Cyborg vs War Machine

Requested by SinnamonSymon

DC vs Marvel, Stone vs Rhodes, Jock vs Soldier, Mother Box vs Stark Technology, Machine vs Man, when two African American cyborgs from rivaling Superhero companies battles, it is up to them to determine who is the true man beneath the machine.

<Cue: Invader Theme>

Toomi: Victor Stone, known as Cyborg,

Megumi: And James Rhodes, the War Machine.

Toomi: While humans have always shown incredible resilence in solving problems, sometimes machines help make solving said problems posssible.

Megumi: And what's better than combining both man and machine. She's Sachi, Toomi and I'm Megumi.

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle

Cyborg charges up for What if Battles

<Cue: I Am Machine by Three Days Grace>

Toomi: The Justice League, One of the most powerful legion of the galaxy most mightiest of heroes.

Megumi: Like the smart and always prepared Batman, The lovely and heavily skilled Wonder Woman and of course the unstoppable man of steel himself, Superman.

Sachi: But every team need a good set of brains in order to solve all the tech problem and where there are some that know how to work around a machine on how it work, None other was more of a machine then the man literally named Cyborg.

Toomi: Victor "Vic" Stone started off as your normal human being who originally was a football star to the public eyes.

Megumi: With some of course daddy issue as his dad was a doctor who never did care for the old pigskin tossing. So much so that Victor decide screw it and head over to his father work.

Sachi: The timing couldn't gone smoothly as his father was working on something that was given to him by The Flash. This was the Mother Box.

Megumi: Which is basically like a super virus that can control every tech around, oh and can also be a multi-dimensional portal where demon fly out. Which is why it probably wasn't the best idea to grab it and have it blow up on you.

Toomi: Most of Victor body was blown apart, however his flesh was also covered by some of the Mother Box that would start eating through his flesh.

Megumi: Lucky his father wasn't all bad as after some robotic surgery, Victor would now become the Half-Man Half-Machine we all known....Right after he die.

Toomi: Yeah the project wasn't really a success. However the Mother Box decided to allow Victor to stay alive along with his mind and free will and fuse his body with the device that was suppose to save him. Allowing him to become Cyborg.

Megumi: That's kind of confusing if you ask me.

Toomi: Well it complicated, It involve an alien race of half-creature half-machine that serve Darkseid. The Mother Box was originally used to convert any capture lifeform to turn them into half-cybernetic being made to serve Darkseid in the invasion. However Victor was lucky to be the only one that kept his free-will to fight against Darkseid army.

Sachi: Regardless, This mother box is more of an improvement to Cyborg in every way. He's now 10x smarter then a normal human being, Allow him to scan through technology with ease and allow him to teleport.

Toomi: The Nature of Cyborg's metallic implants allows him to be resistant to several forms of attacks, physical and energy. Cyborg's superhuman strength allows him to lift several tons.

Megumi: With his superhuman speed, he is able to run faster than a normal man and leap great distances. His bones are reinforced with molybdenum-steel, allowing for superhuman durability.

Sachi: Cyborg has sensor systems, computer interfacing, can technomorph, regenerate. To disable electronics, Cyborg can use heart attack, the ability to emit an EMP blast to disable electronics fifty meters away from him

Toomi: His arms are also outfitted with blowtorches, flashlights, retractable claws, fire extinguishers, and mallets. These cannons can also give Cyborg flight similar to that of Iron Man. Cyborg can also detach his arms from his body, either attached to a cable as a grappling hook, or launched as remote-controlled projectiles for reconnaissance and surveillance as the fingers have various optics and audio tools built into them

Megumi: The chest module houses a set of missiles, boxing glove, robotic claws, and cassette player, the shoulders each a missile launcher and speaker. He also has smaller sonic blasters on his feet and a jetpack on his back that doubles as a cannon.

Toomi: Cyborg even has a Circuit Mode where he can separate from his body. While it can hover via a booster rocket, Cyborg can use the disconnected circuits around his neck to form a tiny makeshift body strong enough to hold his head up.

Sachi: But none of that compares to his true power. You see, Cyborg is more than just a man in a metal suit. In fact, his suit comes from the Mother Box, a living Computer created by the New Gods which grants Cyborg abilities such as Cosmic Awareness, Interstellar Travel and even Dimensional Travel where Cyborg can teleport himself and others into Hypertime, something that not even the Speed Force can do.

Megumi: And he also has a Father Box which gives him Boom Tubes that he can use for travel across any parts of the universe and Hush Tubes where he can use them to transport anything or anyone across the universe, and not even Superman with his Super Hearing and Vision can detect.

Sachi: Cyborg has beaten Darkseid in a fight, even block attacks from Green Lanterns like John Steward and is powerful enough to hurt invulnerable beings like Shazam.

Feats

Possesses an IQ of 170.

His cybernetics make him immune to psychic attacks and illusions.

Able to repair and maintain his body's mechanical parts on his own.

Well versed in pop-culture, one of his favorite shows being the Golden Girls and seeing music artist Weird Al as a national treasure.

Does a spot-impersonation of his grandma Maude Stone.

Beaten Nega Beast Boy, Brother Eye, Catwoman, Grid, Atlas, Deathstroke, Lex Luthor, and Injustice Cyborg.

Build the Teen Titans' T-Car.

Graduated from the Teen Titans to the Justice League.

Was briefly a Green Lantern.

Defeated Darkseid once during one occasion.

Upgraded Titan Tower and the Hall of Justice in his spare time, enabling the latter to have a mobile fortress mode.

In the Flashpoint timeline, Cyborg was the United States' signature hero due to the American Government imprisoning Superman as a child. Being sponsored by the government, Cyborg was much more heavily armored and weaponized; he was capable of convincing an entire battleship full of supervillains to stand down with his presence alone.

Once outwitted Toyman while playing against him in a live fighting video game that used his fellow Justice League members against their will as playable characters.

Toomi: But the best part about his achievements is that he is one of the few younger generation heroes who can graduate from the Teen Titans to become a full fledge member of the Justice League.

Megumi: Plus, he can hack into any computer he wants! I mean, he's basically a walking computer himself

Toomi: However Cyborg's own worst enemy is himself as he fears becoming more machine than man and worries that might have already happened.

Sachi: And being part machine also means that Cyborg is vulnerable to hacking, EMPs and even running out of power, which results in him needing to recharge his body every now and then.

Megumi: And he has a weird obsession for meatballs. But hey, who can blame him?

Weakness

Vulnerability to Magic

Mind Control

Fear about becoming more machine than man

Missing Eye

Has 35 weak points on his body.

Frequently depicted as being vulnerable to EMPs and hacking.

Can be a very lazy man-child at times with a habit to yell when excited, tending to force others in activities that they don't like to do and playing video games while supposed to be on security duty.

Has a strange obsession over meatballs, tending to throw messy and fun mandatory parties.

Despite being well-versed of the Justice League and their enemies, Cyborg is unaware of certain facts like the Green Lantern Corps.

He was beaten once by Commissioner James Gordon (Injustice Year 2)

Despite being relatively powerful; he is significantly weaker than Wonder Woman and Darkseid.

Killed by Flashpoint Aquaman

Toomi: And being technological also means that Cyborg is also vulnerable to magic as Jinx has even tampered with his body with magic before.

Sachi: And he has been beaten by Wonder Woman, Darkseid and even killed by Aquaman.

Megumi: But one thing Victor Stone always known is that no matter how technological his body is, his human side will never be extinguished.

Cyborg: It's not in the circuitory is it? It's not the machine that resist you. It's me, my spirit. That's the part that you can't break!

War Machine Deploys into What if Battles

<Cue: Machine by Imagine Dragons>

Toomi: Tony Stark, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, Avenger... but even Iron Man needs a best friend to keep him sane, and sober.

Megumi: That man is James Rhodes, an ex-military man who met the Armored Avenger shortly after Stark's whole "Iron Man" thing started.

Sachi: James Rhodes was a pilot in the United States Marines Corps. When he was blasted out of the sky by an enemy rocket. James managed to survive, and met Iron Man who happened to be passing by.

Toomi: Turns out Rhodes wasn't the only one in trouble. Tony Stark was stranded without enough power for his suit and asked for his help. The two began an epic adventure that turned them into close friends. Rhodes stepped into his shoes of a superhero and became a man his younger self would be proud of.

Megumi: And bein' Tony's best bud had some perks! Like takin' over as Iron Man sometimes. Who wouldn't jump into that suit at the first chance?

Sachi: Eventually, he was offered a suit by Tony himself, the War Machine armor. This armor contains all the properties of a normal Iron Man suit, such as repulsor blasts, supersonic flight, enhanced strength, increased durability, and of course, the unibeam.

Megumi: The War Machine armor also packs in a shoulder-mounting gatilling gun, wrist-hinged machine guns, a rocket launcher, mini-heat seeking missile, a SPECIAL rocket capable of killing a Hulk, and an electrical short-range baton. Not to mention built-in flamethrowers and arm chainsaws.

Toomi: War Machine ALSO has energy absorbing capabilities and energy converters. Since his suit doesn't run on an arc reactor, he can charge up his batteries by converting foreign energy into fuel. In addition, he packs in some cool freezing techno-laser thingies! If that wasn't enough, War Machine can also turn invisible, and packs in some EMPs for good measure too.

Sachi: His most up-to-date suit includes incredible chameleon systems that allow him to not only become invisible, but intangible, bypassing scanners and phasing through walls.

War Machine

Repulsor beams

Unibeam

Multiple guns

Flamethrowers

Sawblades

Tasers

Energy absorption

Electromagnetic pulse

Chameleon mode

Toomi: And in the most dire of circumstances, War Machine has a self-destruct function he can call upon to make sure his tech doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

Megumi: Though War Machine may seem like a poor-man's Iron Man, War Machine has successfully made his own identity, along with his own record of achievements. He's completely tanked Storm's lightning, taken hits from Red Hulk, and also hurt Red Hulk with a combination laser assault from his two wrist cannons.

Toomi: He's strong enough to draw blood from Colossus with one punch, and was able to easily lift a 100,000 ton ship out of the sea.

Sachi: Similarly to Iron Man, War Machine is also capable of supersonic flight. And, being an ex-pilot, Rhodes is well-trained in close quarters combat and is an expert on using his suit.

Feats

Lifted a 70 ton tank

Withstood a 22 kiloton nuke

Fought through Storm's lightning

Flew into orbit in mere seconds

Outsmarted Norman Osborn

Piloted the Iron Man suit expertly with no prior training

Defeated Magma, Ultimo, Storm, Iron Man

Strong enough to throw a Panzer tank

Survived being crushed by an exploding truck

Fast enough to keep up with Living Lighting who is as fast as lightning

Outmaneuvers fighter jets and dodges missiles after they are fired

Burns Wonder Man's hand with his repulsor cannon

Tanks punches from powerhouses such as Colossus, Wonder Man, Thor, and Red Hulk

Beats Ms. Marvel

Tanks a hit from Mjolnir

His blasts make Thor yell in pain

His shields can deflect Valkyrie's magical sword: Dragonfang, which can cut through Uru

Toomi: Not only has he been thrown through a mountain with enough force to cause an earthquake...

Megumi: He's survived getting nuked! You see the size of that crater? Compared to War Machine himself, this looks like the explosion was over two and a half megatons of TNT.

Toomi: Of course, everything he's experienced as a superhero and in the army hasn't exactly been the best for his mental state, which has unfortunately left him with pretty drastic cases of PTSD and survivor's guilt, even sometimes feeling he's not worthy of the high-tech armor he wears.

Sachi: While Stark has adapted his suit to counter EMPs, War Machine's has no defense against it. And because he's fueled by an Arc Reactor, if he runs out of juice, he's a sitting duck in a suit of armor.

Megumi: And despite being fast, the high amount of guns on his armor does end up sacrificing a lot of speed so War Machine can fly nowhere near as fast as Iron Man ever has.

Weakness

Normal human weaknesses

No superhuman abilities when outside of his armor

PSTD

Suffers from Survivors Guilt

Sometimes questions his worth to wear the armor

Was killed by Thanos

Toomi: War Machine is not invulnerable to brunt force either. Though he survived a fight with Red Hulk, Rhodes did recently meet his end against the Mad Titan Thanos.

Sachi: And similar to Tony, he is still one hundred percent human without the suit.

Megumi: Time and time again, Rhodey's proven that Tony isn't the only armored Avenger

War Machine: I'm War Machine. My name is James Rhodes. I work with Tony.

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Sachi: Don't forget to vote, comment what you think of the fight.

Megumi: Yeah, but right now, it's time for a Death Battle!

Fight

S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier

Up in the sky, the Helicarrier hovers above the clouds.

Onboard the Helicarrier, Maria Hill and James Rhodes walks along the halls as the S.H.I.E.L.D agent says to him.

Maria: Everything seems to be in order General Rhodes. No signs of trouble, we have Stark checking out the abnormally in Iran and have sent Captain America and Black Widow to deal with the trouble in Russia.

James: Good to hear.

While James and Maria are busy chatting, right at that moment, a portal suddenly open in the middle of the room, and Cyborg steps out of the portal.

Both James and Maria turns around, started as the newcomer looks around, remarking out.

Cyborg: Strange. Did Bruce just change the Watchtower?

James: You!

Cyborg looks as James Rhodes speaks to him.

James: I don't know who you are or what you are doing here but you don't look like you come from around here

Cyborg: Look man, I also don't know who you are or what you have done to the Watchtower?

James: Watchtower? Are you one of Stane's creations?

Cyborg: Stane? I don't know who that is but you got some nerve accusing me.

James turns to Maria and he instructs her.

James: Alert the rest Maria, I'll deal with our intruder.

As Maria Hill runs off, James Rhodes began equipping his War Machine armor and he warns Cyborg.

War Machine: Last chance, stand down.

Cyborg: Not if I can help it.

War Machine: Then you leave me no choice.

Announcer: Fight!

<Cue: War by Sick Puppies>

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

War Machine shot first, firing shots of blasts at Cyborg who creates a metal shield, blocking the projectiles before firing back.

THOOM!!! THOOM!!!

War Machine flies up, dodging blast after blast before lunging towards Cyborg, slamming into him.

BAM!!!

Both armored man crashes through the helicarrier, causing the ship to shake as the two are locked in battle.

WHAM!!!

Cyborg punches War Machine across the face before firing a blast of plasma right into him.

THOOM!!!

War Machine lands back, wincing as he admits.

War Machine: Incredible. This doesn't feel like anything Stane is capable of building.

Cyborg: I got my tech from something called the Mother Box. It's what turns me into this.

War Machine brandishes a shock baton, flying up as he clashes with Cyborg.

Cyborg blocks the swings from War Machine with his hands before delivering a hard kick into War Machine's torso.

WHAM!!!

War Machine activates a sonic wave from his cannon, blasting it onto Cyborg, causing him to scream out in pain.

VREEEEEE!!!

Cyborg: ARGHHHHHH!!!

As Cyborg drops down, War Machine fires a barrage of missiles right onto Cyborg, causing a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

The explosion however, began damaging the helicarrier, causing Maria Hill to stumble.

Maria: James! What's happening.

War Machine: Uh Hill, there have been some complications. Get out of the ship.

Maria: What about you?

War Machine: I'll be fine.

As Maria escapes the Helicarrier with a parachute, War Machine turns around, his eyes widens within the helmet as he notices Cyborg stepping out of the smoke, his body undamaged.

Cyborg: Not bad. But not good enough.

War Machine: Oh you have no idea.

WHOOSH!!!

War Machine flies upwards, firing several proton blasts at Cyborg, who runs across the ground

Cyborg turns before firing several rockets at War Machine.

FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!!

War Machine swerves his body to the side, dodging one, and another, only for the third one to hit him.

BOOM!!!

War Machine: ARGHHHHH!!!

As War Machine is falling, Cyborg dashes forward, jumping up before performing a powerful drop kick.

BAM!!!

The sheer impact sends War Machine crashing through the helicarrier out into the open sky.

CRASH!!!

Outside, War Machine shakes his head, looking up before turning around, flying away.

Cyborg watches before activating his jet boosters, flying after War Machine while donning his face plate.

WHOOSH!!!

Both Armored Men flies across the sky, firing at each other.

THOOM!!! THOOM!!! THOOM!!!

War Machine turns around, firing several missiles at Cyborg.

FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!! FWOOSH!!!

Cyborg however, morphs his arms into his arm cannon before firing a powerful blast of plasma across, destroying the missile.

THOOM!!!

Cyborg lools around, finding no signs of War Machine.

Cyborg: Huh? Where he go?

War Machine: Right here

Deactivating his Chameleon mode, War Machine suddenly drops onto Cyborg, sending him tumbling down.

WHAM!!!

War Machine: Ha! That showed him.

However, right at that moment...

Click! Click! Click!

War Machine: Huh?

War Machine felt himself suddenly losing control of his suit, realization striking him as he knew he was being hacked.

Cyborg: Gotcha.

Hacking into War Machine's suit, Cyborg began pulling War Machine closer and he says.

Cyborg: It's over now. Give up.

War Machine: I didn't want to do this but...I've got no choice.

War Machine began activating his EMP, the electro-magnetic pulse began affecting Cyborg.

VROOM!!!

Cyborg: ARGHHHHH!!!

The impact of the pulse sends Cyborg tumbling down from the sky, as War Machine began rebooting his systems.

War Machine: Whew! That was a close one.

As War Machine flies up into the sky, however, right at that moment, a blast struck him in the chest close to the Arc Reactor, shooting right into him.

THOOM!!!

War Machine: ARGHHHHH!!!

The blast ends up causing War Machine to fall down from the sky, tumbling through the clouds.

Central Park

<Cue: You're Gone by Coldflame>

In the grassy open field of Central Park, both Cyborg and War Machine fall out of the sky, crashing just opposite each other.

CRASH!!!

After lying on the floor for some time, Cyborg pushes himself up, only to drop onto his knees, feeling his circuit crackling.

BZZZTTTT!!!

Cyborg runs a diagnostic, realising that he is running low of power.

The EMP attack has taken a toll on his system faster than he has anticipated.

Across him, War Machine's body is crackling with electricity and emitting smoke, apparently, faring no better than his opponent.

With the Arc Reactor damaged, War Machine felt his suit losing power dangerously fast.

Realising that in their dire state, both Cyborg and War Machine knows they have to finish this fight fast.

War Machine: Better give it my all.

War Machine then charges up a Unibeam before unleashing it onto Cyborg.

THOOM!!!

At the same time, Cyborg charges up a powerful plasma blast before firing it at War Machine.

THOOM!!!

Both beams clashes into each other, pushing against the other as both fighters are unwilling to let their opponent have the upper hand.

After clashing however, Cyborg began charging up another blast, pushing past War Machine's own Unibeam, shocking the Iron Avenger.

War Machine: What?!

War Machine exclaims out in shock as the blast struck into him, creating a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

As the explosion dies down, Cyborg steps up, looking down at the defeated War Machine and he says.

Cyborg: It's over.

War Machine: I agree. But...

At that moment, War Machine began activating his self-destruct, shocking Cyborg as he declares out.

War Machine: I know I won't make it out alive, but no way am I just let you study my suit. And besides...

War Machine smirks as he says.

War Machine: At least I get to take you with me.

Cyborg realises that there the explosion may kill innocent civilians nearby and he pulls out the Father Box, saying to War Machine.

Cyborg: Not a chance.

Pulling out a Boom Tube, Cyborg quickly opens it before grabbing onto War Machine, tossing him into the portal.

King Kai Planet

On King Kai's planet, King Kai, Bubbles and Gregory jumps back in shock as War Machine lands in front of them, cursing out.

War Machine: Ah shi....

KABOOM!!!

The War Machine suit went off in a massive explosion, destroying the tiny planet and everyone on it.

Central Park

With War Machine defeated and a possible catastrophe averted, Cyborg drops down as he activates his comn to contact Batman.

Cyborg: Bruce. I need a pickup.

KO!

<Cue: Island Song by Ashley Eriksson>

Megumi: Holy shit, never knew a fight between two men in armor would be this cool.

Toomi: In terms of pure skill, both Cyborg and War Machine have their fair share of training and skills to the point in combat skills, they are evenly matched.

Sachi: Especially since James Rhodes is trained in combat in the Military while Victor was trained by Batman and Wonder Woman. And the two are also surprisingly strong as they have clashed against planetary level opponents like Hulk and Superman.

Megumi: But unfortunately, Cyborg actually holds way more advantages than Rhodey in this fight. Mostly due to his hacking ability. I mean Cyborg can hack into any machine without the need to connect or type on anything which is useful against War Machine who unfortunately, has nothing similar in his arsenal.

Toomi: Next is their durability, while War Machine has taken blows from Red Hulk or even a nuclear warhead, Cyborg has taken attacks from even stronger opponents like Darkseid and even defeated him once in contrast to War Machine who was killed by Thanos which shows that unlike Cyborg, War Machine isn't capable of dealing with cosmic level threats.

Sachi: Which also leaves their destructive capabilities, while War Machine's self destruct has no direct measurement of it's destructive capability, Cyborg has a much higher one, having the Mother Box which grants him universal knowledge and durability. And we are not even including Cyborg One Million who can draw power from the Multiverse itself.

Megumi: Jesus, to think that Cyborg has actually so many ways to basically end the fight only to just teleport War Machine away to save the lives of many, that's a true hero move right there.

Toomi: Topping War Machine in strength, speed, durability, power and technological advantages, we can conclude that while War Machine is tough, Cyborg takes the win in this fight.

Megumi: Looks like this matchup has a clear Victor

Sachi: The winner is Cyborg

Cyborg: Booyah!

Toomi: Hey guys, thank you so much for checking out our battle in What if Battles 2.

Sachi: If you want more content like this, don't forget to add this in your library and comment if you have any idea for a fight.
