Are we done yet
We had done everything for the wedding. The food, the music, the cakes and the decorations were sent home. Next on our list was to enjoy the shower. We had flown home this time which sounded like a good idea at the time but then we had to think about all of the things we'd get and how we'd get them home.
We had been looking at a few houses but it was hard. I didn't want a huge house, i'd never had reason to think i could afford one. But we did need the space. The tough thing was we wanted to work together. "So we have another interview coming up." Hunter said. "Well as long as they don't ask us if we want kids..." I smiled. "Just so were clear, you do want kids right?" He asked. "yes of course. But we are still young. There is no reason to hurry. And i feel like we just got to really enjoy being with each other. I want to enjoy you as long as i can before kids enter the picture. Plus we're both so busy. You with the new album and a tour and me with my line coming out." I said.
"I've been meaning to ask you how that's going?" He asked. "It's almost done. Took me a bit because i was doing the wedding stuff ya know. But my niece and nephew are flower girl and ring bearer. I sent her dress home. He was fitted for a tux so was our dads and your grooms men and the girls received their dresses. So our goal for the wedding is me finish and debut my line. And you finish and drop your album. That way we can spend a month in London with nothing to worry about." I said.
"Well on my end sure. I told them i'd be busy and not to bother me but if you complete your line who's going to handle it? I mean who's going to deal with the stores that want to buy your line who's going to deal with the manufacturers to make sure it goes off without a hitch?" He asked. My eyes grew wide. "You're right and i don't know who i can trust!!" I said. "Breath, there has to be somebody that needs a job." He said. "Well i don't even know if i'd trust them to be honest." I said. "I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. I'm pretty sure you hire somebody and just trust them Y'know?" "I know that but it's my baby." I said. "To bad Taylor and Gabby couldn't do it." He said. "Right? if only they lived in Nashville." I said.
"They could move. And then you could see them more. You'd pay them enough to get there own houses if they wanted. And they wouldn't have to live together." He said. "Weird we've all been roommates for so long. This is crazy isn't it?" I asked. "Kind of, but if you don't want to hire somebody you don't trust." He said. "But that's the crazy part they haven't done this type of stuff before." I said. "Maybe not but if you hire one person to do it, maybe they'd babysit?" He asked chuckling. "Right! Okay i'll ask them. This will y'know give me time to show them what needs done. What am i saying. I haven't even asked them maybe they don't wanna do it." I said. "Well ya never know until you ask." He said smiling. "And what about you?" I asked. He groaned. "I'm afraid I've played hooky a lot with this album. It has to drop before our wedding so we can focus on the honey moon. We also need to have a party when it drops and one for your line plus a fashion show." He said.
"No problem for you, you probably have somebody on your end that handles that but me... I'll need a venue..." I tapped my chin. "Maybe you could hire a planner so you can focus on the line?" he asked. "Maybe I'll look into it. I am just swamped with that and then I'm planning the wedding I still have last minute strings to tie. I'm nervous I won't have time to do it all." I said. "Don't worry babe, you will." He said kissing my cheek. I leaned my head back on the cushy leather seat. I pinched the bridge of my nose. "I wanted to plan it but I just don't think I can swing it. Hand me the tablet please." We were on a private jet that had a phone and wi-fi. So I googled a few planners and found one. I checked the calendar and gave her a call.
"Hi my name is Jessica Hayes is this Claire?" I asked. "Yes it is, what can I help you with?" She asked. "Well I'm a fashion designer my line is almost done and I need help. I'm trying to do last minute stuff to get it done and plan a wedding. I need help getting the runway show ready." "Just tell me everything you'll need and a date and I'll write it down." She said. I gave her the date. It was exactly a week before the wedding. We'd have to go home a few days early for sure.
"I need a venue with lot's of room because we'll need a runway. I'd like to do fancy appetizers and something to drink an open bar maybe? It'll need chairs for all of the guest's and I want to send out invitations to everyone on a list I have." I said. "That's a tall order but I think it can be done. I'll need you to send me a track of the music you'd like as the models come down the runway. Any seats I should save?" She asked. "Four, just in case." "Right up front, will do." She asked me a few more things and we agreed this would be a good partnership. I sent her an email with every single address I had. I then googled a few address's from big box stores that might want to sell my line. I shot that to her. I'd think about the song and send that later.
I handed the tablet back to him. "Whew done, I don't know that I'll be able to breath until it's perfect though." I said. "And it will be, just gotta breath and calm down. Were going to a wedding shower. We're gonna get married for real this time." He said. I beamed. "You're right! That's amazing. Where are we going to put all the gifts though?" I asked looking around the jet. It was spacious but I wasn't sure we'd be able to fit it all. "Oh I hired an SUV and a driver he'll get all of the stuff to our house." He said.
"Speaking of houses. I know you mentioned us getting our own place, but should we really buy a house now? Maybe we should wait until we get back from the honey moon?" I said. "Well but then we're going on tour so maybe after that when I work on the next album?" He said. I nodded. "No hurry if we won't be there." I said. "Good." He took my hand in his. "I know this is going to be a crazy year but I wouldn't wanna do it with anyone but you." He said.
"Me either." I said leaning my head on his shoulder. Once we touched down a guy met us at the door. "We'll get you into your rental car and I'll load up all of your things." He said helping me down the stairs. "Thank you." I said. We walked to a black SUV and Hunter hopped behind the wheel. The back hatch was opened and our things set inside. We had to get to the hotel so we could change and get ready for the shower. We had to stay at a hotel as it was halfway from his house to mine so it'd be a good distance for both families to make it to the shower. Our mom's planned it and I'm not sure where we were going. It was an out door venue was all we were told.
We didn't have long to spend here. Just one night and we'd have to leave after lunch tomorrow. But we both had so much to do. I had to finish the line and he had to finish his album. I really had to start tracking down models asap so I could get them fitted in the clothes and figure out which model would wear what. My phone pinged with an email. "Oh it's the party planner, that was fast." I said. "What is it?" He asked looking at the phone. "A potential venue she said it was a little unorthodox though." I clicked the link to open up a giant loft looking warehouse. It had bricks and exposed beams. "I actually like it." He said. "Me too it's totally rustic." I shot her an email back. 'The venue looks perfect I absolutely love it. Can you have a runway made and chairs for everyone? Also long tables for the appetizers? Let me know if you can do all of that. Thanks!'
She sent a message back as we arrived at the hotel. 'Okay got the venue booked I'll get on everything else. I look forward to meeting you in person." She said.
"All done?" He asked pulling into the front. "For now, I'll get us checked in." I said. Nobody knew who I was and nobody cared. That was great because I didn't wanna get hounded like Hunter did. Unless it was because people wanted to tell me how awesome my line was.

"Okay we have to leave in an hour." Hunter said. "Yes, we need to hurry. I'll shower first and then you can go." "You know we can save time by showering to-" I put my finger over his mouth. "No, that would take time. We can't be late." I said. He wrapped his arms around my waist. "Why not? The shower is for us..." He said leaning down to nuzzle my neck. "That's exactly why we can't be late." I said.
He leaned his head back groaning. "Fine." I giggled. "You're incorrigible." I said shaking my head and slipping out of my shirt. "Do you blame me? Go in the bathroom and do that." I turned around put my hands on my hips. "Well I happen to know you like it mister." I said. "I do, that's why you gotta go in there." He said shooing me into the bathroom.
Once I had washed my hair and shaved I got out and slipped into a butter yellow spaghetti strap sun dress. I had to blow dry my hair. It fell into curls around my shoulders. Hunter came up behind me in a yellow striped button up shirt and some jeans. He started gelling his hair. "I'm thinking of getting my hair cut." he said. "Yea?" "Yea, I know you like to run your fingers through it and I wear a ton of gel, well what do you think?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow. "I think that'd look hot." I said. "Then I'm doing it as soon as we get back." He nodded.
I put on some makeup and slipped into my flip flops. I turned around to face him. "Are you ready to go?" I asked putting on some perfume. "Yes mam, and you look beautiful!" He said. "Awe thanks, you're so sweet." "I like your hair like that, it's kinda sexy." He said wrapping me into a hug. "Thank you, it's so much easier to let it go natural. I'm still learning to love my curls." I said.

We pulled into the venue for the shower and already saw people mingling. We got out and headed inside the gate of the outdoor venue. It was decorated to look like the theme for our fairy tail wedding. There was a huge wooden gazebo with tables and chairs underneath it. There was a giant book behind it. It started with once upon a time and told our story. Well the part that people knew at least.
Taylor and Gabby ran up to us. "Hey you guys, oh were so excited to see you!" Said Gabby. "Yea and I'm sure you'll be disappointed to know I'm not going to jump you Hunter. I've moved on." Said Taylor flippantly. "Oh have you?" I said raising my eyebrows. "Well not with a guy...just from that thought...I'm a good person okay?" Said Taylor throwing her hands up. "ANYways, what's new with you?" Gabby asked.
"Just cranking out the line, I'm so close to the finish line." I said. "Oh that's great. How are you going to handle everything? I mean once you get it done and Ya'll go to London?" Gabby asked. "Well I was hopping to talk with Ya'll about that. So I'll have a position opening soon. In Nashville that is. It pays super well and one or two people could do it. The job entails making sure the production of my line goes off without a hitch. Makes phone calls and does face to faces with potential clients. Meets with clients for custom orders...." "Why are you hiring somebody?" Taylor asked.
"Well were going to be gone for a month in London and then when we get back go on tour while I work on my second line. I mean it took me months to get this one out and I don't want to rush with the second one." I said. "And you shouldn't have to. Are you interviewing people?" Taylor asked.
I sighed. "Well I suppose I will unless you know, you two want the job." I mumbled into my hand. "Wait did you just offer us a job?" Gabby asked. "What?" Taylor said. "Now I can finally marry Scotty McCreery." She gasped. "Um you know he married Gabi right?" I asked. "What?! no way!" Taylor wined. "I already told you that. Can we stay focused?" Gabby asked. "Yes thank you, look it's a lot to think about and I don't need an answer right away." I said. "I know you just got new roommate and don't wanna leave her hanging." I said. "I'll never get married!" Taylor wined.
I rolled my eyes. "Actually I might have an idea. You guys are going to walk down the aisle with Jackson and Ethan." Hunter looked around until he found them and waved them over. "I'll even let you choose." Said Gabby. They walked up. "Hey you guys!" Said Jackson they did a high five. Taylor walked around the two of them. "Um what is she doing?" Ethan asked. "This is Taylor and that's Gabby, they'll be walking down the aisle at the wedding with you two." Said Hunter. Taylor stood next to Jackson nodding appreciatively.
She rubbed her hand down his chest. "Not cutting it, up up." She said motioning to his shirt. He pulled it up grinning. "Yep this'll work. I'll take him." Taylor said. "I like her." Said Jackson. She took his hand and they walked off. "Wooow." Said Ethan, eyes wide. "Would you rather be pared with her?" Gabby asked pointing. "No, I am so good. I'm not really a fan of um...crazy? You seem nice though." He said putting out his hand. She took it and they walked off. "She is crazy but it's oddly enough one of her better qualities." Said Gabby
"I hope that works out." I said. Hunter chuckled. "What could go wrong?" He asked rolling his eyes and grinning. "Oh look our moms are talking." I pointed. "Think it's going good?" He asked. "I sure hope so let's go say hi." I said. "Oh my baby!" Hunter's mom ran up and wrapped him in a hug. "My beautiful daughter in law, how are you?" She asked pulling me into a hug next. "Hi, Lynette I'm great. Where did our dad's go?" I asked. "On the grill." My mom said pointing. "Good to see you J." She said giving me a hug. "How are you Hunter?" She asked. "I'm well!" He said giving her a hug. We walked around saying hi to all the guest's.
My stomach let out a growl. "That's my cue to find food." I said leading Hunter to the long table of food. "Fine by me, I'm starving." Hunter said. We fixed a plate and took a seat next to a few aunts and uncles. When we had finished the food it was time to open presents.
I was handed a stack of envelopes. "We didn't know what to get you so some of us got together on some gifts." Said my mom. The first few cards had money in it. But not dollars, pounds. "This is so great thank you." I said. The next car had a gift voucher for a tea room. Oh that's so London. Then there was one with passes to the London eye. The tower of London and big Ben. A hop on hop off tour on a double decker bus. A tour to see Buckingham palace and the changing of the guard. A tour at St. Paul's cathedral. "Wow you guys this is great, we won't have to wait in line for any of this!! Thank you!" I gushed.
Then there were various boxes. I saw the name tag on the first one handed to me, Taylor. I was scared to open it. I lifted the lid. "Okay thank you Taylor!" I said putting the lid back on. "Wait lift it up!" Said Hunters aunt. I groaned lifting out the lingerie. Several people hooted and whistled. I put it back and set it aside. "Thank you Taylor." Said Hunter. I hit his arm. "What?" He said laughing. We then opened up the usual home goods that we'd need. I understand the issue. Hunter had his own house and so did I. So we had things.
Once we opened everything we thanked our guest's. Thankfully they didn't bring out any cheesy games, like make toilet paper wedding dresses. We mingled about as people started to leave. We weren't mad it was getting late and I was tired. But it was great to see everybody. "Can we stay to clean up?" I asked our mothers. "No you may not. Get back to the hotel. It was your shower." Said Lynette. "Okay then we'll see you guys later." Hunter said waving.
I found Gabby. "Can we meet for lunch before we go?" I asked. "Yes I'd like to talk with Taylor and then talk with you." Said Gabby. "Speaking of, where is Taylor?" Hunter asked looking around. Gabby sighed. "She left with Jackson about ten minutes ago. They were making out by a tree or something?" She said shrugging. "Well dang it, tell her not to start anything with him! She might be moving to Nashville!" I said. Gabby chuckled. "Have you met her? It means nothing to her. She will be happy to move to Nashville and find somebody." Gabby said waving me off. I sighed. She was right. "Okay I'll text you with details." I said. "Great, I'll let Taylor know." She said giving us both a hug.
We headed back to the hotel.
