It's raining it's pouring...

I woke up that morning to an empty bed. I guess Hunter had gotten up early to go to the studio. I took a quick shower and got dressed going to the kitchen to find some breakfast. I saw a note on the table. "Hi, went to the studio early. I made some blueberry muffins their in the microwave. I'll be home for lunch. See you soon. Good luck on your dress." Well that's nice I thought, going to the microwave for some muffins.

Once I was done eating I had to run to the store. Hunter had taken me when I got the material for the brides maids dresses so at least I knew where I was going. I quickly pulled some chicken out of the fridge so it could finish thawing out for lunch and left. I knew what I wanted for my dress. I wanted a sweetheart neckline no straps sparkles all over. It  was gonna have a corset back. So i found some satin string and some grommets. Then the bottom would be a ball gown. So I'd need lots of tulle. I found all the things I needed and checked out.

Once I got home I cranked up some music and started on the top. I made the pattern and started meticulously sewing the top. I had to finish all the edges just so. I was really enjoying the work on the dress. But it was so bitter sweet, this was exactly the dress I wanted. I knew I couldn't wear it now because Hunter and i weren't getting married. But to show people this dress and then wear it when I get married for real. That was weird wasn't it? I mean this thing would be in all sorts of magazines. And I was still getting used to everybody caring so much about me. I hadn't even been on twitter except for the once. I heard a loud boom from outside and looked out the window. The sky had turned dark and it started raining.

My phone beeped saying it was eleven thirty. Time to start lunch. Well at least I had the whole entire top done. Besides the beading but that was going to take me a really long time to do. The chicken was thawed. I started some water for macaroni and cheese and started cooking the chicken. I put some grease on for some French fries and the kitchen was smelling wonderful. My stomach growled. The storm was raging outside. I hope Hunter was ok. I was just taking the last piece of chicken off of the stove when the front door opened.

"Oh my gosh!" I heard Hunter coming in. "Are you ok?" I asked turning around. "No, I need a hug!" he said coming towards me. "Don't you dare Hunter Easton Hayes! You are tracking water all over the floor. Don't you dare come over here." I said holding my tongs out. "Come on, just give me a hug." He came closer to me, now into the kitchen. "You're gonna clean every bit of that water up." "I'll do it as soon as I get my hug." "I'm serious stop." I said backing up into the stove. "You're stuck now." He said smiling that smile of his and raising his eye brows.

I held the tongs out but he didn't look afraid. He pulled me into a big wet hug. "Cold, oh so cold! And I made you lunch. This is the thanks I get." I said. He pulled back. "No, i'm sorry that wasn't very nice of me." "Now I have to change." I grumbled. I walked passed him. "Clean that water up." I said. "By the way, nice pink bra." Hunter says. "Don't make me come back over there." I said. "Yea and what are you gonna do?" He asked. "Don't test me." I said giving him a look. "Come get some." He motioned with his hand. I turned to go towards him and he ran past me at the last second.

I turned to come after him but he slipped on his water and nailed the floor. I started laughing and I couldn't stop. He groaned. "You're mean." "Hey buddy you started all of this! I said don't do it and you didn't listen." I laid down beside him. "Now you pay." I said tickling him like crazy. "No...no...please stop..." He said laughing. "Next time. You don't hug me when you're wet!" He grabbed my fingers to stop me from tickling him. "You're mean." He said again.

"Oh yea I'm mean you hugged me while you were wet." "What you looked like you needed a hug!" He said. "And why is that?" I asked. He bit his lip. "It was probably the white shirt. And the pink bra." He said his eyes traveling down. He gulped. I pushed my hand over his face. "Okay that hurt." I jumped up and ran from the room.

"So you're what? Just gonna leave me here?" He called out. "Jess? Jess? Really!? Come on!" I came back in  a dry shirt. "Are you eating with me or what?" I asked stepping over him to bring the food to the table. "Hey!" he called out finally getting up off the floor. He came through the kitchen in just a pair of clean jeans. "Sorry i needed to throw this in the wash."

"Uh, huh?" I asked staring at his abs. "I'm throwing this in the wash." He said holding up his wet clothes. "Yea, sure." He grinned. "What's with you?" He asked. "Uh...." "You're checking me out?" He asked. "Okay yea so maybe i was checking you out. But you're taking so long I've also checked the chicken out." I said smirking.

"Oh you think you're funny." He said. "Totally funny." He walked into the bedroom and came back out in a clean shirt. "This looks great, thank you." he said taking a seat.

We ate the food and he went into the music room to see the dress. "Oh can i not see this?" He asked. "I don't care it's not like were really getting married." I said. "Good point. This is really cool." He said. "Yea i've still got a ton of work to do! Then i have to do a flower girls dress. I really wish we hadn't gotten ourselves into this mess." I said.

He put a hand on my shoulder. "Me too, but were in it so we just have to make this best of it. But i'm really sorry to put you through all of this. I mean i hate you are having to uproot your life." He took a seat across from me on the couch. "It's not all bad, I mean i was dumped and fired. So it's good to start over." I said. "You quit." He pointed out. "Oh...yea. Might as well of gotten fired i muttered."

"I'm glad you're being positive." He said sarcastically. "I'm sorry you're right. I'll knock out these dresses and then I'll get back to my line. And it'll make quitting worth it." I said. "Great, so we've got an interview tonight." He said. "Okay sounds good." "Five." He said. "Perfect." "Were going to sparks Magazine." He kept talking but i was nervous. "Well I'll go and do the supportive wife thing  while you do you." I said. "Hey just wait soon I'll be the supportive husband while you do interviews about your new line."

I didn't say anything because he probably wouldn't. I'll be the jilted ex because another relationship failed. "Right." Was all i said. "Okay I've gotta get back to work. But I'll see you at four." He said. "Okay sounds good. Bye." "Bye." He left and i got back on the dress only having about two hours. At three my alarm went off. I got dressed, did my hair and makeup.
**********
We were sitting on the couch at sparks Magazine. Shelly, the girl doing the interview was wearing a short skirt and she kept grinning at Hunter. Hello? His wife's sitting right next to him. "So Hunter i have a ton of questions the fans sent in. So I'll read them to you and we'll record it all and i can go  back and do the article later. I'll send you a rough copy." She said. "Okay sounds good."

"How many instruments do you play?" "Thirty-two around there?" "Wow that's incredible. Here's one from Jayla from Texas. Who was your first crush?" "Uh I'd rather keep that a secret Jayla sorry." "Ha that's a good idea. What song do you wish you had written?" "Oh just this morning i heard counting stars by one republic it was great."

"Who is your biggest celeb crush?" She asked. "Maybe Ed Sherin i hope I'm right." "Ellie from Louisiana says 'I think you're like the female version of Taylor Swift, what do you think of that title?" "Uh well she's awesome so I'm okay with that." "This is all me, What's your favorite T Swift song?" "Oh Style." He said smiling.

"Mandy from California wants to know 'what do you like your girl wearing to bed?'" Hunter laughed. "A t-shirt and boy shorts. Or no shirt at all..." He said winking at me. I  blushed so hard remembering.

"Ginny from Ohio asks: What tv show is your guilty pleasure?" "Well I've got a few actually, the car shows...i like car shows. "What's the last show you binge watched?" "Oh boy, top gear i love my car shows." "Is your moms gumbo the best gumbo in the world?" She asked. "Oh yea of course." "What makes it so good?" "Mom." We all laughed.

"Twitter or Instagram. "Instagram i like photos." "What is the first thing you did in the studio this morning?" "Got a triple espresso i need my coffee to function." He said laughing. "Of course, so Your song, "I want crazy", and your new single, "Yesterday's Song", seem so personal and romantic. — What inspires you to write these types of songs?" She asked completely oblivious to the fact I was even in the room.

I cleared my throat. "Do you need some water babe?" Hunter asked giving me all of his attention I could tell it made the girl giving the interview angry. He looked to the guy taping "Could you get my wife some water." He emphasized the word wife. He was gone in a flash and back with two bottles of water. We thanked him. "So back to what inspires me, well this pretty girl right here. I have the next three albums done I swear. Because I can't just fill it with love songs but she's inspired me to write so many." He smiled his cheesy grin. "Of course." She said gritting her teeth.

"Here's one from Brittany from Texas. I've seen photos of your wife in magazines and online. How did you decide you would go so public?"  "Well We definitely talked long and hard about it, because you know, for me, I have gotten used to being in the public eye. I'm very shy. I'm a total nerd. So, internet to begin with, was an adjustment for me. Any of those things are still an adjustment for me. I love sharing as much as humanly possible, and letting fans into my life. But, I kind of choose that, and I'm okay with it. But I didn't want to subject someone in my life to what I choose. I wanted to be sensitive to her and her privacy, and ours at the same time. We had several talks, you know, just making sure that, I don't know, handled it in respect to each other and the utmost understanding of like "you let me know.." like communication and all that stuff. It's very important."

"you're so sweet." She said touching his knee. "He really is." I agreed. we looked into each others eyes and he kissed my cheek. Nice save! "You're a bit of a teen idol and have a lot of fans. Other artists have had fans get upset when they get a girlfriend. And you got a wife! — Has that been a problem for you?'

"I think my fans got to know Jessica and love her. And I knew they would. She's an awesome human. We have awesome fans. They know so much about me and so much about where I come from when I write songs. They know so much about why I write. They know when they hear a song, probably where it comes from for the most part. They might not know the names of people involved sometimes, out of respect, but they know that. So, I think they know where my heart's at. They're like your best friends. They're there for you. I've tried not to hide her from people. Because I feel like I'm lying or something. So that's why were doing the big wedding spread." He said always so diplomatic.

"Okay, I can't take anymore of you two. That's all. Have a good day." They all scurried out. "Well that was awkward." "I'm used to it." He shrugged. "Yea and I'm still getting used to it." I frowned. "Well I made the comment about my fans so maybe the mean ones will be a little more understanding." "Good, but I guess in a few months it won't matter." I said. "Oh yea, right. Honestly I forget. Playing along does that to you." He said. "yea. So I thought I had to brace my self for an interview?" I asked. "Yea well that's what they said. I'm sorry they didn't ask you anything." "I'm not really I was nervous the whole time. And that girl just kept staring at you." "I don't know if I'll ever get used to fans hitting on you. You're mine." I said. And the scary part was I think I meant it. Crap....

We headed home and it was late. We ate dinner and both showered. Then we fell into bed. "I'm tired." He said wrapping his arms around me. "Me to." I yawned. "I love you." He said snuggling into my back. "I love you." I said back. Because I did. We had said it a few times. But we were now so close I mean he was my best friend. He knew everything about me. And the few times we worked together here. Was magic. He brought out the best in me. I think I loved him as more then a friend though and I was pretty sure he didn't feel the same. At least if he did, he hid it well. Better than me.
