~Astird POV~

Today I woke up late. What a great way to start the day. I got up and hurriedly got showered and dressed. I packed up all my belonging and was about to run out the door. Then my mother stopped me in my tracks. 

"Morning sweetie," she said.

"Morning Mom. Did you know my alarm didn't go off this morning?" I grumbled.

"No, I just assumed you had already woken up."

"Well, I wasn't. I need to get to school." I tied my shoelaces up and mom held out a breakfast bar.

"Have a good day sweetie. I love you."

"Love you too," then I bolted out the door and towards my bus stop.

When I arrived at the bus stop, Cheri was already there. I waved and she walked over to me. 

"You're late," she stated matter of factly.

"I know. But the bus isn't here yet, so I'm early!"

"You're hopeless." The bus pulled up and we got inside and waited for the rest.

I caught a glimpse of Alex and Damien running to catch the bus. I laughed to myself, then nudged Cheri, and pointed at them. "Now they are the late ones."

When we all arrived at school, we got off the bus and walked to find our first period. Conveniently, we all had the same first block. However, we all had some classes with each other and some with no one we knew. I felt the butterflies form in my stomach. Gosh, today is gonna be interesting.
