Ch. 3: Meeting
Nori watched the snow fall as she moved further into the barren city. She made sure her body was covered to avoid being cooked by the sun. She was on an important mission.
'I hoped this day would never come.' She thought as she made her several hour journey.
She stopped as she passed an alley... the place this all started.
Nori and Khan had gotten cornered by a murder drone. She slowly walked towards them, looking them over. She reached behind her back and the two worker drones closed their eyes in preparation of whatever weapon she was going to use to kill them.
"Here." She said.
The two opened their eyes and saw a baby drone in her hands. They looked at her face and it was clear that she was upset. Nori slowly reached out and took the baby, looking at it's yellow eyes, before looking back at the murder drone.
"... I'm sorry, baby girl, but this is for your own protection." She said, before looking at the workers, "Take care of her. Treat her as your own. If you do, I promise my squad will never try and attack your bunker... please... keep her safe."
"S-s-safe from what?" Nori asked.
"... You already know, Nori."
And that was the last thing that she said before she flew away.
Present
Nori shook that memory away and kept walking.
'I never thought it would ever see a murder drone actually afraid of something.' Nori thought, pulling her hood down to keep the sun's glare out of her screen.
But Nori knew just how dangerous that... thing... is... she knew better than anyone.
'I'm lucky I got the patch, otherwise she could've destroyed the world.' Nori thought.
She continued on her journey, which took until the sun went down. Once it did, Nori had reached her destination. The towering spiral nest of the murder drones, made from the corpses of death workers and miscellaneous other objects around the city.
'Okay, now I have to-'
A murder drone landed behind her and lunged at her with swords brandished. Nori ducked and used the solver to send a dead drone flying at the drone. the murder drone cut through the dead body, but it turns out that was just a distraction as Nori sent an old car axle that stabbed her right in the torso, making sure not to stab the core.
"Are you going to calm down, V, or do you not want to hear about how your daughter is doing?" Nori asked.
"My daughter?" V asked, switching off murder mode and looking concerned. "Is something wrong? Is she hurt?"
"She had a dream... of being a murder drone... I think it's her motherboard trying to tell her." Nori said.
"She is? But you said you could block it!" V said as Nori used her power to remove the car axel.
"I thought I did but it's still breaking through. I worry it won't be long before the "cravings" kick in." Nori said.
V started to panic. If putting Uzi into a worker drone body didn't stop this, then... IT... might find her.
"No... no no no!" V said, "This can't be happening!"
V fell down and held her head. Her baby was in trouble and she couldn't do anything. Nori walked over and held V by the shoulders.
"Hey, everything will be okay." Nori said, "I'm not done yet, I have another plan, but I need your help in order to do it."
V looked at her.
"What is it?"
"... I need to get the patch." Nori said, "It might be able to help her."
V stood up.
"Where is it?"
"In the cabin fever labs." Nori said, "It'll be hard to get there, and might take several days to get ready."
"That doesn't matter, if it help my little Serial Designation U then I'll do whatever need to happen." V said, "I need her to be safe."
"Then I suggest you get ready... I'll be back next week and we'll head out."
Nori left and V went to go hunt... and that's when Uzi popped out of her hiding spot.
'... I'm... a murder drone?'
