enough to damage Hulk to the point he could lose his limbs but Hulk's regeneration is nothing to scoff at.

Sachi: Indeed, when the Hulk has taken multiversal level attacks from Galactus, planetary level blows from Captain Marvel and Thor and even universal attacks from the Silver Surfer and Sentry and can still shrug them off.

Toomi: It's not correct to say that Broly hasn't had his fair share of battles against multiversal opponents, especially since Broly can scale to Goku and Vegeta who have bested multiversal opponents themselves.

Megumi: Indeed, when the Tournament of Power have magical boys that can create blackholes, Kefla who matched against Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Anilaza who can warp space to create portals, Hit who can manipulate time, Dyspo who can run probably thousands of times way faster than the Speed of Light and Top who is a candidate of becoming a God of Destruction himself.

Sachi: And in the movie, Goku did mentions that Broly might be strong enough to match a God of Destruction. Which is a complete fallacy due to the fact that Beerus has yet to show off his true power, especially when Goku and Vegeta up until now has yet to be at the same level as he is.

Toomi: And even if we were to highball Broly by scaling him to Jiren who shook the entire void, that is literally nothing compared to Hulk creating six black holes with the space stone. And though Jiren's shaking the void is no small feat, it's not as impressive compared to ripping holes powerful enough to consume galaxies or universes.

Megumi: And Broly though he can match Gogeta in base and Super Saiyan form, he was completely outmatched by Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta due to the huge gap of power levels whereas Hulk doesn't seem to have that kind of problem.

Sachi: Correct. When Hulk went toe to toe with Carnage who has the power of Knull, a Symbiote God powerful enough to kill Celestials, defeated Galactus who is already capable of destroying multiverses and clapping away the One Below All.

Toomi: According to Al Ewing, the writer of Immortal Hulk, the One Below All is the evil version of the One Above All, the devil of the Marvel universe. He also mentioned that The One Below All has the same power level as The One Above All so even though Hulk didn't fight The One Above All, he's powerful enough to do so due to him defeating someone equally strong as he is.

Megumi: And when you realize that The One Above All can create all of the Marvel Multiverses, knows about the writers and even cause certain events to happen, yeah, that is levels way beyond Zeno erasing universes for shits and giggles.

Toomi: Then there is speed, Goku was already fast enough to match against Hit who can travel in pocket dimensions to perform his time skip, and also defeat Dyspo who is much faster than Hit. And Broly being able to match Goku in speed and even catch him by surprise does make him one of the fastest beings in the universe.

Sachi: But then Hulk gone up against Thor who once threw Mjonir into the Milky Way and came back in a second, reacted against Silver Surfer who can travel through time and even outsped Jane Foster Thor and Sentry who are just as fast meaning Hulk may not look like it but he's way way faster than Broly.

Megumi: And though there is a huge gap of power between Broly and the Gods, Hulk himself has became a God to the point he even took Galactus place as the bringer of death.

Toomi: Not only that but due to Hulk's regeneration and immortality, Broly has no hopes of killing Hulk with just brute strength and ki blasts alone, especially since Hulk can just absorb the ki similar to how he absorb Gamma from the Red Hulk and just power himself up to finish the job

Megumi: Looks like Broly's just got Clapped!

Sachi: The winner is The Hulk

Hulk: Muscle man strong, but Hulk strongest there is!

* The connections between Hulk and Broly is that both combatants are powerful monsters with large muscles, immense power and near uncontrollable rage. The two also possesses the power to rival Godlike beings in strength and even survive attacks that would normally kill any person.

* The two also went through a tough childhood, being treated like outcasts for most of their lives. The two also have a physically weak base form before becoming a giant powerful goliath

* Both their sources of powers comes from their fathers as Hulk uses his hatred for Brian Banner as a trigger to transform while Paragus death in the movie is what triggered Broly to unleash his full power

* Coincidently, both Brian and Paragus were rather bad fathers who abuses their sons before the two ended up dying at the hands of evil doers with Brain getting killed by Muggers and Paragus murdered by Frieza

* This is the second time a Marvel character fights a DBS character, the first being Thor vs Vegeta.

* This is the tenth time a Marvel character won a What if Battle, the first being Ego vs Mogo, Gwenpool vs Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales vs Izuku Midoriya, Spiderman vs Ruby Rose, Spider-Gwen vs Batgirl, Thor vs Vegeta, Scorpion vs Ghost Rider, Gwenpool vs Harley Quinn and Black Manta vs Cyclops

* This is the sixth time a Dragon Ball character loses a What if Battle, the first being Power Girl vs Cooler, Piccolo vs Martian Manhunter, DBS Goku vs GT Goku, Thor vs Vegeta and Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune vs Caulifla and Kale

* This fight is a remastered version of the previous Hulk vs Broly fight featured in Laura_Hollis' first What if Battle except in this version, she is using the current versions of the characters, using the Immortal Hulk instead of Savage Hulk and using Dragon Ball Super Broly instead of OVA Broly.

* But unlike their original counterparts, Immortal Hulk is a villainous character with pure malicious intends instead of being a heroic superhero like his previous form while DBS Broly is rather gentle and caring to his friends and father in contrast to his animalistic and evil original counterpart

* This is the second battle to be rewritten version of a What if battle, the first being Yang vs Leone 2019.

* In the previous battle Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune vs Caulifla and Kale, Megumi mentions that Kale looks like a certain "Legendary Super Saiyan" which ends up teasing DBS Broly's appearance in this chapter.

* Megumi also made a reference to Hulk vs Darkseid as that is Hulk's technical first appearance in this book although both Toomi and Sachi did acknowledged that despite Hulk's power ups, his loss to Darkseid is accurate.

* Hulk is also a returning character who lost a previous battle only to emerge the victor in this one, with him losing against Darkseid in Hulk vs Darkseid.

* Interestingly, Hulk even mentions a previous encounter with Broly, referencing Savage Hulk's battle against OVA Broly. However, this battle is not a sequel to the first battle

* Shockingly, the battle was released on Father's Day which is ironic considering how both Hulk and Broly were raised by abusive fathers. And the fact that Hulk has shown little to no love for his father.
