I look at myself in the mirror and staring back at me with the same bored look as always is a girl with long brown hair, a blue shirt, and a green skirt. She has tan skin and dark brown eyes that are partially closed. 

Same as always. 

"Mom?"

"What is it, sweetie?"

"Can you come here, please?"

My mom quickly opens the door to my room. "What do you need?"

"I want to wear something different."

"What do you mean?" 

"I have a bunch of shirts and skirts that are just different colors. I want something else." I say quietly.

Mom takes my hand and we both look in the mirror. "Frisk, honey, those were the clothes that were on clearance. We can't afford anything new."

"Oh, that's okay. Let's just get off to work. I don't want to make you late." I tell her.

"Are you sure that you're okay? I could--"

"Mommy, I'm sure." I assure my mother with a small smile. "I promise."
