The Mad Hatter
Kill the White Rabbit
The scary sounds of the night made me shiver, my bones and teeth rattled both from cold and fright. Everything in that jungle was dim, dingy... unreal. It felt so heavy to breath, the thick and dampened air, tingled on my skin as it smelled like decomposing leaves and moss.
After walking for hours through the dense forest, I was hungry and exhausted. My stomach rumbled empty and a mix of frustration and despair overpowered me. My face banged against a dreadful reality as there were no plants to feed of, or a clear stream to quench my thirst.
"Oh God, how I hate this doomed place! Cursed be the day I ran after that stupid white rabbit that made me fall into the bottomless burrow under the big old oak tree... Stupid rabbit, stupid burrow... Stupid place! Stupid me! Why I am lost!" Tears rolled down my cheeks, mumbling with more anger than fear.
Feeling defeated, I sat on a muffin-shaped stone that solitary lied on a clear in the woods. My teeth clenched with the sardonic coincidence of finding a not edible muffin that made my stomach to protest again. Bizarre, hideous and nonsensical! It's all the flowers' fault. How I could believe them good and gentle? After spending the whole morning in the garden with them, at their request... Silly daisies! Silly and annoying! All of them, the pansies and the roses... the dandelions too. How did they dare call me a weed! You'll see when I get back to my human size!" Shoes off I massaged my tired feet and wimped, every time more hungry.
"Oh, Wait!" Suddenly I remembered the pieces of mushroom that obnoxious caterpillar gave me in the morning. I had them in my pockets all this time. It shrank me the last time, but it was good to eat. Having nothing else to lose, I took one of the pieces out of my pockets and chewed a mouthful. As it melted gradually, an explosion of flavors and textures bursted in my mouth: butterscotch, grape jam... then licorice, sweet chocolate.
As I licked my lips and fingers, I started to feel funny. Everything around me swirled, colors changing, mixing in a turmoil of light and shadows, of greens, yellows and reds. Above, the silvery moon smiled first and then laughed mischievously. The rock I sat on shook me off making me fall to the grassy floor that cracked below my feet. Terrified, I crawled back and holding myself to a tree stem I managed to stand up. My legs wobbled and I felt dizzy.
Howling and shrieking, the trees extended their skeletal branches towards me and I hustled out of that place. Engulfed by the horrid sensation of being chased and having a thousand flickering eyes stared at me, I couldn't do more that keep running. Screeches and cries and my own pulse throbbing in my ears deafened me while I raced to nowhere, unable to find the way out. Finally, I spotted a nook between two huge trees, a gap to squeeze through. Hundreds of colorful bats flew out the darkness, flapping frantically their wings above my head. My arms bled as the lower branches scratched my arms.
A ray of light altogether with a ray of hope shone when I found myself I had escaped. Still feeling dizzy, I tried to focus on the place I was now. It was a clear meadow, a little cottage painted yellow and thatched in blue straw stood in the middle. Like in my most delightful dreams, the trees around the house danced and the flowers hummed intangible melodies.
I managed to walk straight but I was tripping with every step. 'Wicked mushroom!' I thought. 'That devilish caterpillar drugged me!'
Three times I knocked on the door. "Hello, is anybody home?" The door squeaked as it opened, no one behind it. "Hello... Hello." I stepped in.
"Come in, pretty lady." A deep masculine voice answered, but it was too dark to see anyone.
My sight adjusted to the shades and the shadows, to the figures and tones and the light produced by the flames in the fireplace. Standing in the living room, there was a man, he had no short on, and on his head he wore a green tall hat. The more I looked at him, the more handsome he was. Squared jaw, inviting lips curved up in a crooked smile and eyes like sapphires reflecting the orange and yellows of the blaze. He held a tea pot and a cup to the high of his chest... his broad and fitted chest.
I froze still, only staring at him. My heart throttled rampantly and my cheeks burned, flushing red.
The man walked towards me. "Do you want some tea?" He offered me the steaming cup.
I was beyond mesmerized by his stunning looks, his presence baffled me. In the way he approached, all the details in his torso and face appeared ethereal, otherworldly striking. I didn't know if I wanted to reach the cup of tea as my fingers craved to stroke threads of his red long hair that fell lose over his wide shoulders.
I took the cup of tea and smiled. "Thank you." I whispered.
" My name is Sam. I'm the queen's hatter." The man placed the teapot over the coffee table next to him.
"I'm Alice." I sipped slowly the contents in the cup. It was a herbal tea, so sweet to taste. With every bit of tea drank, the mushroom's numbing effect and the dizziness faded away.
"Come, Alice. Let's sit on the couch. It's more comfortable there. I bet you're tired", holding my hand he guided me to the purple velvety couch. We sat, one next to the other as we conversed amiably. When I finished drinking my tea, Sam helped me clean the dry blood on my arms and the dirt on my dress with a cloth soaked in warm water and lavender. I couldn't help staring at him fixedly. His bare pectorals were so inviting to touch. 'Why doesn't he put a damned shirt on?' I thought.
Leaning closer to me, he washed my face. Our eyes locked as we faced each other, only a few inches apart. My body shook, my pulse throbbed and blood boiled in my veins.
There was no need to say more and Sam kissed me and I kissed him back with passion. It was the first time I kissed a man but it flowed in such a natural way and Geez it felt so good.
My skin tingled and parts of me itched with unsustainable pleasure as we fused our lips ardently. My hands moved all over his back and chest, lingering on his flat abdomen and below. With some novel expertise I knew precisely what I wanted from him, and what needs to be taken off to get it.
There was a burning sensation inside of my, my thighs moistened to the urge, a virginal urge.
I can't recall how or when but my blue and white dress ended on the floor and I, on top of Sam all of a sudden. Both of us were naked on the couch, embracing each other, caressing each other with lust and desire. I moaned ecstatic, to his first reach inside of me. There was first Pain, the. pleasure... Pain and pleasure... Pain, pleasure! Pain! Pleasure! Pleasure! I rocked back and forth on top of his. It was a synchronizing and cadential dance, our bodies moving in allegro carnal tunes.
The smell of sweat and lust filled the air and adrenaline pumped in my veins more than blood. It was the richest sensation ever felt, like touching the sky. I was in Wonderland!
I gasped and moaned, every time louder. Sam did too enjoying my body as I enjoyed his. My legs shook and all the muscles stiffened. It was incredible, incomparable. Heaven heaven and hell all together. Sam gripped my hips and pressed me harder against him. I closed my eyes. He smiled. I smiled too, feeling complete.
Having ended, our bodies relaxed. I left my whole existence rest over Sam's torso. It was the best way of feeling exhausted and in the same time replenished. We laid there for a moment in silence, not wanting to leave the comfort and the warmth of his skin. It was when we where about to fall asleep that the front door opened abruptly. Me and Sam jerked up shocked. Jumping off the couch I hid my nudity behind my lover's body. My eyes couldn't believe it when I saw the white rabbit standing by the door. His face severe. With the commotion, the gilded pocket clock in his hand dropped to the floor and shattered in a thousand pieces. His expression of disgust as he uttered, "What have you done Alice!"
