Chapter 13

A small girl slowly opened her eyes... it was dark and she was on a bed that wasn't her own...

She noticed there was a bit of light and that was coming from the dimly lit blue moon from outside. She glanced next to her and noticed a girl that had similar features. Her big sister, to be exact.

"Skye?" The girl mumbled, shaking her. There was an odd taste in her mouth, it was like metal... it was blood. "Skye?!" The girl shook the older blonde again.

"Hmm...?" The older girl said, waking up. "Eliza? Thank god, you're up... are you okay?" She says, quickly sitting up, hugging her little sister.

"Yeah. I'm fine... but what happened?" She asked. "Are we at Jax's again?"

"Yeah..." Skye says, standing up. "Come on, now that you're awake I think we should clean you up... unless you're too tired."

"No, I'm fine." Eliza says.

"Then come on, let's go wash the blood out of your mouth first. You don't want to cough it all up." Skye said, grabbing her sister's hand.

"What about you?"

"I'm okay... don't worry."

After that they both left the room and went into the bathroom. Skye turned on the sink and grabbed a cup. She filled it with water and gave it to Eliza.

"Rinse out your mouth, I'll be back in a few minutes to check up on you. And then we'll get to your other wounds." Skye said, leaving Eliza to her own devices.

"The brat seems to be up." Jax said, seeing her come out of the bathroom and into the main room.

"Yeah..." Skye sighed a bit in relief. "I'm glad..."

"You don't look or sound like it. But I wouldn't blame you, if I was suffering the same shit I'd probably act the same." Jax says, turning off the tv. Skye sat next to him on the couch and sighed again, but this time it wasn't in relief.

"I'm worried... she hit the wall pretty hard, but she doesn't seem to have any memory loss or a concussion. But when we were walking, she was limping a bit. She might've sprained her ankle... but if it's worse I might have to take her to the doctor's and then they'll end up calling my parents... and if they end up calling my parents then-" Jax covered her mouth with his hand.

"You overthink too much." Jax says.

"I know but-" Skye got cut off again.

"Go lay down. The brat hasn't cried yet, so she's probably fine. You also look exhausted. You always put others before yourself, this time be a little selfish and get some rest." Jax tells her.

"But Eliza's wounds-"

"I got 'em. Get some sleep, shorty." He says, ruffling her hair, trying to get her to calm down.

"I already slept-"

"Yeah for like five minutes, you were just pacing around out here before you went back into the bedroom." Jax says.

She sighed, looks like she was too tired to keep being stubborn. So, she just ended up laying on him. "Wake me up in a few minutes." She yawned, closing her eyes.

"H-Hey! I meant in the bedroom!" Jax says, a bit embarrassed that she was laying on his lap. He looked at her and sighed, no use trying to get her to get up. After all she's already sleeping and he'd hate to wake her up after he just said for her to rest.

He softly smiled looking at her gentle state and rubbed her back. "You really were tired weren't you, you idiot..." He mumbles. He picked her up slowly and gently enough so she wouldn't wake up and carried her to his room.

He laid her on the bed and was going to head out until Skye, unconsciously, grabbed his wrist.

"... Don't go..." She mumbles. It seems like she was talking to someone in her sleep.

'Damn it. What am I supposed to do?-'

"Skye, I finished- oh." Eliza peeked in from the doorway and noticed them.

Jax blushed dark red and glared at the 10 year old. "Shut up and don't speak of this." He says.

Eliza just giggled and walked away. 'Guess I'm taking the couch instead.' She quietly giggled to herself again and wrapped herself in a blanket. 'Two dense dumbasses with a close relationship... maybe love? Close friendship? Whatever it is... I just want Skye to be happy.'

Her smile then went into a small frown. 'Stupid Doctor... I don't want him to ruin anything... Sure I'm hurt right now... but being with Skye and Jax, them being like my new parents... I want that... only that... nothing else... I want us three to be together, nothing to ruin it... I don't want pain for Skye and I... Just happiness. That's all...'

"You're not doing it right!" A small female voice said.

"It's not like I've done this before!" The male shouted.

"Umm what's going on...?" Skye says, look at the two that were arguing over how to make breakfast.

"The imbecile doesn't know how to cook!" Eliza says.

"It's not like you do either!" Jax retorts.

"But I'm a kid! You're an adult!" Eliza says. "You should at least have some sense on how to cook!"

"Shut up!" He says.

Skye just laughed at their childish rambling. "You guys are such kids, sometimes..." She says.

"But I'm not a kid!" Jax whines.

"You're acting like one." The older blonde says. "With your whining and yelling... I'm sure you have an inner child."

"Heh~ the old man really is a kid~" Eliza says, sticking her tongue out at him. Jax did the same action as a retort.

This "play-fight" stopped when the phone rang.

"I'll get it." Skye says.

"Wait Skye-"

"Hello?" 'Damn it!' Jax thought.

"Hmm? I'm Skye." "Yeah, he's here." "Jax! Someone named Reverend Gray is calling you!" Skye says.

"Tch, stupid old man..." Jax mumbles before grabbing the phone. "What do you want?" "Huh?" "I just visited!" He said before sighing. "Fine, I'll be there in about an hour..." He harshly hung up the phone.

"I assume he wants you to come by." Skye says.

"Yeah..." Jax mumbles, looking uninterested.

"Huh? Who?" Eliza asked.

"The Reverend of the Church down the street." Skye answers.

"No way. Jax knows a priest. He seems like the last person to know anything that deals with God." Eliza says. "And aren't Reverend's supposed to be smart. How'd they know Jax."

"You be quiet." Jax says, glaring at the younger blonde who just stuck her tongue out at him again. He sighed, not wanting to waste time. "Well I better get going. I'll pick up some more baking supplies on the way." He says before leaving.

"And then there were two..." Skye mumbles.

"Hurts watching your boyfriend go, huh?~" Eliza says with a smirk.

Skye blushed at the comment. "S-Shut up! A-And go into the bathroom. I still need to check out some of your wounds!"

The younger blonde just laughed and walked into the hallway of the bathroom.

Skye sighed and glanced at the counter where Jax and Eliza were 'baking' and her eyes caught something... off.

'A key?'

"Sis!" Eliza's voice snapped Skye out of her thoughts.

"C-Coming!" Skye said, glancing at the counter once more before walking down the hall.
