I tied an apron around my waist, rolled up my sleeves, and pulled my hair into a bun. Strands of hair came loose and stuck to my face. I started baking a chocolate cake because I knew how much he loved chocolate. I look up and see Sebastian staring at me with admiration.

"Could I help in anyway?"

I smiled in agreement.

"It would be great if you could decorate."

He nodded.

"Of course."

He walked out of the kitchen, and I place the cake in the oven. I started to hum while I mixed ingredients together to make icing. I pull out the cake and dress it in icing. I touch the rim of the icing bowl, tasting the excess icing. I have to say it was pretty great tasting, but I hope he likes it. I grabbed the cake plate by its edges and heaved it out of the kitchen and into the mansion's hallway. I walked the cake into the ballroom and I saw that gold and silver were strung up in banners and streamers. I gasped.

"Sebastian this is beautiful!"

He smiled and stepped off the ladder.

"What kind of butler would I be if it wasn't?"

I smiled in joy, and placed the cake on the table.

"I'm going to get Finny I be returning soon. You should get the others."

He nodded and exited, and I ran out of the room and bumped into Finny.

He smiled and I waved awkwardly.

"Hey Finny I'm going to show you something, but you have to close your eyes."

He nodded excitedly, and closed his eyes. I grabbed his wrist and led him into the ballroom I let go of his wrist and hurried over to Mey Rin and Bard.

"SURPRISE!"

Finny opened his eyes and they shined like stars.

"Oh Boy! It's beautiful!"

I smiled in glee.

"Hold on I have something, I'll be right back."

I ran to my room and back with demon speed.

"Here."

I gave the elephant to Finny and he squealed with joy. He took it and hugged it close to his heart.

"You have to sing a song!"

Finny said jumping around.

"I can't I'm not-"

Finny pouted.

"Please!"

I sighed, and blushed.

"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you!"

"Happy birthday dear Finnian, happy birthday to you!"

Finny smiled.

"That was beautiful!"

I smiled, and shook my head, and felt Sebastian behind me.

"The young Master needs to see you."

I nodded curtly and excused myself, and walked into Ciel's office.

"Hello?"

Ciel looked up from his desk.

"Hello, Alina will you sit in this chair here?"

I nodded and sat in the chair.

"I see your injuries have healed."

I nodded timidly.

"Don't be afraid, I know you're not a threat. Sebastian told me everything."

I sighed.

"I should leave the manor."

He looked at me in disbelief.

"Why?"

I sighed shakily.

"I don't want to hurt anyone Ciel, Sebastian told me I was very powerful-"

He got out of his chair and placed his palms on the desk.

"You need to stay, this town needs someone like you to help."

I scoffed.

"Is that it is that the only reason! You're way better than me at this stuff!"

He sighed.

"Listen, I've been thinking...could you be a butler?"

I frown.

"I'm not going to eat your soul Ciel."

He shook his head.

"No just a regular butler, like just kind of stay close."

I smiled, and stood up.

"I think the correct term you're trying to say is friend."

He gulped.

"I never had a friend."

I gave him a hug.

"Well, now you have one!

He froze up.

" I accept your job offer, and I'll be staying."

I got up and looked him in the eye.

"Why did you call me here?"

He sighed.

"Alois Trancy has invited us to a costume ball, and I want you to attend along with the others."

I nodded.

"Who is this Alois Trancy?"

He scoffed.

"He's a piece of filth, but we have to go. We need to investigate."

I nodded.

"When is it?"

"Tonight."

I look in the mirror and the gold shined in the lamp light. Mey Rin told me to wear this, she told me that the Egyptian goddess theme would be a good one for me. I wasn't very keen on wearing it at first, but when I tried it on it felt perfect. The white cloth stopped just above my knees, and a golden snake belt coiled around my waist. The dress was sleeveless and triangles by my waist were cut. I wore shiny golden bangles and a headband. The shoes were weird they were golden heels that spiraled up until my knees. My hair was braided down my back, and my makeup was natural but elegant.

I gotta admit it is a little revealing, but It's a party it's supposed to be fun

My door opened, and Mey Rin peeked in, her two braids hung to the side.

"Mey Rin why did you want to be fisherwoman?"

She shrugged.

"Look at you, you're so beautiful."

I smiled.

"You can't go in with everyone else you have to have a special entrance, I'll tell Sebastian that we will go together yes we will."

She ran out of my room.

After they left Mey Rin grabbed a bag with materials.

"Okay how are we going to get there?"

Mey Rin grabbed a map out of her pocket.

"Sebastian gave me directions, yes he did."

She gave me the map and I smiled.

"Mey Rin hop on my back."

She looked at me confused then hopped on my back.

"What are we doing?"

"We're running, hold on tight."

She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I ran as fast as I could. I eventually saw the carriage Ciel, Sebastian, Finny, and Bard were on.

Ciel

I heard something whiz past the carriage at full speed, and I looked out the window.

"Sebastian did you see what that was."

Sebastian faked a smile.

"I did not, but I have an idea."

Alina

Whew call that running in heels

We arrived at the party before the carriage did, so we hid in the bushes until they walked inside.

"Okay I grabbed some of these smoke bombs, and this mask for you to wear so no one will recognize you."

She handed me a white masquerade mask with golden lace and vines, and I strapped it on being sure I didn't mess up my makeup.

"Why do I have wear this?"

She beamed.

"You want to be mysterious don't you? Like Cinderella!"

Cinderella was originally a book in the late 1800s

I nodded.

We crept up to the entrance, and Mey Rin nodded.

"You ready?"

I nodded curtly and she slunk into the room, and set down the smoke bombs, and ran towards the side of the room. I smiled hearing Finny ask.

"Where is Alina?"

"She couldn't come...she was sick."

I smirked, heard the smoke bombs go off, and sounds of confusion.

My cue

I sashayed through the smoke as elegantly as I could, my chin held high. When I exited the smoke, I could feel eyes on me. The music screeches to a stop

"Sorry for being late."

I addressed.

"A goddess has to make her entrance doesn't she?"

I could feel the nosebleeds, so I walked into the center of the room and smiled.

"Why did the music stop?"

I smiling I grabbed a bird and spun him around, his purple hair whipping around. He started to blush and I laughed. Everyone grabbed a partner, and started to dance. The Indian man I was dancing with asked.

"What is your name?"

I smiled.

"I cannot say, but you can look for me in the Phantomhive manor if you wish."

I flashed a smile and swept away, and sat next to a little lamb.

"Could I have this dance?"

The lamb looked at me with his blue eyes.

"Me?"

I nodded and I held out my hand, and he took it.

"Finny have you ever danced before?"

"Alina?"

I nodded and lifted off my mask and put it back on.

"Yep it's me."

She blushed.

"You look so beautiful."

I smiled.

"You look adorable Finny."

He beamed, and we started to dance.I danced with Mey Rin and Bard Afterward, I sawcowboy Ciel being pestered by Lizzie wearing a cute mouse costume. I walked over to them and Lizzie stared at me in awe.

"You look lovely! What's your name?"

I smiled.

"What would be the fun in that Lizzie?"

She smiled and scampered away.

"Thanks for getting her to leave."

I smiled.

"Anytime Ciel."

He looked at me.

"Alina?"

I nodded.

"The one in only."

He nodded.

"Why are you wearing a mask?"

"Mey Rin told me it would be cool if I was unknown."

He nodded.

"Ciel? I know you don't like to dance, but could I have this dance?"

I held out my hand and he looked away blushing pink. He took my hand and we walked into the dance floor. We took it slow and steady because Ciel wasn't the best at dancing, but we still had fun. I managed to get him to laugh a couple times.

"Ciel you should laugh more."

Me looked down.

"Maybe I should shouldn't I?"

I smiled, and looked around.

"Have you seen Sebastian?"

He shook his head, and I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Claude with orange fox ears and a tail.

"May I have this dance?"

I nodded, he places his hand on my waist and the other on my shoulder.

"You look nice Alina."

I smirked

"You knew it was me?"

He smiled in disbelief.

"I've known you for years, I knew it was you."

I look at him confused.

"Why are you here?"

He shakes his head.

"I thought you knew, I am the Trancy butler."

"I like your tail."

He raised his eyebrows and I blushed. He spun me around and lowered me to the ground, his face inches from mine. I felt something snatch me from Claude's grasp, and hold me close to it's chest. I blush madly, and look up. A pair of wine red eyes looked down at mine, his black cat ears stuck up from his head.

"Glad I saved you from him aren't

I take a breath as he places his hand on my waist, and we start to dance.

"You look lovely."

I smile shyly, and I see his cat tail flick around behind him.

"The fox and the cat hmm?"

Sebastian smiles, and I'm pulled from Sebastian and dancing with Claude again. This repeats, until I push myself away and excuse myself. I ran into the bathroom, and took a breather.

Why can't I get a break

When I walked out I was bombarded by a blonde booty-shorts-wearing pirate.

"Hi! Dance with me now."

He grabbed my wrist and hauled me over to the dancefloor He places his hand on my waist.

"I need to talk to you, Claude told me about you."

"You're Alois aren't you?"

He nodded.

"You should know the truth about them."

I look at him confused.

"What? Who?"

He smiles devilishly.

"The Phantomhives, and that butler of theirs. They aren't what they seem you know"
