FIRST MEETING
If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you.
BEAM'S POV
"Seriously Phi, do I have to do this?" I asked, staring at the campus auditorium.
"Come on Beam, this will be fun. At least you can meet a lot of beautiful girls," he said.
I stared annoyed at my brother.
"This is all because of Phi. Just because Phi won last year's Campus Moon and Star Competition, they think I will win this year's competition too."
P'Pha smiled and looked at me softly.
"They did not choose you because you are my brother, but because you have the qualities to be a Faculty's Moon. Although not as handsome as Phi, but Phi is sure you will win this year's competition," he said.
Tsk.
Basic narcissist.
I still objected and refuse to get out of the car. P'Pha chuckles but he turns off the engine, walks out and opens the car door for me.
"Come on Bee" he pleaded impatiently.
I stared annoyed at him.
"If I do this, Phi will let me drive my own car ?" I offered. I have been 18 years and already have a driving licence but my brother and father who are too overprotective never allow me to drive my own car.
He looked at me for a moment before taking a deep breath.
"Okay. If you win the competition, P will persuade Pa to let you drive your own car."
I smiled broadly and got out of the car voluntarily.
"So where should we go ?" I asked excitedly. P'Pha shook his head and walked to the auditorium building. I followed him from the side. Everyone stared at us when we entered the auditorium. I was used to the look of admiration of people who of course were aimed at my brother not at me. My brother is a medical sophomore. He's tall as well as handsome. No wonder women admire him and men envy him.
"Bee, wait here. Phi must talk to the other committee members," he said. I nodded and looked around me.
"Beam!"
I glanced at Pie who called me and waved her hand from the end of the room. Pie was with the other girls from different faculties. I walked towards her.
"I thought you would refuse to come," she said.
"I want to run away but you know for yourself, I can't escape from P'Pha," I said. Pie laughed.
"You are really unlucky," she said. "But it would be nice to have a brother like P'Pha," she said, staring at P'Pha with a starstruck face.
Her words caused other girls nearby to rain me with questions about P'Pha. I tried my best to answer all their questions. After all, in the end they will turn to me when they find out how annoying P'Pha is.
Ten minutes later a tall, thin, long-haired senior guy stood in front of us and told us to gather. We stood neatly in the middle of the room.
"Morning Nong-Nong," he said kindly.
"Phi's name is Sway Tachakorn. You can call me P'Sway," he said, wagging his hair. I tried to hold back my laughter.
(Note: Sway in Thai means beautiful)
"Phi will explain all the schedules and make sure you follow all the schedules perfectly. Therefore if you have problems you can come to Phi or.."
Suddenly I saw P'Pha and several other Phi appear. I recognized one of them because last year that Phi won the award for the Most Popular Moon, P'Kongpob. The girls next to me squealed seeing them.

Tsk.
"You can ask the handsome P'Phi and the beautiful P'Phi which are the last year's Faculty Moons and stars." P'Sway continued. Each Phi introduces themselves and greeted us. P'Pha greeted us with a cold face. While P'Kongpob looks very friendly.
"Today we will only have a photoshoot session. We will put up your pictures on the campus website and on each faculty's sites."
Suddenly I saw P'Kongpob whispering something to P'Sway.
"Ah, before that, let's check out who all are not present here first," he said, looking at the notebook he had been holding earlier. P'Sway read our names one by one.
"From the Faculty of Engineering, Forth Jaturapoom and Mook Wooranit,"
(A/N : Tae Darvid Kreepolrerk as Forth Jaturapoom.)
I was surprised to hear a name that was so familiar to my ears. Forth Jaturapoom. I glanced around me and didn't see his face. A girl with long hair and tall body raised her hand.
"Forth hasn't come yet Phi," the girl named Mook said.
P'Sway chuckled and looked at P'Kongpob.
"I'll contact him," P'Kongpob said before he left the room. P'Sway looked back at us. He clapped his hands so we could focus on him again. My legs were starting to get sore from standing for too long.
"Ah while waiting for N'Forth, Phi will share your schedule. Make sure you follow everything and arrive on time na," he said. P'Sway distributed the schedule papers to the seniors. All Stars approach P'Phi to get a schedule. I can only shake my head. I received the schedule paper offered by Pie.
"Wow. We will have an overnight stay in Hua Hin!" Pie said happily. I pay attention to the schedule in my hand. Shia... we will practice until 6 PM. It's as tiring as facing student's orientation.
Not long after I saw P'Kongpob enter the auditorium while pulling the ear of a person whom I recognized immediately. I knew he was in the same university as me because my father had repeatedly warned me. But I didn't think that we would compete in this competition together. It seems like what happened last year will repeat again this year too.
"Aw Phi... Phi..." he groaned from the entrance until P'Kongpob let go of his grip from Forth's ear when they reached the center of the room. He wore a black leather jacket outside his white shirt whose two buttons were already undone. His tie is not properly tied and it just hangs around his neck.
"How dare you be late on the first day itself ?" shouted P'Kongpob in annoyance. The guy just stroked his ear. Forth Jaturapoom looks in accordance with the description that my father gave so far. A delinquent and troublemaker. But seeing that he passed Mahidol entrance exams meant he wasn't as stupid as my father said.
"Aw Phi... it's already been explained that I had to change the tires in the middle of the road," he said. Before P'Kongpob berated Forth further, P'Sway came and separated them.
"Ah handsome nong. Join the others because we will soon start the show," he said, tapping Forth's shoulder. Forth pouted and stood next to Mook.
"Since everyone has gathered, we can move to room A because the photoshoot will be held there."
I along with all the other participants walked towards room A following P'Sway and other Phi. I looked at room A that was arranged for a photoshoot. Backgrounds, spotlights and photographers are already waiting for us.
"We will start with the Faculty of Medicine... N'Beam and N'Pei," P'Sway called us both at the same time. I felt choked up because we were the first participants whose photos were taken first.
"No need to be nervous and relax," suddenly P'Pha said who was standing behind me. I could see Pie, who was surprised and blushed because P'Pha encouraged us.
"Don't worry. I will win this competition," I said as I walked towards the photoshoot booth.
Yes, I have to win this competition so I can drive my own car.
Our photoshoot didn't consume much time. They took mine and Pie's picture separately first after that a picture of both of us together.
(A/N : Tee Thanapon Jarujitranon as Beam Baramee.)
"That's great! Thank you N'Beam and N'Pie," The Phi said, who took our picture. I smiled and moved away from the photo booth because it was time for the Faculty of Economics.
I breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the toilet. I stared in surprise when I saw Forth standing in front of the sink. He looked at me coldly. I ignored him and walked to the bathroom cubicle. When I finished, I saw Forth still standing in front of the sink. He was trying to tie his tie and was looking completely annoyed. Unconsciously while washing my hands, I watched him. Forth tried various methods but he failed to tie his tie. I tried to hold back my laughter but failed.
Forth stopped tying his tie and looked at me for a while before he walked towards me. I swallowed hard and stood still.
"You!" he said, holding out his hand. I thought he would hit me so I moved back and tried to resist his attack. There was silence and there was no reaction from both of us for some time.
"What are you doing?" he asked confused. I saw his hand still reaching out and holding his tie. I looked at him confused.
"Can you tie a tie?" he asked.
I stood straight and nodded. I feel like a fool.
"Then help me," he said.
I looked at the man in front of me. He asked for help but his way of asking was really arrogant. I chuckled annoyed but out of pity for him I decided to help him.
"Here," I said, pulling the tie from his hand. Forth smiled happily and walked over to me.
"Haven't you ever worn a tie before?" I asked in surprise.
"Usually Mae ties the tie..." he said. I could feel his breath on my face. "or my girlfriends," he added.
I snorted to hear him use the plural word for the word girlfriend. I don't want to know how many girlfriends he has ever had.
"Finished," I said, staring proudly at the results of my work. Forth smiled happily while staring at the mirror. "Thanks Ai'Beam," he said while patting my head and then walked out of the bathroom.
I stood still at my place.
Seriously. He just left me !?
And how did he know my name ?
FORTH'S POV
In this world I really hate two things: getting up early in the morning and tying a tie. Tsk. I hate P'Kongpob because he made me take part in this ridiculous competiton. I thought I would be able to live a quiet life because I didn't need to follow the student's orientation in my campus but I didn't think that the schedule of the competition was as tight as the orientation program at my campus.
Aish.
I want to beat up whoever created it this useless thing.
"Puff..."
I stopped tying the tie and stared at the person next to me. Beam Baramee. He was surprised to see me staring at him. I looked at his tie which was still perfectly in its place.
I smile knowingly.
Maybe he can help me with the tie ?
I approached him and reached out my hand. But instead of staying at his place, he moved back and tried to protect himself from me.
"What are you doing ?" I asked confused. Beam stopped whatever he was doing and looked at me. He became awkward and I could see a red tinges on his cheek.
"Can you tie a tie ?" I asked.
Beam stopped the stance and nodded.
"Then help me!" I asked, walking closer to him. He chuckled annoyed but he didn't refuse my request.
"Here," He said before pulling the tie from my hand and draping it around my neck.
Beam Baramee. I know him because my father keep on comparing myself with him. My family and Baramee family did not get along for years. I don't want to bother myself with their quarrel or whatever it is but because my father always compared myself to the children of Baramee family inevitably I was always curious about the said person that my father always said was smarter, more accomplished and better than me.
Beam continues to concentrate on tie me. I can see his long eyelashes and thick eyebrows from my current position. An amazing combination for a man. I'm sure many women are crazy about him.
Suddenly he looked at me with his amazing eyes. My heart skipped a beat at that moment.
"Haven't you ever worn a tie before ?" he asked irritably. His hands are still busy making knot.
"Usually Mae pairs my tie or my girlfriends" I deliberately emphasized the word girlfriends. Beam snorted and pouted then turned his face away from mine and resumed working on the tie. I tried to hold my smile.
"Finished," he said, pulling my tie tightly. I almost suffocated because of that.
I looked into the mirror and loosened the tie a little bit. He made the perfect tie, like Mae. I smiled with satisfaction seeing my appearance.
"Thanks Ai'Beam," I said as I ran out of the bathroom. I have to go back to the room where photo shooting is going on because if P'Kongpob doesn't find me, he will start eating my ears with his scoldings. He can be very terrible sometimes.
