I'm Carlo.
Carlo
After Patrick said she had broken up with her girlfriend, Maggie because she saw her cheating, she also said she liked my sister. On a very normal cold day, I wouldn't give a fuck but right now, I was furious.
I didn't like the sight of them together at all and when Camila didn't try to take Patrick's hand off her, it only confirmed what she was saying was indeed the truth. And I hated it.
It wasn't the fact that she was Trans...or maybe it was, but this, if they went out, meant she was into girls. Even though I wouldn't put Patrick under the female gender
Oh for heaven's sake! This confuses the fuck out of me!
Not wanting to get in the way of my sister's happiness, I took Es' hand and led us to the cafeteria. Es didn't say a word to me until we were in front of it. "I can see you are mad at your sister."
"I'm not," I wasn't mad. I was just confused by why she would confuse herself with someone like Patrick.
"Are you sure? Because the moment she said she liked your sister, you stormed out."
"I didn't storm out." I shook my head then started entering the building.
"Well, it looked like you were and are mad." He kept saying and I frowned and spoke my mind.
"It's not that I am mad at her. I'm just confused. Patrick is a girl so does that mean that she is a lesbian or she's just focused on his appearance because she looks like a guy."
"She looks like a guy right? So guy-ish I could almost date her." Then he gasped with excitement, "Carlo, I think I've found a reason to be bisexual."
I knew Escalante would never understand. Why I told him things sometimes beats me. Shrugging my shoulders, I let him continue talking about how he could be bisexual as we went to get something to eat.
On my way back to our table, someone passed by me and her perfume had me stopping and my eyes following her. I could only see her back side but when she turned to sit down in her table, I couldn't help but blush. She was so cute with her blond bob hair and dark blue eyes that I could see from where I was standing.
I definitely would have stood there and just stared at her if Es hadn't bumped into me. He moved back immediately to balance his food then groaned at me, "Dude, why did you stop?"
"Check out the blond girl. The really cute one on table four from the left."
Es followed my gaze and I was sure he saw her because he whistled, "Now that is a step up from Petunia."
"Yeah." I murmured then joined our friends on our table. Except Preston and Alex, everyone was here.
None of them bothered to look up from their food except Dave who smiled at us and said, "Hey, where have you guy been?"
"Met with the sister." I told them.
That caught the other two's attention and Jacob said, "You have a sister?"
"We both have one."
"That's awesome. Younger or older?" Val asked before throwing a shrimp into his mouth.
"Older."
He hummed, "Well, I want a younger sister. Having a ton of brothers might sound cool until you live with them." He grunted then took a sip from his juice.
"Say, where is Preston?" Es asked, "He normally doesn't miss food."
"He comes earlier since his schedule changed." Val said.
"Yeah. Instead of swimming in the morning. He plays football then swim in the evening. What he does after is hardly my business. That's Val's." Dave said.
"Why is he your business?" Es asked.
"Because as the Cabin Captain, I'm to watch over my cabin members. Knowing their schedule makes me more comfortable as the head so if someone is reported missing, I could give a full report."
"Wow, you take this business seriously."
"Right? I doubt MK gives a shit. He'll only scare you to pieces if you come in later than 10pm which is curfew." Jacob said.
Val heaved his shoulder, "Everyone has their own way of ruling."
We fell quiet to continue eating and when we were done and had returned our plates and trays, Val asked when everyone was back on the table, "So anyone getting involved in any sport?"
"I'm doing the cooking competition." Dave moved excitedly on his seat.
"Fencing." Jacob said then looked at Dave, "I don't think they are doing that this year."
"Aw man! That's fucked up. I guess I could just volunteer." He sighed, sulking back in his seat.
"You should. I would love to see you cooking my food since you won last year's tournament." Jacob smiled at him, brushing Dave's hair out of his face.
Dave's ears grew red and practically everyone could see it. He laughed, covering up the awkward silence then said, "T-Thank you. I s-should go ask them." Then he stood from the table and walked quickly to a door where they wrote Staffs Only.
"He's so cute when he's flustered." Jacob watched him with slight interest and it reminded me of the party when he had given me that same look.
"I hope you aren't just teasing him." Val turned to Jacob and he looked to him, smirking.
"Since when did personal matters become your problem?"
"Since when he became my roommate and Cabin mate."
Ignoring their argument, my eyes strayed back to the blond girl I had found an interest in. She was talking to the people on her table and I guess she was trying to be funny because everyone laughed at what she said. She was even cuter when she laughed. I might have just found my MK to Alex.
"So Carlo, I've got to tell you, I got a thing for Preston." He knew I wasn't paying him much attention especially when I saw the girl I was stalking stand up but he continued anyways, "Every time around 6pm, I hang in the pool with him. Just so you know."
I mumbled a silent yeah then swallowed before following her outside, leaving Es to his own business.
The moment I stepped outside, I noticed the sun had died down and the wind had pick up, making me curse when I started feeling cold. Sighing under my breath, I followed her but stopped a couple feet from her when she met with a friend. They talked for a while and I slowly got used to the breezy temperature. In a matter of minutes, the girl was all alone on a bench and I found my legs walking towards her on their own.
Quietly, I slid into the table and said when she looked up from her phone, "Hey."
She rose a slightly amused brow at me and replied, "Hi."
I hadn't said anything and I was already running out of words to say. Trying to look confident, I tried to bring up a conversation. "So you like big bang theory."
Her expression twisted into the one of suspicion. "You were listening in on my conversation?"
"Not really. I just happened to pick on a few words over the crowd. 'Sheldon and Lenard.'"
"And just that made you follow me all the way here?" When she smiled at me I just stared at her cheeks because all I wanted to do was bite them...gosh, I was such a horrible pervert.
"Oh I don't know. You were telling the story well. I can't do that and still make my friends laugh. I always have to add, 'if you had watched it, you would have laughed' Like seriously, retelling Sheldon and Amy's part sometimes left them confused. Then you have to explain the joke to them." I sighed. "Let's just say, it just comes out really bad at the end."
She giggled. "So you were listening on me." She said it more like a statement that a question so I didn't bother replying to it. "I should report you for stalking."
"Wait, there's a punishment for that?" I wasn't even trying to flirt anymore. I didn't want to get a strike just because I was planning on how to approach her.
"I'm kidding you. If there really was, I wouldn't have much friends here."
"So there are stalkers here?"
"Yeah. They don't even try to say hi. They just rather look from afar." She shook her head in disbelief and I sighed at how pretty she looked just doing it.
"That must suck."
"Yeah."
She smiled at me and was about to say something when her friend called to her, "We are going to the fun house. Wanna join?"
"Sure. Wait a minute." She told the girl then looked back at me, "Wanna follow me to the fun house?"
My heart fluttered at her politeness. To invite me on a thing for just her and her friends? I was flattered.
"Is that like a date?" I knew I was pushing it when she laughed and shook her head. I shrugged, knowing I tried and said, "Sure. Why not."
She nodded and stood up then said, "Cool. By the way, my name is Birdie."
I immediately recalled our first day here and remembered she had volunteered to take the girls around. I actually assumed she was Preston's girlfriend that day but all that changed when he held Escalante's hand. Smiling, I stood after her and said, "I'm Carlo."
