Chapter 5. Disease For Me
Okay, I know I had said I was going to apologise during break time. But the feeling that you have to say sorry is so overwhelming that I started to question that did I have to do it.
I know that it was pathetic so, before I doubted my choices, I decided to avoid him for the rest of the day. Like most in the world, I am bad at apologising. Just thinking about doing it makes me want to just freeze and avoid doing it.
"Gray, let me in!" I said as I banged on his house door. Gajeel also lived with him, only for this year since his parents are away. That was why he had opened the door. "Why thank you!" I grinned as I walked in.
We had planned to watch anime until morning since it was the weekend. "Natsu, don't put that in there!" I heard a yell from the kitchen. I looked back at Gajeel who simply shrugged. What should I do? Try and forget what happened didn't? UGH!
"Hey, Lucy! Coke or Pepsi?" I heard Gajeel yell from the kitchen as I laid out my stuff.
"Do you have Diet Coke?" I asked as I got the sofas ready with blankets. I patiently waited an answer but nothing came. I decided to let it go as I sat on the floor with a black blanket around me.
Gray walked in with a tray containing bowls of popcorn and cans of soft drinks. I took a random bowl and noticed there was a diet coke right there before me. I took hold of it and put it down next to me. I could smell Natsu walk in and sit behind me. Gajeel had taken the singular seat nearer to the flat screen. Gray sat next to Natsu and smirked at the layout of everything.
"Am I great at setting things up or what?"
"Maybe, but I did all of these," I grinned at him. I don't have to ever say sorry to Gray since he knows I can't and he'll take it as a silent one. We'll just go back to normal so quick. He rolled his eyes as he fumbled around trying to find the remote. "What?"
"I think I left it upstairs!" He scowled as he ran out of the room. I could hear the thumping of his feet all the way until Gajeel said, "What anime do you want to watch?"
"I want to rewatch AOT before the second season comes out! I want to recap!" I said as I raised my hand. I waited for another response as Gajeel thought.
"Blue Exorcist Season 2," I heard Natsu say behind me. I rolled my eyes at him. I don't even know why I had done it honestly. "What's wrong with it?" He asked me. He seemed like he wanted me to apologise to him for that and before.
That's not happening.
"I'm back! We're watching Trickster, Levy recommended it!" Gray said as he entered the room. Before sitting down, he threw the remote in the air and caught it before it dropped on my head. Gajeel clapped at his little stunt and I grabbed his leg, forcibly making him fall. "I'm sorry!" He said as he slid back up to his seat.
I watched the screen go through many anime until a manga looking cover ended up on the screen that he had selected. I could feel Natsu behind me, moving closer to get forwards. Bad thing was, I wanted to lean back since my back was hurting. I leant back, pretending not to acknowledge he was there as the anime played.
"It looks good..." Gajeel muttered.
"It's 2017, duh," I retorted at him and threw popcorn at him, which he ate in the air. I raised my eyebrows in amazement.
"Natsu taught me," He said before looking back at the screen. The room was dark and I tried to grab my unopened can of diet coke. I toppled over and I grabbed it as what I thought was an amazing line played before the theme song set off.
"I like the song," I said as I moved my head to the beat. I could feel Natsu moving behind me and I just stopped and leant back. I guess he likes it too but he stopped after he realised I had.
"Gray, do you have an extra mattress?" I asked as I stuck my toothbrush in my mouth. He had gone in plain white PJs and had his back slouched. He nodded as he went to the storage room. I walked into his bedroom and could see that Natsu had decided to take the sofa in his room. Gajeel had taken the other mattress on the floor. I grinned as I sat on the bed and waited for mine.
"Lucy, you look so..." Gajeel said like it was my first time being in the same room as me. Natsu looked at me and smirked. I turned my face and looked at the mirror. There were black veins slowly seeping through my jaw line and into my cheeks. I widened my eyes as I rushed out into the bathroom.
Let's just say some werewolves can get some sort of diseases as well. I had got something that shows symptoms of being a werewolf before a full moon. That would typically be on March 12 and today was the 9th. I looked through my pockets, trying to find something so stop it from showing.
Nothing.
I had forgotten it.
I pulled up my hood over my head and tried to hide my face enough to make it look like the shadows. I walked out and went back into the room. Gajeel had left. "He went to try and find some medicine, not like it would help in your case," Natsu stated behind me.
"Can you see it much?" I asked him as I looked up at him. He tilted his head in many ways to try and figure out an answer as I froze still.
"Not much, your blood in this form. It smells sweet. Before, I could smell vanilla and strawberry and now just something sweet." He informed me.
"So what? They won't pick up on that," I shrugged at him. He laughed as we both sat on the bed. "I forgot my medicine at home, it sucks," I muttered.
"You do suck, don't you?"
