Chapter 1 : I'm fine
It's been 12 years since Emily's mom died. The tragic incident happened in the Hampton Hotel. Her father never forget the moment he saw his wife burn into ashes. Over the years he couldn't take the pain anymore and thought the alcohol would solve his problem. Soon he became an alcoholic, but he was never abusive to Emily, his only child. Emily would come home everyday seeing her father either asleep or watching a football game. No matter what the case was, she would go up to him, say hello, and give him a kiss on the cheek.
But on one special day Emily went to school looking very upset. Since Emily was quite popular, everyone noticed her but never asked if she was okay. In first period she didn't pay attention in class. All she did was doodle on her table a building and two girls. During second period she gets a note from her best friend Crystal, also known as CC, saying...
" Are you okay? You're normally not like this. ~CC "
Emily doesn't write back, she was way too upset. She passes the note back Crystal, and asked to excuse herself to go to the bathroom. Crystal starts to get suspicious and texts Belle, Anna, and Andrew.

When Emily came back she looked back at Crystal and wrote on a piece of paper " I'm fine" and a smiley face. Andrew and Emily met each other in third period.
"Emily, you need to see a consular about this problem you have. You're making all of us worry." Andrew said.
And before Emily could speak he lead her to the consular's office. He patiently waited outside for her, while Emily took a seat. The consular looked at Emily's eyes and she could tell she was having a bad day.
"Do you know what day today is?" said the consular, "It's the Celebration of Happiness! Be happy and let out a smile to bring you good luck."
Emily bursted into tears, remembering how her mother used to say.
