"Magic"
"Raine- you- I...YOU CANT TELL ANYONE!" Eda whisper-shouted, putting her hands on Raine's chest.
Her heart was pounding, the only person who knew she was a witch was Camila and that took months of waiting and courage for eda. She didn't know what would happen if someone else knew. What if raine really was just using her? What if all the affection was to make her let her guard down? She didn't know, nor did she want to. She just hoped that listening to her gut instead of her head would work out this time.
"Please keep it a secret" she whispered so quietly that raine hardly heard her.
"Calamity," raine said softly, holding her close. "Your secret is safe with me"
They quickly kissed her nose.
She sighed, one of content and relief. She then rested her head on Raine's shoulder, then realized that it was Raine and quickly stepped back. She blushed as raine chuckled. They wrapped their arms around her body.
"I'm at your service remember? Do what you want" raine smiled.
Eda breathed out for a second before grabbing their hand. She started to walking down the hall with them by her side. She didn't understand why she liked it so much. Eventually, they made it to the school gates. Eda glanced at raine- who was looking straight ahead- and she smiled.
"I can feel you staring" raine said suddenly, their voice light and airy.
They looked at her and smiled. Eda felt heat rise to her cheeks.
"Oh, uh..." She stuttered.
"God your adorable when you do that" they laughed, their laugh making eda smile.
"I'm not adorable!" She exclaimed in a way that made raine think she was even cuter.
"Yes you are! Look at you!" They teased.
"Shut. Up!" Eda said, blushing twice as much as what she already was.
"So you agree!" They continued to tease her.
"No!"
"I can shut you up with the flick of my wrist remember!?" Eda warned, which successfully shut them up.
She smirked, and continued to walk.
"You wouldn't actually do that would you?" They asked nervously
"we'll see" Eda smirked.
The nervousness in raines voice amused her way more than it should. she didn't feel bad about it though. She walked across the street and laughed when raine followed her like a lost dog. It was fucking cute. They both walked down the street for a while. Eventually they ended up at a small park near the centre of the city.
Eda hadn't been to this place since she left the place she once called home. But that was in the dead of night. In the middle of the park was a small pond with ducks swimming in the water. Different flowers bloomed from the muddy bank on the pond. One of the flower species was a sunflower, edas favourite flower. Raine quietly picked one up and handed it to her.
"una flor soleada para una niña hermosa y soleada." Raine smiled.
"Uh...thanks?" Eda said uncertainly, gently taking the sunflower from Raine.
"You have no idea what I just said, do you?" Raine smiled.
"Not a clue, if you speak a different language make sure it's one I know" eda smiled, Raine taking the flower and putting it in her hair.
"What languages do you know?" Raine asked softly.

"so l'italiano e un po' di francese" eda smiled. (PLS don't get mad if this is wrong, I'm just using google translate also edas speaking Italian)
"quanto francese, parli correntemente l'italiano? o cosa sei veramente bravo a farlo?" Raine asked in the same language.
"I know enough to have an actual convocation with people." Eda smiled, changing back to english.
"What made you want to learn?" Raine asked.
"Oh..uhm..." Eda laughed nervously. "No reason really, just wanted to learn"
That, indeed was a fucking lie. The reason eda actually knew was because of a dickhead ex she has. They had forced her to learn, for no reason in particular. She could tell that Raine wasn't convinced, but thankfully they didn't make her elaborate. She sighed and sat down on a bench. Raine sat next to her. She quietly leant her head against their shoulder. They spent the next few hours just pointlessly talking and having a petty banter with each other. Eventually Raine mentioned food, which set off her stomach. She blushed a deep red of embarrassment.
Raine laughed. "Hungry calamity?"
"Maybe" she mumbled
"Come on" Raine said, getting up and gesturing for her to follow, which she did. Raine led her to a small restaurant. It was called 'small j's.'
Inside was small. The walls were a navy blue, the furniture was sleek and black and the decorations were different colours that honestly clashed against each other.
"Where are we?" Eda asked.
"This is where my mother used to work" Raine explained softly. "I come here often, mostly cause I get free food"
"A, lucky! B, what do you mean used to work here?" Eda asked.
"My mother passed away from cancer last year." Raine said, their voice laced with sadness.
"Oh, forget I asked..." Eda mumbled.
"It's fine princess" Raine said softly, walking to the counter.
"Raine! Aren't you supposed to be at school?" A woman with purple hair questioned.
"Maybe, maybe not. What are you gonna do about it?" Raine smirked.
The woman sighed then noticed eda.
"And who's this?"
"Eleanor, this is eda, eda this is my aunt, Eleanor." Raine said
Eda waved awkwardly. Eleanor chuckled softly and smiled.
"So what can I get you two?" She asked.
"The usual for me El, eda?" Raine said, turning to eda.
"Uh..." She looked at the menu thing. "I'll have the egg noodle soup." She finally answered, embarrassed
The two of them went to a table, waiting for their food.
"So... What's the 'usual'?" Eda asked
"The exact thing as what you're getting." Raine smiled
"Really?"
"Really"
Soon their food came and they had fun mucking about, eating their food.
All too soon for both of them they left and headed back to school. Eda was probably going to skip anyway so she didn't really care. Raine didn't seem to care either. When they got there they went to their class. Turned out their timetables were just about identical, so they went to class together. Their class was mixed with the students that were two years older than them so she wasn't surprised, but Raine sure was. They ended up sitting at the back. Soon enough, the teacher walked in with a student eda had never seen before. The student had a good covering their face so eda couldn't tell what they looked like.
"Good morning class, today we have two new students, Raine whispers and," the teacher indicated to the mystery student. "And Lilith Clawthorne."
