Dear Diary,

I have to get mum out of here because she'sgetting old and doing less work which means she's getting whipped more.  I'm afraid she can't take more of this. I was talking to Edward about it. He says it's impossible but I can't give up. For my 21st birthday he gave me a beautiful promise bracelet-too bad I have to hide it under my clothes just in case someone thinks I stoleit. I gave Edward a basket to put his pens in- I weaved it myself, one of akind. Edward is going on a trip to the city and I wouldn't see him for days.I've recently been helping him with his speech on the abolishment of slavery asa thank you for teaching me English and how to read and write - he's such asweet heart.  His trip to the city is toshow town folk the equipment used on us slaves and to raise awareness. I justhope slavery is abolished before it's too late.
