Chapter 66

"So, when do I get to see the Watchtower?" was the first thing Cisco asked Barry and Caitlin when they returned to Mount Flash after the Fort Rozz mission.

"When you join the Justice League. Supergirl's orders, unless it's an emergency, only Justice League members are allowed access to the Watchtower. Even members of Young Justice and the Titans aren't allowed access yet." Barry said.

"I know what the Titans are, but what's Young Justice?" Jesse asked, reminding them all that she and Eddie were newcomers to Team Flash and this life, since Jesse was at the base for training and Eddie was still quarantined here until they were sure he was fully stable.

"It's the Justice League's training program for younger teenaged heroes. Heroes that some people likely call sidekicks." Barry said.

"Like who?" Jesse asked.

"Heroes like Powergirl, Robin, Wonder Girl, and even my own protege Kid Flash." Barry said.

"When do I get to find out their real names?" Jesse asked.

"When they decide to tell you. It's not our place to tell you their secrets." Caitlin said.

"I still think it's unfair that you two are the only ones who get full access to all Justice League perks." Cisco complained.

"Hey, Barry has more special privileges than I do, since he's a founding member." Caitlin pointed out.

"Really?" Jesse asked and Barry nodded.

"The only person who has more privileges than I do is Supergirl and that's just because she's the leader of the Justice League." Barry said.

"How does that whole thing work anyways? Is there a term limit or what?" Iris asked as she and Gabby joined them.

"Off the record of course." Caitlin said, since they couldn't have Iris revealing inside information about the Justice League in her paper.

"Of course. A good reporter knows that some stories shouldn't be told. And the inner workings of the Justice League fall in that category." Iris said.

"And the same thing goes for private investigators." Gabby said.

"Anyways, Supergirl is the Justice League's leader until she decides to step down or unless she's voted out by a majority of the League. And a new member will be elected democratically." Barry said.

"So, anyways, what did you guys do while we were on our mission?" Caitlin asked.

"Well, I was helping Young Justice on their own mission, running leads on these missing kids, since you'd be surprised how many parents are hiring me to look for them." Gabby said.

"I was covering for you guys as Central City's resident superhero, since when the Justice Leaguers are away, the rest of us have to step up." Cisco said.

"Don't be bitter Cisco. It doesn't look good on you. You'll get into the Justice League eventually." Caitlin said.

"I hope so, because I want to see all the cool stuff you guys do." Cisco said.

"We all do." Iris pointed out.

"Eventually. If joining the Justice League is what you really want." Barry said.

"Fair enough, but anyways, I've been investigating Simon Stagg." Iris said.

"The CEO of Stagg Industries?" Jesse asked, since Stagg was one of Argo's competitors in Central City.

"Yeah, but he's not the benevolent businessman most people think he is." Iris said.

"From what I can tell, the only CEO who actually is that is Kara Danvers. Though Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen have their moments." Jesse said, causing everyone who knew the truth to chuckle.

"You hacked our computers didn't you?" Barry asked.

"I was curious about what else I didn't know. I'm a bit of a snoop, but it's served me well over the years. Also, Cisco needs to change his password to something less dorky. I mean seriously, Han$hot1st?" Jesse asked, causing all of them to laugh.

"Good thing Cisco doesn't have access to the Justice League system, only Mount Flash's. But anyways, what have you found on Simon Stagg?" Barry asked.

"Well, besides a lot of complaints about him stealing people's work, I've been digging into something he calls Project Metamorpho. He's sunk a fortune into it, whatever it is." Iris said.

"Cool name." Cisco said.

"I've heard of that." Jesse said.

"You have?" Iris asked her.

"Yeah, a few months ago, back when Argo Enterprises first set up shop in Central City, Stagg approached me, wanting to form a partnership between the companies, wanting Argo Enterprises to help fund something that he called Project Metamorpho. A way to create a better worker. And considering how secretive he was when I asked for more details, I got the feeling it was the kind of thing that Kara does not want our company associated with, so I rejected it on principle." Jesse said.

"Sounds like the missing person's case has to go on hold. This takes priority, since whatever Stagg is doing, it doesn't sound like it's anything good." Gabby said.

"What kind of plan are we talking about here?" Caitlin asked.

"I'll let you when I have one. But for now, why don't we go home so you can tell me if you like what I've done to our apartment." Gabby said, since she'd finished moving in while Caitlin was on her mission.
