I Miss the Love

I miss the love that used to fit in our hands,
But then you grew taller and my arms are so long, are hands never relaxed at the same height.

I miss the love that used to hang on my walls,
But now the tape has dried out and the photographs flutter to the floor in the slightest gust of the overhead fan.

I miss the love that used to be wrapped in your arms,
But now it feels as if you've loosely draped your hands across my back like a blanket not an embrace.

I miss the love that used to be in your smile
Now you just look at me with a plain expression on your face.

I miss the love we used to have for each other.
