While Uzi was speaking with her dad and aunt, Doll sent a message.

Doll: МОЯ МАМА РАНЕНА И В БОЛЬНИЦЕ! ПОЖАЛУЙСТА, ВОЗВРАЩАЙТЕСЬ КАК МОЖНО СКОРЕЕ! (MY MOM IS HURT AND IN THE HOSPITAL! PLEASE GET BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!)

Uzi gasped at the message before turning and rushing out the spire!

"Wait! Biscuit, where are you going?!" N shouted in confusion.

"Bunker hospital! Aunt Yeva is hurt!" Uzi screamed, not turning back.

She ran all the way to the bunker, sweating and breathing heavily... who programmed that!?

'Stupid humans!' Uzi thought as she ran faster, ignoring how sweaty her body was getting.

She arrived at the bunker and opened the door. Running right into her dad's coworkers.

"Uzi? Aren't you-"

"No time! Aunt Yeva in hospital!" Uzi shouted as she ran past them.

It didn't take long for Uzi to find Doll pacing back and forth, waiting for her.

"Doll!" Uzi shouted, skidding to a stop before her. "What happened?! Is auntie okay?!"

Doll immediately hugged Uzi as tight as she could.

"Я не знаю! Я нашел ее на полу в луже масла! (I don't know! I found her on the floor in a puddle of oil!)" Doll said, digital tears on her visor.

Uzi hugged back and moved her hand in a circle to calm Doll down.

"Were there any signs of a break in? Like maybe someone attacked her?" Uzi asked.

Doll just shook her head.

"Мама была одна дома. Мы с папой пошли на рынок и всегда запираем за собой дверь. (Mom was the only one at home. Dad and I went to the market and we always make sure to lock the door behind us.)" Doll said.

"Okay, okay, just... try and calm down. She can self heal, so I'm sure it'll be alright." Uzi said, "Let's try and be positive."

"Но...но... ее горло. (But....but....her throat.)" Doll said, putting a hand near her own throat.

"It'll take more than that to take out Aunt Yeva, she's stubborn, it's where you got it from." Uzi said.

Doll chuckled a bit with a smile, knowing that Uzi was right. Her mother was the strongest drone she knew, there was no way something like this would do her in.

"Can I see her?" Uzi asked, looking at Yeva's hospital room.

Doll led Uzi to Yeva's room. Inside, Nicholas, Khan, and Nori were around Yeva's hospital bed as her core monitor was beeping steadily. Uzi, after seeing this, was actually nervous for her aunt. But she still approached slowly as Doll closed the door behind them.

'This is such a strange sight.' Uzi thought, 'Whatever did this must be strong.'

"What's her status?" Uzi asked, looking of her uncle.

"Она собирается полностью восстановиться, но ей засунули трубку в голосовой аппарат. Неизвестно, сможет ли она когда-нибудь снова говорить. (She's going to make a full recovery, but she had a pipe shoved through her voicebox. It's unknown on if she'll ever be able to talk again.)"

"She can still used her visor and sign language is possible, so there's that." Khan said, trying it look on the bright side for Nori.

Yeva's visor began to flicker.

"Everyone! She's waking up!" Nori said as Doll moved quickly to her mother's side.

Everyone waited with baited "breath" as Yeva's visor turned on and showed both of her red eyes. She looked around and tried to speak, before the static mess that came out reminded her of what happened. Despite this, Doll hugged her tightly as Yeva was surprised but slowly hugged her back. Nori walked up to her.

"Never scare me like that... again." Nori said.

Yeva guilty grinned at her sister before making words with her visor.

'Обещаю, что попробую. Клянусь богом-робо. (I promise I'll try. Swear to robo-god.' Yeva texted, showing she can indeed still "talk" to them.

"You better."

Doll pulled away as Yeva "wiped" away her tears, smiling at her daughter before looking at Nicholas.

"Как долго меня не было?(How long have I been out?) " she asked her husband.

"Около 6 часов. (About 6 hours)."

"The doctor said any longer and you would've gone into stasis." Nori said as Khan comforted her. "You're as lucky as always, Yeva."

"Thank god for that." Uzi muttered.

Doll stayed close, not wanting to leave for any reason.

"Can you tell us what you remember before passing out? It seemed like you were attacked or something." Khan said.

Or something was right. Yeva didn't know how to tell them what happened, and she would be lucky to have time to tell them as a nurse bot came into the room the check on her.

"I see you're awake, Mrs. Alexeyev." The nurse said.

"И я рад этому. (And I'm glad for that.)" Yeva texted on her visor.

"How long will it be before auntie makes a full recovery?" Uzi asked.

"Hard to really say."

The nurse came over and checked in Yeva up close, looking in her throat to see the internal damage if she could find it.

"Voice box is most likely never going to be fixed, it might be easier to get it replaced, but that's a hard thing to find." The nurse said.

"How much would the surgery cost?" Nori asked.

"And money is no problem, I'll cover it." Khan added.

"It's not so much about the cost, it's... voice boxes are nearly impossible to find in the bunker, and finding a working one outside of it is even more slim."

"I know where we could-"

"Do NOT suggest the spire, little girl. That is a death sentence for any worker." The nurse said to Uzi.

'Not for me.' Uzi thought as she glared at the nurse.

"I think we should head home, let Doll and Nicholas get some time with her." Khan said.

"Yeah, we should." Nori said, already knowing Uzi's idea because she had the same idea.

Going to the murder drone spire and getting a voice box from one of the corpses.

"Не надо, я не хочу еще одного. (Don't, I don't want another one)" Yeva's visor said, already knowing their plan.

"Что?/What?" Everyone said to her.

"Mrs. Alexeyev, are you sure? Though the chance of finding one is slim, it's still a chance." The nurse said.

"Пока я жив и у меня есть семья, мне все равно, если у меня нет голоса. (So long as I'm living and I have my family, I don't care if I don't have my voice.)" Yeva's visor said in small print but the nurse was able to read it.

She wanted to tell them why she didn't want one, but the nurse being there made it difficult.

"Hmm, very well, ma'am. It's choice and I can't change that." the nurse bot said with a nod. "I'll go find the doctor so he can give you your final check up and estimated checkout date."

The nurse left and Nori went up to Yeva.

"Why don't you want a voice box?"

"Син попыталась овладеть мной. Удар ножом в мой голосовой аппарат не позволил ей использовать мой голос, чтобы подвести Долл достаточно близко, чтобы причинить ей боль. (Cyn tried possessing me. Stabbing my voice box prevented her from using my voice to get Doll close enough to hurt her.)" Yeva said.

"CYN WHAT?!" Nori shouted aloud, making everyone in the room jolt.

'Ugh! Way to blurt it out, worker mom!' Uzi thought.

Nori began to pace in the room, thinking of all the ways she'd like to beat the ever loving fuck out of that eldritch bitch.

Узи? (Uzi?)" Doll asked.

"Yeah?" Uzi replied.

"Вам говорили, как ее остановить? (Did they tell you how to stop her?)" Doll asked.

Uzi flinched as she remembered all of it the answers she got from her dad and her aunt.

"Not really." Uzi said.

Doll sighed in defeat as she held up her hand, creating the solver symbol. The very thing that started this whole mess.

"It's an enigma." Uzi said, "A puzzle that can't be solved, not easily at least, but we'll figure out something."

"Я надеюсь на это. (I hope so.)" Doll said as she made the symbol spin above her hand.
