Chapter 2. Dragneel Family

I turned around before dropping the chains back down on my seat. I could hear it clatter by the force of gravity as my eyes locked onto gems that I haven't seen in ages. The eyes were the same as they always were and his face had the same goofy smile.

"Y-You're... You're back!" I choked out. It was a big hit in my mental state of mind. Questions about why he came back and if he was well. I wanted to hit him for leaving but hug him for coming back. I wanted to yell at him for leaving me but talk to him about what had happened over the past 10 months.

I was confused and I loved it.

"I'm back..." He murmured before I engulfed him into a hug. He still had his scent of smoke and wood but there was something mixed in with it. It wasn't like the first time met him when I didn't know who or what he was. This time, it was different. "And... I have some people I want you to meet..."

I looked at him as he led me somewhere. He started to talk to me as I messaged Levy about being late. I talked to him about how we've missed him, about how I missed him. Somewhere along the line, we had both broke into tears but we both tried to dry them.

Into a coffee shop, he led me to a table. Three people sat there with admirable hair and similar facial features. Natsu helped me sit down and took a seat next to me. A girl around the age of 13 sat down opposite him. She had long blue hair up in bunches and cute smile. She was sucking on a lollipop. I could smell that it was lemon.

This time, a woman sat next to her. She had blue hair, just a tint lighter than the girl's hair. She looked around the age of my mother and had coffee before her. It looked like she was drinking for the first time as her face scrunched up at the bitter taste. She whispered something to the boy next to her and carried on to silently drink from her stylophone cup.

The boy had black hair and his scent his me. My hand stiffened as memories of the night Natsu had left came back. This was the scent I had caught. And the boy was the one on the news that took Juvia's voice. But he had given it back, but why? His eyes were attracted to his plate containing random bits of foods that Natsu might have clumsily ordered.

"Luce...this is my real family. Wendy, Grandina, and Zeref Dragneel." Natsu said. Wendy and Zeref must have been his siblings and the woman must be his mother. Zeref look at me steadily with his eyes.

"I approve."

"Approve of what?"

"Of her, duh!"

I watched as the two brothers fight and I laugh at them. They were truly related and loved each other. "I...uh...left because I finally found my family...you understand...don't you?" Natsu brought the conversation back to me.

I understood, all right.

I understood really well.

My father had come back just a month ago from his trip and I try to have every second of my spare time with him. If going with my friends was optional, I would cancel to go have fun with him. They understood as well as I hardly had any time with him. And Natsu's situation was worse. He had just found his family... Of course he can go!

I nod at him and he grinned. He started to talk about his time here. About how I first talked to him and how we made up. About how we had an anime night and how I had many friends. About Jellal and Juvia, some words about Sting. It felt like a family dinner, that Natsu had invited a special guest over for it.

And that special guest was me.

He tried to revolve almost everything about me and I tried to revolve everything about him. "Are Levy and the others here?" He asked me. I looked out the window to see that it had been late. Somewhere around 6, we had been here for 2-3 hours.

"Yeah, but I guess they left. You saw the fight, like what he did to Gajeel?" I asked him. My tone of voice going from bored to teasing. Even if he had missed the transformation, their fight earlier seemed to give it away.

"How did it happen? I just saw them and hoped you were there! Then, I heard stuff about drinking blood from Gajeel, Jellal turned HIM? Not Erza? I am utterly surprised!" Natsu ranted. That had explained his timing.

"I was surprised but I clawed at Gajeel so much that he almost died, the only way was for Jellal to make him turn," I said casually. Not many people were in here to hear what I had said and even if they heard, we were just another group of people to them.

"Clawed at him? I leave for a night or something and you're already going up to kill people!" He laughed at me.

"It's the other way round, is it not?" I bit my lip playfully at him. I heard a few words from Zeref about him liking my way of being around Natsu, that he absolutely approves of me. He pouts and poked my nose and I scowled at him.

"That's the face I'm used to seeing!" He chuckled. I kicked him from under the table. The surface vibrated by the movement and I smiled innocently at his family. It wasn't worth it since I bet Natsu already told them about me.

"Are you coming back to school?" I asked him. He looked at him mother and tried to get an answer from her.

"You can call me mom, Lucy! And, he will be. But I'm still trying to get used to being in this human environment, Zeref was so lucky to get us a house...Natsu will be coming back to school in a few weeks," She said.

Her voice was so sincere and it made Wendy perk up. The little girl might have not spoken much but it might have been the effect of that lollipop she had just finished and tossed in the bin. If Natsu was going, she and her older brother must be going to school soon as well.

"Luce, don't you have to go now?"

"Oh yeah! Bye Wendy, Zeref, mom!"
