"Are you sure, Carlo?"

It was a normal day out today with no sun or wind. I had my lunch in my hands and two annoying sister right behind me. I wasn't talking to my own sister for awkward reasons but Escalante's sister wouldn't stop bugging me about having feelings for my best friend.

"I'm telling you. I do not." I spelt it out for her when she wouldn't take a simple no. We were outside and just looking for a nice table to join. "I happen to be interested in girls for your information."

     Jacinta turned to my sister and said, "Can you believe he doesn't think he has feelings for my brother?"

"They are already so deeply in love he doesn't even realize it." Camila joked and I shot her a glare which she brushed off easily.

"No. I do not like Escalante and there are many reasons why." I found a table and joined it when the people in it didn't bother to look up from their phones.

"Oh, name them. I can bring up my own reasons and Camila can even back me up." She teased and I just wondered if she was doing this to me because she had nothing to do. They normally teased me like this but Escalante was always there to save me by pulling me away.

"I can never like him because first of all, he's a pervert. Second, he's a bigger pervert and third, he'll cheat on me." Just the thought of that last reason hurt and I was sure my face failed to hide my emotion because Jacinta caught on.

"So that's why you are scared." She giggled and I sighed.

Looking up from my food, I happen to see Es and Preston walking by and they weren't even being secretive about their relationship. They were holding hands and staring lovely at each other. For some dumb reason, it made me want to puke.

"Aww. Poor Carlo. Having to see his boyfriend at heart walking hand in hand with another boy." Jacinta said, mocking me. "Must hurt, doesn't it?" She looked back at me and laughed.

     Camila hummed after a bite from her burger and said after she swallowed, "I'm silently rooting for you bro."

"Would the both of you stop?!" I said in frustration.

     I didn't want to get into the Escalante topic because it actually hurts to see him with someone. And it wasn't just this one, I meant everyone he had ever been with. I never liked him going out because he always ignored me like I never existed. Then when he makes trouble and they break up with him, he'll come running to me. I didn't like it at all. "Can we talk about something else?"

"Ohh! Someone is jealous." Jacinta waggled her brow at me and I frowned because I hated when she did that. She mostly did it after she thought of something dirty.

"I am not. Now please-"

"Want to get him to notice you?"

     I was just about to scream no when Escalante called to me from where he was standing, still holding Preston's hand. -Seriously, how was that guy straight? "Carlo, I might not make it to dinner so you are on your own with Birdie."

Just hearing that, I wanted to fly over the table and punch him for just saying it. How could he? How could he pick that fucking Preston over me? I'm his best friend. I would never leave him. Instead of going full on kung Fu on his ass, I shrugged and said, "Whatever. Do what you want."

"Thanks man." He called when I looked back at my food. "I owe you one."

"Yeah." I mumbled to myself and sulked back in my seat.

     This was the guy I thought would be there for me throughout this camp. I guess I had to learn how to be dependent on myself and not him.

"Oh look Camila, he's sulking."

They were right for one thing at least. I was feeling bad for being like that. The one week I've been in this camp, Es didn't talk to me for the half of it. After Petunia, he made me get all the girls by myself. By the way, all the girls I have slept with are up to the number five and I was done. I didn't feel like whoring myself anymore.

I wanted to get someone I liked and just settle down. Besides, it looked like more fun with the way Alex was always cuddling MK on the couch or Jacob was always teasing Dave even though it's obvious he liked him. I wanted someone like that and since I liked Birdie, I wanted to be with Birdie. I wanted Es to help me out with Birdie. But it looked like he too was busy for that.

"We could help you with Birdie if you like." Jacinta suggested as she watched me.

     I rose a suspicious brow at her, "I thought you wanted me with Es?"

     Her eyes widened with excitement, "We could do that too."

"No. Just no. Help me with Birdie. Oh see her over there." I watched as my sister glanced over at the direction I was cocking my head.

     They stared at her for a while then whispered something between themselves making me more suspicious of them.

     Jacinta looked back at me and said, "Call her over."

"With you guys here?"

"It would be awkward without." Camila added.

Hesitantly, I glanced over at Birdie to see her walking my way but not directly to my table. I waved over to her and when her eyes landed on me, she grinned and I could see the relief written all over her face.

She walked up to my table and joined us saying, "Hey Carlo. Thanks for calling me over. I was just about to turn and head back to the cafeteria." She glanced at the Jacinta and Camila and smiled at them, "Hey, I'm Birdie."

"Hello. You are the girl who showed us around, right?" Jacinta asked.

     Birdie's lips opened slightly as she nodded and her eyes widened, "Yes. Um, Jacinta and Camille, right?"

     My sister frowned, shaking her head, "It's Camila."

"But I was close. I never remember names on first days normally."

"But you remember Jacinta." She rolled her eyes and looked away, sipping on her juice box.

"Sorry." Birdie flinched back and I glared at my sister. She was supposed to help me make her my girlfriend not make her my enemy.

"Ignore her." I managed and Jacinta was nice enough to help me out.

"She's on her period and her girlfriend is being a bitch about it. Cranky week." She said earning a glare from Camila who didn't say anything after.

Birdie nodded and grinned, "Oh sorry. I know what it's like." Birdie was a really cherry person and I liked that about her. Her brows creased after a while and said, "Wait, your brother is Es right?"

"Yeah. His best friend." She pointed at me then went back to eating.

"My brother is dating him."

I think that statement got to everyone except her.

I never saw the resemblance and I still do not see it. Beating my chest lightly when I choked on air, Birdie was nice enough to rub my back until I was breathing well.

Jacinta and Camila recovered and asked the question that was dancing around in my head, "Your brother?!"

"Yes. Don't you see the resemblance?" She asked, still rubbing my back causing my stomach to have butterflies.

"I see it." Jacinta nodded, glancing between me and her and then she started waggling her brows making the butterflies in my stomach flutter away.

"How come you never noticed?" Birdie asked me but I remained speechless because at that moment, I couldn't even think of anything to say.

"He's not the type to see resemblance." Jacinta smiled. "You see, Camila and I have to do something real quick so how about the both of you get to know yourself." The both of them stood up at the same time and Jacinta added, "See you later Birdie."

"Sure." She waved them off then turned to me, "They are awesome."

"They are my sister and best friend' sister." I laughed shakily because damn, that news got to me.

We fell quiet after a little talk and finished our food. I did the gentleman thing of throwing her trash and mine into the garbage and dropping the trays on in.

     Sliding back to the seat, the perked up in her seat and said, "So, are you doing any sport? I heard Es is swimming."

     I mentally rolled my eyes at that, "I'm not really a sport person."

"Oh. Then do you want to watch me? I fence."

"Oh my god. That is awesome. Fencing is such a beautiful sport."

     Birdie grinned so widely, "Finally! Someone who thinks so too."

"I would love to watch you."

"How about tomorrow? 6pm?"

"Awesome." I smiled and it lead to a spontaneous talk of big bang theory.
