"Guess what, Lloydie," my cousin said, plopping onto the sofa beside me as I tried to focus on beating his high score on Prime Empire.

I grunted, my eyes still fixated on the screen.

"Guess."

I made a noise in my throat, hoping he'd get the hint and stop bothering me.

Morro sighed. "Alright, I'll just say it, I'm dating your ex. Since last month."

I snorted. "Sure, buddy."

"No, I'm serious."

I raised an eyebrow, still not looking at him. "Do you even know who she is?"

"Yeah, she's actually coming over today."

"Okay." I would've rolled my eyes if I didn't need full concentration. Morro didn't want me breaking his record on his console, but that wouldn't stop me. Literally all my other friends were leagues better than me at this game but at least I could beat my cousin and brag to the others that I held the high score on at least one console. Unfortunately, Kai was the owner of the top five scores on mine, which really sucked.

As if on cue, the doorbell rang, and Morro jumped up and rushed to get it.

"Hey Rumi," he said, the tone of his voice immediately changing to something much softer.

Hearing my ex's nickname gave me a sour taste in my mouth, but he was probably just messing with me.

"Hi Morro," the person at the door replied sweetly, the all too familiar voice feeling like a punch in the gut. And despite myself, I turned around.

I met her eyes, feeling my face start burning and my heart speeding up in my chest almost immediately. She gave me a small, awkward smile and Morro had his arm around her, a smug grin on his face.

Though we'd broken up about three months ago because things weren't working out, I would be lying if I said I didn't miss our times together. And now... how was I not aware that they were dating until now? What happened to Bro Code?

Then again, did Morro ever care about this stuff?

A sudden explosion sound came from behind me, and I spun around only to see the words "GAME OVER" flashing on the screen.

"Oopsies," Morro laughed, "Nice try, Lloydie."

I just wanted to chuck the controller at his smirking face.

Today it's snowing really hard and feels like a Friday, god I wish it was a Friday T_T
