Yawning, Cass shifted, grumble as Timothy had somehow spread over her in the night. Tails was curled up, his two tails wrapped around him comfortingly. Cass huffed, wanting to get up but also not wanting to disturb her kid. Sonic walked out of the room, going instantly to the computer without making a sound. Cass looked over, having seen him in her peripheral vision. Sonic opened up the camera system, searching for one specific hedgehog, whispering, "Please don't be roboticized...." Cass grumbled, and pushed Timothy off of her. Who just curled up and whined but was nonetheless. Cass walked over to Sonic.

"Hey, hedgehog, it's gonna be fine." She chirped quietly.

Sonic jumped, slightly startled. Seeing Cass he let out a breath he was holding, saying quietly, "Oh.... It's just you...." He then went back to searching.

"Ok, kid, let's go for a walk." Cass said.

"Where would we even go...?" Sonic turned around fully to look at the human turned sparrow.

"Wherever you want, kid."

Cass pulled Sonic by the ear. Needless to say, Sonic was not happy.

"H-Hey! Stop that!"

"Alright, squirmy." Cass let go, then sat down, on a conveniently near by log.

Sonic nurtured his ear, pouting slightly.

"Ok, kid, listen, it's alright. You are a hormone fest of what even the fuck, and heaven knows what kind of phase your in, but you'll be fine." Cass told.

"I just... don't know what to do anymore...." Sonic sighed. "I-I thought Eggman stopped with this cruel robotizing treatment, but now he's back, a-and Shadow's trapped there too...."

"Look, it's awful, but being a depressed sob isn't gonna save anyone. Marklin said it best. The only thing that is your fault is having a counter productive and depressive attitude, get up and try your hardest to help them." Cass said, she pet Sonic softly once.

Sonic let out a small purr. "I-I guess you're right...."

"Hey, three kids in I gotta be able to do something right." Cass chirped.

Sonic chuckled. "Jeez, I've been such a downer. Just like I use to criticize Shadow for back when we were rivals."

"Look, you gotta be yourself if your gonna save the world, ok? It's not worth it if you lose yourself along the way. Shadow would want you to be first and foremost." Cass said gently, she put an arm around him and embraced him lightly. "You just have to be ok. Good, great excellent, that doesn't matter, you just, have to be ok, with yourself, your surroundings, and your friends."

Sonic smiled before hugging her tightly. "Thank you so much."

"No problem, kid." Cass sighed, hugging him back.

Sonic pulled away from the hug before looking around. "We should get back in the hideout before Eggman or any of his minions find us."

"It's fine, I got this." Cass, without thought, flicked out a stiletto knife.

Sonic's eyes widened. "Woah...."

"Yeah." She flicked it back to sheathed and away in her blazer pocket.

Sonic smiled. "Glad to have ya on the team."

"Always glad to help a cause." Cass chirped.

Sonic smiled brightly as they walked back to the hideout. Once back, Cass jumped down into the hideout. Sonic smiled and jumped in behind her.

Everybody was up and functioning, Tails already running diagnostics on the equipment and Knuckles coming up with plans to get food. Cass smirked. Sonic smiled as he walked up to Tails, noogying his head. "Hey, bro! Everything working alright?"

Tails giggled. "Everything's surprisingly fine considering it's all been rotting here for a few years."

"Great! With things going like this, I'm sure we'll defeat Eggman and return everything sometime this week!" Sonic smiled.

Tails smiled as Sonic walked to Knuckles, talking about how they could possibly get food.

"Maybe I could sneak back to Angel Island and gather some berries." Knuckles suggested.

"I mean, that's great, but what about meat? We aren't gonna win if we're running solely on berries and nuts." Sonic said.

"We could always eat the small blue flying thing." Marklin chimed.

"What!?" All of the Mobians looked at him, wide-eyed.

Cream teared up. "Why would you want to eat Cheese?"

"How dare you even say anything like that!" Knuckles growled, holding the crying bunny protectively.

"Ok, I guess I'll never have an idea again then, wow." Marklin said, removing himself.

"It's okay, Cream, nobody's hurting Cheese." Knuckles said. The young rabbit nodded, holding Cheese close and sniffling slightly.

"Anyways," Sonic said nonchalantly. "We really should go a scavenge for supplies and other things. Who knows how long we'll be here."

Timothy went to raise his hand and Cass lowered it instantly. Tails just blinked before talking, "We should split into groups: Knuckles's team goes to Angel Island, Sonic's team goes to the city, and my team goes through the forest."

"Who will be with who?" Cass asked.

"I think it's obvious that the kids should stay here." Sonic said.

"No way! I can go out and help!" Charmy objected.

"Charmy, you just got over a sickness. You must stay here." Espio said calmly before looking to Sonic. "Vector and I will stay here to look over them."

"Alrighty, then what more for teams?" Marklin buzzed.

"I call not Marklin!" Sonic shouted.

"You are unbelievable...." Knuckles sighed.

"Timothy seems to know a lot about plants and such, so I'll take him to the forest with me." Tails smiled.

"I need someone who can handle their own if we run into battle on the way to my island and back." Knuckles crossed his arms. "So I'll take the sparrow."

"I guess that leaves me with you, Jasper." Sonic smiled.

"All in order to leave then?" Cass chimed. They all nodded.

"What about me? "Marklin sacked.

"Uh.... You can stay here with Vector, Espio, and the kids." Tails said.

"Are you sure that's a good idea...?" Sonic questioned.

"He can scavenge for medical suplies in this place." Cass offered.

"Yeah that works." Marklin chirped.

The others nodded in agreement before they set out: Knuckles and Cass towards Angel Island, Tails and Timothy towards the distant forest, and Sonic and Jasper towards the roboticized city.

Cass smirked as she ran with the echidna. Knuckles glanced at her as he ran, making sure she was keeping up well before facing forward.

"So how are we gonna get to the island? I don't think that I can fly, by statistics I shouldn't be able to glide but hey, who knows." Cass chirped.

"Well, I bet you can." Knuckles said simply, not knowing many bird Mobians. "Our worlds are very different."

Cass smirked, and gulped. With a small jump, suddenly, she was gliding steadily through the air. "Hey I can get used to this." She peeped as she sped up to remain at pace with the red echidna.

Knuckles smirked as he saw his island in the air, quickly jumping up and seemingly flying towards it. Cass followed swiftly, getting used to the pseudo-levitation. Soon enough, Knuckles landed on his island, not even waiting for the other to land before he started searching. Cass landed, and followed him as best she could.

"Hey, Dreads! Wait up!" Cass called.

Knuckles huffed and crossed his arms, not turning around, though he did stop. "Hurry up, then, sparrow!"

"Hey I'm not the one who A- knows this place and B- has been a magical animal all my life!" Cass sputtered as she caught up.

Knuckles rolled his eyes. "You should learn to adapt quickly to different environments, no matter what those differences are."

"You know I'm trying but sudden change to adaption is something seldom done in an instant." Cass informed. "Letting things sink in before adapting can help in the long run. Understanding is the first step to knowing."

Knuckles simply shrugged as he walked further into the forest of his island.

"What's our goal then, oh mighty red one?" Cass asked.

"Right now, it's to gather food. There are various plants that grow on my island, all editable." Knuckles said, glancing around.

"Alrighty, what's a code of identification?" Cass asked as she looked around.

Knuckles stopped and looked at the human turned sparrow, blinking. "Well, uh, there isn't really a code of identification...."

"What won't kill anyone if you eat it, what are we going to pick." Cass clarified.

Knuckles finally understood, "Well, all sorts of fruits and such grow here: grapes, raspberries, blueberries, bananas. Um, I would only watch out for Atropa belladonna...."

"Nightshade then?" Cass asked, "I'll be sure to avoid that."

Knuckles nodded, a bit confused by the word 'nightshade.'

"Alright then, let us collect?" Cass said.

Knuckles nodded as he walked further into the forest, knowing his favorite place to go for grapes. Cass followed, more so she didn't get lost forever than anything else. Knuckles glanced around the island as he walked, making sure that it really was as secure as it always was. Remembering something, he stopped. "Just a warning, I set many traps around here for trespassers, so be careful."

>:}c "Ok I'll-" Cass suddenly disappeared from behind Knuckles.

Knuckles glanced behind him, not seeing her. "Uh...." He sighed.

"Up here asshole!" Cass growled, she flicked out her knife and started to cut herself free from the rope.

Knuckles crossed his arms. "I told you to watch out, sparrow."

"Ok hidden traps aren't that easy to see!" Cass grunted as he cut herself loose. She fell to the ground with a 'oof.'

Knuckles just waited, tapping his foot impatiently, a habit he got from a certain impatient hedgehog.

Cass got the noose of her foot and stood, flicking away her knife. Seeing her done, he started to walk away yet again, really craving some grapes. Cass followed, checking for traps now. Finally, they made it to the area. Various fruits plants were around that one area, and Knuckles was quite proud of his little garden.

"How are we gonna bring any back to base?" Cass asked.

"Stay here." Knuckles said simply as he ran off. Cass waited quietly looking around. After a little while, Knuckles came back with two baskets made of leaves. He handed one to Cass. Cass nodded.

"To picking." Cass chirped.

Knuckles simply nodded before picking grapes, smiling softly. Cass went to pick a plethora of things. Knuckles made sure to pick until his basket was nearly full with different fruits. Cass had her basket almost over full. Knuckles watched, eating a grape before asking, "You need any help with carrying that?"

"No, I'll be fine." Cass informed.

Knuckles simply nodded before walking back to the edge of the island.

Meanwhile, Tails led Timothy to the forest, looking around for any robots. Timothy was looking at the plants around. Most of them were roboticized until they reached the one forest that wasn't. Tails looked to Timothy. "Do you know what kind of fruits grow on what kind of bush? And where some types of nuts are?"

"Those are Rubus idaeus, and that means Corylus should be near by." Timothy informed.

Tails eyes sparkled with interest. "Wow." He then started to look around for them.

"There!" Timothy called spotting a hazel nut tree.

Tails's eyes sparkled yet again as he flew up to the tree. He picked one off and smiled. "These are great!"

Timothy smiled as he looked at the fox. Tails started to pick them, carrying as many as he could in his arms. He then chuckled. "Maybe we should find a way to efficiently carry them."

"The branches of this tree can be used for weaving. We could make some baskets." Timothy commented.

Tails beamed. "Great idea!" He then flew to that tree, taking off some old branches. Timothy gathered some from lower on the tree and started to make a small weave for the bottom of a basket. Tails got down and helped. Timothy got a decent basket made reasonably quickly. Tails smiled as he finished his, namesake's wiggling happily. Timothy smiled and looked back up at the hazelnut tree. Tails smiled, thinking of a fun game that he and Sonic use to do. He flew up and grabbed a nut. "Catch!" He threw it down, hoping that Timothy would catch it in the basket. Timothy flinched at the nut hitting him in the chest but it landed in the basket so that worked.

"Sorry!" Tails yelled down.

"It's fine!" Timothy called back.

Tails grabbed a few more, carefully dropping them down one by one. Timothy caught them in the basket easily now that he knew what was going on. Tails smiled before throwing them down a bit faster. Timothy caught them fine, and was nonetheless. Tails smirked before throwing some multiple at a time. Timothy started to get a bit uneasy with catching them but still was fine for now. Tails giggled, remembering the fun a younger him and Sonic had with this stuff. He then threw a bit more down, seeing the basket almost full. Timothy caught them,and smiled at the foxes fun. Tails happily finished off the basket, giggling as he landed. Timothy smiled at him.

"All good now to head back or what there a larger goal?" Timothy asked.

"This is good enough for now." Tails smiled. "We should have enough to survive for a couple weeks along with the things Knuckles has on his island."

"Ok," Timothy chimed. Tails smiled as he started to walk back to the base. Timoy followed with the basket.

Meanwhile, Sonic was carefully surveying the entrance to the city, thinking of ways to sneak through and steal some actual meat. He was craving a chili dog so bad after not having one for what felt like ages, though it was only five days. Jasper looked around at the area, nervously eyeing the metal constructions. Finally, Sonic grabbed Jasper's arm before running inside and behind a building. He watched as many robots walked past, and as soon as they were gone, he pulled Jasper behind another building.

"He really did change everything." Jasper said agasped.

Sonic frowned as he nodded. "After last time, he stopped being like this.... I wonder what happened for him to do something this.... Cruel.... again."

"Who knows, but we gotta fix it. Right?" Jasper said wearily.

"Of course." Sonic nodded before a scent caught his nose.

Chili dogs....

He quickly grabbed Jasper and ran towards the scent, his eyes wide with hunger.

"Should we really be making any form of hase!" Jasper yelped.

Sonic ignored him. He just needed what that scent held. It was his favorite food; his obsession. He immediately stopped as he saw what was causing that smell.

Shadow....

Holding a plate full of chili dogs.

"Sh-Shadow...." The blue hedgehog's eyes were wide.

"This seems, not right." Jasper chilled, not feeling good about this for once.

Sonic quickly ran and, surprisingly not messing with the plate of chili dogs, kissed the other. The edgy hedgehog's eyes widened, looking both annoyed and confused. He looked as if he was going to push the other away, but a twitch of his ear caused him to not do that. Instead, he just stood still until Sonic pulled away.

"Y-You're alive!" He smiled happily.

Jasper looked on, confused, and unsettled. Sonic happily led Shadow back to Jasper, eyes seeming to glow with happiness. "Can you believe it, Jasper?"

"No, not really." Jasper said awkwardly. Sonic seemed to ignore it as Shadow stared at the otter, red eyes burning with... something.

"Well, we better get back, yes, who knows how long we should stay here." Jasper said quickly.

Sonic nodded. "Of course."

He led Shadow, who was still holding the plate of chili dogs, away from the city, gesturing for Jasper to follow. Jasper followed wearily. Shadow still said nothing as they walked away from the city. Jasper was quiet on the walk.

Finally, everyone made it back to the base, Sonic hopping excitedly as they were the last to enter. "He's alive!"

Needless to say, the other Mobians were shocked.

"How did he escape!?" Tails asked, eyes wide.

"Does it really matter?" Sonic smiled. "He's alive and safe."

Shadow glanced around at everyone, still quiet with this strange look in his eyes as his ear kept twitching.

Timothy turned his had and looked at Shadow, eyeing him with a blank look. Shadow caught his staring and stared right back, eyes blazing. Timothy shot his glance to the floor. Near his feet, avoiding the eye contact. Shadow was soon distracted by Sonic hugging him tightly. He looked almost as if he'd hurt the other, but with a few more twitches of his ear, he was back to blankly staring. Cass put her arm around Timothy carefully when she noticed his sudden tense up and adverson.

"Anyways," Tails said, sort of uncomfortable with Shadow's blank stare. "Did everyone get what they were suppose to?"

"We did." Cass chirped.

"I found a half empty first aid kit and some Surgical sutures." Marklin said dully.

"Great." Tails smiled. "We can survive for a while until we defeat Eggman!"

"It's Robotnick." Shadow had said his first words since Sonic and Jasper found him, and his voice seemed rough and scratched up.

"You don't sound ok, Reflection, are you ok?" Cass asked

"My name is Shadow." The hedgehog growled out, though it still didn't sound normal. "And I'm fine."

"Alright, Shadow." Cass mumbled. Shadow kept his glare towards her.

"Shads, are you alright?" Sonic asked, worried.

Shadow's eye twitched at the nickname. "I'm fine, Faker." He spat before erupting into a coughing fit. Marklin went to the hedgehog.

"You don't sound ok, at all, do you need to be looked over-" Marklin listed.

Shadow growled in between coughing. "Get away from me, cat!" He then moved to push the other away.

"Ok." Marklin back up a small bit. Shadow snarled at him before his ear twitched again and he returned to that blank stare. Marklin took the moment to go back to Jasper.

Sonic looked at his boyfriend, concerned. "Shads?"

"Stop with that stupid nickname." Shadow coughed out. Sonic's ears flattened against his head as he watched Shadow walk into the other room.

"I do not think he's ok, kid." Cass chimed.

Sonic looked to Cass. "Wh-What's wrong with him...? Did Eggman hurt him!?"

"If he'd let someone look at him, we'd know." Cass informed.

"Maybe if he was asleep...." Tails trailed off, glancing around to make sure that Shadow wasn't listening. "Then we can see what's going on, right?"

"Are you sure that'd be wise?" Jasper informed.

"I know...." Tails sighed. "I'm just really worried. What if it's actually something serious?" He glanced to Sonic, who had seemed to activate panic mode.

"You could talk to him?" Jasper said slowly.

"Of course! Shads would tell me if something's wrong." Sonic said, ears perking up as he made his way towards where Shadow went.

"When we found him, he was just, there, with a plate of chili dogs." Jasper informed the others.

"That's strange...." Tails said, glancing towards where the two hedgehog's were.

It was only a few minutes later, Sonic walked out, a red mark on his cheek.

"What happened?" Knuckles asked.

"I asked him what was wrong, and he said nothing." Sonic said. "Then I tried to comfort him, and he slapped me...."

"He, did, WHAT!" Cass burst, Timothy and Marklin latched to her, trying to hold her still as she furyed up.

Sonic held his hands out, as if he were calming a beast. "Hey, calm down. I'm fine." he then looked towards the other room. "But I don't think Shadow is...."

"NOT FINE! NoT FiNe!!!!" Cass screamed as she struggled against her two children.

Sonic looked slightly scared, but nonetheless, chuckles. "I've had worse, honestly. Just calm down, please."

"HE- HIT- YOU!!!!" Cass bellowed, Marklin and Timothy struggled to hang on.

"It's fine." Sonic said, trying to be calm. "I've almost dies once, fallen into space a couple times, hit the ground when falling from the sky more times than I can count, and much more. A little slap is fine. I'm fine."

"YOUR FINE! HE STRUCK YOU AND YOU- MARZ TIMMY GET OFF!!!!" She yelled as she struggled.

Sonic's ears flattened against his head. "Please calm down, Cass; we need to sort this out calmly."

"CALM!"

"Mama Stop and calm before you get dizzy, Please?" Timothy said as he griped tighter, Cass snorted and finally calmed.

Sonic smiled, glad that things were calm. "Okay, now we should probably try to figure out what's wrong with Shadow."

"I can try to look him over." Marklin chirped.

Sonic simply nodded. "Okay."

Marklin went to Shadow, "Hey, I was asked to look you over, ok?" Marklin chirped.

Shadow growled as he moved away from the other. "I'm perfectly fine, so just go away."

"That is not what I heard, now, I'm checking you over." Marklin hissed.

Shadow moved further away. "No you aren't."

"Yes I am, or you can fight me." Marklin caterwauled.

Shadow held his fists up. "Try me."

Marklin snorted and stepped towards him. Shadow's ears went back as he backed away.

"Oh come on you fightly little hedgehog!" Marklin sneered, leaping towards him.

Shadow formed a chaos attack in his hand as he dodged. "Stay back!"

"Come on you stubborn ass!" Marklin hissed, lunging at Shadow again. Shadow tried to dodge again, but was caught. He growled at the cat. Marklin pinned him down as quick as he could.

"I just wanna help!" Marklin seethed.

Shadow bared his teeth as he struggled underneath the other. "This isn't helping! I don't need help!"

"Well you being stubborn and so this is the only way I can offer my help!" Marklin hissed.

"This isn't helping!" Shadow growled. "Get off me!"

"Not until you let me help you." Marklin snapped.

"What the fuck are you even gonna do to me!?" Shadow snapped back.

"Give you a full check up!" Marklin barked.

Shadow growled. "Will you leave me alone if I go along with it!?"

"Yes!" Marklin yelled.

Shadow reluctantly stopped struggling. "Make it quick then. There's nothing wrong with me."

Marklin snorted and stood. "Stand." He growled. Shadow stood and crossed his arms. Marklin gently looked over Shadow and prodded and poked at him. Shadow glared at him, growling at some pokes.

Marklin snorted, "Open you mouth." He grunted.

Shadow snarled before sighing and opening his mouth. Marklin checked his mouth over. "Are you ok, you have no moisture on your tongue, or anywhere for that matter, it's a miracle your gums look healthy."

"I'm fine." Shadow glared at him. "I'm the ultimate lifeform, of course I'm fine."

"No, your gums need your spit glands to work, you shouldn't be so, presten, like you've been salted." Marklin chimed.

Shadow felt his ears flatten against his head as he coughed a little bit, not saying anything.

"And mister ultimate, that cough isn't good at all." Marklin placed a hand on Shadow's chest. "Breath deeply."

Shadow seemed reluctant, but did as told. Marklin frown. "Your breathing is almost undetectable- No, you need rest and to be looked over carefully, there is something really wrong with you."

"No, really. I fi-" he started coughing again. Marklin down as he felt the cough.

"No, you are not, you need to lay down, and to be monitored closely." Marklin grabbed Shadow by the hands and pulled him to the other room. "Hey guys, this guy needs to have an eye kept on him, he's, not ok, at all."

Sonic's slightly hopeful look turned into great concern. "Wh-What's wrong?"

"I don't know but he's not healthy." Marklin informed.

Sonic's ears flattened against his head as he looked to Shadow. "I can watch him."

"Alright, I want him drinking as much water as he can." Marklin informed, letting go of the hedgehog.

Sonic nodded as he walked to Shadow. Shadow looked away from the other, seeming slightly confused. Sonic reached for the others hand, holding it gently. Shadow looked to him as Sonic smiled gently. "Don't worry, Shadow. Everything's gonna be alright."

He led Shadow out to get some water, the other just silently going along with it.

"There is something really really wrong with him." Marklin quickly shot.

"I wonder what happened." Tails wondered, concerned.

"He was trapped with Eggman for an entire night." Knuckles crossed his arms.

"He was barely breathing, and he has almost no moisture in him." Marklin detailed.

"What could've happened to cause that?" Tails searched his brain, trying to figure the answer out. "It's so strange...."

"It's like, none of his glands, or anything for that matter, were working." Marklin sighed.

"It's almost like...." Tails's eyes widened. "He couldn't have...."

"What?" Knuckles asked.

"What if Eggman tried to roboticize him? With Shadow already basically a robot, it might've affected him differently." Tails theorized.

"That makes sense, if the properties of his inner workers had a large interference he could have been reprogramed for who knows what." Timothy piped in.

"Do you think Eggman planned to do something with him?" Knuckles asked.

"Maybe." Cass mumbled, "Maybe the processed only affected his internals, since he is already, and rewired his codes for his own use."

"I don't think we should trust him around Sonic." Knuckles said, already making his way to the exit.

"That seems wise, Sonic is, oblivious." Jasper commented.

Tails nodded as he followed Knuckles. "Come on, before something happens!"

"Something is gonna happen, just watch." Cass sneered following.

Knuckles and Tails got out of the hideout and saw Shadow and Sonic sitting in silence. Shadow looked back to them, a murderous look in his eyes. Cass popped up with them, looking unamused at Shadow. Sonic looked back and smiled.

"Hey, guys! Everything alright?"

"We need to talk to you, kid." Cass called.

"What is it?" Sonic tilted his head in curiosity.

"Could you come with us?" Cass asked.

"Uh.... Sure." Sonic simply shrugged as he stood up. Knuckles gestured that he'd stay with Shadow to make sure nothing happened. Cass lead Sonic away from Shadow's earshot, well, as well as she could.

Sonic looked at her questionably. "What's up?"

"We think Shadow was somewhat roboticized by Eggham." Cass informed

"What? But he looks just like he use to." Sonic shook his head in denial.

"Well, he is already partially a robot, so he could have just been reprogrammed, and the robotization process would do that." Cass told gently.

Sonic's eyes widened as he stared at Cass. "Wha...? So you think Eggman is controlling him or something?"

"In a matter of terms, yes." Cass sighed.

Sonic looked back where Shadow was, still shocked. "But.... He.... I...." He was lost for words.

"Look, maybe we can help him, but he was reprogramed, unless we have the original program, we can't do much unless he has save states." Cass told.

Sonic's ears flattened against his head. "Nobody really knows about that kind of stuff.... He was made on the space colony ARK, and I think the government took all of his files when they shut the project down and tried to hide it from anyone...."

"If anything we can always try the good old, hit him really hard on the head and pray." Cass shot.

"But that would hurt him...." Sonic said. "He's already hurt enough...."

"That's not him, kid, anyways, we need to find a way to take care of this quick, he might be spying on us."

Sonic looked to Cass, some strange type of fear hidden in his eyes. "What do you think we should do, then?"

"We could, try and- umm, i don't know. We could take him somewhere, or see if we could de-roboticize him." Cass offered.

Sonic looked down before actually coming up with something. "What if we bring him to the ARK? Maybe there actually is something there that could help...."

"That might, and if we could get something working, like a computer, that'd be better." Cass chirped.

Sonic nodded. "I'll have to get a chaos emerald.... That way we could teleport to the ARK. I don't really know about getting a computer to work though...."

"Whatever we can get will be better than nothing, kid." Cass sighed.

Sonic sighed and nodded as he turned to walk back to Shadow. "We should probably check on Shadow and everyone else...."

"Yeah." Cass chimed.

Sonic found that nothing had changed.

Wait, no.

That's definitely change.

Shadow and Knuckles looked almost as if they were going to rip each other apart.

"Alright, let's check on the other's then?" Cass said quickly. Sonic nodded just as quick. Cass quickly made her way back into the base. Sonic followed behind.

"Well, we have something, we have to do." Cass twittered.

"Hopefully, we'll be able to help him...." Sonic mumbled under his breath.

"What are we going to do?" Tails questioned.

"We are going to go to ARK, to find what we can."

"Good idea." Tails said. "We just need an emerald."

"I have an emerald hidden back in Angel Island." Knuckles said. "I hid it when Eggman took over so he couldn't gain any more power than he already had."

"Alright, then let's get ready then?" Jasper chimed.

The mobians nodded as Shadow stared in confusion. He watched as the others packed up supplies such as food, water, and sleeping bags just in case.Soon, Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Marklin, Cass, Tails, and Timothy were on their way back to Angel Island. Sonic made sure to keep an eye on Shadow the entire time. When they finally got atop the island (with much displeasure from Marklin, I would assume), they stopped for some refreshments.

"So where is the emerald, Knuckles?" Sonic asked his friend.

"Just a little past the Master Emerald's alter." Knuckles nodded in the direction.

"Let's go then." Cass cheeped.

They all nodded and followed Knuckles, walking past many ancient temples and houses, all basically in ruins.

"Was this place affected by a previous attack from Eggman?" Timothy asked as he looked around the ruins in the vicinity.

"No...." Knuckles looked down as he continued walking. "Long ago, my kind was wiped out.... These buildings have been withered and Eggman's attacks over the years haven't really helped it...."

"Ahh, ok then." Timothy peeped.

They continued walking before Knuckles stopped at a specific pile of ruin. He then lifted a huge piece up before grabbing a brown bag, setting the piece of rubble down where it was before.

"So, we use this emerald thing to take us to space?" Marklin asked.

Sonic nodded. "The chaos emeralds can be used to transport you anywhere within this universe." Knuckles handed him the emerald. He smiled as he closed his eyes, holding it close. "Let's see if this'll work! I haven't done this since we first met Shadow!"

"Oh joy." Marklin sneered.

Sonic took a deep breath, his quills seeming to rise with the energy. "Chaos.... Control!"

They all vanished in a flash of light.

They all looked around once in the strange new place. Shadow seemed frozen as he looked around. Sonic just simply smiled before walking towards a random room. "There has to be something here...."

Cass looked over to paneling on the wall. "I bet we can get some form of power back if we poke around in the cables a bit."

"You could also kill us if you do the wrong thing." Shadow crossed his arms.

"Well, where either dead by explosion or dead by Eggham, so, really, who cares." Cass chirped.

"It's Robotnik." Shadow growled.

"Eggham, Robo-tick, same things right?" Cass beamed, she walked over the the panel, looking over the writing on it.

"Can you believe that they made this over 50 years ago?" Tails stared in awe.

"Of course I can." Shadow smirked. "The professor was a brilliant mind."

"Well there is heavy use of asbestos in the paneling over there." Timothy commented. "Thats a good indicator."

Tails nodded in agreement. "This is where some of the biggest experiments ever in science and engineering happened!"

"In space, because they could?" Cass chirped peeling a panel off the wall to look at internals.

"Well, the government wanted to hide most of these...." Tails said. "Plus, Professor Gerald wanted to go up here so he wasn't bombarded by the things that happen on Möbius."

"Not to mention so he could save Maria...." Shadow trailed off absentmindedly, seeming more so himself.

"Reasonable, I'd like to be I space doing research." Cass told as she started to dig in the wires.

"Your research is on space." Timothy added.

"And, it'd be nice to get a feel first hand." Cass informed, she pulled out two wires and connected them, with a spark some lights turned on.

Sonic smiled to Cass and did his signature thumbs up. "Good job! Now let's see if there's something that could help us."

"So what, like supplies and stuff?" Jasper asked.

Sonic nodded. "Yeah, and if you find any weird documents, give them to me."

"Ok." Jasper said.

And with that, they all went to search. Cass found a computer, and started to mess with it, Timothy watched with a small smirk. Sonic took Shadow into another room, searching around for anything useful. Shadow's ears went back as he let out a small growl. Knuckles followed them just in case.

Cass dug into the computer via a panel she took off. Tails watched silently, waiting to see if she'd need help. Cass, poking around in the wires, got it powered up. Tails smiled as he walked up to stand beside her.

"Do you even know how to run this thing?" Timothy asked quickly, Cass snorted and looked it over.

"It's only older than me, give me a second." she chittered.

Meanwhile, Sonic drug Shadow into room after room, searching for anything. It mostly came up bare. Knuckles made sure he was always nearby just in case Shadow attacked.

"Jeez, there's basically nothing here." Sonic groaned.

"What did you expect?" Shadow crossed his arms. "This place was raided over 50 years ago and wiped clean by the government."

"Yeah, but you'd think that at least something would be left behind."

They made their way into another room, this one actually having stuff in it. It was a bedroom with blue, dusty sheets on the bed and a desk with various items including a brush, some old porcelain dolls, and an old picture of a girl, a hedgehog, and an old professor. Sonic decided to not say anything to the moody hedgehog eyeing the room with deep sadness.

"Hey I got something!" Cass yelled as she filed through remaining files. The group of three quickly went back.

"What did you find?" Knuckles asked.

"They look like blue prints, but for some lizard mammal specimen." Cass told as she looked over the file.

"The biolizard." Tails clarified for her. "That was the prototype of the ultimate lifeform before Shadow."

"It doesn't look like a lizard thats for sure." Cass mumbled. Shadow huffed, deciding that he wasn't going to bother conversating.

"It's surprising that they left this behind." Tails said.

"Who knows, maybe there are things they wanted someone to find." Timothy chimed.

"Well, that does sound like G.U.N." Sonic said.

"But what could that even mean?" Tails questioned, staring at the blueprints. "Why would they leave these specific blueprints here though?"

"Maybe because the biolizard didn't work as well as Shadow did?" Sonic suggested, shrugging slightly.

"Anyways, I've found a whole cache of files with biotic blueprints." Cass said, filing threw the strange blueprints. They all looked to her.

"Anything useful?" Knuckles asked.

"I keep finding these pseudo-Hedgehogs, like- like- the black one." Cass said as she opened one file.

"Prototypes maybe?" Tails suggested.

"They all seem the same." Cass chimed.

Shadow stared at it, almost interested. Tails spoke up again. "Are there any notes or anything with these files?"

"Some of it, but nothing complete, bad handwriting to boot." Cass told, Marklin peeked over her shoulder.

"You think that is bad handwriting?" Marklin scoffed.

"Do you think it's anything important?" Shadow questioned.

"Who knows, all it says is some chaos stuff." Marklin chimed, "Concentration levels and otherwise."

Shadow's interest started to peek as he wondered what they could be. "The professor never showed me any of this...."

"Just looks like some robot stuff with goo on it." Marklin informed.

"Goo?" Tails questioned.

"I don't know I'm looking at something I've never seen before, green goo, who knows." Marklin sneered.

Tails tilted his head curiously. "Green? Can I see it?"

"Yeah sure." Marklin snipped, taking a step back. Tails took his place and looked at the screen, examining the slightly familiar substance. He looked back to Shadow, suddenly remembering where he's seen it.

"It's chaos!" he declared. "Liquid chaos."

"How do you solidify thought?" Timothy asked.

"Professor Gerald must've somehow found a way." Tails said.

"He's Egghead's grandfather, of course he finds ways to do strange things." Sonic said simply.

"Well anyways, we could find the process somewhere and that could alleviate some problems." Cass said as she looked through more files. The others nodded as Shadow looked slightly confused by the situation. "Well, maybe it's this file, it's pretty corrupted though." Cass mumbled opening a new file.

"Hopefully G.U.N. didn't take that file with them...." Tails said.

"Well, it says there is a machine that does that, so if we could find it, we could deal with this all." Cass mumbled.

"I bet Shads knows what it looks like, right buddy?" Sonic elbowed the other hedgehog gently.

Shadow simply growled. "I told you to stop with that name." he then sighed. "If it will get us off the ARK, then yes, I do know what it looks like."

"Well then, let's get going." Jasper said quickly. The others nodded and they all separated to search various sections, after Shadow gave them a brief description of the machine.

"Is it this?" Jasper asked finding an odd machine.

Shadow glanced at it, simply nodding.

"Well, let's get it running then!" Cass chimed, she walked over and took off a panel from the large metal invention.

"Are you sure you of all people should do any electrical? You used to burn out the fuse box twice a week." Marklin growled.

"You know any better?" Cass asked digging at wires.

"Move." Marklin sighed, he knelt down and started to sort thru the wires himself. They all quietly waited as Marklin worked on it, Shadow still wondering what they were even doing this for. Marklin yelped and the machine fired up, he crawled back out of it, dusty and gross.

"Great job!" Sonic smiled, giving him a thumbs up.

"Yeech," Marklin sighed as he stood, he tried to wipe the gross off but failed.

"It's just a little dust and oil, calm down." Knuckles rolled his eyes.

"It's gonna stain everything." Marklin hissed, he fumed and crossed his arms. The Mobians just shrugged, not really knowing the pain of stains.

"Well let's get scienceing shall we!" Cass chirped, rubbing her hands together as her eyes lit up.

Tails smiled brightly. "Yeah!"

"Well, lets see, we have to set the output to 50% and get it rolling." Cass chimed, remembering what the file said. Tails did as Cass said.

The machine wheezed and sputtered, but eventually started to output the green goo into a reservoir.

"Why are we even doing this?" Shadow asked, crossing his arms.

"Because, power is needed to help our cause." Cass peeped. "Here eat some." Cass said, scooping up a glob and and shoving it in Shadows face. Shadow's ears went back as he pushed the sparrow away, wiping some off. He glared at her, coughing a bit as he accidently did intake a small bit. Cass smiled a small bit. Shadow found himself on his knees as his coughing ended. He looked at everyone, eyes sincere.

His eyes stayed on the blue blur himself. "Sonic...."

"You okay, Shads?" Sonic smiled gently, helping him up.

"I... think so...." Shadow said. "The doctor did something, a-and I couldn't really control myself.... I'm sorry for any and all inconvenience I've caused any of you."

"Hey, it's okay, Shadow." Sonic smiled, wrapping an arm around him.

"So, you feel fine then?" Cass asked shaking off her hand.

Shadow simply nodded. "Yes.... Thank you so much for helping."

"Ok." Cass peeped.

"We should get back though." Shadow commented. "Eggman knows we're gone and where our hideout is."

"Yeah, and there is not much in space to help us save a planet." Marklin snapped.

"Jeez, you're snappy today." Sonic said before taking out a chaos emerald and shouting, "Chaos control!"

They vanished in a flash of light, appearing back on Mobius.

"Hey, you're not the one covered in space goo from a century ago." Marklin seethed.

Sonic simply shrugged. "You should lighten up a bit, ya know? We're one step closer to getting you and your family home."

Marklin shrugged. Sonic smiled as he wrapped an arm around Shadow, leading the way to their hideout. The group followed calmly. Shadow smiled, actually feeling happy despite the situation.

Soon enough, they all made it back, hoping that nothing had happened to the nice family and young bunny. They all made their way into the base as fast as possible.

Sonic was the first to enter, his heart beating quickly from the possibilities. He felt himself drop to his knees as he saw the wrecked base, but quickly sighed in relief when he saw the adults and Cream. Vector and Espio had definitely fought, their bodies being covered in bruises and scratches.

"What happened?" Jasper asked.

"Robots." Vector answered. "Tons of 'em. Esp and I fought them off, but...."

"They... They took Charmy...." Espio looked down, tears in his eyes. Vector pulled him into a hug.

Cass fluffled up, "This is all gone to far!" Cass hissed out passionately, tensing completely.

Shadow's eyes widened. "I... It's all my fault...."

"Yeah, it is!" She growled.

Shadow's ears flattened to his head as he looked down. Sonic was quick to wrap his arm around his boyfriend and console him. "It wasn't your fault that Eggman took control of you."

"What ever fault it is, we are stopping all of this now." Cass went to leave. "Follow if you want, but it might get violent."

Sonic quickly nodded, ready to fight. Vector and Espio quickly rose, but was soon stopped by Knuckles. "You two are too damaged to go out."

"I don't care!" Espio growled. "I want him back!"

"He's healthy enough." Marklin said, joining his aunt.

Espio nodded in agreement, quickly maneuvering around the echidna and joining the sparrow and the cat.

Timothy went to stand to join. "No." Cass spat at him, Jasper grabbed Timothy's shoulders.

"Well, some of us should stay back, and, um, look after the base, and, umm, the kid, maybe fix this place a bit. They, would, um, never expect us to stay so if things don't work out, you know." Jasper said quickly.

"Fine, stay here." Shadow rolled his eyes, walking with Sonic to the growing group. Knuckles and Vector followed behind.

"I'll stay here and assist from the cameras." Tails said.

"If everything is accounted for, let's roll." Cass sneered, she started to run off to the direction of station square. The others nodded and quickly followed her out. Once in Station square, with Marklin still catching up, Cass stanced up.

"HEY EGG HAM, YOU PIECE OF SHIT, GET OUT HERE AND FIGHT US LIKE A REAL MAN, YOU MUTTERSÖHNCHEN!" Cass screamed out, she pulled out her knife and flicked it out. "I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME!"

"So much for any kind of stealth attack...." Shadow mumbled.

A large pack of robots quickly surrounded them with Eggman hovering in his eggmobile above them.

"Hey! You piece of shit! What has any of these things done to you, HUH BUB!" Cass took a few steps towards the man, ignoring the robot. "I'M GONNA GIVE YOU ONE CHANCE TO BACK OFF OF THIS PLACE."

Eggman crossed his arms, looking at the sparrow with disinterest. "I've spent a long time trying to take over this world, and I'm not letting anyone take that away from me! Shadow! Grab her!"

Shadow blinked before glaring at the egg shaped man. "I am not your puppet!"

"Yeah!" Sonic shouted, wrapping an arm around Shadow. "You can't control him anymore, Egghead!"

"Faker...." Shadow growled lowly in a whisper. "I can fight my own battles."

"So you're giving up your chance? Oh well."

Cass bolted forwards and jumped up to the egg mobile, gripping on tight she climbed it to her level, taking a swing at the man with her stiletto knife. Eggman moved away in time, but that didn't save his mustache. Cass sneered and took a left hook at him.

"You lousy piece of crap." Cass spat.

Sonic's eyes widened. "Woah! That's breaking the can't harm Eggman rule of writing!"

Eggman winced in pain before spinning his egg mobile around to throw Cass off and shouting, "Robots! Attack!"

All at once the robots came closer to the group, attack with the various weapons they had. Sonic and Shadow acted quickly, spin dashing their way through most of them. Knuckles, Vector, and Espio all quickly started fighting them off. Cass stood from where she was throw.

With loud panting and stress, Marklin finally caught up, just in time to help his aunt up. Cass shoved him off.

"And the beast is out." Shadow said, knowing from experience.

Cass walked up to one of the robots, with one fist slammed down on it, it fitz out of life. Shadow finally got bored of spin dashing and pulled out his gun, aiming and shooting at many of the robots. Cass smirked, and started to join the trashing of robots, trying to get back to Eggman. Sonic noticed what Cass was trying to do, and quickly moved to do the same. As cass got closer she started to shake lightly, and right in front of the Eggmobile, she almost snapped, lunged up and digging her arm into the machine quickly, she ripped out some of its internals. The Eggmobile ejected the egg shaped man as it caught on fire. Eggman landed on the ground with a grunt.

Cass stood over the large man, and smirked. "Any last reservations, Dr. Robotnik?" She chuckled a small bit. Sonic's eyes widened as he stood behind her, body shaking slightly in inner turmoil. Eggman shook glancing between the sparrow and the hedgehog. Sonic's shaking eyes stayed on the scientist, not knowing what the sparrow would do.

Finally, Eggman held up his hands in surrender.

"Heh," Cass' smirk turned to a smile. "Now, you better fix this poor place up, or at least the nice people you have hurt, and if you don't trust me, you would have wished you had."

Eggman quickly nodded. "Yes of course." He pulled out a set of keys and a controller, throwing it to Sonic, who caught it without hesitation. "I'm sure your fox friend knows how to work my roboticizer."

"'Course he does." Sonic grinned, pretending that he wasn't scared for his enemy's life.

Eggman then grinned, pressing a button on his wrist. Suddenly, another eggmobile was flying towards them with a robot in the shape of an orb and another robot shaped like a cube driving it. Eggman quickly drove off in it, shouting, "So long, suckers!"

"Well, I guess we saved the world?" Marklin shrugged, Cass patted his head gently.

"For now, but he and many more like him will always be around every world to stop peace at every turn." She sighed.

"At least my team and I can help protect our world from those people." Sonic said.

"Alright, can we start deroboticizing people now, my mouth is still abnormally dry," Shadow coughed a bit.

"We better get back to base then." Cass started her way back to the base, now holding Marklin's arm to help him along. The others nodded and followed them back.

At the base, Tails greeted Sonic with a big hug. "You guys did it!"

"Sure did, little buddy." Sonic chuckled, ruffling the young one's head. Tails giggled in response.

"Congrats on not being dead!" Timmy squealed, he ran up and hugged his mom.

Sonic smiled and handed Tails the deroboticizer controller. Tails took it saying, "We can save everyone now! Let's get to the roboticizer!"

Shadow, not wanting to lose any time, took out a chaos emerald and shouted "Chaos Control" and sending them all to the deroboticizer. They all looked around at the machine, still warm from its previous action. Vector and Espio felt their hearts stop, knowing what it had previously done.

"He has to be around here...." Espio trailed off. Vector quickly picked up his chameleon amigo and ran out, searching for the young bee that they raised together.

Meanwhile, Tails fixed up the machine and had Shadow get in it. He crossed his fingers and pressed the button, deroboticizing the hedgehog successfully. Sonic smiled brightly and hugged him, glad that nothing bad happened.

"Alright, Sonic, get everyone here so we can deroboticize them too." Tails said, and Sonic nodded, quickly doing as told.

And so, everyone got deroboticized.

Tails then turned to the human turned Mobians. "My machine should still be at my workshop. We can get you all home."

"That would be nice, Tails." Cass chirped, smiling at him sweetly.

Tails smiled brightly and led them all to his workshop, which was mostly in shambles, but sure enough by plot convenience, the invention they needed was still in working condition. "Alright, so just stand right where that x on the floor is."

The group did so, and started to say their goodbyes.

"Hey, maybe you guys can come visit sometime." Sonic winked and chuckled. Shadow rolled his eyes at his boyfriend.

"Heh heh, yeah, maybe." Marklin sighed, Jasper elbowed him.

"We will always remember, whatever good times we had." Jasper called.

"Bye!" Timothy peeped.

"Farewell!" Cass said finally.

"Bye!" Tails smiled before pressing the button and the human turned Mobians went home.

And thus concludes this weird atrocity.
