The show must go on
The limo made it's way to where the show was going to be held. "So you talked to your mom?" He asked. "Ugh yea. That was fun. I told her we got married. I'm sure she'll tell my dad and the rest of my family." I finished. "Yea, and she was ok with that?" He asked. "Well, i told her we were going to have a real wedding in the fall." I said. "I thought you weren't ok with that?" He asked. I sighed. "I'm not, it just came out. I felt so bad!!" I said.
"Well, Kita Sans wants to speak with us, well mainly you." "Who is that?" I asked. "Wedding planner." "What!? No this is a bad idea." I said. "Why I thought you told your mom and stuff." He said. "I did, but A you can't just assume you can help somebody plan there wedding. I don't need a planner. And two, She'll start buying stuff and that is bad."
"Bad?" He asked. "Yea bad. What am i gonna do with all this wedding stuff? We don't need it since we won't be getting remarried. So we just take a few photos like we are planning it and that's that. We wipe our hands of this and walk away friends." I said wiping my hands. "Yea but my mom only has me. She will want to help plan something, and so will your mom." He said.
"I've never given to much thought about wedding planning." He said. "Don't you think it'd be fun? I mean if we had to. Trying cake and different foods. And then dance lessons. It would be so romantic." I said. "Yea but then there are things like picking out brides maids dresses and decorations. Or getting my teeth pulled." He pointed out. "OK yes well i'd probably make the brides maids dresses but we'd pick a color scheme and shop together and i think it would be fun. And you really don't have to be so dramatic." I said shaking my head. "you're real fiance' will want you to help." I said. He sighed. "You're right i am being dramatic. I'm sorry i guess it's just cause it's not real. But i'd really like to help if it were." He said.
"So this interview..." "Oh yea they just want details on the wedding and our life together and what not." He said. "OK, sounds easy enough." I nodded an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. The more we delve into this the harder and scarier it became. When we told one lie, we had to tell another and honestly i as forgetting the lies we'd been telling. I was worried they would just come spilling out as i freaked out about it all. The limo came to a stop and the driver flashed an id at the guard. We pulled through and came to a stop at the back of the lot.
Hunter took my hand and led me into the building. We walked down the long well lit hallway. He found a door with a gold start with his name on it. It was made out of paper. "Nice star." I laughed. "Thanks." He grinned pushing the door open. We stepped inside, turning the lights on.
"So we have a few minutes. They are setting up the gear then we have to do a sound check and then hide out here until they call for me." He said. "That sounds fun." I said a bit sarcastically. "OK well so it's not the most fun, but you get used to it." There was a walkie talkie on the desk that crackled to life. "Hunter were ready for you on the stage." "You ready for this?" He asked his eyes shining. "Ready as i'll ever be." I said walking out into the hall with him.
We went to the stage and i took a seat on the front row to watch him preform. He only did a few songs just to make sure everything was set up correctly. Once he was done i clapped for him. "Great job." I said. I got up from my seat and went to meet him on the stage. "Thank you." He did a mock bow. "Let's go hang out for a bit they are letting people in soon." He said. I followed him out. We headed back to the dressing room to wait. While we were there we played twenty questions. I found out everything to favorite colors and food to favorite movies and TV shows. Which he admitted to not caring for because in his free time he spent it working on music. It made me glad for a moment that we weren't going to have to stay married. I'd never get any of his time.
"Hey, are you OK?" He asked. I realized i had been quite for a bit. "Oh yea i was just thinking." "Oh yea? What about?" "Well just, when were done with each other. And you date somebody for real. Make sure you make your new girlfriend or whoever feel special." I said.
"I don't understand." He said splaying his palms out on his pants. "It's just, you spend a lot of time working on your music and she should feel important too." I said. "I know, but i love music and I've never loved anything as much." He said. "I know that, but when you meet the right woman she'll be so amazing you'll want to spend more time with her and less on the music. But she'll also be special enough that she'll understand how important this is to you. And she'll even inspire you. It'll be amazing."
He nodded his head thoughtfully. "Yea i got you. I don't want to be thirty and single because I spent so much time on the music that by the time I want a family it might be to late. I guess I never really thought of it like that." "Maybe it's a girl thing, we want to feel loved and special. I'd hate for you to miss an anniversary or a birthday." "Couldn't I just make it up to her later with something really special?" "No because then she's going to know the music comes first and she's second." I said. "But sometimes the music does come first." "Fine, but you still have to do SOMETHING."
"I never thought about that. Maybe that's why I don't date much." He said bashfully. "What about you?" He asked. "I don't date much because I guess I have high standards. I know that sounds stupid or stuck up. But I am an adult I don't have time to date a guy who just sits around and plays video games all day. I want a guy who has dreams and who's going places." I said. Somebody who could see the big picture. And has passion and drive. OK so maybe that's somebody like Hunter. But if we hadn't ended up accidentally married to each other we'd never be in this situation. But we never talked about the fact that he might've been interested. Or that if we weren't married i would of been flattered and interested myself.
"Hey can i ask you something?" I asked. "Sure thing." He said. "So you said you had planned on following us to the club." I said. "Yea, and you never did tell me if that was creepy or if i even had a chance." He said. "You would've totally had a chance but now that we are married, dating seems weird." "It does, doesn't it. I mean because even if we decided to date we'd still have to get unmarried." "Right, i just wanted to know what we were going to about that." I said. "Nothing i guess." He shrugged.
The walkie talkie crackled to life again. "Hunter, we need you." And it went dead. "So i had them put you a chair back stage to watch the show." Hunter said. "OK great." I was grateful for that dumb walkie talkie. I didn't want to finish this conversation. "When i'm done i have to auction off my guitar and stuff. I got one to play for the show so I could give it away then i'll sell a few guitar picks then a few autographed photos. Then i'll get you to come out to do the interview once everyone is gone." He said as we reached the stage. "OK great." I sat in my chair. "You gonna be OK?" He asked giving me a warm smile. "Totally. Good luck out there." He ran out onto the stage.
"Hey ya'll how are ya'll doing!? Who's ready to rock!?" Hunter screamed. The crowd cheered loudly. He played a few songs from his current album. "Hey guys so this next song. I want crazy i wrote for a very special lady in my life. He looked at me and winked.
He finished up his set list and sold off all the things he had. I was really impressed at how much everything sold for. "Did everybody get something?" He asked. "NO." One fan shouted out. "Oh no well we need to fix that. What do you want?" He asked. "Your shirt." She called back. "My shirt?" He pulled at the black fabric of his v neck shirt laughing. "Well it's for charity i guess OK." "Take it off!" Another fan called. "Not yet. Not until we have a winner. Gotta make you guys work for it!" He laughed.
The shirt was sold for three hundred dollars. I don't know if they wanted the shirt because it smelled like him or if they wanted to see him shirtless. He took it off and the girl came up to the stage. He leaned down and handed the shirt to her. "Thank you, it's for a good cause." He said. "I wanna lick you." She said. He laughed. "OK take that up with my wife." He said backing up before she could grab him.
The people started filing out of the space. I came out and sat on the edge of the stage next to Hunter. We dangled our feet. "Sorry you lost your shirt." I joked. "It's okay it was for a good cause." "Hi you guys, Jenaveve Gorder here for S-Magizine. How are you guys doing?" She asked. "Here ya go Mr. Hayes." Said his body guard handing him a new shirt. "Thanks." He slipped in on and turned to Jenaveve. "Sorry about that where were we?" He asked her. "No problem i was just asking how you guys were." She said smiling. "Were well." We both said at the same time laughing. "How was the wedding?" She asked. "Small, entament (Sp?) we just did something for us." Hunter said. "OK so i have to ask. The fans are dying to know. Was there a honey moon and how was it?" She asked raising her eye brows. "Oh well we didn't have time for a honey moon. I had some stuff i had to do for work." He said. "Are there plans for a honey moon in the future?" She asked. "Yes, I guess so." "Where are you planning on going?" She asked.
He looked to me. "Wherever my beautiful wife wants to go." He said taking my hand and kissing it. I blushed. Boy he was laying it on thick. "Well?" She asked me. "London, I've always wanted to go." I said. "Oh it's lovely." Hunter confirmed. "So have you guys had any alone time?" She asked. "Alone time? Sure we've had some time at the house." "And how was it?" She asked. "I don't know what you're getting at." I said coyly. "Oh don't be shy, we all know what happens when two love birds get married." "Then you don 't need details." I said. Hunter squeezed my hand to let me know I was doing good. We might've done something. We can't exactly remember. Next question please.
"So why didn't you do a big wedding?" She asked. "Well we didn't really have time." Hunter confirmed. "But we were just so in love we didn't want to wait. We were thinking of doing a big wedding in the fall though." Hunter said looking at me. I nodded so he would know it was OK. "Yea we are working on the invites they should go out soon." I said.
"Well we cannot wait to do a spread of your wedding in the magazine. We are all super excited for you guys. Jessica please tell me what it is you do." "Well i'm a fashion designer." And i left it at that. I didn't want her to know i was thinking of starting my own line because i didn't want to mooch off Hunters fame.
"Have you designed anything for Hunter?" She asked. "Not yet but we'll have to see about that. I want to design my own wedding dress i think." "Oh that will be beautiful i'm sure." We finished up the interview and headed back to the limo.
"So do you really want to make your own wedding dress?" He asked. "I don't know i think it might be fun. I mean pick out the material and i can make sure it fits me perfectly you know." "Right on." "Yea i don't know when that will be of course." I said. "Yea but you may have to make something." "What? No."I I said. "Yea, your family and mine included will think we are getting married in fall. Our moms are going to want to help you pick out a dress. If you say you're making it they'll let it go." I shook my head. "I can't do that." I said. "Well what about invites?" He asked. "If we REALLY were getting married wouldn't we send those out soon?" He asked.
" It's June, say we get married in November. That's five months tops." I said. "Well people want to see stuff. Your mom i know she's going to want to see stuff. And my mom she'll be excited to meet you and wanna help. I'm an only child and I'm only gonna do this once." "You mean twice, I feel so bad! Your mom is gonna be so excited and were going to dash her dreams! She's going to hate me. And i want people to like me." I said. "Hey she will love you." He said. "And then i'll break her son's heart." I said about to cry. "Hey look don't cry. We'll make her see that it was mutual that it was hard on you being away from your family and that being my wife was harder than you thought it'd be." He said. I nodded wiping at my eyes. "But we need to at least do something." He said.
"Fine we can go pick out some stuff that we like and plan one eight of a fake wedding. Enough to hold them off. We'll take a picture and when people wanna see stuff we'll just send them out." I said. "OK i think we can do that. Man this is so weird. You and i were just hanging out and some creep hits on you and i save you and we wind up married." He said. "Wait a minute...some creep. You know that guy drugged the drinks we had." I said. "Wait...yea?" He asked. "I didn't even think about that. You're right!! If we tell the judge we were drugged..." I nodded. "He'll grant us the annulment." I said finishing for him. "Well great we'll go first thing in the morning." He said. "We may get out of this all together. We'll just tell people you stay here and we got married. But you need to go home to tie up loose ends. That i'm going on tour soon so you decided to stay home or something. It's perfect!!" He said.
We climbed into the limo and headed home. "I'm exhausted." I said. "Yea, welcome to my life." "Yea i don't want to be famous." I said. "Well if you start your own line you will be. People will want stuff." "No, i don't think i'm going to make to many custom things i mean i know that is what most people want. But i want to design a line. And then get it into production and have a fashion show then try to sell it to a store. Maybe open my own store front." I said. "Oh well that's nice. And if you want to design me a suit i'm down with that." He said. "Maybe i will measure you and see what comes to me." I said.
The limo pulled into our drive and we climbed out heading inside. I got some pj's on and went straight to bed he joined me a few minutes later.
