Location: Eastern Quebec, Canada

At the middle of the night, in a police station, the sheriff was at his desk as he looked through his files and sorted through the various files of missing people that has disappeared over the past couple of months. He sighed as he got up from his chair and walked to his map of Eastern Quebec on the wall as he pinned a picture of a fourteen year old girl and placed it on Lake Superior, five miles away from the town.

Sheriff: Miranda mutilated, John decapitated... these people are getting killed left and right and there is no solid lead on who it is.

He sorted through another file as it revealed pictures of the dead corpses, Miranda, the fourteen year old girl, her skin was ripped off clean and chunks of her body were missing and John's body was missing his head and his neck was in a U-Shape as his forearms were missing and he was impaled on a spike.

The officer placed the photos on his table and sorted them out in a the form of a timeline as he looked at them in order. He kept on watching until a call rang in and he walked over and picked up the phone.

Sheriff: This is the Police.

Woman: HELP PLEASE!!!

Immediately that slapped him out of his exhaustion as he pressed the tracker button to trace the call to its source.

Sheriff: What's happening?

Woman: SOMETHING IS CHASING ME, I'M IN THE WOODS, ITS GOING TO KILL ME!!!

Sheriff: Don't worry, we're on the way!!!

He slammed the phone down before grabbing his shotgun and running into the main room as his fellow officers looked at him surprised.

Sheriff: Get your shotguns, there is a woman getting chased by the killer!

They got up quickly and scrambled for their equipment as the Sheriff ran outside and got in his car before blaring the siren and driving off into the night towards the entrance to the forest outside of town. More police cars flooded behind him as he looked at the screen and saw the location of the woman from her cellphone as it kept on moving until suddenly it stopped and the signal disappeared.

Sheriff: Shit!

He gassed it as his vehicle zoomed down the trail with the only sounds being the flood of sirens going down the trail. As he got closer, he started blood trails on the dirt road that eventually led to a severed arm. He slammed his brakes and the car came to a stop as he got out immediately and had his shotgun ready as the officers behind him stopped and got their weapons ready.

Sheriff: Ma'am, are you here?!

His yell fell on deaf ears as it echoed throughout the woods but nothing replied back as he began to fear the worst until he heard the woman yell back at him in pain.

Woman: OVER HERE, HELP ME!!!

Sheriff: Let's move!

He ran in the direction of the voice which followed the blood trail as the officers followed behind as he dodged rocks and trees as the woman cried out more and in agony as they got closer and closer to the woman.

Woman: HELP ME, ITS GOING TO GET ME, ITS GO-!

The voice went silent as the Sheriff bursted into a clearing as the skinny trees surrounded the area as their was a body in the middle of the clearing. The body had little skin on it as the flesh was dark red as there was blood pockets all over her body as her clothes were shredded easily, her phone was right next to her with a cracked screen.

Officer 1: Shit, that thing stinks.

The Sheriff crept forward as he knelt down and noticed that the corpse was rotted and old, there was a white bloody card peaking out of her pocket as he picked it up and inspected it which made his eyes widened with horror.

Sheriff: Its Lily Sanders... it doesn't make any sense.

Officer 2: What doesn't?

Sheriff: She disappeared a month ago.... But she was the one who made the call.

Officer 3: Then where....

Lily's phone that was right next to the corpse suddenly began ringing as the officers jumped in fright as the call was answered by itself before a creepy and raspy voice spoke through the phone.

???: You're going.....to die....like her.

Sheriff: Wh-who are you?!

The call ended as the officers looked at each other before a cold breeze came upon the group as they shivered before looking around with their weapons as they looked in every direction before one officer spotted something unusual.

In the distance, to what looked like a tree, it was a very tall figure with antlers on either side of his head, the thing had to be at least 15ft tall and rippled with noticeable muscles.

Officer 4: What the fuck?

That alerted the rest fo the group as they spotted the figure and pointed their weapons at it as the Sheriff yelled at the strange figure.

Sheriff: GET ON THE GROUND, NOW!!!

The figure just stood still, completely motionless before the Sheriff gestured for his officers to take positions and some of them moved a little closer while some started creeping forward from the flanks.

Once in position, the Sheriff shouted one last time.

Sheriff: THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING!!!

This time the creature spoke but in the woman's voice which confirmed to the officers that this was the thing that was killing those people. Its voice teared through their mental barriers and echoed in their skulls as one officer dropped dead from the shock.

???: Madness consumes everything.....even you all.....hehehe.

Sheriff: FIRE!!!

One officer fired a bullet and the creature suddenly flexed itself to the side as the bullet zipped past before it roared and in the blink of an eye, it grabbed the officer before chomping down on his head and ripped it off as blood soaked its fur.

Officer 4: BEN!!!

The rest of the officers opened fire as the creature devoured Ben and impaled his corpse on a tree as the bullets made contact with its skin but no significant damage was done as he turned to them and they all got a clear look of its face. It was like the skull of a caribou but with large and sharp canine teeth and its eyes were hollowed out with one red dot in the middle for a pupil.

It snarled as the officers began reloading but it wasn't waiting for that to happen, it jumped onto a tree before blitzing towards another as the nearest officer fired a bullet but the monster flipped in the air to dodge it before landing on the ground and impaling him with its antlers.

The officer's lifeless body hung limp as it raised its head with no difficulty before he zoomed forward then to the left at a solid 90 degrees before snapping the wrists of another officer and chomping down on her neck.

Two officers ran forward and fired shots before the creature snarled and grabbed the body along with the one on its antler before jumping to the top of a tree. The officers now aimed upward as the monster dodged every bullet without even trying as it displayed impressive acrobatics while dodging the bullets.

One bullet closed in on his thigh but he jumped in the space between the treetops and curved his leg to let it go through the gap before jumping upward and tossing the corpses onto the top branches.

Turning around, it roared loudly as it echoed throughout the woods and some officers closed their ears as it still got through to their eardrums.

Using its arms, the creature pulled itself forward and slashed an officer in half before facing the rest of the officers and there were four of them left. They all aimed their shotguns and fired as the creature weaved through the trees and closed the distance.

The first officer was sliced in half before it jumped into the air and flipped towards the second officer and grabbed his hands with its foot and crushed it before pulling its foot down and slashed the officers face off before it landed back on the ground.

Getting on all fours, it dashed towards the third officer who yelled as he fired away but the bullets did nothing as it dug both of its claws into his stomach and ripped him apart before chomping down on the fourth officer's head.

Gobbling up the head, the creature roared loudly before he began sniffing the air as he smelled the last officer and he was hiding as he crawled on the ground and moved around.

The Sheriff was hiding behind a rock as he heard the rustles of the leaves which signalled where the creature was. He heard growl and snarl as it was looking for him and the sounds he was heard was making him sweat with nervousness.

The last sound sounded like a whine as he heard the creature move away from his location and the rustles were getting fainter and fainter until nothing was heard at all as he slowly got up and readied his shotgun and looked around as he saw the corpses of his fellow officers all disemboweled.

Sheriff: My god.

He walked around before looking around at all angles but the monster was nowhere to be seen as he panted and kept backing up until his back was braced against a tree.

Sheriff: I need to get back, I ne-

He froze when he heard a growl that was extremely close and out of the corner of his eyes to the bottom left, the massive snout of the monster was there from above him as it growled and he saw that the teeth were covered in blood.

The monster was on the very tree he was bracing against and he knew the slightest move will get him killed. He glanced at his shotgun and saw that it was loaded so he took in a breath before he yelled and tried to fire but it bit down on his upper body and raised him up easily as he began devouring him as his shotgun dropped from his hand.

Blood soaked the weapon as the creature devoured corpse and impaled the bloody skeleton onto its antlers as it howled to the sky and it echoed throughout the forest as the forest animals hid in fear for the new apex predator....is here to stay.
