REUNITING WITH GAARA

I DO NOT OWN NARUTO

And this is my favorite part! Gaara learns that Naruto is still alive! Yay!

So I will have to hurry this up because a certain friend wanted me to update. So yeah! Enjoy the story!

"And theeeerrreee he gooeeesss," Naruto drawled out as Hikaru ran off. Again. "So, I guess I'll see you guys in the office. Don't say anything okay? We like entering in style," Naruto winked as he, Aiko and Natsumi ran off, giggling and laughing.

> KAZEKAGE OFFICE <

Gaara sat in his chair, staring blankly at the clear blue sky that reminded him of his first and best friend. Deceased best friend.

He was snapped out of his thoughts when a knock was heard on the door.

"Lord Kazekage, the Uzukage of Uzushio has sent four. . . messengers to deliver a scroll. Your siblings are with them," the Sand shinobi reported, a fighting to keep a smile from tugging on his lips.

"Bring them in," Gaara stated in his monotone, standing up.

"See Hikaru? I told you not to meddle with jutsus, I told you a thousand times but noooooo! Let's not listen to my older sister! Well look where that got you Hikaru!"

Gaara turned around, his eyes instantly zeroing on the smaller figure as his eyes widened. There, standing sheepishly before him, was a carbon copy of Naruto Uzumaki when he was 12. He was wearing dark green ANBU pants and a short-sleeved navy blue hoodie with green sleeves.

"You aren't Nii-san, Hikaru! Meddling with jutsus, especially with the RasenShuriken, without Nii-san there to help you is dangerous! And you went against what everyone told you! And see what happened? You a burnt hand! And Kami help you if Granny yells my head off!" Ranted a girl with blue eyes and red hair with a mix of orange and yellow highlights in a high side ponytail. She was wearing a black short-sleeved hoodie, mid-thigh-length black skater skirt, black knee-length pants and red fingerless gloves with black metal on the knuckles. Her black forehead protector was around her neck.

Next to her was a girl with piercing green eyes and long dark brown hair in a high side ponytail. She was wearing exactly the same thing only her hoodie was bright green and her fingerless gloves were black with silver metal plates. Her navy blue forehead protector was on her waist.

Behind them was Temari and Kankuro. All of them were giggling except the ranting girl and the young boy who looked sheepish.

"Hey little brother," Kankuro waved, surprisingly cheerful, Temari giggling too much to say or do anything.

Gaara frowned. Kankuro hadn't exactly been. . . as cheerful and carefree as usual after Naruto's death, so why was he acting like this now? And why was Temari giggling like crazy? So the girl and her brother were typical siblings. Was that any reason that she should laugh so much she couldn't do or say anything? Maybe they had moved on.

"Wait. . . blood-red hair. . . green eyes. . .  a kanji for love. . ." the brunette gasped in realization.

"IT'S GAARA! THE ONLY ONE WHO UNDERSTOOD NII-SAN'S PAST!!" The girls shrieked in unison.

The poor blonde boy covered his ears, cringing. "STOP SCREAMING YOU STUPID BANSHEES!"

"YOU'RE SCREAMING TOO!"

"AM NOT!"

"ARE TOO!"

"AM NOT!"

"ARE TOO!"

Gaara, Temari and Kankuro sweatdropped.

"Children, children! Please! Stop fighting and get on with things! You are in the presence of the Kazekage! I go and do a short errand what happens? You start screaming at each other! And girls, stop fangirling over Gaara! Ugh you're all so childish! Wait. . . you are kids. Damn I swear you guys will drive me nuts! I'm coming over right now so say your prayers midgets! " A very annoyed voice yelled through a miniature speaker on the redhead's belt.

Temari and Kankuro inwardly smirked. He was keeping their brother in suspense. This would be fun to watch.

Gaara had frozen at the voice. It sounded exactly like. . . him.

The redheaded girl stared with stars in her eyes and started leaping in joy.

"I'm not the only redhead, I'm not the only redhead!" she sang.

"Natsumi. . . our mother is redheaded," the brunette deadpanned. "Plus, the blood-red hair is one of Gaara's distinctive features. And didn't Nii-san tell you to stop fangirling?"

"Oh shut up and let me have my moment of joy," the girl scowled before resuming her. . . dance.

"Yo yo yo, it's your brother Jo!" A familiar voice sing-songed, making Gaara stiffen immediately.

A young man, around 18, had hair exactly like Minato Namikaze, his blue eyes kind and holding an ever-present sparkle of mischievousness. He was wearing navy blue ANBU pants, a white shirt with a rather large red swirl on each sleeve and a green flak jacket. A katana was strapped across the man's back, and his navy blue forehead protector was on his forehead. And. . . he had whisker marks.

"Aiko. . . what happened?" the blonde man sweatdropped as he stared at the dancing girl.

"Don't ask," the now-known Aiko groaned.

"Found out she's not the only redhead," Temari supplied as the man shot the brunette an exasperated look.

"I told her to stop fangirling! Wait. . . she does know our mother has red hair, right?"

"Told me not to spoil her "moment of joy"," Aiko rolled her eyes. "By the way Nii-san, why was Gaara the only one who understood you?"

The teen smiled sadly. "The only ones who can understand a jinchūriki, is another jinchūriki. It doesn't matter if they're from the Leaf, of the Sand, or anywhere else. All jinchūriki are treated the same in every village. That's why Dad and I aim to make our village a more equal place, so no one feels left out or unsafe in their own homes."

Gaara was completely frozen, his green eyes wavering.

(You know how in the anime eyes can wobble? That sounds weird, but whatever. Yeah when I say "wavering" I mean the wobbling that the eyes do when the people are shocked or something. . . don't really know how to describe it)

The playful voice, the pained wisdom coming from life as a jinchūriki, the spiky blonde hair and blue eyes that was seen on only two people. . . he was 18. Naruto would've been 18 today.

"Lord Kazekage, geez that sounds weird," the man muttered the last part, "my father, the Uzukage has sent me to give you a scroll for the peace treaty he offered a few days ago."

Gaara didn't take the scroll held out to him. Wavering, fearful green eyes met steady, kind blue ones.

"Uh, Gaara? Gaara~!" Kankuro waved a hand in front of his little brother's face, concerned, although both he and Temari were struggling to hold in laughter.

When the redhead spoke at last, his voice was soft. "Naruto. . . are you really alive?"

The blonde's face was surprised before he smiled. "Yeah. I'm back, Gaara."

Natsumi chose at that moment to bound up (is that the right grammar?) and leap onto Naruto's back.

"Natsumi!" he yelped, quickly setting the scroll on Gaara's desk as his sister laughed merrily.

"C'mon Aiko, Hikaru! Join the fun!"

"Oh please no," Naruto muttered.

Aiko jumped on, immediately followed by the younger boy.

"ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?! GET OFF! UGH DAMN YOU NATSUMI!"

He was staggering around, the three kids squealing and hanging on tightly as he yelled in irritation at them.

Gaara felt a smile tug on his lips. Something that hadn't happened since Naruto "died".

And that's it for today! Um, so, should I continue this or just end it right here? I'm not really sure. Anyway, if you want more, just say so!

And thanks for reading this!
