Flashback, 4 years ago...

A heartbroken Matt was in tears in the waiting room. He had never left Katie's side in the ambulance after the tragic car accident that left both her and their unborn child fighting for their lives. The couple had been together ever since they left school, and had spoken about starting a family a year ago. But their hopes and dreams had suddenly come crashing back down to earth.

Matt: It's all my fault... It's all my fault...

As he whispered to himself, he saw the doctor who was taking care of Katie open the door. He rushed over to him.

Dr. Morgan: We have some good news and some bad news. If you'd like to take a seat...

The two sat down and Dr Morgan explained what had happened.

Dr. Morgan: I'm terribly sorry, but Katie didn't make it. Her injuries were too serious and we lost her.

Matt: Oh god...

Dr. Morgan: There is some good news, though. We were able to perform an emergency C-section and get the baby out. Remarkably, the baby seemed to be in perfect health, and there are no problems with her.

Matt then looked up slowly at the doctor.

Matt: You mean...

Dr Morgan: Congratulations, you have a lovely, healthy, baby girl. Would you like to meet her?

Matt silently nodded as they went to the newborns room. When they arrived, Matt saw a cute little baby wrapped up in towels, and was fast asleep.

Matt: My god... S-she's beautiful...

Dr Morgan: She still needs a name, do you have any thoughts?

Matt: Amy. Amy Watkins.

He gently picked her up from the cot and as he held her, she woke up and saw her dad.

Matt: Hello, gorgeous. You're lovely, aren't you? Aren't you?!

He then decided on something brave.

Matt: Can you take me to Katie? I feel like Amy should see her mother at least once in her life.

Dr Morgan accepted the request, and they went to Katie's room, where she lay, motionless. Matt took one look and almost immediately, began crying as he came to terms with the fact that he had lost his childhood sweetheart.

Matt: Hey, Katie. Look, we have a baby!

He gently grabbed Katie's limp hand and held it tightly as he calmed Amy down, who was crying.

Matt: Look, Ames. It's your mummy... But I'm sorry, we'll never get to see her again.

As Dr Morgan then took hold of Amy, Matt gave Katie the last words he would tell her.

Matt: I'm so sorry, baby. All of this should never have happened. But I'll make sure Amy lives the best life, and I'll always remind her of you. I love you, sweet pea. And I always will. Forever.

He kissed Katie's forehead before he broke down completely and then left the room. He took a deep breath and then took Amy, who was being held by Dr Morgan in a baby carrier.

Matt: I'm sorry, my baby girl. But... that's the last time we're ever gonna see Mummy. She would have loved you, from the moment you were born...

He kissed Amy's forehead before leaving her at the hospital overnight, and taking her home the next day.

Present day, 4 years later...

Matt was sleeping at his house in Miami, with his daughter rushing into his room to wake him up.

Amy: Daddy, daddy! Wakey wakey!

Matt: Ugh... Come on, sweetie, daddy needs a lie in...

Amy: But don't we gotta go somewhere today?

He suddenly shot up from his pillow and realised that today was the day. Today was the day he would be debuting in WWE. A week ago, he got the call from Triple H, a meeting was held to discuss the contract terms and he was then told that he would be debuting on the Smackdown after Wrestlemania.

Matt: Oh yeah, how could I forget that?! We're gonna go to Daddy's new job! You're gonna get to see him wrestle!

Amy: Yay Daddy! I wanna see you win and beat up the bad guys!

He laughed and picked up his 4 year old daughter to spin her around in the air, as she giggled uncontrollably before putting her back down on the bed.

Matt: Okay, let me get ready before we go...

He then left Amy to watch her favourite cartoon of Mickey Mouse while he got ready and had a shower. When he finished, he messaged the one other woman he would let into his life, Pamela, while Amy just called her Auntie Bayley.

Matt: Hey, Pam.

Pamela: Hey, Matt! Today's the big day!

Matt: Yeah, today I debut in WWE! Fair to say, Amy is more than a little excited!

Pamela: I'm sure she is! Also, you both will be glad to know that I'm also heading to Smackdown from next week due to my Smackdown Women's title win at Wrestlemania !

Matt: Nice! I'll break the good news to Amy, cos she misses you!

Pamela: Aww, I miss her too!

Amy then came running to the bathroom as she needed the toilet and saw her dad on the phone.

Amy: Who's on the phone, Daddy?

Matt: It's Auntie Bayley! Say hello!

Amy then put the phone to her ear.

Amy: Hey, Auntie Bayley!

Pamela: Hey there, short stuff! How you doing?

Amy: I'm okay, I woke up daddy this morning!

Pamela: Was he fast asleep again?

Amy: Yeah, I'm excited to see him wrestle tonight! Will you be there to watch with me?

Pamela: Yeah, I will be! We can see your daddy win!

Amy: Yay! Bye Auntie Bayley!

Pamela: Bye, sweetie!

Amy then gave the phone back to Matt, and then she and her dad got ready for the rest of the day.

Meanwhile...

Pamela hung up the phone and got ready for tonight, along with her room mate, Leah.

Leah: Was that Matt?

Pamela: Yeah, and his daughter, Amy.

Pamela saw that Leah looked a little startled.

Leah: You never said he had a daughter! Well, there goes my hopes...

Pamela: Well, actually, Matt's girlfriend, Katie, died 4 years ago from a serious car accident. From what he told me, it was a miracle that Amy herself wasn't hurt.

Leah: Whoa, so he's been through a lot, raising his kid by himself...

Pamela: Yeah, I try to help when I can, I was the one Matt turned to when he needed it. Me and him are like brother and sister, we always look out for each other.

She showed Leah a picture of the three of them together, and almost immediately, Leah felt her heart speed up a few beats and also bit her lip at the sight of him. His body was like it was sculpted from the gods.

Leah: So you've... never really had any feelings for him?

Pamela: I'll admit, I did when I first met him, but that was when I had no idea what he had been through. Once he opened up to me, I knew I had to suppress my feeling for him. But none of that matters now I have Fergal at my side. Who knows, maybe YOU could be the one for Matt!

Leah: As much as I would love to take you up on that, Bay, I barely know the guy. I'll bide my time for now, and see what he's like.

Leah's mind: My God, he's a dreamboat... I wonder if one day, I can make him mine and make him believe in love again...

Leah was then snapped out of her thoughts and her daydream by Pamela clapping her hands in front of her face.

Pamela: Yoo hoo, earth to Leah?!

Leah: Sorry, I was lost in thought there. You were saying?

Pamela: I was saying you'll get the chance to meet them for yourself tonight, Matt's finally signed with WWE and is debuting on Smackdown, after your match with Mandy.

Leah: God, she's so annoying. So what if she was on a magazine cover? No need to brag this much about it...

Pamela: Yeah, true. Come on then, let's roll!

At the arena...

Smackdown was about to start, and Matt, along with Amy had arrived at the arena, and they were on their way to meet up with Pamela.

Matt: So, Ames, who you looking forward to seeing tonight?

Amy: You, daddy!

Matt: I mean, besides me!

Amy: Carmella!

Matt: Well, you never know, maybe we could see her tonight!

Amy: Yay!

The two then saw Pamela talking with Fergal and Amy ran towards them to hug her.

Amy: Auntie Bayley!!!

Pamela: Hey, you!

They finally hugged as Finn and Matt watched on.

Matt: Hey, guys.

Fergal: So you're finally here then, Matt!

Matt: Yeah, from what I've been told, I'm gonna be confronting someone. I'm gonna be a face at first, but I've been told I'm gonna turn into a heel soon, so it'll be interesting who I'm gonna be out there with...

Just as the 4 of them were about to head for Pamela's locker room, Triple H then came over and spoke with Matt.

Triple H: Sorry to interrupt, Matt, but you're needed at gorilla. You're gonna be interrupting Lars Sullivan as he comes to attack Truth and Carmella after her match against Mandy.

Matt: Sounds interesting...

He turned back to Amy and crouched down.

Matt: Now, you, be good for Auntie Bayley, okay?

Amy: Yeah I will Daddy! Good luck out there!

Matt: Thanks, beautiful. Pam, keep an eye on her while I'm gone.

Pamela: Don't you worry, Matt, she'll be fine!

Amy hugged her dad's legs before he had to go to gorilla. From there, he saw Carmella in action against Mandy and saw that she was hurt.

Matt: Ouch...

He saw that Mandy choc-blocked the left leg and then rolled Carmella up to get the win.

Greg: Here is your winner, Mandy Rose!

As Mandy and Sonya celebrated, Truth then tended to Leah, before Lars then made his intimidating entrance, and made his way to the ring, flooring Truth with the Freak Accident, followed by a huge running sit-out powerbomb, taking Truth out. The Freak then stared down at Leah before the arena suddenly went black. This was time for Matt to make his move. He sprinted down to the ring, and when the lights came back on, he was dressed in his hooded bodywarmer and a mask, standing in between Lars and Leah.

Matt: Bring it.

He let Lars miss wildly with a clothesline before nailing him with a move he called the Throwback, similar to an RKO, but jumping over his opponent and planting him face first in the ground. It took three Throwbacks to get Lars to stay down. He then revealed his identity to the crowd, who erupted as one when Matt's mask was torn off. While Leah listened to the crowd, she knew exactly who they were chanting for. The man who had saved her from certain doom was Matt Watkins.

Leah: So that's Matt... My god, he's even more attractive in person...

She got lost in thought again as he then picked her up and carried her bridal style from the ring, towards the backstage area, where he put her down.

Leah: So, you must be Matt.

Matt: Yep, that's me! And you're Carmella, I take it?!

Leah: Yeah, but just call me Leah.

Matt: Well, you're one heck of an attractive woman, Leah. Whoever has you as a girlfriend is one lucky man.

Leah: Well, I...

She was interrupted by the sound of Amy's voice running towards them.

Amy: Daddy!!!

The 4 year old hugged her dad's legs before he picked her up and hugged her properly. Pam and Fergal soon followed her to meet up with Matt.

Pam: Hey Leah, you okay?

Amy: Yeah, Miss Carmella, are you okay?

Leah: Yeah, Amy, I'm fine, thanks. My leg just hurts a little. Are you a fan of me?

Amy: Yeah, I loved it when you won the championship!

Leah: Yeah, me too! Anyway, I've gotta go now, but tell Bayley or your daddy that you can come and see me anytime!

Amy: Yeah!

The 4 year old then nodded as she watched Leah limp off slightly. While she was walking off, Matt muttered something to himself.

Matt: Wow, I wish you were single... You could be just what I'm looking for...

Pamela: What was that, Matt?

Matt: Oh, nothing.

Meanwhile, as Leah walked off, she talked to herself too.

Leah: I really want to be the one for you, Matt.
