»»----- Chapter Two -----««
Y/N POV
Just as I was about to put the letter on my parents' bed, I heard Eomma screaming her lungs out. At first I thought that maybe Appa was pranking her or something but if it was a prank, Appa would have been laughing right now and Eomma would have started her long taunts. But everything was so quiet...
A bit bothered with the dead silence, I went downstairs to check if everything was alright, with the letter still in my hand. I walked downstairs calling out for Eomma and Appa.
"Eomma?... Appa?... What happened?... Is everything alright?..." I kept asking but I got no reply.
I went in the living room, but nobody was there. I then went to the kitchen, nobody there either. I start thinking. They can't be in their room, I just came from there. The living room and kitchen are also empty. Where can they be? Maybe Eomma and Appa are outside. Yeah, I should check there..."
And with that, I went back to the living room and started to walk towards the front door when I saw the front door was slightly open. I walked cautiously towards the door thinking that there might be someone there except of my parents. I put the letter in my pocket and grabbed my dad's baseball bat and opened the door immediately and walked out in defense position, ready to strike anyone who was a stranger and posed the signs of danger.
I quickly looked around the place and saw nobody there. That's weird... I thought to myself. My parents can never leave the doors open like that and just be nowhere. I was about to take out my phone from my pocket when my letter fell. I bent over and picked up the letter and just as I was about to get back up, I saw a pool of blood and my mother laying lifeless on the ground with with her eyes open and blood all over her neck. Eomma!!!
I ran to her to check if she is alright. I picked her head up and put it on my lap thinking that she is conscious but when I looked at her, her eyes were not moving. They were just open and fixed to the front. I felt my heart get heavier and heavier as tears started to uncontrollably break out of my eyes when my fingers moved around her wrist to find a pulse.
I felt no pulse and so to my denial I then put my finger on her neck, no matter how hard I tried, the tears in my eyes kept blurring my vision and falling off my cheeks like a waterfall. My mother had no pulse and she was not even breathing. Her eyes were open and her skin went pale white and ice cold. I cried as I brushed my hand over face and closed her eyes, knowing what that means. I didn't want to accept that my mother is no more.
I cried while hugging my mother close to my chest, taking short sharp breaths as if all the air from the atmosphere was gone because of the grieving situation going on around me. All of a sudden I put my head up slightly towards the car thinking of taking Eomma to the hospital but then I saw a hand near the back tire covered in blood.
I walked slowly towards that hand and saw that Appa was laying behind the car. His eyes were also open and blood- shod. His entire body looked contracted and small and his face looked pale white like Eomma's did. Appa!!! I ran to my father and shook him thinking that he would wake up from this deep sleep but nothing happened. I checked Appa's pulse and all I could feel was his ice cold skin.
"One minute... my family was happy for me... we were talking, laughing and I was together with them... And the other minute... I am all alone... I have nobody left to who would actually care about me... everything has changed for me... My entire world has broken down..."
I looked at my father and then turned my head towards my mother. I then put my head down and cried as these words trembled out of my mouth.
In the evening...
Author's POV
It was getting dark since Y/N was so traumatized by the death of her parents that she just sat in between her mother and father and just stared into complete space. Her neighbour, Mrs. Bowie was coming back from work when she saw the horrific sight of two dead bodies covered in blood and their helpless daughter just sitting there in shock. She immediately called the police reporting them about the situation while trying to console Y/N who hasn't spoken a word after that.
A few minutes later the police arrived. The sirens and flashing lights of police cars and ambulances filled Y/N's street. Huge yellow tapes surrounded Y/N's house as the ambulance driver put Y/N's parents' bodies in the bag ready to take them for the autopsy.
Y/N sat on the stairs of her house porch, hands trembling with blood dried on them. Even though she was quiet, the tsunami of tears could hardly stop rushing out of her eyes. She looked down at her hand and saw the letter that she was going to leave behind for her parents before she went off to Seoul. She opened the letter and read it again, the last part where she wrote take care and I Love You were wiped out in blood. She had this sense of feeling that her love for her parents just wasn't enough to save them from never coming back.
It was starting to get cold and dark outside but that didn't stop her from just sitting there like a statue. A detective then came and put a blanket around her shoulders and sat next to her.
The detective was a young man who had quite handsome and charming features. By the looks of how he was telling everyone what to do and what to look for, he looked like he was the main leader of the search team.
???: It's not easy to come out the grief of losing both your parents at the same time right? But you have to trust in life because life is like a leap of faith, you can't trust it until you jump.
Y/N finally broke her silence and spoke
Y/N: Hmm. I think what you really mean to say is that life is unpredictable?
???: Well, something like that.
Y/N: Yeah, it sure is unpredictable. REALLY unpredictable for me. One minute my parents were here and now the next minute I found them dead in a bath of blood...
Just as Y/N said that, the tears from her eyes started to fall again like crazy.
The detective slowly put his hand on Y/n's arm trying to quieten her down.
???: I lost my parents too. My mother died of cancer and my father died of a liver failure. I can relate to your situation but I cannot exactly understand how you feel.
Y/N: Thank you detective...?
???: Lee Yong Bok, but you can call me Felix
Y/N: Ok..., have you found what happened to my parents. I mean like why were they bleeding and which bastard did this to them?
Felix: Not quite, that's why I need to ask you some questions if you are feeling alright to answer them. They can really help us to find what really happened and who did this.
Y/N: Yeah sure. If that helps to find who did this then I will try to help you as much as I can.
After a while finally being able to control herself in hope of helping Detective Felix to catch the culprit.
Felix: Ok so, did your parents ever get in conflict with someone around your neighborhood or maybe at work?
Y/N: No. Not that I now of. They have always been very nice to everyone and helped people in anyway they ever could.
Felix: Ok, I heard that your mother doesn't like your next door neighbour Mrs. Bowie. What is the cause of that?
Y/N: Well, they had nothing too serious going on between them. But it was just that when I was little, Mrs. Bowie always bragged about how her children are in the top universities in the world, which kind of got my mom on the nerves. She just didn't like how Mrs. Bowie thought that I was a good for nothing kind of person and that is when my mom proved her wrong by getting me a university entrance in Seoul.
Felix: Wow, your mom was one hell of a strong and determined woman right?
Y/N: Yeah, that's right. Did you find out why my parents were bleeding? Like were they cut or shot? Please just tell me. I want to know...
Felix: Well the autopsy results of your parents has come back and it shows that something was lodged into the neck of your parents causing them to die of blood loss.
Just by hearing that, Y/N's heart sank to the bottom of her stomach.
Y/N: Do... you know... what was... lodged in...?
Y/N asked, controlling herself, trying not to have another emotional breakdown.
Felix: Well it looks like something long, and there are two of them which makes it look like snake bites. However, snake bites can never be as big as the one on your parents' neck. The autopsy operator thinks that it was a dog attack but then how can a dog just leave two teeth marks and not rip off the flesh.
Y/N looked at Felix confused, trying to put all the puzzle pieces together, trying to find a lead or a clue. Just as she was about to run off in grief, a silver necklace with a thin black rope as its chain caught her attention. She cautiously picked the necklace up trying not to let anybody notice her doing this. She knew that the case of her parents' has become really complicated and sooner or later they would knock on her door one day saying that the case is closed or pending due to no leads or clues being found.
She looked at the necklace in anger knowing that it might be the culprits and that she should not give it in to the police because they can do nothing about it saying that it could belong to anyone. But Y/N knew that the only bridge between her and the culprit is this necklace. She will find the culprit herself no matter what...
Felix told all the police officers to wrap the investigation for the day. He then turned to Y/N and said,
Felix: It's been a very long day for you today and so much as happened. I think you should go inside and take some rest. If you need anyone to stay back with you, then I can get one of my team members to stay with you just to make sure that you are alright.
Y/N: No its alright. I think I will be able to manage. Don't worry about me, I am fine now.
Felix: Ok Miss. Y/N. I will take your leave. Please take care of yourself and I might not be seeing you for a few days because of the investigation so please be careful and stay at home. Everything will be alright, time is the greatest healer. Good luck for your future.
By hearing Felix's words, Y/N knew for sure that they will never be meeting again and its not his fault. The case is complicated and it would eventually come to a stop if they don't find anything. But Y/N also knew that she didn't want the police to find the culprit, she wants to find him and punish him so that her mind can be at peace once she sees the culprit getting its punishment.
With that, Y/N went inside the house and Felix and his search team exited the premises and went off to investigate. Y/N took and seat and took out the necklace thinking to herself,
Y/N: I know this will be difficult especially without any help from the police but I will have to do this myself and get that filthy culprit punished.
I will do whatever it takes and I will find him...

Hey guys, hope that you liked this chapter. Really sorry if it is long. I just felt like the specific descriptions were needed to make the readers feel that they are actually in the story. I don't know if it worked, but I tried my best.
Like I said, writing a story is new to me because this is my first Wattpad story and I am learning as I go.
Byeee. See you in the next chapter.
