I walked through the door but I was about to open it when someone did it for me. Another man showed up in front of me. But this time, I know who he is.

"Aedrian, where do you think you're going?"

"Move." I agitated.

He blocked me. "Don't be reckless. Look at yourself, you're so pale."

"I don't care, Leo." I protested.

He hold my shoulder and stared at me. "I told you to go back to bed, Aedrian."

"Why would I, Leo? So someone can just barge in and stab me again?!"

"I'm trying to protect you, Aedrian!!!" He shouted.

"Then protect me! I can't just wait here, Leo! You know, I can't!" I moved his hand away from me and walked pass through him.

"You can't just put your life at stake. I know how you wanted to lure L out, and make him pay his debt but what can we do? We can't just put justice on our hands!" He professed.

I let out a sigh and turn my back, looking at him. "You're not seeing the picture vividly, Leo. We will not put justice on our hands, instead, we will make L put his hands on justice itself."

"What do you mean?"

"He wants me since the very first case and perhaps until now, he's making fun of me. I will make him enjoy this game. I will give him what he wants." I smirked. In an instance, I know what to do. I know this is the right time. And this time, I am sure that we can finally capture L.

He just stared at me for a couple of seconds and decided to put his jacket on me to cover up the hospital suit I am currently wearing.

"I'll pay for the hospital bills. You go first in the car parked at Basement 2. Here's the key. Use the exit door. Make sure that no one sees you."

I nodded. He gave me his keys and make my way to the exit door. My heart suddenly beats faster when I realized what he meant by what he said that I must be sure no one can see me. I see, as far as I remember L is still on the run. And maybe he was behind on what happened to me recently and if he found out that I gain my consciousness, he will again be after me.

I clicked the button of the key and I will immediately be able to find Leo's car. I waited for him in the passenger seat. Not too long when I heard something ringing and it was a familiar sound. I find where that ring coming from and I saw my bag in the back seat. I wonder why it is here.

The name of the caller flashes on the screen.

But Lyca is dead.

How could someone who's in the grave call me?

Hah. I shook my head and laugh. I nearly forgot who owns that phone. It's L.

I answered the call. And I am not wrong about whom I am talking to.

"You're alive. Haha." He sarcastically blurted out. "I thought you wouldn't make it." He added.

"Stop beating around the bush. What do you want L?"

"I want Nica."

My heart stopped.

I am speechless.

"If you want her alive. Just leave her with me," he added.

I clenched my fists. Damn. "Why do you want her L?" Why her?

He laughed and hung up. Shit.

I bite my lips out of frustration.

"Aedrian, something happened." He instantly gets inside the car and starts the engine. We left the hospital in just a short span of time.

"Where are we going?" I asked despite having a hunch that L is involved.

"They tracked the current position where L is hiding. We have to be there."

I don't know but I doubt this one.

I never asked where the exact place is. I want to check if we will see the true L or just a decoy. It's a hunch. Thinking that I just made a conversation with the killer a while ago and he didn't seem to be bothered at all.

I just let the police do the work.

It is not that I am underestimating the police, it was just our enemy is such a hard-ass. He's not that easy to capture.

The car rapidly ran towards the said place. It is quite an old hotel that perhaps people might not want to stay in because it looks like a haunted. We get out of the car and saw police around the area.

"Status?" Leo asked.

"Someone called and gave us a lead about our suspect." The police reported.

"Who calls who? Why did you easily believe?"

The police lean closer to Leo and whisper something that makes him look at me.

"I see. L might be really here," he stated.

He turn around and decided to head to the floor that was suspected to be L's whereabouts. I followed him.

"Who said that L is here?" I asked but he declined to answer.

He holds his gun while leaning through the door. He was about to open the door when my phone rang. I picked it up 'cause I know who will possibly call me this time.

It's him. I heard him laugh from the other line.

I noticed that Leo entered the room. I couldn't follow him at this moment because of this distraction.

"Shit." I heard Leo's voice so I immediately ran to him. And there we saw something unimaginable.

A body...

Which is crucified.

"L is dead," Leo stated.

I was so surprised by what he said. It wasn't Him. It wasn't the real L!

And all I can hear from now is the continuous creepy laugh from my phone.

Wait.

It is not one voice only.

Two voices are laughing.

The call finished. I was about to call that number again when I noticed the object from the hand of the corpse... We are all shocked when it slips and rolls on the floor.

An apple...

Covered of blood.

"I guess, this is it." I looked at Leo with disagreement with what he stated. "The serial killer is finished. The case is closed," he claimed.

"What?"

Leo speaks to his colleagues. I don't know.

Sobrang labo!

Sa inis ko, I left that room. I am walking outside when someone familiar caught my eye. 

Our eyes met and that man ran away but I managed to corner him.

"What are you doing here, mister?" I asked.

He turned around and looked at me. I was right, he was the man I saw at the hospital.

"Nothing." He stated.

"You're probably checking if your son is dead," I said full of sarcasm. His eyes widened for a moment then stay calm.

"Yes." He looked directly into my eyes. "I am. And I can see, that he's fine."
