As you can probably tell, due to the lack of interest I've been seeing in this story and I admit, it hasn't exactly been my best work for the Flash, I've decided to rewrite it, since it had only been 6 chapters in and I want to try something different, see if that will make this story a bit more popular like the other two stories in this series are and since the old version was not working, it's time to try something new.

The last thing Barry Allen remembered before the world went dark was a loud hissing sound and a blinding white lighting followed by searing pain that sent him flying backwards through his crime lab at the CCPD into a shelf full of chemicals that rained down on him.

And right after he was struck by the lightning and before the world went dark, Barry saw his entire life flash before eyes. Including the murder of his mother when he was 11 years old in an event that could only be considered impossible, since he remembered seeing a tornado of red and yellow lightning circling his mom before seeing a flash of a man in some kind of yellow suit before he mysteriously ended up on the street.

After her murder, Barry's father had initially been charged for the murder of his mom, but his name was cleared since thanks to the existence of Superman and Wonder Woman, the world was a bit more willing to accept Barry's story about the man in yellow and the cops had found some blood splattered on the wall that hadn't come from any member of the Allen family, which had cleared Henry Allen of murder and allowed him to reclaim custody of his son.

When Barry was around 14, his dad had started dating again and had eventually met a nice woman named Carla Tannhauser, who eventually became Barry's stepmother, which led to Barry getting a stepsister named Caitlin Snow, who insisted on using her father's name and while she'd initially been hesitant, since she'd already been a bad place with her mom after her dad died, but eventually she'd come around welcomed both Barry and Henry into the family and had even made peace with her mother.

Having a sister in the family had definitely helped Barry out, since Caitlin was the one who'd pushed him to ask out his childhood crush and best friend Iris West when they were 16 and he'd asked her out to the homecoming dance, which had worked out great, since they were still together to this day.

Barry also saw just clearly he'd allowed what happened the night his mother had died to control his life, since the whole reason he'd become a CSI in the first place was so that he could try and figure out what had really happened to his mother, investigating the impossible. He'd never realized how much of an obsession it had become, since one thing he and Caitlin had bonded over after their parents had gotten married was their shared love of science but while his obsession with the unknown had led to him becoming distracted and veering towards the life of a CSI, Caitlin had become a renowned biochemist who now worked at Star Labs, one of the most prominent research labs in the country if not the world while Iris, despite her interest in journalism, had decided to first follow in the West family's proud tradition of military service, since her father, her grandfather and her great grandfather were all veterans and Iris had wanted to follow in the family tradition, much to her father's chagrin, though he couldn't stop her without looking like a hypocrite, which was why Iris was currently overseas with the US Marines, though when she came home in a few months, she was going to start pursuing her passion of journalism. But a part of Barry that was still somehow cognizant after the lightning strike couldn't help but wonder if maybe she'd also gone overseas because he'd driven her away by putting too much of his attention into his investigation of the unknown and not enough into his relationship with her and he made a resolve to do better when she got home. But that was the last thought he had before everything finally went black for him, which honestly did not happen as quickly as he thought it would.
