Chapter 42: The Unknown Victim.

(Eva's POV)

"Eva, Sebastian! I need to see the both of you!" Ciel called out through the quiet halls.

Sebastian and I abandoned our work in the kitchen and made our way to Ciels study.

When we reached the room, Ciel was seated at his desk, holding a letter.

We both bowed and stood before him.

"You wanted to see us, my lord?" Sebastian asked.

"Yes, it would appear that Elizabeth has scheduled a ball for tonight, here, without my consent. She has already invited the guests, so there is no denying her. I need you two to attend as guests and Anna and the other servants will handle everything. I just need the two of you to prepare everything."

We both looked at each other with excited expressions.

"Consider it done, my lord." I replied.

He nodded and motioned for us to leave. When we reached the hallway, Sebastian scooped me up bridal style.

"What are you doing Sebastian?"

He chuckled and began to walk towards the servants quarters.

"If we are going to attend the ball as quests, we shall be dressed as such my love."

I shrugged my shoulders and let him carry me away to our room.

When we arrived he sat me down on the bed and walked to the wardrobe. He pulled out a beautiful baby blue ball gown.

I stood up and walked over to him.

"Sebastian, it's gorgeous. Where did you get it?"

"It was lady Rachel's, master Ciel told me to give it to you."

I took the silky dress from his hands and held it to my body. It was absolutely stunning.

"Try it on love."

I handed the dress back to Sebastian as I undressed myself. I turned around so he could unlace the corset on my back.

I slipped off my uniform and grabbed the gown back from Sebastian.

I slipped it over my head and put my arms through the straps. I turned my back to Sebastian so he could lace it up.

When he was finished, I turned to the mirror, I awed at my reflection.

The gown reached down and swept the floor in length. It hugged every single curve I had on my body. The waist line consisted of silver sparkles and blue diamonds.

Sebastian stood behind me and moved my hair to the side.

"Sebastian what are yo-" he placed a beautiful diamond locket on my neck.

"Sebastian it's beautiful." I said with a smile.

He turned me around and cupped a hand around my cheek.

"You look stunning my love. If you are ever in trouble and I'm not around, open the locket and place a kiss on the inside. It will let me know where you are."

I looked up into his beautiful ruby eyes.

"Thank you Sebastian, they're both incredible."

He placed a soft kiss on my cold cheek.

"We should probably get things in order for the ball tonight." I said.

Sebastian nodded and turned me around. He untied the corset, and the gown fell to the floor.

Sebastian stood there, staring at my back.

"Sebastian, what's the matter?" I asked.

He placed a cold hand on the small of my back.

"Love, have you always had this marking on your lower back?" He asked.

I turned my head to the mirror and looked at my back. There sat a small black symbol.

"N-no, it hasn't."

Sebastian took a closer look.

"It would appear as if it is the same marking the young master has on his side."

I turned my head back towards Sebastian.

"That does not mean what I think it does, does it?" I asked, fearing the answer.

"I am afraid so love."

"When could this have happened Sebastian?"

He thought for a moment.

"I would imagine when you were kept at the Trancy manor, I assume that is why Ash seemed so familiar to you."

Images of the bastard angel raced through my mind.

"I need to speak with Ciel."

Sebastian nodded and helped me back into my maids uniform.

When we were finished, we headed back to Ciels study. I didn't even bother to knock.

"Eva, what is the meaning of this? I am busy." Ciel stated.

I walked up to his desk and bowed.

"I'm sorry young master, but I need to see your mark on your side."

He stood up and looked at me as if I had two heads.

"And why is that?"

"I think I may have the same mark."

He furrowed his brows and slowly lifted up the bottom of his shirt, revealing the same marking.

"T-that is the same one." I said.

Ciel pulled his shirt back down and sat in his chair.

"Sebastian, what does this mean?"

Sebastian walked over to Ciels desk and bowed.

"My lord, I believe this occurred while Eva was stowed away at the Trancy manor. She was taken by the same cult that took you."

Ciel pondered at this for a few moments.

"Did said cult have anything to do with Aunt Edith's murder?" Ciel asked.

"I would imagine so, my lord." Sebastian replied.

"I need you to look into this Sebastian, see what you can find on Adeline Fanders."

Sebastian bowed once more and left the room.

"Sit Eva, we need to discuss this."

I did as I was told and sat down in the chair in front of his desk.

"We need to know who is behind all of this, if it was Ash." Said Ciel.

I nodded my head in agreement.

"Maybe Sebastian will find something out."

"I already have love." Sebastian walked in and bowed.

How the hell does he do that?

"Alright Sebastian, what have you found out?" Ciel asked.

Sebastian walked over to Ciels desk and laid down a piece of paper.

"Mrs. Adeline Fanders was the leader of the cult. Claude Faustus, Hannah Annafellows, Ash Landers, Drocell Keinz, and Crollie Armada, were all apart of the cult, along with another accomplice."

Ciel furrowed his brows.

"And who else?" He asked.

"Madame red."
