The Reason

Every time I leave my house to go out with friends I survey the restaurant and hope to see you.
I pray I'll see your profile sitting across a booth smiling at another girl- the smirk you'd give me after I kissed you.
Maybe you're sharing a desert, instead of sharing your thoughts over texts with me.
Because this reason would make sense why you have disappeared.
I leave the house and hope I run into you so there's a reason that you're no longer interested in me.
And that the reason is not because I'm me.
