It Was The Driver.
Escalante
The day felt odd
The moment I opened my eyes to Preston cuddling up to me, I had a bad feeling. Call it instinct I don't normally listen to but today, it was worse than before. I couldn't ignore it because the anticipation was already building up in my muscles.
Shifting to untangle myself from Preston, I heard him moan and pull me closer to him making me wonder where his newfound energy came from. I grunted when he pressed my head against his chest. I never noticed but Preston smelt funny-quite musky if I should put a word to it. Oh wait, we had sex yesterday.
Now that I mentioned it, last night was weird. I hadn't expected Preston to be the dominating kind in bed. It turned me on more so I never bothered to argue. He even introduced bondage play because he tied my hands to the freaking bed post. Then he came down on me and I was like goddamn. I guess I see why people like that BDSM lifestyle.
But that wasn't all that was weird, it was his body. He had scars all over his body from his waist to his thighs. The scars around his waist looked deeper which made me believe it was from sex. Seeing all that, made me want to stop and ask what happened but with the way he rode me, I could guess he didn't want to stop anytime soon so instead, I gave him the pleasure he needed.
"You are awake." Preston hummed into my ears making my heart skip a beat out of shock.
"You are awake?" I asked, using that time to pull away from him.
"Yeah." He huffed then sat up on the bed. "Darn, I missed breakfast."
"I'm sure Alex got something for us. He normally gets something for me." I slid out of the bed to look for my boxers on the floor.
"You think Alex likes me that much?" He said dully and I looked at him just to see him roll his eyes at me.
Picking up my boxers, I said as I wore it, "I never finish my sandwich anyways."
Preston didn't reply me until I had found my towel and was ready for a good bath. He came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me, resting his head on my shoulder. I smiled at how cute he was behaving then moaned lowly when he said, "I cannot wait to be out of this camp with you."
"Ditto that babe."
"Last night was amazing." He nibbled my earlobe and I chuckled.
"Yeah it was." I turned to him and he left a short kiss on my lips.
He pulled away and I saw he had already dressed and hidden his scar from my prying eyes. Frowning, I asked, "Where are you going?"
Preston didn't glance at me, but instead, picked up his phone and ran a hand through his already ruffled hair. "We'll be gone before lunch so I want to meet Ariesa to have a last minute talk."
"Oh." I said, "Are we going with anyone else?"
"Nope. Just the driver." He looked back at me when he was sure he had collected everything he needed. "We'll be out for a while so if there's anyone you wanna meet, you should do that now."
"Okay. I will."
Preston grinned then came back up to me to peck me before leaving and before I could ask him anything about the scars.
Again, I felt uneased but I ignored it and carried on with my day. Took a bath, watched a movie with Val, had a cabin meeting where Alex and Calvin forfeited. I already forfeited during the last meeting so I didn't have to say it again.
Because of yesterday's issue, I ignored Calvin and Alex but it wasn't like they were going to talk to me anyways since they left right after the meeting.
I practically stayed in the fun house, playing games I knew I couldn't win because I was awful at them, until Preston called and asked me to meet at Ariesa's office.
"Alright babe." I chuckled into the phone when he finally stopped complaining about Jasper teasing him.
"Be quick. Love you." He said it so flawlessly I almost melted to the words.
"Love you too." I said it back even though it sounded off. The only person I've ever said I love you to was Carlo. When I say it to him, it feels right and genuine. Like it wasn't weird and it sounded amazing when he said it back.
Sighing, it made me realize the horrible best friend I've been since I came here. I shouldn't have shouted at him or gotten mad at him. I should have told him I didn't have feelings for him nicely. Now somewhere in my heart hurts all because of him.
The sun was wasn't out today and it felt pretty normal. No wind, no cold breeze. Just normal. It calmed me down a bit and I made my way down to Ariesa's office which was all the way at the other side of the camp. On my way, I happened to see my sister having a chat with Jasper and it wasn't going well. I was tempted to walk over there and tell him to get the fuck out but I had someone waiting for me so I didn't bother.
Instead, I sent her a text telling her to kick his butt if he had hurt her. She replied me with a 'go fuck yourself' and a ton of angry face emoji. Girls.
Arriving at the office, I saw Preston checking his phone but looked up when I stood in front of him. His eyes widened and he grinned, "You came quickly."
"Of course I did. I'm actually very excited." I bit my lip as I scratched my head to get an itch out.
"I'm excited too. Come on, you'll love where I'm going to take you." His hand found mine and he cocked his head to the door.
"Lead the way, guapo."
"And guapo is supposed to mean...?"
"Handsome."
His brows furrowed in confusion, "I thought you deemed me cute?"
"I don't know? You look handsome now." It's true. The moment I looked at Preston today, he looked different, more masculine. I guess it was because he lost his regular hair cut for a quiff which made me wonder when he did it. "Nice hair."
"Yeah. I thought I change it up for the date." He shrugged as we left the building.
There was an official wearing the red Camp Rock bottom shirt and he waved at Preston then motioned to the bush I had entered from when I first came. Preston nodded and hollered to him, "We are right behind you."
The man nodded then started walking towards it with Preston and I following closely behind.
We hadn't gone halfway across the field when a girl I had seen before called Preston's name. He stopped, forcing me to stop and he smiled at the girl -if I remembered clearly, Carlo had a crush on her.
She skipped over to us with her cherry attitude. "Preston, hey. Are you leaving camp?"
"Yeah. I'm going on a date with Escalante." He let go of my hand to wrap his arm around my waist in a protective way that made me frown.
Birdie noticed it but decided not to speak up about it. She smiled at the both of us and said, "That's awesome. I'm gonna try and see if Carlo will ask me out. I've got my complete hours too."
The mention of Carlo's name had the hairs on my back standing. I grew instantly uncomfortable but I tried not to show my displeasure as Preston talked to his sister. I smiled at her when they ended their conversation and Preston pulled me away without me saying bye.
I didn't mind because I suddenly didn't like her.
We were in the SUV and the driver asked, turning on the ignition, "How long are you going to take?"
"A long while. If we need you, I'll call."
"You better or the manager will have my head." He scoffed then pulled out of the shack where the cars were packed and started down the rough road.
Preston and I and were at the back seat and out of habit, I started playing with my nails. It was what I did when I was nervous or in a car without a game to play.
Trying to distract myself, I leaned closer to Preston and said, "Where are we going?"
"This restaurant I had been to before."
"Was it from camp or something else?" I asked out of plain curiosity.
He scratched his brow and glanced up at me from his phone. Gosh, if there was anything he loved more than me, it was his phone. That always had me wondering who he was texting. "It was camp. It was fun since I took someone with me."
"Well you are fun so I doubt it would be boring."
He cupped my face and kissed my nose, something he hadn't done before and I quickly added it to his list of new traits. Too bad the constant staring at his phone won't go because he was back to it the minute he let go of me.
My phone buzzed in my back pocket and I got it out to see I had gotten a text from my sister. I opened it to see a familiar a message. She had written 'TTFA' with no caps lock so I just thought she butt texted me. Another one went after a while but this time it was from Camila.
This made me frown but it didn't stay long because we had arrived at the restaurant. It wasn't anything big, just a place to get a burger and that confused me. He had mentioned the restaurant like an actual restaurant with actual food. I never expected burger king or Tim Horton to be the restaurant.
We got out and the driver said when he slid the window down, "Call me, Preston. I'm going into town to check something out."
Preston nodded and started to dicuss something with him but I didn't listen because I got another text and this time, it was from Carlo. Sighing, I opened it and saw the same message Jacinta and Camila had sent but this time it was in caps lock and I understood, but that wasn't a good thing.
TTFA actually meant Turn The Fuck Around. It might not mean anything to you but to Carlo and I, TTFA meant danger. It meant the person with or behind me wasn't just bad news. He or she was bad, bad news. So the fact that Carlo would put aside our differences to tell me this, meant I was with a really bad person.
The sound of the car taking off knocked me out of my thoughts and I froze in fear. If Preston was a bad person, my only escape route just left.
Preston came back up to me and wrapped his arms around me and said, "Sorry if you expected something different." He said coolly and smirked. The Preston I knew would have been way more nervous than me, but this guy looked calm.
"You know," I said, finally doubting him. I pulled away from him until we were a couple feet apart and said, "I don't feel like doing this again. Could you just call him let's go." I swallowed, hoping he bought my really nervous façade. But then, I was scared so it had to work.
"Relax." He smiled walking back to me, "We aren't that far. Plus it would be annoying to call the driver back now. You haven't even bought yourself a burger."
Now, I was panicking. His hands were on my shoulder and were massaging me softly, "Relax." He repeated but it wasn't helping me in anyway. It only became worse when I noticed the small market was almost deserted.
I pulled away from him and I was sure he could see the panic written on my face.
"It's just a burger." He tried but I wasn't having it.
"I want to go back to the camp now, Preston."
His bright blue eyes widened and the scariest smirk I have ever seen grew on his face. I paled instantly when his eyes darkened and he bawled his hands into a fist.
How did I get myself into this?
Looking around drastically, I tried to look for a way to get out of here but there was none. There weren't any cars around and the man who took us here saved his number only on Preston's phone.
My eyes widened at the situation before me but before I could say any word to Preston, I felt something hit the back of my head. I instantly felt dizzy and hit the floor but I didn't lose consciousness until I saw my attacker.
It was the driver.
