Comfort
Eventually, Alphonse left the hospital, explaining how he needed to get going. Ed had tried to basically beg him into staying, talking about how he didn't want to be left with the "Bastard". Al simply chuckled and left the room. Now, Ed sat with Roy's arms no longer around him. However, he found himself wanting to be held by the male.
"Hey, Mustang?" The blonde asked quietly. The raven haired Brigadier General looked at the blonde.
"What is it Edward?" He replied softly.
"Can.....Can I be honest with you?" He questioned. "Of course, you always were after all." Roy explained, smiling a little at the blonde.
"I'm scared." He found it funny. He found it funny how just those two little words could make him freeze up with shock.
"I don't want to die....I wanna live, and see the world, and see Al make his accomplishments. And....I want to see you become Fuhrer..." The blonde seemed to whimper. And suddenly, he was pulled into a hug, and met the chest of Roy Mustang.
"It's okay Ed, it'll be okay." He whispered quietly. The blonde in his arms could only cling to his shirt as he began to cry. And Roy let him. He had began to understand why Ed pretended to be okay earlier. For Al's sake. He didn't want to worry his little brother. He wanted to show him he'd be alright. Now that Alphonse wasn't here, Edward allowed himself to cry.
He allowed himself to be held by Roy, and comforted by his words of reassurance. Roy was amazed though. He was amazed by the fact that Ed had trusted him, and felt comfortable enough around him to cry like this. But Roy felt his heart crack. These Brother's have been through enough.
They've just gotten themselves back to normal, and yet now they have to deal with something even more painful? Roy was just beginning to think that maybe Truth had it out for them, and it had decided to make their lives hell.
