"Ella . . . Ella wake up!" A voice from somewhere in the blackness said. I couldn't think right but I knew the sound was trying to ruin my bliss. "Ella get up!"

I was awake now and not happy about it. "Uuuuuuugh." Was my very smart response

"Ella your going to be late for school." My mom said. The voice was my mom.
"School bad. Sleep good." Was my second smart response.
"Ella, you get up right now."

After more annoying stuff I was ready for school. Except for the fact that I wanted to bring my bed with me. Or just stay with my bed. Mostly the second one.

When I was a block away from my house I heard a scream. MOM! I thought as I quickly and ran faster then I ever had before. I have to get to mom.

When I finally got home I saw a pail man holding a knife to my moms throat. The man had black clothes, hair and eyes. But the eyes had a red glint about them.

Vampire. A thought from nowhere came into my mind.

"If you want your oh so dear mother back you'll hand over the necklace." No. I thought clutching it. I know this is important. But I have to save mom.

Without thinking I lunged at him before he could use the knife. Was soon as I brought him to the floor he turned into dust that sunk into the ground. Just like the shadow figure and the wolf the other day. "Mom, are you alright?"

"Y-yes." She said and she hugged me while she breathed heavily.

"Listen mom, I won't go to school so you can rest. You just read or watch a movie or something. I'll do the chores." I said as I hugged her back thinking how the vampire had come for me.

I watched my mom head down the hall to her room and I started on the chores. Mom always has a list of the things to do thankfully. I quickly called the Jewel Twins about me not going to school. And I may have invited them over for later today.

By lunch time the house was clean and the laundry was done. I quickly checked on mom again before I ate and did homework. Hey, just because I skip school doesn't mean I'm not a good student. Unlike Muttison.

As I headed back to the kitchen after giving mom some food I heard the doorbell ring. Shoot. I had forgotten that the Jewel Twins were coming over. I ran to the door and let them in, we talked, and talked, and talked, and talked . . . You get the point. After checking on my mom to make sure she was asleep we talked about the dreams. As we talked they realised that we had all had the same experience, except for the blurry eye sight I had. That must've just been sleep in my eyes.

After watching a movie with some popcorn we did makeovers. Not too fancy or anything, just lipstick and light eyeshadow and a bit more. I focused on my locket and thought of earrings and it turned into a pair of earrings. They were technically mini lockets, D did a bracelet and CC a hair pin. We decided on another sleep over, you know cause' it was already late and all.

Somewhere in the middle of the night I heard some sort of hissing sound. It seemed to be coming from outside and not quite like a snake. I peeked out the window and saw a group of people. No. Not people. Vampires. I covered Crystals mouth and shook her to wake her up. When she woke up she did the same to Diamond. There was no doubt the vampires were here for us.

As CC and D had come straight from school they had their backpacks. We grabbed our jackets and some clothes and shoved them in our packs. There was no need to speak the plan as we all knew what we had to do. I sneaked out to the kitchen but stayed out of sight of the windows. I quietly grabbed some water and food and stashed them in my pack.

CC and D had grabbed my flashlights and other stuff that they could think of. After quickly changing and looking around we went to the back of the house. Where apparently the vampires had not occupied. We were on the ground floor so we were able to climb out the window.

Trying to be brave is hard. But right now, I was making one of the biggest decisions in my life. As we rushed down the street in the direction of the forest when a tear slipped down my check. We were a few blocks away when we heard the sound of the vampires following us.

As we ran into the forest a tear trickled down my cheek.
