-Part 3-
Your 'classes' on Alternian culture and words had been a huge success and Kankri had been visiting your dorm every single weekend since then to help out. Roxy was getting suspicious, she wasn't used to you bringing boys or girls or really anyone to the dorm and yet here you were, bringing Kankri there every weekend to help you educate yourself so you know everything there is to know about Alternia.
As time goes by, you can't help but notice the butterflies in your stomach, the way your cheeks heat up whenever Kankri does something cute like bite the end of his pen and furrow his eyebrows in thought, his eyes like almonds as he thins them and tries to find ways to explain his thoughts.
"I think quadrants are a t9pic f9r an9ther time, y9u must 6e getting tired," Kankri glanced over at you. You were forced to come back to reality when you noticed he found out you were staring at him.
"Oh uh yeah, we should take a break. Have you ever seen a human horror movie before?"
Kankri raised an eyebrow. Alternian's had horror movies of course but nothing could really scare them since their actual life was so messed up. Horror movies were more like reality TV shows.
"Never a human 9ne 6ef9re, 6ut there are a few p9tential triggers and I must ask h9w--"
"Hey you guys!" Roxy slid into the kitchen and pushed herself up onto one of the benches. She was definitely up to something, you could tell by the tone of her voice. She was swinging her legs back and forth and listening intently though the conversation you were previously having was interrupted by her and now all she could listen to was the sound of the silence she had created.
"Uh, Roxy, we were just about to take a break and watch a horror movie, got any good ones we can watch?"
"Yeah! We've got Netflix remember."
Kankri sighed and shrugged when you looked over at him for approval. The sofa was practically calling for you as you slumped over and made yourself comfortable, Kankri sitting beside you while Roxy was across on another sofa.
It was night now, around seven pm and Kankri was contemplating going home, the movie had caught his attention however and he found it difficult to get up. Plus, the fact that each jump scare had you squeaking and jumping out of your seat amused him.
He was really getting tired however. For some odd reason he didn't even need sopor slime to make him drowsy and before he knew it everything went black.
-----------------Time skip brought to you by that feeling when you remember where you put something that's been missing for a while.-------------------
Birds were chirping outside, flying from tree to tree and rattling branches. Roxy had left both you and Kankri snoozing on the sofa last night after she got sick of the movie you were watching. She didn't wake either of you, leaving you there to see what would happen. Both of you were still sound asleep now, however your peaceful slumber was interrupted by a familiar clicking sound.
"ROXY! DELETE THAT!" You whisper yelled at the blondish pink haired girl who ran out of the room as soon as she noticed you had caught her. You'd peeled your eyes open faster than you thought possible only to find out you'd been betrayed by your roommate who was snapping pictures of you asleep on the sofa. You would've chased after her, but something was holding you down to the sofa. Something warm.
Kankri was sleeping soundly beside you. His hair was messy and slightly covered his face, it reminded you of scattered hay. His eyes were closed and he had relaxed into the sofa and into your side. You smiled to yourself before looking over at his arms, noticing his right arm wasn't limp on the sofa like his left and upon further inspection, you noticed it was wrapped around you, in a position like he was trying to protect you from something in his sleep. Not only that but you noticed that in your sleep you must have cuddled up to him too, as your head had snapped up from his shoulder when you woke up.
A blush attacked your cheeks as you attempted to move Kankri's arm without waking him up, but your attempted stealth mission had failed as Kankri's grey eyelids separated and the whites of his eyes moved around the room. They landed on you before they followed his arms and he moved away as quickly as he had woken up, brushing himself off and tugging at the neck of his turtleneck to allow air to cool down his rapidly heating body and bright red cheeks.
"I'm extremely s9rry (Y/N)," he mumbled under his breath before clearing his throat and avoiding your eyes. You laughed slightly, and picked up your phone off of the floor.
"It's okay, It's not like I minded at all."
Kankri blushed. He found himself looking over at you. He noticed a blush similar to his own coating your cheeks and couldn't help but smile as your phone screen lit up your face. The room was still partially dark due to the curtains still being closed from the night before. He shuffled and moved to make himself more comfortable on the sofa, avoiding looking at you for a while before giving in and watching you curiously.
You squinted your eyes, they still weren't used to the light yet and your brightness was all the way up. After blinking away a few tears, they finally cooperated and focused on the bold numbers displaying the time and date.
Monday, 8:30am.
You sighed and relaxed into the sofa, closing your eyes again and stretching before you suddenly stiffened and remembered your first class today was at nine. You could feel your face turning pale as you turned to Kankri in a frantic panic.
"I'm so sorry Kankri but I'm going to have to kick you out right now, I'm about to be incredibly late for my first class," you stood from the sofa and offered a hand to help your friend stand. "We should definitely do this again, one hundred percent."
Kankri looked like he had just seen a ghost and got up off your sofa after you showed him the time on your phone, it turns out you're both headed to the same place this morning and have exactly twenty four minutes to get ready and sprint to campus. Kankri groaned and ran to your bathroom, splashing water on his face and spraying deodorant, wearing the same clothes as the day before which bugged him (though all he had was more turtlenecks and more of the same pants), but there was nothing he could do. If he chose to walk back to his house he'd miss the class all together.
In the time it took him to rush out the door you had got ready and passed Roxy who was making herself a martini in the kitchen, swirling the olive on a stick around in the glass before lifting it to her lips.
"Roxy c'mon it's too early for that, I thought you were planning on stopping."
"I wasssss," Roxy slurred. "But I just-hic-started thinking about stufffff and now I'm sad."
"I can't talk right now but when I get home we're getting fries and we're talking this out okay?" You shoved your binder filled with all of your history notes into your backpack and zipped it, chucking it over a shoulder and hurrying out the door. You heard Roxy hum in the background and then left your dorm at last.
--------------------------------------Time skip brought to you by Strider shades-------------------------------
You walked into the lecture room, carrying a binder, pencil case and laptop. The teacher at the front of the classroom didn't seem to have started yet, thank god you weren't late. You sat your stuff down on an empty desk and slumped into your seat.
It took a few minutes for everyone to arrive, so you decided to pull out your sketchbook and draw something. You could draw some flowers or... Kankri... Or you could draw some animals... Or... Kankri...
You pulled a sketching pencil out of your pencil case after searching through multiple pens and markers and flipped to an empty page. It couldn't possibly hurt to draw Kankri, I mean... It's not like anyone is going to see it.
You remembered seeing the sleeping Kankri beside you. It bought a blush and a smile to your face. Your pencil glided across the page, creating a perfect image of Kankri's messy hair and calm expression. You cursed yourself for not having asked Roxy to send you the picture she had taken before you made her delete it. You could've drawn it all and hung it in your room.
The more you drew, the more you thought about him. From last night to earlier when you met him in the library. A blush crept up to your cheeks again. Did you really like him that much? You sighed heavily, closing your sketchbook to avoid thinking about it any longer. Your timing couldn't have been any better as a smirking troll who smelt like trouble and salt pulled the chair back from the table beside you. Your eyes moved all over the room and you noticed plenty of empty chairs. This troll was definitely up to something.
You let curiosity take over and took a short glance to your left. The troll had a leather jacket covering a white shirt with a purple Aquarius symbol on it. You were right about the scent of trouble. He was sitting on the side of his chair facing towards you. His legs were stretched out across the space between you two. One of his arms was resting on the back of his chair while the other one held a cigarette that he was smoking.
He smirked again as he noticed you looking at him. His grin showed sharp teeth. What kind of troll was he?
"Like vwhat you see?"
The trolls teasing voice snapped you back to reality. You blushed in embarrassment and turned away from him. You let out a loud sigh so that your frustration with him was apparent and rolled your eyes when he chuckled. He was looking you up and down and you could feel the anger bubbling up.
Thank gog the teacher finally started class, he no longer had an excuse to talk to you and moved back around to focus on work. You opened up your book as the teacher began the lecture. The troll beside you put out his cigarette on the edge of his desk and threw it somewhere behind him. You hated him already and he'd only spoken to you once.
The class was painfully long but all good and horrible things must come to an end and as soon as you heard the bell ring you were up out of your seat and speeding towards the door. You had about an hour before your next class, so you decided to head back to your dorm and check up on Roxy. Maybe you could get a little studying done before your next class, you knew you'd have an excruciating test next, so you might as well make it a little easier on yourself.
It should've been a simple task, walk down the hallway, go into your dorm, see if your roommate is okay, get those fries you promised and talk out her problems, but before you could make it there someone grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you around to face them.
"Slovw dovwn kitten."
You snickered and aggressively pulled your hand out of the familiar troll's grip. He only laughed, it didn't seem like his confidence was bruised at all by how obviously you weren't interested. As you turned away, he moved closer to you and he grabbed you by the hips, whispering into your ear.
"Vwell, if your so eager to leawve, you should leawve here vwith me."
You growled, but his grip didn't get any less tight. In fact, it tightened.
"You'd have better luck with a dog, you look enough like one to confuse it into leaving with you."
The troll chuckled again and moved his head to sniff your hair. You could feel the hair on the back of your neck sticking up, you were angry now. Furious, it was time to do something about this. So you spun around still in his grip and lifted a leg to kick him right where it hurts most. You weren't sure if it'd have the same affect on trolls as it did on humans considering their biology was different, but you worked out it did as he gawked and curled in on himself. He groaned in pain and his hands left your hips.
"Vwhat a diva," he smirked. The only reason you hadn't left yet is because you wanted one of those cliché moments, so you waited for him to regain his composure and slapped him in the face, hard enough that he paused and kept his face to the side. You had hit him so hard a bright violet hand mark was left behind on his cheek. You doubted that'd go away any time soon.
"There's more where that came from, don't ever touch me again."

(A/N)
Hey there!
So if you're reading this for a second time and you're noticing quite a few changes, I'm rewriting most of this fanfic and I'm trying to keep as much as possible the same as the original, but I wrote most of this before I really knew what proper writing looked like. I apologise if the magic in all of this isn't the same now that a lot is changed, but I really hope it's better now than it was before!
